Pistachio Lattice Croissant.

Pastry. GOOD. Ordered a buttery PISTACHIO LATTICE CROISSANT which featured a delicate Cinnamon crunch. Extremely nice staff. Bakery founded by a CHIP CITY owner. RECOMMEND.

Been keeping an eye on this bakery since it opened in Astoria but never formally got to try it out. It was a coincidence that I parked right in front this evening & finally thought it was the right time to pop inside. First of all, there are SO many different pastries to choose from, I honestly had decision crisis and went with the most basic decision - a regular croissant ($4.95). I asked for it to be toasted lightly, now for the real taste test - It was so fresh & you could definitely taste the New Zealand butter. I'm eager to try out the other specialties at my next visit!

Blueberry cardamom bun, banana bread, crab danish, black sesame tahini croissant

SO GOOOOOD! One of the better bakeries I've had in nyc and super underrated imo. Black sesame tahini croissant is actually so uniquely FLAVORED. I've never had anything like it and it's super strong black sesame flavor without being bitter at all. The croissant itself was also super flaky. Blueberry cardamom bun was not something I would've thought have been up my alley but it was SO good. It was like croissant dough in the bun and the blueberry cream was great. Cardamom spice flavor was not overwhelming at all just a hint of it. Crab danish was unique but super heavy fat wise and not super strongly flavored. Probably also could've used more crab. The caramelized banana bread was nothing that special but not bad. This was probably my least favorite. I've also tried both their beauty and beast cakes for my friend's birthday! Both are super rich, moist, and filled with layers. My fav of the two is the beauty with the subtle lemon and fruit flavor. The chocolate on the beast cake was still so decadent tho! Definitely would come back and try other cool items love that it's a rotating menu.

A wonderful bakery close to the water in LIC. Perfect during a stroll to get a sweet treat. They had a selection of delicious pastries! I got a black sesame tahini croissant, pistachio lattice, and pastry of the week which is inspired by elote. There is some seating inside and outside and very friendly and quick service! It was busy but the line moved quickly.

I've been curious about this spot ever since the Astoria location of this bakery went viral. Being right next to the waterfront was another plus so I stopped by around Saturday lunch time with a friend to try their pastries and chat. If you come closer to lunchtime, some of their more popular pastries can be sold out so just be aware. My friend and I got the elote croissant, black sesame tahini croissant, smoked salmon croissant, and the blueberry cardamom sweet bun to share, plus two coffees. Their blueberry cardamom sweet bun is a MUST TRY out of all the items we've tried. The blueberry flavor really came through and it had a nice sweetness and tartness to it. The bun itself was super fluffy. Their elote croissant is about what I imagined, it has the perfect amount of elote flavor with a generous amount of corn. I love twice baked croissants but I found the tahini frangipane of the black sesame tahini croissant a little too sweet for my liking. The black sesame brittle on top added a nice crunchy touch to the croissant. The smoked salmon croissant was nothing to write home about, I wish there were a bit more variety of toppings instead of the generous amount of pickled onions. This is definitely a great spot to grab a pastry and chill by the waterfront. They also serve a slightly different menu during the evening, although I did not get a chance to try it out yet.

Took a bite so you can see what's on the inside!! Pistachio lattice

Pastries are so fricking delicious!!! Located in a beautiful neighborhood, this small lil spot is home to some unique and tasty pastries that bring joy with every bite!!! Came on a Sunday morning around 10am and luckily they hadn't run out of stuff ! Pistachio Lattice is a must try. Has pistashio frangipane, sweet white chocolate and raspberry jam all packed into this lovely pastry. It's so crispy, has a delicately sweet aroma and taste! Just lovely for a breakfast pick me up. Would come here again to try other items!!!

