    Cake
    Linda S.

The cake came out amazing. Asked for a classic, stab heart shaped cake with 2 shades of purple. Baby breath and bows with a very lengthy quote. It was delivered to our home with no hassle and instructions. Kindra did a great job! Everyone loved it and flavor combos with lemon cake and raspberry filling was delicious and not dry at all. I'll be sure to order again.

So cute and exactly what I've asked for bake my day is the only place I'll get my cakes

When I say this are the most delicious and prettiest cake i've ever bought I mean it.

I want to start by saying the cake was absolutely beautiful, I'll include a photo for reference. The design exceeded my expectations, and the quality and flavor were amazing. I was also on a budget, and Kindra was incredibly generous in offering me a discount after learning the cake was for my nephew's funeral. I truly appreciated that kindness and compassion during a difficult time. That said, there were a few challenges with the experience that I feel are important to share. I had provided the date and time of the service when placing my order and scheduled the pickup for the day before, since I was traveling and wouldn't be in Long Beach the morning of. I didn't realize fondant cakes shouldn't be refrigerated, and on the day of pickup, Kindra mentioned she hadn't realized the service was the next day and recommended I get the cake the morning of instead. Since I couldn't pick it up myself, she kindly offered free delivery for 9:45 a.m. the day of the funeral, which I was very grateful for. Unfortunately, there was an emergency on her end, and she was delayed , which I completely understand, as life happens. However, communication afterward became stressful. When I asked for an ETA, she wasn't able to provide one, and once the cake was delivered, she contacted me for the remaining balance. At that point, I was leaving the burial and heading to the repass. I asked for a photo or confirmation of delivery before sending payment, but she became quite aggressive through texts and calls, insisting I pay immediately. I explained that I just needed about 30 minutes to confirm the cake had arrived, as I wasn't there in person and didn't know who to contact right away. Thankfully, a family friend sent me a picture confirming delivery, and I immediately sent the balance plus a $40 tip. I want to emphasize that what I paid didn't come close to the true value of her work, the cake itself was phenomenal. I only wish the customer service interaction had been handled with a bit more patience and understanding, especially given the circumstances. Overall, I would still recommend this bakery for the quality of their cakes. they are stunning and delicious. However, I'd suggest meeting in person beforehand or confirming all details clearly to ensure a smoother experience.

Amazing service!!! I sent photos and explained what I needed and let me tell you they executed it perfectly!!! Pricing was great especially for something so personal and custom made. The cake its self was delicious! With so many flavors it was definitely hard to choose from. I especially loved the delivery service made everything a breeze while I cooked for my party and didn't need to worry about picking up a cake. I see a lot of bad reviews about customer service but honestly it just sounded like a lot of back and forth with customers who weren't ready to spend money on something unique. Art is unique and not everyone can make something so special. (Mind you the cake was well under $200!) I know lots of places that charge for lots more that may have nice designs but not great tasting cake! I will order time and time again, I definitely recommend these wonderful people for ALL cake occasions.

Absolutely obsessed with our cake! So thoughtful and creative She went above and beyond for us. Not to mention made all of this happen in short notice. Getting all my cakes here from now on! Thank you thank you thank you!

I was looking for a bakery to bake my gender reveal cake and Bake My Day exceeded my expectations. Not only was the cake beautiful but it also tasted AMAZING! The communication was fast and they responded to my inquiry and all my questions right away. This place will definitely be my go to for cakes and sweet treats here in Long Beach.

