I swear it is the best red bean bun I have ever had - it's not too sweet like other red bean pastes, very fresh and the bread is extremely soft and chewy! It is perfection every time. Also amazing are the classic custard bun and the condensed milk bun (it makes me think of an Indian sweet inside the bun), but really everything I had ever tried at Bake Culture. This is my 2nd time at Bake Culture. I didn't even realize the bakery section is Bake Culture since it's a shared space with Teazzi. I got: 3/5 matcha purple rice bun: This is my 2nd time getting this. Altho I like this bun, it shouldn't be called matcha, since it has no matcha flavor. The purple rice is plain, no sugar added. The cream cheese is sweet. They really need to change the name & call it purple rice bun tho. 3/5 German pudding: Tastes like custard. Pretty sweet. read more

My wife knows hiw much i love e cake. So she cane home with a slice of the green cake, it had a very sweet cream ( green on top) and in between the cake there was a white cream with blueberries. Cake had no taste, the cream was overwhelmingly sweet and overpowering. Expensive slice of cake, wont be coming back for cake. Paris baguette makes better cakes for sure! read more

This is hands down the softest pineapple and bolo bun I've ever had. Their milk toast is also delicious and stays soft for over a week. They have cheese cake, the layered crepe cake, and bubble tea as well. I have not tried any of these yet so this review is based on the breads. The egg tart was good but I think the best egg tart is still in Brooklyn's Chinatown. I've been to multiple bakeries in Chinatown and flushing and so far this hidden gem has been the best. read more

Bake Culture in LIC is a pop-up that ends March 15 so if you haven't tried it yet I highly recommend! I'd also suggest going in the morning because they bring out the baked goods every morning so all the good stuff is gone if you go in the afternoon. It's still yummy but your choices are more limited. This is an Asian bakery that serves a variety of cake, savory breads, and sweet pastry. The bread is all light and fluffy and has made fall re-in love milk bread. Since each pastry is individually wrapped it's easy to get only one thing, or a bunch and have breakfast for the whole week! read more

I saw this place opened in my neighborhood. I've never seen this place before and I decided to give it a shot. I got a cake from here first. It was a strawberry cake but it had little strawberry. I was disappointed that they used strawberry jam for the cake filling. It was way too sweet and tasted not fresh. I went back for pastries and was hoping they are good. Their pastries were soggy and tasted just okay for me. Some pastries were pretty dry. The price is just okay for the quality. I already came here three times but I didn't like it too much. I'm really intrigued by the various businesses that have been coming into this pop-up space on Jackson Avenue. I'll miss Bake Culture when it's done, but I'm so glad we have it for now! My husband and I often pop in here for a small treat at the end of the day. We especially love their mille crepe cakes, and my personal favorite is the black sugar bubble tea (see picture attached). They have baked goods in all sizes, and from the savory to the sweet. A custard bun and bubble tea are the perfect breakfast pair. read more

I always walk my dog around the area and I've been getting their bread and pastries on the way ever since they opened in December. I love how they individually package their items, it's so cute and clean! I just found out that their last day is on March 15 so I'm definitely going to be coming here everyday and stocking up for my daily dose of carbs. Taiwanese Bakery continues to grow and expand. They're located in Chinatown and Flushing and recently has a pop up in LIC. Pop up is just marketing themselves until they can set up a permanent brick and mortar somewhere in the neighborhood. Great addition to this area as they continue to grow and expand their local business market. If you're looking for some delicious Asian baked goods and don't feel like making a trek, swing on by. Bake Culture is a relatively new Taiwanese bakery in Long Island City. Considering how small the location is, there is a pretty decent selection of pastries. I've tried a few pastries and a cake. The taro pastry looks like it would be flaky, but is mostly soft, and the taro flavor is a bit lacking. I don't think I'd get it again. The price was good though! There is a sweet potato pastry, however, that is quite delicious. It is meant to look like a purple sweet potato, and has a thin pastry shell and is filled with a good amount of sweet potato inside. I didn't expect that but was pleasantly surprised. It was pretty tasty. I bought a whole strawberry cake at one point, and it wasn't too bad. The sponge was pretty soft and tasty, and the frosting wasn't too heavy. However, there was this strawberry jam filling that was just way too strong. For Long Island City, Bake Culture is decent as there aren't many pastry options around. But I think I'd rather take a bit of a trip and get something with a bit better flavor and quality. read more

The staff always welcome me when I come inside and answer my questions whenever I'm unsure about what to try next. I definitely recommend their German pudding and Portuguese egg tarts if you're into sweet custards. Their brown sugar bubble tea was pretty good as well.
