First timer: The idea is there, the concept is there, the execution... let me preface that I rarely leave negative reviews, however, the execution was par at best. We are during lunch, so had the options of break fast/brunch (which is what they seem to be know for). I had the Shanghai tuna salad. I wasn't pleased. All Kinda if tastes and heavy in the mandarins and only 5 slices of ahi tuna which by color I knew wasn't fresh. I ate most, didn't complain. My wife had the panini. She claims worse than Panera, however fries were good. Overall I think it's a good looking place and the atmosphere is easy. The staff were all GREAT!

I love this location. The restaurant is so clean and cute inside. I love the modern feel and I love the lighting. Our server was super sweet and chill and let us stay and chat for several hours. The margarita pizza was delicious and a great deal for how much of it you get!

This was not good. I asked for recommendations and they were horrible. My daughter wanted pasta from there and I tasted it and it was decent. It was a shrimp and crab pasta. Hardly no crab and 4 shrimp. For $25, i expected more. I got a bowl of crab chowder. It was extra peppery and not enjoyable and a piece of the charlotte cake. The cake was so dry and crumbly. And not the good crumbly where it's like flaky crust... the actual cake part was so hard that it crumbled when I stuck my fork in it. $50 for those 3 items and it was a waste of time and money... it got two stars because the shrimp was actually cooked perfectly in my daughters pasta and the young man behind the bar who took the order was so kind.

We stopped by for quick lunch and a little break from shopping. Restaurant is conveniently located in Short Pump Mall. It was a bit after 2pm so late lunch, it wasn't crowded but place was visibly understaffed. Lots of dirty uncleared tables around. We were seated promptly after host cleaned the table for us. Table surface was left sticky and still had crumbs on from previous people that ate there. Our server came quickly, looked more like he was the manager and his service was excellent. As appetizer we ordered tavern chips loaded with mozzarella and bacon, crispy cheesy and delicious! I had their BC combo - tomato and cheese soup and Jersey grinder. Soup was just ok, thick but pretty bland and sandwich was nothing to talk about. So disappointed here! My husband had Shanghai tuna salad but was also bland with few slices of tuna, very unimpressive for almost 20$ salad. Overall tavern chips were the best and I would come back for that! They have happy hour daily 3p-6p and tavern chips are 5$ ( regular price is 10$)

Bumped into a local when recommend this place for brunch. Located at the Short Pump Mall. Wait for table on a Sunday was not long. Waiter was pleasant and eager to please. Coffee was decent. Swanky Benedict was good, biscuit was a little denser than I prefer but liked it overall. Daughter had scrambled eggs, sausage links, home fries, and biscuit. Overall good too, she really liked the sausage.

We were one of two tables at 2:00 PM. Every table was dirty. It was a 5 minute wait for a table. We had to ask them to reclean the table twice as we had food allergies and it wasn't clean. It was a 45 minute wait for our food. We watched out food under the lights for 15 minutes. We had to ask for it to be served to us. The bathrooms had so much dust and dirt, it was absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms at the barcade across the way were immaculate compared to this. There were five employees standing around at any given time today. You would think they would take pride in their work and place of employment. We were so disappointed and won't be back. Had to ask for utensils, napkins, refills. Food itself was just ok. Probably would have been better if actually served when it came out.

Baker's Crust has upped their game. I had the day off so my daughter and I decided to have lunch and support retailers. I wanted a salad or something healthy so we picked Baker's Crust. We got there at 1 pm and were seated right away. Our server greeted us quickly and explained the COVID online menu. We each ordered an iced tea and took a few minutes to look over the menu. I settled on the grilled shrimp and avocado salad and my daughter got a chicken panini. We started with the arancini and I ordered a glass of white wine. It took a while to get our appetizer and an eternity to get my wine. The arancini was really good. Loved the fresh micro herbs to give it a fresh flavor. The mains showed up a little later and wow, my salad was next level. I could have used more shrimp on it but that's me being greedy. The dressing was light and everything went extremely well together. I will be thinking about this salad for a while. My daughter loved her sandwich and the chips, which are a classic. Love the way they've redesigned the restaurant and opened it up. It has more of a bistro feel which I appreciate. Before this trip to BC, I had taken them off of my list because of a really bad experience, but they've earned a place on my list based on the meal and service. Glad to have a place to go for a really good salad.

This is still a nice little lunch spot at the mall. Is it great? No. Is it good enough for a reprieve from shopping? Yes! Now that Short Pump has gotten rid of their food court, the eating spots are limited to a few restaurants or Chick fil a. I was running some errands at the mall the other day, so I decided to stop in to eat lunch. I ordered the salmon salad with tea and french onion soup. The soup was fabulous. The cheesy top mixed with the savory broth was a treat. I don't eat this soup often, but when I do I always enjoy it. My salmon salad was just ok. Something about the flavors just didn't wow me. I think that it would have tasted better with a creamier dressing. Service was perfectly fine for dining out during a pandemic. I really hope that they get through this, because with the appropriate amount of staff and a little menu overhaul, this could be a knockout!