If you want a STRESSFUL ordering cake experience go right ahead and order here. Mine was just an overall bad experience. My first 2 times ordering where not to bad. Ordered my cake (very minimal communication) she delivered all went well. This 3rd time was my final straw. Cake was 2 hrs late, (I did receive a $50 discount). Delivery through uber, (which I had no idea up until arrival time) and to top it off the design was poor to taste. I was hoping the taste would be worth the wait (late time arrival) but to my disappointment the flavors where completely off. Ordered cream cheese (got regular frosting). Again, quality and effort where not there. I did pay $280 original quite $330 with my discount. I won't be ordering again- lesson learned

If you ever need a custom cake made, then Bake My Day is the business to go to! I've had Kindra make me a few customized cakes from Disney related ones, to ones made to look like food dishes. Kindra is very friendly, and is talented at her craft of baking delicious foods! Please give her your orders in advance with at least 2 weeks notice so she can plan accordingly! I've ordered at least 5 times, and everything came out beautifully & delicious! Give her business a try if you need a custom cake made!

DO NOT GIVE BUSINESS! Asked for a standard invoice before sending a deposit to confirm the cake size, total price, and order details. The business REFUSED and insisted payment be sent first, and took immediate defense! When I explained why I prefer invoices for my record, the response quickly became defensive and I was immediately met with "in all that time you spent explaining you could've already had your invoice AFTER a payment" and "thank you for explaining how to run my business"? It's a HUGE red flag to take that tone and defensiveness with customers, especially with a simple request of an invoice to solidify the order. Speaks VOLUMES of the business and customer service!! I CLEARLY will NOT give my money and support a business with this kind of service. I requested a smaller cake as well, and THIS WAS THE LAST MESSAGE THE OWNER WROTE?? "Sorry we can't accept food stamps"?? even after blocked! READ THE TEXTS! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS ITS DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR!

I gave Kendra a few images of what I wanted my cake to look like. I gave her color themes and requested a marbled Tres Lèche. And she magically made it to perfection, fresh the same day and delivered it to the venue. It was so magical! My son couldn't believe his eyes and the guests all wanted her contact because the cake not only looked like magic but tastes so delicious! She magically encased a tres lèche cake inside that 2 tier cake! This cake served 45 people. Kendra was very professional and amazing to work with! Your imagination is the limit because she can make anything! I highly recommend her for all custom cakes!

Absolutely LOVED this coconut and lemon birthday cake! We have gotten 3 birthday cakes now and they are always delicious. Pick-up is also always easy in downtown Long Beach. Definitely recommend ordering a cake for your event!

This is my second time ordering with Kindra. Ordering through text is efficient as I can send her pictures of what I want, and she immediately responds with a price quote. Fair and upfront pricing. When needing to meet a budget, she suggests what can be removed to bring the cost down. Our first cake was 2 years ago, flavor and taste was good and design was good. This time we ordered a heart shaped cake, and Kindra came through with exactly what we were looking for.

All 3 coworkers are having girls, so ofcourse I had to get Hello Kitty!!!

I just needed to share photos of my second cake by Bake My Day. She came through at the last minute with an absolute HIT! Not only was the cake sooo adorable, it was delicious. So delicious my diabetic friend who "just wanted a taste" ate a whole SLICE. I love that the cakes can be customized. I don't remember everything I selected but damn the cake is good!!! I am definitely returning for ALL my cake needs and I can not thank Kiindra enough! The cakes are always the center peice for my birthday parties and since my old baker moved too far for me to justify the price and miles, I was left to find a new baker. My first baker flaked and Kindra came through sooooo clutch (that's still the hip phrase right, clutch?) BTW, it's even better the next morning with a hot cup of coffee. Just saying lol Bake My Day saved my daughter's first birthday!

