Checked out Baja Mar Taco in Pico Rivera and had the shrimp cocktail and the enchilado shrimp taco. Both were really fresh and tasty, and the portions were solid. Everything was fresh and had great flavor. The taco had a nice little kick without being too spicy. Loved both salsas from their salsa bar Only small thing I'd change is the shrimp cocktail--would be better served in a chilled glass instead of a plastic cup. Overall great spot. I'll definitely be coming back.

Updating to let everyone know that their salsa cups are the TINIEST sizes ever. I brought in a bigger container to fill for a large group order (almost 20 tacos) and I was reprimanded and asked to use the tiny containers. I had to fill each sauce cup (about 20 total) and held up the entire self serve bar during prime lunch rush hour. This was really inconvenient and left me scolded for trying to fulfill my order. I understand salsa being limited, however, for large group orders, there should be a much bigger container to accommodate the group. Baja mar is not good for groups.

The food comes out fresh! The two taco plate, you can mix or match any meat or fish. It comes with a drink! Soft drink or Fresca! My favorite is the cucumber! It's not overly sweet and you can taste the cucumber. Not like some other spot, they do not include Fresca with your meal. It comes as a separate charge. So this is a plus for me! Jaiva Tostada is always good. Everything is a 5/5.

I haven't been here for a while but good remans the same. I got a burrito de Cameron enchilado and it was delicious, every bite had a shrimp or 2, it did fall apart since it was so big, but that was ok because I ended eating it with the fork! My hubby got cocktail de Cameron and the flavor is so GOOD and had ALOT of shrimp as well. We also ordered the tacos de Camerones empanados and they were ok, that's why a 4. The employees were very nice and quick, it was fairly quiet at the time we went, 12:30 and not a lot of people. I heard a lot of people ordering tacos de asada, I will be back to try those.

Stumbled across this place on my way to another place I was heading and had to try it. Don't let the looks deceive you! Good service and clean inside. I ordered a battered fish taco fully loaded, a chicken tostada, and a half order of beans and rice. They included a jalapeño toreado and had a green and red salsa bar with sliced lemons and pickled onions. The fish taco was absolutely amazing!!! Comparable if not better than La Bufadora and Taco Nazo. Yes it was that good! The tostada was okay and their salsas could use some work. The beans were good but the rice was really good. That fish taco though!!! Going back with the family to sample some of their other seafood delights and of of course their fish tacos!

A friend ordered takeout for a gathering on 5/25/25 for dinner so I can't speak to the service or the ambience. However, I ordered the camaron burrito (I specifically said "grilled shrimp" because I saw that on Yelp), and was surprised to see the shrimp fried + battered inside. I was expecting the same shrimp that were on their signature nachos. I'm not a huge fan of fried food so luckily my friend who got a Al Pastor burrito was willing to swap with me. The Al Pastor burrito was significantly smaller than the shrimp burrito and tasted ok. Tastewise, the nachos really stole the show.

First time here and i got to say their food was yummy. I order 4 tacos de camarón enchilados, 2 tacos de asada and a large coctel. Cóctel had a lot of camarón, no fishing here, and very flavorful. Tacos de camarón were also very delish, good flavor and plenty of shrimp. Tacos de asada were also good and had plenty of meat. After reading reviews decided to go try the potato tacos. I got 2 with no tomatoes or cream. Tacos are crispy not at all greasy. The taste of the potato is good and fresh. I ordered a Jamaica and it was the best I've had in a while. My son ordered a asada burrito. He said it was very filling and good. The prices are very reasonable and the salsa bar is well stocked and fresh. All said and done the potato tacos n asada burritos at Taco Boy are better tasting just a bit more expensive. read more

I couldn't wait for taco Tuesday to have a taco fix, I needed a taco fix now and fast. This restaurant means business with all the variations and combinations of tacos. I ordered carne asada tacos. The carne asada was tender and full of flavor, not at all oily or greasy but rather cooked perfectly. The cilantro, onions and limes all tasted fresh including the green and red salsa which added a little heat to the tacos. This place is excellent and I highly recommend it. read more

So good, yummy, yummy, good for the tummy. Everyday except for Fridays and Saturdays they have specials. You can't go wrong with that! It's a small place so if you are driving fast you might miss it lol but hopefully you don't so you can give this place a chance. Yes, a lot of delicious options if you can't make up your mind don't be shy and ask the cashier. I recommend the enchilado shrimp tacos $3.99 each sounds expensive for tacos but so worth it depending how hungry you are one or two will do it they are massive. The establishment is clean, lots of different ways to pay, hand sanitizer ready for you, salsas and chiles stand, and soda dispenser. Parking isn't bad so no excuses. read more

Stopped by with my coworker for lunch during one of our training courses. It's a small place but it's clean. Reasonable prices. I had the shrimp cocktail, so good. It was made on the spot (I asked for no onions) $8.50 for small. It had a good amount of shrimp.. My coworker got the shrimp taco combo and he said they were really good. Consistent crowd during lunch but not much of a wait. read more