Visited at around 2 PM on a sunny March Saturday and there was a pretty long line, but it moved fast and they had plenty of things left (phew). There is limited seating indoors and outdoors, but of course the park is also right there. I've tried most of their croissants at the Astoria location, so that day's trip was all about ice cream and cake. The vanilla soft serve was indeed excellent, and the chocolate cake (which is HUGE) was amazing - and both went very well together. The black cocoa gives the cake a great and unique edge - if you've had the tiramisu at Don Angie, it's a similar flavor. They didn't have the passionfruit cake available, but would love to try that sometime. Will be back for more soft serve - hoping they rotate the flavors this summer - and croissants!

spinach & ricotta, black sesame tahini

Somedays Bakery has been on my list to try since they opened in Astoria but I was never able to make it so I was stoked when they opened a location in LIC. They have a smaller menu but trust me when I say it's hard to choose what to get because everything looks amazing. I went with a savory and a sweet- the Spinach & Ricotta Swirl ($7.95) Black Sesame Tahini Pain Au Chocolate ($7.95). The spinach and ricotta was definitely my favorite- it's soft and fluffy on the inside and has the right amount of filling that doesn't feel too heavy or overpowering. The black sesame tahini croissant was also delicious and comes out warm and gooey on the inside, but I felt like there was a bit too much filling and was super rich. I was satisfied after a couple bites. Still delicious nonetheless. I will say that the prices are a bit high but the pastries are huge and can definitely be shared. There's also no seating inside but it's right by the park which has plenty of benches and tables. So worth going to and trying!

Stopped by on a Sunday, they were still in soft opening phase. I made sure to get here by 8AM to avoid the long lines. They had fresh baked goods coming out as I was ordering! I ended up getting the almond croissant, a vanilla custard croissant and the savory spinach and ricotta croissant. They were all very good, the almond croissant was still warm when I got home, and it was amazing! The savory spinach and ricotta croissant reminded me of a garlic knot. All in all, very good bakery. Can't wait to go back to try a few more items.

Keepin it real out here in LIC This neighborhood is def in need of a new cafe, and this is the one. Amazing location right by the water, serving some of the best looking pastries. Didn't get to try them all, but they all look amazing. It's pet-friendly and just a great social spot

Stopped by today as part of their soft opening - luckily made it right before the line started going out the door! They were selling out of stuff but constantly cranking out more. Luckily for us, we grabbed the two last prosciutto and gruyere lattices and it was only a short wait for the sesame tahini croissant. The black sesame tahini came out fresh from the oven, still warm and melty inside. It's a bit heavy on the tahini for my taste - similar to an almond croissant but with tahini instead, and a little bit of sesame sprinkled in - it's like halvah in a croissant form. I wish it were more black sesame-y, but it's hard to beat a freshly baked, still warm croissant. The prosciutto and gruyère was so buttery and cheesy! Their website says the croissants are made with New Zealand butter and one bite of the lattice and you can immediately tell they use some high quality butter. I think mine may have been a little underbaked, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since it's a soft opening still. The prices are a bit high, but unfortunately for us, that seems to be the trend nowadays in New York. Can't wait to come back another day to try the bacon egg and cheese croissant.

Chai peach cream danish
Su S.

Small batch, freshly made patisserie. This place treats each pastry more like a dish. Every piece is rich with ingredients yet still carries the comfort of homemade. The price feels fair because while the pastries might not look huge, they are layered, concentrated, and satisfying, so you will leave feeling full. I especially recommend the chai peach cream danish, which feels perfect for summer. Since this is a true kitchen to table bakery, it is always best to try the seasonal specials. As for the cheddar pretzel, here is my tip: toast it at home, slice it open, and add some turkey or ham. It makes an amazing sandwich. If you would rather not sit in a restaurant but still want something delicious, filling, and easy to take with you, whether you are on your own or with your animal buddy, this spot is perfect. Other things I have tried and loved include the buffalo chicken sandwich, the chocolate chip cookies, and the strawberry corn cookie. I will definitely be going back for them again.