Why have Holey Grail Donuts when you can have Frosted Cupcakery instead?!…read more Okay, that might be quite the low blow considering that Holey Grail Donuts recently closed for good here in Long Beach, but Frosted Cupcakery seems to have withstood the test of time for ~20 years. Possibly a testament to how good their cupcakes really are?! So I had a Fivestars reward for a free cupcake from Frosted Cupcakery, and since I was planning an afternoon getaway by the beach, I wanted to stop by to claim my free cupcake before expiry. Frosted Cupcakery is located in Belmont Shore two doors east of where Holey Grail Donuts used to be. If you're still not sure where that is, it's on 2nd St about a couple blocks east of the intersection with Livingston. They had a bunch of different flavors to choose from, but the Royal White Cookie Butter cupcake piqued my interest since it sounded like a winning combo that was hard to beat. I asked the employee to describe what it was, and once she said the words "Biscoff cookie", I was immediately sold! They had plenty of that flavor's cupcakes in stock, which kind of led me to believe it wasn't a popular flavor, but I still went with my gut instinct. The employee grabbed a Royal White Cookie Butter cupcake from the display case, placed said cupcake in a white paper bag, added a Frosted Cupcakery sticker on top, and handed it to me while wishing me a good day. I did ask her how long the cupcakes would last in the fridge, and she went to the back to ask a supervisor, giving me more time to peruse the available flavors shown in the display case. She came back shortly later to inform me that the cupcakes should remain good for about 2 to 3 days on the counter. On the way out, I also grabbed a Frosted Cupcakery card, which contains the contact info for the shop as well as the list of cupcake flavors, some of which are seasonal, gluten-free, or even vegan! The card also mentions that the cupcakes are handcrafted, likely with love. I spent a couple more hours chilling by the beach before going home to finally enjoy my cupcake. I noticed there was an unusually large see-through (grease?) spot on the side of the bag, which almost made me think it wasn't a cupcake inside the bag. When I took out the Royal White Cookie Butter cupcake from the bag, I noticed a divider between the frosting and the wrapper, which I thought was a nice touch to separate the two entities of the cupcake. However, I struggled a bit with removing the divider before taking my first bite, which was superb! The buttercream and cookie butter crumbles on top did make for a winning combo, and I wish the flavor could have been prevalent below the divider as well. However, even that flavor seemed to have dissipated after the first bite akin to an exponential decay. They have a few tables inside where you can enjoy your cupcakes with friends. However, take note of the fact that they only allow a maximum of 2 dozen cupcakes for walk-in customers; this is denoted by a sign on the display case. If you want more than 2 dozen, you'd have to place a special order, likely online, but I'm sure over the phone would work as well. Parking? Well, certainly not the easiest as it's in Belmont Shore. While there is a small parking lot directly behind the cupcake shop, I believe it's either paid parking or reserved for other businesses like Philz Coffee or F&M Bank. I had to find a spot on Livingston and walk over, which wasn't too far of a walk, but could be worse on the weekends. Overall, I liked the complimentary cupcake that I got courtesy of Fivestars, but I didn't think it was *that* good to warrant the 5th star from me. I do agree it's a great spot to order cupcakes from, especially if you're planning a day at the nearby beach!

I will be honest, the cupcakes were not my favorite, but maybe I didn't try the right flavors. They honestly tasted like they came from a store mix and store bought frosting I liked that they have a special cupcake of the day. Sophia told me the ones they had for the special were -s'mores And -blackberry pie I didn't try these, but they looked beautiful. They were nicely set up with their fall decorations They have a lot of flavors. They have regular size cupcakes And they have MINI cupcakes I will say, they were moist so that's a plus. I was impressed by the Parklet seating in addition to the inside front. We were walked to the back and seated in the outside garden area. Tables are on small rocks, plants are pretty to look at -- it was a delightful ambience. There was one waiter serving ALL the tables, and to my surprise, he did a great job with such attention to detail. Overall, he was a delightful, professional waiter. The additional servers were so efficient, polite and on top of their game. We started with the flat bread: Wonderful crust, incredible roasted garlic paste with a habanero cheese that was not overpowering. Such a nice balance of flavor. The two of us devoured it. Enjoyed my peach Prosecco which appeared to be a Prosecco with peach nectar, perhaps? Not sure exactly, but it was very refreshing and not too sweet. The cioppino was out of this world! It's so hard to find a good cioppino in Long Beach. It had so much depth of flavor with a little hint of spice and the seafood was fresh! My partner wiped his bowl clean. My dish was the parpadelle in a lobster sauce. The pasta tasted homemade, the bits of lobster (about 6oz) were carried throughout the dish where I experienced a wonderful creamy lobster flavor in every bite. I usually take home what I don't finish, but I couldn't stop eating it. Lastly, Chocolate Spumoni ice cream bomb is a must to try. Priced well at $10. Great quality in this dessert all around. The Parmesan cheese wheel dish looked incredible as it was prepared table side next to us. That's going to be my go to when I return. This restaurant is a treasure for Italian food in Long Beach.

