The food was fantastic. We're staying at the Hilton and made reservations same day. We ordered the jidori chicken and the seared ahi and both were excellent. cooked perfectly and delicious. Our waiter Kris was lovely, kind, and made the whole experience a pleasure. She knew ahead of time that I had a nut allergy (written in the online reservation) and that we were there on our honeymoon. She spent time chatting with us and brought us lei's. Bali steak house is a typical high end steak house located on the beach in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The atmosphere is very pleasant, relaxing and comfortable. The service was unbelievable! From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, everyone greeted us with a warm welcome and a good bye. The food was very delicious, but rather pricey. The portions were on the small side. I don't think the food was worth the price. I personally would not go back there. I would rather go to Hy's, Ruth's or to Wolfgang Steakhouse for a good steak dinner. For dinner, I had an 8 oz. filet mignon and shared the Caesar salad and Yukon potato purée. Everything was yummy. To end my meal with something sweet, I ordered a chocolate mousse dessert. This was PHENOMENON!!! This was the BEST DESSERT I've ever had... No joke! OMG! The mousse was very rich, decadent, smooth and bursting with so many textures and flavors. Each spoonful was an explosion of yummy goodness. There were macadamia nuts, mini burst of chocolate crispy balls and who knows what other textures of sweet goodness in that mousse. It was to "die for." The mini macaroon and fresh fruit that accompanied the mousse was a great addition to the dessert. I would definitely recommend this dessert to all who have a sweet tooth. Our waitress (sorry, don't have her name, but she was a Latino lady), was absolutely incredible!!! I can't say enough about how much she made my wife and I feel so special on this important occasion (our anniversary and her birthday as well as I had asked her to "remarry" me). Honestly I wish I knew her name so she can take the credit for giving us such a wonderful experience. Other than her, the food, staff, and ambiance were breathtaking. The view from our table when we sat was like a postcard. The food was top notch! My wife had the jumbo shrimp cocktail and it was so delicious. The lobster bisque I had was very good. It had chunks of lobster and a lovely, creamy texture. The osso bucco was one of the best dishes I've had in awhile. All in all, absolutely amazing read more

My wife had a $120 coupon for this restaurant from her cancelled Delta flight. So why not? We thought. So we had a fillet mignon steak, Kobe beef (Ausie) salad, lobster bisque, and truffle fries, and wines. Well, the prices are "hotel price" to begin with, and usual service charges, etc. So of course it went above and beyond what covered by the coupon. I think the beef in the salad was better than the steak. Fillet wasn't anything worth mentioning. The best thing was a truffle fries, but at $14? Hmmmmm. We had reservations at 7:30pm and it took them about 20 minutes to get our table ready. We ordered three appetizers the octopus, the garlic bread and the cauliflower. I would not recommend any of these. The cauliflower didn't have much flavor and was not properly cooked. The garlic bread was ok. The octopus was one tentacle and it wasn't tender. The special dinner I had (filet and shrimp with broccolini and mashed potatoes) was good, I would order that again. The lobster ravioli was decent. The cioppino was ok, and the fresh catch of the day (grilled opah) didn't have much flavor. I wouldn't visit the restaurant again. read more

Just really disappointed in our visit to Bali "Oceanfront". They stuck us in a separate back room. We were a party of 6. My view was looking at a wall -couldn't see any view of the ocean. I really could not believe it. Isn't that what going to Bali Oceanfront is all about? An ocean view? It was almost insulting to get put in this back room. We did have a reservation too! As far as the food ...no one in our party said anything complimentary re the food. I had the Lobster Ravioli which I thought tasted very fishy...certainly didnt taste like lobster. The menu was very lackluster. Only plus was that our waiter was very good. All and all a very disappointing experience. To the manager of Bali Oceanfront...don't stick anybody in that small back room unless they specifically ask for a secluded private spot. Great food, great service, but a little pricey! The food was tasty! We ordered the rack of lamb and the prime delmonico with sides of crisp bussel sprouts and Yukon gold potatoes purée. The lamb was lightly charred and cooked to perfection! The meat was SO tender and flavorful. The prime delmonico was nice and juicy! You could taste the butter and seasoning. Also, we ordered it with chimichurri - SO GOOD! It's a great way to lighten a filling meal. The sides were also winners. The bussel sprouts were charred and served in a tangy, sweet sauce with yellow raisins. This balanced the salty, savory food items. The Yukon potato purée was fluffy, creamy, and served with Parmesan cheese chips. Each side is purchased separately from the entree. The prices ranged between $10-$15. Our servers were excellent - always checking if that food was tasting as expected. He also was thoughtful enough to let us know our tab since we were using a gift certificate. Our tab was right around $180 without tip. There's lots of parking available at the Hilton. Don't forget to validate your parking with your waiter. read more

Might be my own ignorance but it's confusing when there's a "Bali Oceanfront" and a "Bali Steakhouse" but they're one and the same and yet two and different. The restaurant that says Oceanfront is closed and directs you to the Steakhouse but doesn't quite say specially where it is... even though it's 30 feet away. And yet we made reservations on the Oceanfront website. When we asked a worker he seemed surprised we didn't know the difference but kindly walked us over to Steakhouse. Almost everything on Yelp wasn't on their menu and changed "two weeks ago" as of this review. Their dishes a quite small and not worth the priciness. Taste was good, not exceptional. AMAZING food - but TERRIBLE service! A real disappointment for an expected high end fine dining experience. I arranged a dinner here with our team during a Wednesday night and boy was I surprised on the service received here. Our waitress was great in explaining the menu and taking our orders: but after that she simply DISAPPEARED. Even when we were served food she was no where to be found and checked on us maybe once the entire time we were there; her attention focused on smaller groups where I believe she had to make sure of proper service for a good tip. Waters were refilled TWICE during a slow 4 HOUR full dinner with drinks, entrees, appetizers, desserts and coffee. The Soup and food was delicious but was WARM, not HOT when it got to our table. This was especially apparent with the Soup. The bill came to about $1300 - with guaranteed gratuity you can see why we were upset on the level of service we received. Having arranged dinners like these all around the country, I have to say that Bali's service was the worst yet in the last 13 dinners we have had. Meals are great and Service is good when you have small groups but for larger ones I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place. Not at all unacceptable! While I would give another place like this three stars for bad service the exorbitant pricing with smaller portions put even more expectations on service: which was virtually nonexistent. read more

