8-( I love Baja Fresh with non-toxic, flavorful food! I had my first disappointing experience there. I ordered takeout. I ordered the grilled fish tacos with pico de gallo removed and asked for a container of mango salsa. I didn't spring for the guacamole pronto add on because the grilled fish taco comes with avocado. Instead, I got the breaded fish with nothing but cabbage and a container of pico de gallo. It's not bad but it's not what I asked for and Baja Fresh does not allow you to contact them about issues. read more

Haven't been to Baja Fresh since I was a kid, and I was pretty disappointed. The flavor profile is greasy and bland, and overall, much worse than any actual taqueria. The only bright spot was the seasoning on the carne asada, but the rest of the meal was forgettable at best. Somehow, after a 20 minute wait, my burrito came out cold, even though it was wrapped in foil. Seriously, how does that even happen? We've eaten here a few times and it's normally ok most of the time. But today was really awful. We placed an online order for nachos for me, quesadillas and rice and beans for my husband they quote the wait time at 18 mins so we get there at the 15 min mark just in case and our food is ready to go which was great. They are usually fast so no surprise. We get home and disappointingly they didn't give us any of the salsa we asked for but you know things happen. Then I open my nachos and they are completely soggy, every single chip. Even the sour cream looked like it was staring to curdle or separate. My husband's were fine but my food obviously sat for a while before they gave it to us. Not authentic Mexican food but it's still good food. Couldn't give it higher than 3 because of the lack of flavor. But my order was made accurately staff was nice and the restaurant was clean. Ordered online over hour ago I got here a little earlier than expected so I asked if it was possible to get my order made earlier. She right off just shakes head no before looking at receipt than saying no this isn't our location when it says clearly las Positas location on receipt with order number and she just keeps saying no like look it up she's talking to me as if I'm lying and making this up. Outdoor seating is perfect on a warm summer night. Depending on who is working, the music can be really jumping. I'm a salsa music fanatic. The employees are friendly and the service is tops. The salsa bar is pretty good. Guacamole and chips is a MUST. Isn't this a super food? For the most part, I have a few things that I look for on a mexican menu. One of them is fish tacos. When I first tried the fish tacos I knew it would be my go-to order for a satisfying, light and flavorful meal. The chicken tortilla soup is also very good. The other night I tried the cabo salad burrito. It was decent, but I always add lime and a ton of salsa to make it just right for my palate. Next on my list of items to try is the Bare Style burrito- basically a burrito served in a bowl without a tortilla, on a bed of Romaine lettuce and the Fire-grilled Skinny Chicken Bowl- Achiote marinated fire-grilled chicken, black beans, green chiletomatillo rice, squash & achiote onions topped with tomatillo salsa fresca. That sounds really good. Hubby loves the asada tacos and sometimes a burrito. They list the calories so you know what you are getting into before you order. *** Don't throw your receipt away. I spontaneously came here to the Blackhawk location on my drive to the area after craving a grilled chicken Diablo Burrito with the tortilla grilled Dorado style and prepared to perfection. I cannot imagine other Yelpers complaining about the elimination of the Salsa Bar. They are generous enough to give you extra Salsas per your request. I actually chose this over *real* Mexican food one night. Having just moved back to Livermore from a year in Danville -- the opposite of the Mexican food capital of the Valley -- you'd think I'd be attached at the hip to my favorite taqueria, Tequila Taqueria. But odd as it is, I've only been there once and I've been to Baja Fresh twice. And it's even a further drive to hit Baja Fresh! What am I thinking!? I'm not. But as much as I love taqueria food, sometimes you like to pretend you're eating healtier. I tried the fish tacos for the the first time (got the breaded ones because I wasn't feeling THAT healthy) and they were pretty decent. Was a bit peeved that after I specifically asked if it came with chips and was told "Yes," it did not come with chips. And then recently got my old fave, the tostada (veggie, no meat) ... only now it comes in a wider, flatter tortilla bowl making it easier to eat. Pretty satisfying I must say. I would venture 3.5 stars because the service and cleanliness at this Baja Fresh is 10x better than the jacked up one in San Ramon, but it's still Baja Fresh, so I ain't givin' no four stars. Their mango salsa is surprisingly good, considering I like the food at La Salsa probably a little better but their mango salsa disappoints. One of the salsas (the tan-colored one -- not the dark brown, the tan) is surprisingly nasty, but that's personal opinion. I was on my way to Stockton yesterday and I needed a quick road bite. I've decided that Baja Fresh, besides being the best place to steal Cholula from, is the freeway fast food that most resembles the cuisine it is actually mimicking. I would be guilty of being that American audience who's not into super spicy, as well as being picky, fussy and vanilla as foodies go. That said, love it. It's not the literal, authentic Mexican place that wife adores, but everyone in our group can find something they enjoy on the menu. The store is consistently clean and help is prompt, and enjoying their new (recent?) thing of bringing your dine-in to the table (saves on tray pickups? no matter, works for me). And unlike the Pleasanton mall store, they're pleasant to talk to... doesn't hurt that the register spits out $5 discount coupons here but $2 ones at the mall store for taking the online survey... and for a typical $18 check, a $5 coupon rocks. read more

Baja Fresh is one of the healthy fast food chain in US. This store is especially CLEAN. Employees are friendly and give large portions of food. I don't know why the bad reviews. This is a fast food chain restaurant. Their food is standardized. Which means you get the same food at all Baja Fresh, so you won't get surprised. We can not expect them to make customized food like local restaurants do. I like to go to this particular one in Livermore because it is very clean. I have seen their employee wipe almost everything in the restaurant. I care especially the salsa bar, which is always clean. They also give quite large portion of food. Chips are warm and delicious with their salsa. I always get a lot of spicy salsa and chilies for my burrito and taco. Sometimes I can't finish one burrito in a meal. As far as Baja Fresh goes, this one does a good job. The place has always been adequately clean when we visit. Our food is always prepared as ordered and delivered quickly. Now, whether or not you enjoy Baja Fresh food is up to you. I'm okay with their food.
