Another blast from the past. Chipotle is so much better, but who wants to drive to Dublin at 5:30 on a Friday. Dare I say that even Taco Bell is better... Customer service was awesome, super nice. Employees were cleaning up as we waited for our food. It was fairly busy, but our food was ready quick. I had a veggie burrito and chips and guacamole. I like that they put the calories up on the menu, so you that you don't try to down your 900 calorie burrito in one sitting. The chips were stale and the guacamole was an unnatural green color. You can never go wrong with Baja Fresh. I've tried most of the items here and I recommend the simple burritos or soft tacos with chicken. Their beef is a bit too chewy. Join their fan page on Facebook and they'll send monthly deals and coupons. The best thing about baja fresh is the mango salsa. Hands down one of the best salsas around. I had a pickup phone order for Wednesday October 26th at 5pm and the restaurant was completely empty beside me with 4 staff members standing around. I went to pickup my order and they confirmed everything that I ordered. When I got home, we were missing a part of the order. I immediately called the store. After being put on hold and speaking with 3 different staff members, I spoke with the staff manager, Eric. He said he could not deliver the missing order (which was fine), nor could he refund my credit card. He kept speaking over me and kept talking about what he could not do. Finally he agreed that the general manager, Martha would call me the next day. It has been 2 days and no phone call. If I would have read all the other reviews on this restaurant, I would not have gone to this restaurant. Don't bother going to the Baja Fresh Livermore Las Positas one. They cheat you out of the sour cream on your burrito. It was too spicy for me without it so brought it in and they wanted to charge me 82 cents for it. It is suppose to come with it. She was very rude and would not listen to reason. The place is very clean! The kitchen is open to be viewed by customers(this is a great feature because a lot of times you just don't know what's going on). These folks wash their hands frequently and the hands that prepare the foods are gloved. The people who work here are friendly and professional. The food is pretty darn good too. Alex gets 5 stars! Always exceeds my expectations. Never a single order wrong when he is there. He is great and needs a pay raise. However, everyone else I have gone to gets the order wrong. When I tell them the order is wrong they get stern with me and say I should have asked for it during the ordering process. Which I did, it is not my fault the cashier entered it in wrong. How many times do I have to repeat myself to make sure the order is placed correctly? Also the tall, young cashier avoids me. I don't know if he is uncomfortable speaking english or he dislikes caucasians but he literally runs away when I walk up to the counter so that someone else has to wait on me. The food is good when they get the order right, but so far I've had 1 out of 5 good experiences here. I generally call ahead on the commute home from work to swing by and just pick it up. But the order is lost somewhere in translation every..single..time. just a diablo burrito with carne asada. I've received a shrimp, baja, regular, and a chicken burrito. First couple times they were quick to correct it, but this time I had enough. Now based on principal it should be right, especially at their asking price. I try to speak as clearly as I can, and they confirm on the order on phone. I'm not sure if it's the language barrier or what, but when I picked it up I said my name and they said steak burrito. I'm kicking myself for not double checking before I started my drive home, but honestly I gave more faith than I should have. Another $12 down the drain. It's a shame for the baja fresh franchise, I was looking forward to a semi-healthier and quick food option for lunch on the road. After watching an episode of CBS's "Undercover Boss", my wife and I decided to try this nationwide chain for the first time. The place was not busy at the time we arrived, and the counter person was eager to take out order. You know the type. You barely walk through the door and they are already wanting to take your order. One moment please, this is our first time. The menu seemed good and the prices were reasonable. We had a coupon for a $5 discount on our meal too. I choose their Baja Steak burrito and my wife the basic. I don't like a lot of stuff in my burrito. Meat, beans, cheese, and salsa. Perfect. Except, the meat was substandard and not seasoned like I'm used to. The salsa bar appeared to have freshly made products, and the pineapple salsa on my extra street chicken taco was a plus. To bad the HOT sauce was more mild - medium. I need Tabasco or it's equivalent to spice it up. My wife didn't have many complaints (or compliments). She did mention the side of chips were good but she wish she had more. We are used to the family owned taquerias where the chips are warm and you can get as much as you like. Perhaps that was the real problem with our visit here. We prefer the family owned places. Chain Mexican for is meant for American's who don't want the spicy stuff. We want the spicy stuff! Baja chicken bowl is good. Salsa is yummy. Customer service from Marta was HORRIBLE. High volume of customers came in and she was so rude. She made zero eye contact and would grab a card, slide it, and scream NEXT. When the food was ready I walked up to the counter and she just pointed at me to take it. What I DO know is this-- my hubby and I stopped here last night at 8:50PM to get a couple of burritos to go... but they were already CLOSED. Always fresh. Yum! I order the nachos. Sometimes with carnitas, sometimes with chicken. Sometimes no meat at all. Either way, it's scrumptious! They pack on the cheese, black beans (my choice), pico de gallo (so fresh!), guac and sour cream... Squeeze some lime over it and you're good to go. The portion is HUGE- I never finish it all. I went there for the first time last weekend. I ordered the steak fajitas w/black beans. Nice salsa bar, although the mild regular was dark and weird looking. The hot wasn't really hot at all. My complaint? If it was "fresh" how did they manage to serve me so quick? My entire meal, minus the tortillas, was lukewarm, more on the cold side. They microwave the dinners! We have been on a recent Baja Fresh jag. Big tip, call ahead - even if you plan to eat it there. Everyone in our family can find something they like to eat here. We order "enchilado style" burritos (wet) and they come with a mini side of nachos. The portion is generous and we usually share one burrito between 2 people or end up taking 1/2 home for another meal. This is not the same Mexican food that one gets in a Mexican restaurant but it is tasty and fresh. read more

This place is...yum! I eat here fairly regularly now and I am always satisfied with my food. I typically get the baja ensalata with black beans rather than the cotija cheese that it comes with. I also like to skip the dressing and just squeeze the juice of 5-6 lime wedges all over it. The food is so tasty and satisfying! All their ingredients are tasty and fresh. The portions are generous and the service is quick and very polite. I almost always modify my order and so far they have yet to get it wrong. We end up visiting the local Ba-jaw twice a year. I'm always hopefully but, but always dissapointed in the food. At this store the service is very nice, friendly staff, and they are fast. It is clean, and nice salsa bar. But the food is just nothing great. I got the Ultimo Burrito with steak and shrimp. The wrapper tore, that drives me nutz and is a food throwing situation. The filling was not great. The flavor was weak, and the chips were stale. My wife liked it a bit better, but still not impressed. I would give the service and store a three, but the food is clearly a two. read more