Then I had the caprese, what a stunning salad this is! The avocado was a bit random to me as I have never seen one with a caprese before and it was hard as a rock, but still ate the whole thing. I ordered the pasta alla routa Cacio E Pepe which I did not realize was $65 upon the time of ordering, but that's on me for not looking that closely. They told me ahead of time when it was coming out so I could video it being made inside the cheese wheel if I wanted since they couldn't come to me being that the backyard is covered in rocks. Thought this was nice since I paid so much for it, may as well be able to share the experience with others. I enjoyed two glasses of sangria with my dinner and finished with some pistachio gelato. All in all a great experience, I just wish the pasta was like $20 cheaper but lesson learned. I don't know that I would come here often since I spent $190 on dinner for myself, but I would come back for date night, or an anniversary, or a special occasion, and have already recommended since going.

I always get the seasoned potatoes and of course, I have to get a side of their daily muffin. So good! The prices are very affordable, especially for the quality and portions of the food. The service has always been really good whenever I've dined in as well. The only downside is that it can get very crowded, but honestly, I can see why considering how good the food is and how reasonable the prices are. Because it gets so busy, I usually order takeout, and I've always had a great experience. My orders have been ready, everything tastes just as good, and I've never had any complaints. The restaurant itself is also really cute with a nice, casual, and welcoming ambiance. Definitely one of those reliable breakfast spots that I keep going back to!

It was okay--nothing particularly bad about it, but also nothing memorable that would make me want to order it again. For the price and the reputation of this place, I expected more. We also ordered the chili cheese fries, and unfortunately the fries were soggy. With chili cheese fries, I still want the fries to have some texture and hold up underneath the toppings, but these didn't. I also tried the strawberry lush pie, and unfortunately I felt pretty much the same way. It was fine, but nothing that really wowed me. I understand why Bake n Broil has such a loyal following. It has that nostalgic, old-school diner feel and has been a Long Beach staple for years. I just think the prices are high compared with the overall quality of the food. For me, breakfast is still the way to go here. I've enjoyed their breakfast more than the lunch/dinner options I've tried. If I come back, that's what I'll stick with. Overall, it's a classic Long Beach spot, but based on this visit, I found the food mediocre and overpriced for what you get.

I love that they had interesting flavors and even seasonal flavors as well, such as hot cocoa. I tried their carrot and banana butterscotch with chocolate chip. Both were delicious but I liked the carrot one better. It even had raisins and pineapple in it I think. It was moist and the cream cheese frosting was yummy. The banana butterscotch one was good too but not as moist and the frosting was a little too sweet for my taste. But both were good. Besides bundt cakes of different sizes, they also had cookies and ice cream sandwiches. Lots more flavors too. I do want to come back and try their other flavors and cookies. I highly recommend if you are looking for al alternative Bundt cake spot in the area. Parking is easy since it is located in a strip mall and share a lot. It's a grab and go type of spot. Not really a place to sit and enjoy your treat.

The owner said he's reaching out to Yelp to get the incorrect gluten free listing removed, which it seems has been done. With that in mind I updated my review from 1 to 3. While I appreciate that the misunderstanding may have been caused by Yelp, the customer service (when in the restaurant) could have been more respectful and not dismissive/judging. The yelp page says they have gluten free options but that isn't the case. They had no gluten free options and the employee working acted as though the question of gluten free options was ridiculous. We pointed out that the yelp page says they have gluten free and asked if that's charged, but they rudely responded and said they don't pay attention to yelp. Maybe they should pay attention.
