Nothing hits like a stop at Baker's after a day out in Joshua Tree! We always go to the drive-thru at this location, and the staff is friendly and they crank out orders accurately. We usually get a couple of BRCs, grilled cheeses, a frynormous, and something to drink. Fair prices for decent quality food. This is a great spot for that good ole Bakers food. Been a little while since I went to a Bakers so I was excited to hit this spot. I messed up big time by asking for a Papa meal, the employee was super offended and corrected me quickly and firmly. So yeah, they don't have the Papa and Mama meals anymore if it's been a while since you stopped by. The menu is super confusing now, kind of all over the place and just a lot to go through. I guess this is part of doing away with the short title menus means more individual options. The burger place next door is PACKED and has a long line down the road but once you get around that line you will see a large parking lot for Bakers, plenty of parking and the seating area inside is nice and there are picnic table around the perimeter of the parking lot. Clean restrooms. Employees were split, some super nice some seemed less than happy. Still a good spot to grab food and run but know what you want before getting to the counter :-) read more

I usually stop for a breakfast combo at Del Taco each morning. I decided to stop at Bakers on my way to AZ. They prompted me to try their steak and egg burrito, which sounded tasty. Unfortunately, what I got was chunks of unseasoned beef with eggs. The cheese was all at one end. The portion was fine, but I had to douse it in hot sauce but I couldn't finish it. The tots were the best part of the meal. The combo price was $12.45. I pay $8.25 at Del Taco for the same size combo and it actually tastes better. Do better Bakers if you want my $$ or I'll just stick with DT. read more

This Baker's location made my order over when another location messed it up. I had gone to a different location and on my way home I peeked in the bag and noticed my order was completely wrong. I had ordered a steak burrito and added fries to it to make it California style, however what was in the bag was a plain cheeseburger with nothing on it, and small fries. Now, if the prices were around the same I probably would've just sucked it up, but this was a $16 burrito vs a $4 plain cheeseburger. Came here on 10/12/25 and saw this promotion for the family meal indicating it is 35% off regular price. Regular price indicated $34.99. We decided to order this family meal BECAUSE it was advertised as 35% off the regular price. Once we got to the window she said it was $38 and some change. I told her it indicated it was 35% off and then a manager/another worker came over and said it is 35% off because if you bought everything individually it would be more so you are saving 35% by doing the family meal. First off let me begin by saying I have always been a fan of Bakers since i was a kid. But on (7/20/25) at 6pm I got the worst fast food i ever had in my life! The burger looked like someone sat on it, meaning the bread was smooshed paper thin, and it was incredibly dry and hard. The fries were dark brown, old, dry, and had absolutely no flavor (I only ate 3 and was disgusted so i threw the rest away). On top of the food being disgusting, the employees all looked like they hated life, like they ran out of their antidepressants!! The young blonde girl taking my order was whispering so quietly I couldn't hear her, and she refused to make eye contact. That same evening when telling my coworkers at the hospital i work at about the bad Bakers experience I had at Bakers in Yucaipa, a few of them who live in Yucaipa said, "yes don't go to that Bakers its the worst!!!" This tells me that the owner simply doesn't care and that this Bakers will eventually close. Take my advice and dont go to this Bakers in Yucaipa off the 10fwy and Yucaipa blvd. read more

But you know what? I *like* being able to ask for potatoes (aka tater tots, baby!) in my BRC burrito! And my kids like the tameness of a bean tostada with iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese. Because it's tasty, dude. Haters back off. Vegetarians, if you need quick drive-thru food, this is your best bet. The menu shows a little green leaf next to all the items that is veg or can be made with vegetarian meat. The Boca burger is worthwhile, and the veggie wrap is very filling. The veggie-meat they use for tacos and burritos can be sorta salty, so be warned. Maybe ask them to do half veggie meat and half beans? Treats: Their milkshakes have always been a highlight. They have more than just your standard flavors and there's almost always a delicious seasonal option, too. The butterfinger shake is my fav all year long. But sometimes a root beer float is all you need. Re their fries: I'm pretty sure they just revamped their fries bc they used to be kinda... well, limp and sad. The last few orders I've gotten have been nicely crisped and seasoned differently than before. In a good way. Drive thru can be slow compared to, say, McD's or In n Out, BUT their famous dual Mexican-American kitchen means they're essentially working two separate menus at once, so a few extra minutes are worth it to me. Order ahead on the app for a faster experience, and get rewards points. Just be aware that it takes several minutes for the app orders to appear in the restaurant, so if you're already in the parking lot or something you might as well just use the drive thru or walk in. read more

What happened to Bakers? Bring back the Mama and Papa burger meals. Bring back the old bean, cheese and green chili burritos and the salsas are terrible. The new menu is awful. There are several Baker's Drive-Thru's and all are about the same. We like this one the most because the service is just wonderful. They really seem to like their job and the orders are always perfect. We always use the drive-thru and then eat in the parking lot or nearby. They have breakfast, lunch and burgers. Their burgers are great. They are made well and the buns are always fresh and tasty. We love their fries. They also have a wonderful breakfast sandwich and their tacos are great. We have yet to try the burritos, but hear they are good. Have the best time. read more

When I go to the pumpin patch I like to stop by Baker's and get a cheeseburger combo in the past. I was in town and decided to stop by recently. I noticed they have combo sizes now like small, med, and large where in the past you ordered the combo and it was like med size. I ordered the small size combo. The size was okay. This place was off their game today. My cheeseburger was cold, the bun was cold it was kind of gross to be honest. The patty brought to mind "where's the beef" Customer service was okay. What gets my goat is they have plenty of outside seating but not a trash can in sight. Where are we suppose to put our trash? Don't complain if you see a bunch of food wrappers in and around your parking lot. Who ever the manager is needs to managed this place because he or she is doing a crappy job. I stopped here for the first time while driving between Palm Springs and LA, and I will keep this on my list of places for a quick bite. This location is drive-through only; they have a relatively large parking lot and some outside picnic tables (great during COVID), but no inside seating. I had the "Twin Junior" with a cheeseburger and a hardshell beef taco. The taco was very Tex-Mex and tasty. The cheeseburger reminded me of old drive-ins from when I was a kid. Fries were good and a reasonable amount--neither too much nor too little. Overall, very happy with this. I also note that while they have a good selection of breakfast burrito options, they also serve the full menu in the morning. Sometimes I'm not in the mood for breakfast burritos or McMuffin-style breakfast sandwiches and just want a burger in the morning. Service was very polite. Bakers used to be a no fail option, always consistent. Over the last year or so they have lost their way. I ordered a combo burrito with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream, it was almost just a lettuce burrito. My wifes chicken burrito was a disappointment as well. I was friends with Neil Baker. I remember him in his Bronco with the girls and his wife every Sunday at the Mobile gas station. He was always so encouraging and tipped well too. I was just a teenager.
