First timer: The idea is there, the concept is there, the execution... let me preface that I rarely leave negative reviews, however, the execution was par at best. We are during lunch, so had the options of break fast/brunch (which is what they seem to be know for). I had the Shanghai tuna salad. I wasn't pleased. All Kinda if tastes and heavy in the mandarins and only 5 slices of ahi tuna which by color I knew wasn't fresh. I ate most, didn't complain. My wife had the panini. She claims worse than Panera, however fries were good. Overall I think it's a good looking place and the atmosphere is easy. The staff were all GREAT!

I love this location. The restaurant is so clean and cute inside. I love the modern feel and I love the lighting. Our server was super sweet and chill and let us stay and chat for several hours. The margarita pizza was delicious and a great deal for how much of it you get!

This was not good. I asked for recommendations and they were horrible. My daughter wanted pasta from there and I tasted it and it was decent. It was a shrimp and crab pasta. Hardly no crab and 4 shrimp. For $25, i expected more. I got a bowl of crab chowder. It was extra peppery and not enjoyable and a piece of the charlotte cake. The cake was so dry and crumbly. And not the good crumbly where it's like flaky crust... the actual cake part was so hard that it crumbled when I stuck my fork in it. $50 for those 3 items and it was a waste of time and money... it got two stars because the shrimp was actually cooked perfectly in my daughters pasta and the young man behind the bar who took the order was so kind.

We stopped by for quick lunch and a little break from shopping. Restaurant is conveniently located in Short Pump Mall. It was a bit after 2pm so late lunch, it wasn't crowded but place was visibly understaffed. Lots of dirty uncleared tables around. We were seated promptly after host cleaned the table for us. Table surface was left sticky and still had crumbs on from previous people that ate there. Our server came quickly, looked more like he was the manager and his service was excellent. As appetizer we ordered tavern chips loaded with mozzarella and bacon, crispy cheesy and delicious! I had their BC combo - tomato and cheese soup and Jersey grinder. Soup was just ok, thick but pretty bland and sandwich was nothing to talk about. So disappointed here! My husband had Shanghai tuna salad but was also bland with few slices of tuna, very unimpressive for almost 20$ salad. Overall tavern chips were the best and I would come back for that! They have happy hour daily 3p-6p and tavern chips are 5$ ( regular price is 10$)

Bumped into a local when recommend this place for brunch. Located at the Short Pump Mall. Wait for table on a Sunday was not long. Waiter was pleasant and eager to please. Coffee was decent. Swanky Benedict was good, biscuit was a little denser than I prefer but liked it overall. Daughter had scrambled eggs, sausage links, home fries, and biscuit. Overall good too, she really liked the sausage.

We were one of two tables at 2:00 PM. Every table was dirty. It was a 5 minute wait for a table. We had to ask them to reclean the table twice as we had food allergies and it wasn't clean. It was a 45 minute wait for our food. We watched out food under the lights for 15 minutes. We had to ask for it to be served to us. The bathrooms had so much dust and dirt, it was absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms at the barcade across the way were immaculate compared to this. There were five employees standing around at any given time today. You would think they would take pride in their work and place of employment. We were so disappointed and won't be back. Had to ask for utensils, napkins, refills. Food itself was just ok. Probably would have been better if actually served when it came out.

Baker's Crust has upped their game. I had the day off so my daughter and I decided to have lunch and support retailers. I wanted a salad or something healthy so we picked Baker's Crust. We got there at 1 pm and were seated right away. Our server greeted us quickly and explained the COVID online menu. We each ordered an iced tea and took a few minutes to look over the menu. I settled on the grilled shrimp and avocado salad and my daughter got a chicken panini. We started with the arancini and I ordered a glass of white wine. It took a while to get our appetizer and an eternity to get my wine. The arancini was really good. Loved the fresh micro herbs to give it a fresh flavor. The mains showed up a little later and wow, my salad was next level. I could have used more shrimp on it but that's me being greedy. The dressing was light and everything went extremely well together. I will be thinking about this salad for a while. My daughter loved her sandwich and the chips, which are a classic. Love the way they've redesigned the restaurant and opened it up. It has more of a bistro feel which I appreciate. Before this trip to BC, I had taken them off of my list because of a really bad experience, but they've earned a place on my list based on the meal and service. Glad to have a place to go for a really good salad.

This is still a nice little lunch spot at the mall. Is it great? No. Is it good enough for a reprieve from shopping? Yes! Now that Short Pump has gotten rid of their food court, the eating spots are limited to a few restaurants or Chick fil a. I was running some errands at the mall the other day, so I decided to stop in to eat lunch. I ordered the salmon salad with tea and french onion soup. The soup was fabulous. The cheesy top mixed with the savory broth was a treat. I don't eat this soup often, but when I do I always enjoy it. My salmon salad was just ok. Something about the flavors just didn't wow me. I think that it would have tasted better with a creamier dressing. Service was perfectly fine for dining out during a pandemic. I really hope that they get through this, because with the appropriate amount of staff and a little menu overhaul, this could be a knockout!

The Asiago Chicken subbed with Grilled Salmon

Wow, I was in town from southern NJ, I always enjoy stopping at Short Pump Shoppes/Mall. I didn't want something I could get at home. That brought me to this fine establishment. Got there shortly before 5 pm on a Monday. Rather empty but sort of expected. I was dining alone, that is ok in my book. I ordered from the HH menu, the caprese bruschetta, I ate every last bite! I didn't eat lunch so I was hungry! I asked my server Josh, between the chicken Asiago and the salmon dish. He said you could sub the chicken for salmon! So that is what I did. OMG - my mouth is watering thinking back to it. It was more like orzo than risotto, asparagus as tender, salmon was perfect, the dish was outstanding. It was an up charge of a couple dollars, but well worth it. Try this place out! Service was stellar. My only comment would be - dust the wine bottles near the bathroom.

Upon entering, I was reminded of a 1950s pharmacy by the humongous "Prescriptions" sign hanging above the bar, and the antique furniture, bar, and barstools splayed throughout Tarrant's. There was a solid crowd at the bar; it's clear there is a regular crowd that sits and hangs out here. We were promptly seated by a young blonde woman in the dining section (behind the bar). Our server, Nadia, was an enchanting brunette, training another young server, Sierra. She took our drink orders and gave us plenty of time to review the menu, checking in after a few minutes to see if we were ready. We finally decided, my partner ordered the 10" Bianca White (pizza), and I chose the Sailor Sandwich. Unfortunately, the sailor was not in the cards for me, and Nadia suggested the Reuben as they were similar. They brought out breadsticks while we waited, and the food arrived within 10-15 minutes. I was pleased with the atmosphere, the old-fashioned chandeliers, the large mirror, the floral paintings, and the rustic frames, all of which added to the restaurant's stated aesthetic. The pizza was hot and savory, while the Reuben had buttery toast, crispy corned beef, and a light smattering of sauerkraut (TBH, I didn't even notice the sauerkraut). For dessert, we indulged in the upside-down walnut apple pie, served with vanilla ice cream, all made from scratch, and beautifully delicate. Our time at Tarrant's Cafe seemed like a stroll into the past; the only indication of modernity was the ordering kiosk used by the staff. We truly enjoyed our time and had deeply meaningful conversations without enduring the hustle and bustle or the rowdy cacophony of an intense crowd.
