    Almond croissant

Seriously everything on the menu is fresh and delicious but the twice backed almond croissant is the best in the US! Service is always fast and friendly and the ambiance is perfect for carry out orders.

Came across this bakery visiting the junction in west Seattle. Everything looked so tasty. Homemade bread and pastries. I had a bacon and cheese baguette. The mozzarella practically melted in my mouth, so good!! Staff were friendly and line moved pretty fast. We were there around 11:30 on a Saturday morning.

We visited this branch of Bakery Nouveau, hoping to snag some paczki since we forgot to preorder for Fat Tuesday (or as Michiganders know it, Paczki Day). Per the cashier, unlike previous years, where they often sold Paczki for several weeks leading up to the celebration, this year, they will only have them on Tuesday. Apparently every single one is handmade by the owner, Pâtissier William Leaman, and this year, he's been too busy with the 2026 Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie competition as the US team's coach. That's certainly a great excuse! When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon a bit after lunch, this place was still quite busy with a line that stretched to the door, but not outside. As with the Burien location, I find the ordering process to be a bit of a pain; while there are plenty of workers to help, ordering is slowed due to the fact that the display cases are placed in a line and there's not much room in the building to maneuver to the desired display. In our case, while we had someone helping us all the way in the back of the line, we weren't able to select anything until we got all the way to the pastry case in the front. I'm not sure there's a good way to solve this conundrum, though. At any rate, we ended up only getting a single pastry (that was new to us) to try this time. Brown Sugar Pecan Brioche ($5) - This pastry looks like a glistening pecan sticky bun at first glance, with a cinnamon roll-like pinwheel structure and a brown sugar glazed pecan topping. Since it's brioche, I expected it to be dense, but soft, rich, and sweet. This bread is anything but. It's dense, dry, crumbly, almost clay-like in mouthfeel; basically everything brioche should not be. Instead of a sticky caramelized coating over the pecans, the pecans are glued on with only the thinnest of sugar coatings. The pastry doesn't claim to be a sticky bun, so it gets a pass there. Unfortunately the base layer is absolutely terrible, by far the worst "brioche" I've eaten in years. It has all the flavor of hard tack with the unpleasant mouthfeel of Play-Doh. Canned Pillsbury cinnamon rolls are far better than this waste of perfectly good ingredients. The owner should be ashamed to release this swill to the public. (1/5) Why am I giving Bakery Nouveau a 5? Because they serve some of the best twice baked croissants known to man. The Capitol Hill location is my go to for a sweet and buttery treat and I still recommend it to everyone that visits me, specifically for the almond and chocolate twice baked croissants. The paczki are no slouches either; probably the best we can get around Seattle. Bathrooms - Single unisex room. Note: There will be some walk in availability for paczki on Tuesday, but the cashier told me that they will likely sell out by 10AM. Looks like an early morning trip to the Capitol Hill location is in my near future.

    Tuna Croissant

A neighborhood bakery with various baked goods and pastries. Everything was fresh and high quality. The Tuna Croissant was crispy eventhough it's a cold sandwich. Filling was full of dills and olives. The Junction Sandwich (warmed up) is A MUST. Lovely croissant filled with creamy scramble eggs, bacon, and ham. The perfect breakfast/lunch item. Sweet pastries were good too but the savory ones stood out for me. It's busy but line goes fast!

This place makes my mouth water. I'm a total sucker for French bakeries...they're my happy place. Butter, sugar, flour = love. The quality here is always spot-on, and there's something for every craving: sweet, salty, chocolatey, creamy, or flaky. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a beautiful glass case packed with pastries that look almost too good to eat. Some of my top favorites: * Pizza (any flavor) - Yes, even Hawaiian! * Cakes - I've ordered them for my birthday; they're incredible. Rich, decadent, and satisfying. The pink buttercream with raspberry filling and the sakura slice are standouts. * Olive fougasse - Crispy, chewy, and perfectly salty. * Fruit pastries - Raspberry, blueberry, apricot, or pear danishes -- all amazing. * Macarons - Light, sweet, and perfectly textured. Service is friendly and efficient. Even with a line out the door, they keep things moving, you'll rarely wait more than 10 minutes. It's a no-frills interior with a few spots to sit, but space is limited. On weekends it gets busy and a bit crammed, yet it's still completely worth the visit. The energy, the aroma, and the quality make it one of those spots you can't help but come back to!

Bakery Nouveau is an absolute Seattle and Seattle area bakery! I am so fortunate to live in West Seattle and have a location next to me! The staff is always really nice and they all provide excellent customer service and they are always upbeat from my experience. The space at the West Seattle location is kind of small and the line can get long, so sometimes they have you line up outside. The space feels very much like a cozy traditional bakery/cafe. I enjoy the decor of the space. The food is absolutely delicious! I love their desserts, which are totally premium quality! They also sell sandwiches and bread, but I have only ever had their desserts. They sell coffee as well for a little pick me up! My favorite desserts are the tiramisu and the mocha chocolate cheesecake. Both of those items are incredible. My wife enjoys the pistachio cake that they make. I also enjoy the Paczki that they make. Paczki is a polish donut. They don't always have it on regular basis, but when they do, it's amazing! Overall, I highly recommend Bakery Nouveau if your looking to satisfy your dessert craving, or if you're just looking for some coffee or lunch type of food!

I've been to Bakery Nouveau a few times now and it never disappoints. It's one of the best bakeries in West Seattle. They will usually have a line when visiting on a weekend. We tried their twice baked almond croissant which was absolutely incredible, it had a generous almond filling. We also got the danish. Their display case is filled with a wide variety of pastries to choose from. The space is cozy with some indoor seating which can get a bit crowded on weekends. We also had the stromboli as the pizza options were not ready yet. They do warm them up and call you when it's ready. The staff were very friendly and helped warm up the food again after it got a bit cold. Definitely recommend them for pastries and coffee and worth making the trip even if you're not in West Seattle.

Some of the best banh mi I've had in Seattle! To be noted I had it a few hours after it was made,…read morebut reassembled it by toasting the bread and heating up the meat separately from the veggies. All together it was one of the best tasting and textured bites I've had. The bread was SO crisp on the outside yet soft and fluffy in the middle, and the pork was super flavorful. I love whatever marinade they use! I believe there was some sort of sauce / mayo inside too which added even more yumminess. I need to come back and try the classics banh mi next!

grey, rainy post holiday sunday had me craving something…read morethat generated memories of far away. i realized a good bahn mi would really help the spirits but my go to place wasn't open so i turned to yelp to find a place with good reviews. turns out gion is spitting distance from where i work during the week, so this made me even more curious as it could become a place i could stop by for take out on my way home. i didn't order ahead but you can. i opted to walk in and they were busy making two separate orders for people who had paid and were waiting. there were also two other orders sitting waiting for pick up so this seemed like a good sign. i ordered and paid and less than 10 minutes later i was walking out with a hefty sized sandwich that i didn't think id be able to finish. i was wrong. the bread is crispy and fresh and the sandwich is full of veggies and usual bahn mi toppings. it was quite good and i appreciated the heat level of the jalapeños playing off the cooling effect of the carrots pickled daikon. the sandwich disappeared so you be the judge. i think i found a place i'll return to, for another sandwich and also one of their various flavored milk teas. definitely a neighborhood business that's probably best accessed on foot but i think there may be a poor pick up loading zone right out front. definitely choose take out as there are no tables and a very small counter if you're thinking of eating there but in my mind this would be a perfect place to hit up on a lovely weekend day before going down to alki and scarfing their flavorful creations down!