Had a great time here. Started with a Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad - perfect, with a shareable side of Lobster Mac and Cheese. The spiciness of the Mac and Cheese blended well with the sweetness of the Lobster. Dinner was a 6oz filet cooked better than I've had at a Morton's or RC. Dessert was their house made chocolate cake with seasonal fruit - a terrific pairing. Service was spot on. Wine selection was limited (relatively speaking) but the wine steward had great suggestions. Prices are toppy here. Even with high quality food and great service the place could revisit their charges. I wouldn't go back if prices stay where they are as there are similar quality restaurants with as nice of a location at a lower price point. That's my only sticking point. Expect about $150 pp (pre tip....) on average if your going. Sure, it was good, but $$$ good? Hmmmm. Have to think about that question read more

Particular shout-out to our server, Kai, for catering to our every request, as well as the manager for stopping by our table to welcome us. We were seated right along the waterfront (although next time we will plan our reservations closer to sunset) which was the perfect location for our beautiful meal. We ate here one night while staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The hotel builds this place up as the nicest restaurant at the resort, so our expectations were high. Bottom line, it doesn't live up to the hype. Service was good, but it's expensive, and since that's not enough, even if you are ok with the prices, you'll probably end up paying even more than you'd think. We got there and were seated at a table in a raised area with a view out the window. It was great watching the sunset out the window and seeing the beach just outside. We looked at the menu and I decided to have the 10 ounce filet (steak) and a glass of wine. My wife had (and told the waitress) she wanted the scallops, listed as an appetizer, but as her entree; she also had a glass of wine. Surprisingly for a restaurant of this caliber, your entree (or appetizer in my wife's case) does not come with any sides. With that in mind, she ordered a side of mashed potatoes and I ordered a side of creamed spinach - at $14/each. When our food came, we were disappointed. She got exactly two scallops, and not big ones either; just regular scallops the size of a quarter. My steak was good (but not great), but the sauce my spinach was served in tasted burnt. I told the waitress about this and they gave me a complimentary side of asparagus. At this point, my wife also ordered the shrimp cocktail. My asparagus was pretty good, and her shrimp (4 above-average sized shrimp with mango cocktail sauce) were also good. We ate our food, refused dessert and left. We were not happy with our experience. We didn't like having to shell out about $30 for sides, something most restaurants just include. I didn't like that the spinach tasted burnt and it's ridiculous that our waitress didn't think to tell my wife her would-be entree was exactly 2 scallops. Overall, our meal (with tip included) was almost $200. That's an awful lot for what amounted to a main course and a glass of wine for each of two. This place is vastly overpriced and the quality of the food does not live up to the hype or justify the price. I feel I'm being generous giving this place 3 stars; the food was good but nothing special. I tried not to let the price impact my rating, but if it did, it would bring my rating down to just 2 stars. If you are thinking of eating here, here's a tip: don't. Leave the resort and eat somewhere else in Waikiki. Your food will be equally good if not better and it will be considerably cheaper. read more

I don't like to complain, and I don't like to write reviews, so I'll keep this short. I tried the seafood fettuccini special of the day, and it looked good but was tasteless. The noodles were very overcooked, the scallops were hard, and there was no seasoning. It was bland - the strongest flavor was cream. I sent it back. The seared ahi tuna was better, but still extremely underseasoned. It was not served with soy or ginger or wasabi, and there was no salt or pepper at the table to bring out its flavor. My dinner companion had to stop a random server to request a pepper grinder since our server didn't check on us after dinner was served. The polenta and green beans were actually seasoned well, and cooked properly, but that was my only praise. The price tag was hefty, too, at $55... $65 after tax and a (small) tip. I really wanted to like the place; the location is beautiful and convenient... But there are SO MANY other wonderful places to eat, and this one is so expensive, please consider skipping it entirely. read more

Finally got to eat here after a 2 day wait. Food is over priced and not worth it. The 90$ meal came with a 10$ steak that was so tough and cut like cardboard. I asked for medium and it came out very rare. The main course and deserts were very bland and tasteless. The servers are very inattentive. Our server Ernie was very rude and clearly catered to other tables while he did not care at all for mine. My family was treated poorly because we were not white like the other tables. We spoke with the beverage manager and he acted like he cared but took no action to rectify anything. This place allegedly opened up last week and I hope it closes down next week. This is a horrible restaurant and I do not recommend eating here read more

Ate here our last morning there and it was a perfect way to end the trip. The food was very good. The ambiance was beautiful, private and relaxing because we were away from the hustle bustle of the resort. Loved how we were half outdoor and indoor with Hawaiin greenery as our backdrop. We were a large part my of 14 with 6 kids and it was so easy to just enjoy a meal without distraction. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I got Da Surfer omelet and it was SO filling and so good, my energy lasted hours. Definitely had bites of the OMG breakfast Sando - very good except the bread was hard. The blueberry and lemon crème French toast was a hit. Ill probably get that next time. read more

Went for a celebratory dinner and enjoyed everything about this place. Mai Tai's were strong and tasty. For dinner we had Ahi tuna and the scallops and were not disappointed.