The Asiago Chicken subbed with Grilled Salmon

Wow, I was in town from southern NJ, I always enjoy stopping at Short Pump Shoppes/Mall. I didn't want something I could get at home. That brought me to this fine establishment. Got there shortly before 5 pm on a Monday. Rather empty but sort of expected. I was dining alone, that is ok in my book. I ordered from the HH menu, the caprese bruschetta, I ate every last bite! I didn't eat lunch so I was hungry! I asked my server Josh, between the chicken Asiago and the salmon dish. He said you could sub the chicken for salmon! So that is what I did. OMG - my mouth is watering thinking back to it. It was more like orzo than risotto, asparagus as tender, salmon was perfect, the dish was outstanding. It was an up charge of a couple dollars, but well worth it. Try this place out! Service was stellar. My only comment would be - dust the wine bottles near the bathroom.

Fast service and good food. I will be back at the Short Pump mall location ASAP. The smash burger with fries was great.

This location has gender neutral restrooms. Our order: a SmokeShack burger with extra ShackSauce on the side, a plain hot dog, the free fries with a cup of cheese sauce, a s'mores shake, and a complimentary cup of water. The verdict: The burger was excellent -- very juicy with a crispy, proper smash-burger sear. The ShackSauce wasn't for us -- it has an unfamiliar tang we couldn't quite place (Dijon?), so you may want to taste it first before committing. Fries were fresh and crispy, but I still prefer fresh-cut fries elsewhere. The s'mores shake was delicious, but a suggestion: get wider shake straws! It's nearly impossible to pull the mix-ins through a regular straw. App feedback for management: The app needs cheese sauce and ShackSauce as add-on options for online ordering -- we had to request them in person. Menu suggestions: Hot dog topping options are also limited; relish should be a standard choice, and chili would be a great addition. And personally, we'd love shredded cheese as an alternative to cheese sauce on both the fries and hot dogs. Worth noting why the prices run premium: Shake Shack uses 100% all-natural Angus beef with no hormones or antibiotics ever, and their shakes are made with real frozen custard -- spun fresh with real sugar and dairy, not syrup mix. The "fine casual" approach means fast-food speed with better sourcing, and you can taste the difference in the burger especially. IMHO, we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Only a couple of people in the dining area and about 5 employees behind the counter. When I went to find a seat, the third table I got to was clean, though there was trash on the floor under it. Lemonade was a cup FILLED with ice and topped up with what was a 24 ounce cup with probably 10 oz of lemonade for over $4. Fries were fresh, but the spicy seasoning was too heavy. The hamburger was sort of dry and not all that good. I know McDonalds makes a better burger for a LOT LESS money. At these prices, I was expecting a burger worth writing home about, but it was below McD's quality.

They have a very limited menu at lunch so you have a few appetizers to choose from, a few salads and sandwiches and burgers, so straight up American food. It does skew southern with crab cake sandwich, pimento cheese and fried chicken. For an appetizer we decided to try the wings. They were good and came with ranch drizzled over the wings. For entrees my husband got their farm & oak burger with Cole slaw and I got their wedge salad with fried chicken. Both were good. The salad was nice and cold and crisp, which was appreciated on such a hot day. It did have too much dressing so next time I might ask for less dressing or have it on the side. I enjoyed the food, service was good and it is a pretty restaurant. I'll probably come back for supper some time to try some of their more in-depth meals.

I might try again since I like the atmosphere and the service- and the fact that they do French press with lots of selections. Don't waste your money on the special lobster avocado toast though - it is not worth the extra money! Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. D'Asia got us a table outside even though they hadn't been seating out there yet because of a potential for rain. We got no rain and it was a nice day to sit outside. Inside is clean, bright and has maybe a minimalist modern farmhouse vibe. Menu has a decent amount of selection without being overwhelming with some unique looking opportunities. Cons: My friend ordered the classic eggs Benedict and I got one of the lobster specials- the lobster avocado toast. Not sure how long these specials are around . I asked for the eggs over medium and the toast to be extra crispy because avocado toast is not good when it's all soggy. When I got my order it seemed like the multigrain bread did not get toasted at all- maybe it was lightly toasted at one point, but it certainly was never crispy and there were no toast marks on it. There was not a lot of flavor to the toppings so I was hoping that it would save the whole thing but it was just kind of a soggy mess and frankly the lobster was kind of fishy. Also, the eggs were not done over medium as I requested. I could've gotten over this if the meal itself was any good but it was all pretty disappointing. I think if I ever dare to order the avocado toast here at some point I will definitely ask for the toast on the side lol When I asked to substitute the greens, which comes as a side automatically but costs $3.50 if added I was told potatoes were the only option to be subbed. I wanted some more protein so asked about subbing bacon and just paying the extra .25 over what the potatoes cost as a side (4.50) but was told I'd have to pay for it is as a separate side entirely, which is $4.75. No turning point is probably not the only restaurant doing this but it's pretty frustrating and unexplainable as to why I don't get at least the $3.50 credit that the greens would be. Or how about you just take the greens off and I get $3.50 back lol. D'Asia was kind enough to offer me an alternative by getting crushed bacon on top of my avocado toast for a dollar extra which I was glad I did because it was definitely needed to help with the flavor on the toast! And D'Asia was kind enough tonight charge me the extra dollar in the end. Unfortunately, I still got served the greens anyways which I was trying to avoid since cyclaspora is a thing these days My friends classic egg Benedict was just ok. She did find a hair in it, but she couldn't swear it wasn't hers because it was a windy day. Finally, it was troubling that there was absolutely zero toilet paper in the women's bathroom. Which we did didn't realize of course, until we went to look for it. There were only two stalls and we were both out of luck.
