EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD! My personal favorite is the carrot cake - nothing beats that cream cheese frosting. The line out the door on weekends can get really crazy, so get here early. Burien location is more roomy than the West Seattle version and there is parking on the side. Haven't tried the pizza but pretty much everything is very good. I don't think you'll find anything low fat here. This is where the good stuff is. Ham and cheese sandwich is simple and so very good. I crave it. Pre-order goodies for a special occasion and cut the line. Cakes are so yummy and fancy looking so they work for special occasions. Many need refrigeration so ask if you're concerned. Pear danish has half a pear and it impressed the family. They also loved the tea cookies. They're little crumbly nutty cookies covered in powdered sugar. They have them packaged in little bags. They also make chocolates and ice cream. Bring visitors if you want to impress. read more

A++ almond croissant and chocolate cakes! Average baguette. Tiny store, whack system of helping customers, but if it works for them... Every time I'm here, it just seems like no one knows where to be or who is talking to them. They'll start taking your order before you've even reached the cases, so you can't even see what's available. If you ask them to wait while you try to see what's in the case, you get attitude. If you try to move around people to see the case, you get dirty looks like you're trying to skip the line. Also, it's West Seattle, so watch out for jam-handed children. They're everywhere! I'll deal with a lot of shenanigans for a good almond croissant, so... I'll be back soon. ;) read more

I've never had anything here that wasn't excellent. I especially love their bread and sandwiches since I don't have that much of a sweet tooth. They have seasonal foods too like paczki and king cake. Staff is excellent and keeps the line moving while making sure everyone gets served. read more

I want to like this place more than I do, but I don't. When I first walked in it reminded me of an old-school east coast bakery, they had Paczki and king's bread. It seemed atypical for Seattle, and I was really excited. The tables were full and there was a long line on a Saturday morning. I was intent on trying the "Phoenix cake". I read that this was their best dessert. The description is: a caramel mousse with accent flavors of pear and chocolate mousse, all on a base of pecan dacquoise with caramelized pecans. It just tasted like flan. I didn't taste any pear, or strong pecan flavor, and I'm not a fan of flan. I came a second time with a friend who loves Nouveau, and I tried a "Rocher": choux pastry filled with hazelnut mousseline and vanilla crème Madame and finished with a glaze of chocolate and almonds. It did taste like a Ferrer Rocher, but it was waxier chocolate and a large awkward egg-shape. We also tried the sea salt chocolate chip cookie, which tasted like any other chocolate chip cookie. I did try a vegetarian stromboli that was perfect. Not too bready, and a good ratio of veggies. I would go back for the stromboli, but somewhere else for dessert. read more

I once worked in West Seattle and quickly became a big fan of Bakery Nouveau. This little shop has the best baked goods in all of Seattle. I often tell people I have not had a bad item them yet. Some of the tasty treats that I've gotten here are... chocolate chip cookies, their Praline Dream cake, carrot cake, many slices of cheesecake, sourdough bread, ciabatta bread, King Cake (only available during Mardi Gras season, pumpkin pie (only available during Thanksgiving) and their house specialty Twice Baked Croissant...to name a few. My wife came in one morning for croissants, as she's been on quite the crusade to find the best one in the city. Her search led her to Bakery Noveau where they have a wide assortment of pastries. After placing her order, the employee went to the back to retrieve what I believe to be the "reject batch" for her. Upon opening the box once she got home, she noticed the croissants to be extremely burnt. I understand Bakery Noveau serves a twice baked almond croissant, but these were not those and should not have been given. My wife returned to the bakery to exchange the items, but the cashier explained they were sold out for the day and offered her a refund instead. We appreciate the gesture, but quality control needs to be improved. read more

Plan to walk 10 miles to work off the calories in just one croissant - just like Paris. This review is for Bakery Nouveau's wedding cakes. WOW! We had the best experience working with Jackie, from the very first interaction over email and throughout the entire process. We had a wedding reception for 400, so it was quite a large order. We decided to go with Bakery Nouveau because we wanted to serve cake that reflected our taste buds. We served two types of cake - a chocolate cake and something inspired by the "Maui Slice", which was a cake we had last year during the holiday season that we had fallen in love with. We were able to order several large sheet cakes and a display cake. The display cake was a two tiered cake, which we had our florist decorate for us. Jackie was wonderful with answering every question I had and providing thorough responses. She always checked in appropriately, was so knowledgeable, kind, professional, and just a joy to work with. One thing to note is that Bakery Nouveau does not deliver, so you will need to arrange for your own pick up. They do, however, provide very thorough instructions for pick-up and make it as easy as possible. We received many compliments on how delicious the cakes were, and we're so happy that it was memorable and delicious! This was a really cute bakery right across from the apartment building of the friends we were staying with. We took the advice of pretty much everyone to review this place and tried the twice-baked almond croissant and a cinnamon bun. The croissant was legen... ...wait for it... ...DARY. Simply one of the best pastries to ever grace my tastebuds. It needs no further explanation. The cinnamon bun was also delicious.