I came for lunch and got the shrimp tostada, spicy shrimp taco, and a carne asada sope. The food was very good and the shrimp was generously portioned. My friend possibly got some bad fish in his fish tacos as he had explosive bowel movements for the next 3 days. I had no problems though and I would come back. read more

Convenience: Snuggled into a nondescript strip mall, Baja Mar is located off of Rosemead and Beverly Blvd. If you blink you might end up missing this hidden gem and some of the best fish tacos in Pico Rivera. There's a small parking lot and plenty of street parking making it extremely easy to stop by for your seafood fix. Customer service: The two young men working behind the counter are brothers it turns out as this is a family owned restaurant. You can also see their parents cooking and cleaning and keeping things running efficiently. I'm really big on supporting small, local businesses within our community and this little family run business is definitely worth supporting. Cleanliness: Fairly clean and well kept with workers wiping down tables as needed. Extra points for them featuring a hand sanitizer dispenser for customers use. Chow: I've only had a few of the items so far, but I plan on making my way through the entire menu at some point because I like food. Fish tacos- The stars of the show. Crunchy fried batter on the outside and piping hot soft delectable white fish on the inside. Topped with cool cabbage, popping Pico de gallo, and signature taco sauce these are sure to be your new fave. And at only 99 cents on Sundays AND Wednesday you really have no excuse to not try them out. Potato tacos- Low-key one of the best kept secrets at this place. The taco shell is super crunchy and contrasts so amazingly with the soft and cheesy potato on the inside. I asked what their secret was and they won't tell me... Shrimp cocktail- Filled to the brim with plump, juicy shrimp and totally worth the price. Definitely a must on a hot day or any day if you like to eat. Taquitos- Handmade and hand rolled in house, these taquitos are always served piping hot. Couple these with the side of cool, creamy guacamole they come with and it's lit. read more

Today, Mac wanted to check out this place so we drove up. I tried a fried fish taco which was decent. Not my fav but not bad. Definitely not worth the drive when Del Taco serves an equally decent fish taco and is just down the street. Also tried a bite of a potato taco and found the running wet potato slop not appealing; just messy and bland. The best thing I tried was their beef taquitos...fresh crispy and filled end to end with tasty tender beef. Would order them again if I ever am back in area. read more

Fish taco was mostly breaded came in cause of the reviews **** took taco apart & ate a lil piece of fish in the middle of it , so I felt like I ate cabbage tacos with cream . place is very small , & No rest room at all On positive note the red salsa is good But I won't be coming here no more. read more

Fish and Shrimp tacos are my favorite specially during the week they have their $1 tacos specials. Shrimp salad is also pretty good. They also have "tacos de papa" believe it or not they are great too. I do need to try other items on their menu but so far the food is pretty good. read more

This place is a hidden gem, the customer service and food are great! I really love how welcoming the environment is and how attentive the workers are. The food is priced fairly and it's so good! We ordered their special of the day, which was a ceviche. It was made with raw shrimp, not cooked in any way, like straight from the freezer, thawed, chopped, and put into a bowl with the other fresh diced stuff. Usually, the marinating time the shrimp sits in the ceviche "cooks" it, not this one, gray shrimp. We read a review that said the octopus was life-changing, and we love a well-cooked octopus. If the octopus was just cooked, or just heated, or just slightly on the grill for a second, it would have been super delicious and life-changing, however, it was finished-cooked so poorly. My guess is that someone thinks that grill marks make it good, wrong, they burnt it. The flavor is burnt! It becomes bitter and burnt! Well, guess what, we ordered the fish.... And guess what.. it is the same!!! BURNT! Not grilled, BURNT, ON PURPOSE!?! If you want good Zarandeado, I recommend you go try Mariscos Martin in La Puente or Baldwin Park. Like I said, skip it, I do not recommend it. And, it was not cheap neither. It looked so upscale, so awesome, smelled good, then just burnt! Don't believe all the hype. This is definitely a hype restaurant, or somewhere to get drunk and not be able to comprehend what you are digesting.

Casa Sanchez on Atlantic had some of the best potato tacos & taquitos. Well I give this place 3 stars just for simple fact the prices are great. I hate the smelly Mexican cheese they use. I prefer real shredded cheesei like they use at Pepe's. I also noticed the smell of the lettuce and I learned that smell is from a chemical compound to keep lettuce from going bad, Taco Bell notorious for using it. I order my food with no lettuce unless I know they cut it fresh. So we got 1 potato taco to share. First I was hit with sweet aroma of dirty gym socks one main reason I hate that Mexican cheese. The next was that smell from the lettuce so I am not gonna lie....I was already telling myself....this is not gonna go down too good? So upon breaking it in half I noticed the taco had mashed potatoes in it? I never had it that way....so after removing the cheese and lettuce I tried to get into it but couldn't. I than ordered beef taquitos and they were very small and the meat had that old meat smell to it.....wait let me back up....I said NO LETTUCE IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH!!!!!! What did I get?