My very close friend (whom I realize has very good taste after following all her food recommendations) recommended I try this bakery out. Our mutual friend also really loves this bakery, and photographed herself and her husband eating here. With such recommendations, I knew I had to try this place to see what all the hype is about. I love putting business's employees on the hot seat by asking them what is popular. Following the friendly cashier's recommendations, I opted to try the Spinach & Ricotta Swirl, Heirloom Tomato Lattice, and the Blueberry Cardamom Sweet Bun which were all extremely rewarding in flavor and satisfaction. The Heirloom Tomato Lattice in particular is remarkably wonderful with ricotta, basil, and balsamic. I'm not sure what the green "frosting" is but I presume it is all the listed ingredients combined into a wonderful, savory spread. Given my love for ricotta, the Spinach & Ricotta Swirl had no other option but to be delicious as well. The Blueberry Cardamom Sweet Bun is still in my dreams. It reminds me that I absolutely love cardamom in desserts. I wish I bought another one of those because it was impeccably delicious. Given the setup of the space, it seems apparent that people are expected to take their order to-go. There is a small sitting area with very minimalist tables that are tasteful but not very practical. I had to combine tables to functionally open my box of goods to eat them. Might this be hostile architecture? Perhaps. Despite this, I will need to fly back to New York for this bakery.

This used to be my favorite Italian bakery. I haven't been to this bakery in years like ten years…read moresince I was a teenager. Today I decided to make a special trip to go here to grab a few goodies. I forgot how small the place was and how low the ceilings were. That wasn't an issue though. The place was nice and cakes were stacked neatly. What was surprising to me is that they don't have any cookies laid in the front display. It's all placed in the back almost hidden. I was deeply disappointed with their cookie selection. It was deeply surprising that they don't sell the butter cookies that had jam in the middle and dipped with chocolate on one side with sprinkles. I did ask the clerk and even showed him a pic of what I was looking for and he said they never sold them. They only had the linzer cookies and they didn't look so good. They also did not have the lobster tail. They did have the sfogliatelle which they also called a lobster tail. I thought they were not the same? Some bakeries sell both and they are definitely not the same. I did end up buying one of their sfogliatelle with cream and some rugelachs. The sfogliatelle was good but the rugelachs tasted slightly underbaked. It did taste fresh though unlike many I've had in other bakeries. However, for $28 per pound, I wouldn't get it again. For those not having lobster tail and not having the Italian cookies, I will have to give Veniero's a low rating. I never thought an Italian bakery would not carry staples. Very disappointed. I need to find another Italian bakery now.

I had to run to work after an appointment so I ordered for takeout. The person taking my order was friendly. I opted for the Lumberjack and a black cold brew. While waiting, one member of the staff stocking up supplies on the side started chatting with me and then she offered to check up on my sandwich. She came out with it shortly thereafter. She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. In the past I've ordered lunch from Daily Provisions via delivery (the "Chefy" salad and the chicken milanese with arugula salad are my favorites), but I might start adding other breakfast sandwiches to the mix.

The place was bustling with people, and everyone seemed happy and excited -- from the customers to the team behind the counter and the baristas. The cookie case was overflowing with so many amazing choices that it was hard to decide! I ended up getting the Rocky Road cookie, a Double Chocolate Chip cookie, a Two Chip Chocolate Chip cookie, and a blueberry muffin to enjoy for breakfast the next morning. The service was absolutely impeccable, and everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly, and delightful. When I got home, I had half of the Rocky Road cookie with a cup of tea, and it was incredible. The cookie was large and chunky but still perfectly enjoyable -- not heavy or overwhelming. It literally melted in my mouth. The chocolate was rich and smooth, and every bite was just delicious. The next morning, I tried the blueberry muffin, and it was just as impressive. It was light and airy, not overly sweet like many blueberry muffins can be. It truly felt like a breakfast pastry. The blueberries tasted fresh and burst with flavor in every bite.
