Service is quick here and the staff is very friendly. We arrived early to the airport for the holiday season and decided to get a bite to eat before we boarded. This place was close to our gate so we stopped by and got seated right away. As we were there the place did fill up but it's at the end of concourse D so I think there's less traffic than other restaurants. The ambiance is nice and they have about 4-6 TVs to watch the games. We ordered quickly and and got 2 beers, split the hangover burger with the upgrade to truffle fries, and ordered a side of Brussel sprouts. The beers came quickly and the food followed not long after. The food was acceptable especially for airport food. The burger was good but I wish the patties were thicker. My husband liked the Brussel sprouts and I thought they were ok. And the fries were as expected for truffle fries. I wished we had been served waters and I forgot to ask when we placed our order. Over all everything was good. The server, Channa, stopped back by to see if we wanted another round shortly after finishing our drinks but we just asked for our check. Payment is done table side so it's quick and easy. I might have given a star less at another restaurant but being in the airport you can't expect the best. Can't believe how bad this burger was. A picture is worth a thousand words. The Ballard burger wasn't hot and just terrible. The truffle fries were cold and limp and had very little truffle flavor. You order from the QR code so there is no reason for the staff to approach or speak to you for that matter. There is not a lot of choices after 9 pm in the terminal. This joint was right next to the gate and I was tired. So, in I went knowing no full well that I was about to spend a good twenty smackers on mediocre food. I ordered a Diet Coke. It was delivered without a straw. When I asked for one, I was told that it was "company policy" not to offer them. Okay. I get it. The environment is at the top of my list, too. But, I'm disabled. My hands shake. I have trouble getting the glass from the table to my lips without pouring everything down the front of me. Apparently, no exceptions are made for those of us who actually *need* a straw. (And before you get on your high horse about *wHy DoN'T yOu CaRrY YoUr oWn?*, I was in an airport. What we ordered was easy, so we didn't have any issues, but noticed that others did. There is a sticker on the tables that have a QR code for you to scan and order - once you choose what you want, you pay via phone BEFORE you can place the order and they ask for a tip, again BEFORE you place your order. It took 35 minutes for our chicken tenders and fries to arrive and that was after we asked if they had received our order - to get the reply - yes, we are overwhelmed with orders and it was said in a snarky attitude! We looked around and saw that there were a LOT of tables not full - so I don't know how "overwhelmed" the cook actually was. To try and play it safe I ordered chicken fingers ( seems like it's something that is difficult to ruin) However, they were severely overcooked (to the point of dried jerky). So crunchy, but not in a good way. The fries were cold and soggy. I ordered their house sauce which was ok. Garlicky. I was afraid if I'd ordered ranch it would be some gross bottled stuff. Hubs got a fish sandwich that he said was ok. Same soggy cold fries. Ordering happens online via an app, so there are no opportunities to ask a waitress any questions. They seemed short staffed. It took a LONG time to get our food. I usually bring my own food when traveling for this reason but we were on our way home from a trip where I did not have that luxury. I must have been there on their first day of operation, because it was utter confusion behind the bar. I couldn't get anyone's attention for a quick bite and a beer before my flight. A bartender was trying to sort out a payment, but couldn't find the record - she ultimately asked the customer how much the bill was, which got laughter from other patrons and comments that it was free. After 10 min of Keystone Kops-worthy entertainment, I'd had my fill and just went to my gate. I should also point out that the place was the fishiest smelling restaurant I've ever been to. Wow, rarely am I persuaded to make a review. Normally I email the establishment directly- but in this case I couldn't which reduced a two star review to a one star review. Plus I have to be a little more creative in my choice of words since you are reading it and it might have an impact on whether you go there or not. Sadly(or fortunately based on other reviews), I never tried their food because the point of sale system was so bad that it was impossible to get a beer for over 30 minutes so I just stuck to beer. But the guy next to me waited 75 min for some chicken wings- TBH I had to leave before he got them but is was there for 75min and he got there before me. The one thing that was positive was that the beer was good (Elysian Dayglow IPA- not a true craft since they are owned by AB Imbev) and I was very thirsty... I sat at the bar and it was laughable with the amount of various people that would come up to comment on how poorly set up this restaurant was. Each server was pouring drinks, serving food, and busing tables . I am all for individual accountability but this was crazy, everyone was trying to get the job done but at one moment there were four waiters pouring drinks and a minute later there was no bartender for the next 10 minutes... The QR code point of sale system the every customer was forced to use was unnecessarily complicated (coming from a millennial) to the point that no one knew if their order was placed or not. The waitress I talked to was furious that so many customers had walked out without paying, which may have been the reason why the staff was relatively stand-offish from the get go. I shared that it was unfair for her to be stuck in an impossible situation because of the point of sale program the owners forced the customers to use. Then she shared that the reason why so many people could walk out was that she was taking orders directly from people that could not get the (P.O.S) POS system to work then they would without paying. Anyway I still couldn't justify leaving a tip, I feel $26 was enough for two IPAs even with inflation being what it is... Still it sucks for all the people that work there because they have been set up to fail... Again, I would have been happy to have to have sent this review directly to the Point of Sale system or the owner, but the email receipt did not have a link asking for the customer experience(wonder why), and the owner is not able to be found on google. I would not be surprised if the port of Seattle was managing this space itself, only the government or a billionaire on his rocket in space could be this bad at managing a restaurant.... I had to flag someone down to ask how to apply it (I had already opened a tab with my card). She said she had no idea but would go ask. She came back a few minutes later and said that the voucher was applied so my tab was closed. Surprise, they just closed my tab fully in my card without touching the voucher, then told me too bad when I tried to get it fixed after the fact. Overpriced, overpromised and overcooked. We stopped in for a burger during a layover at SEA. We were intrigued by the promise of caramelized onions on our burgers. When we ordered, no onions were available. Additionally, we had to order through a scanned menu on our phones, and this did not allow me to specify "medium rare". I got a burger that was wildly overcooked by my standards. I really DISLIKE not being able to specify how well done I want my burger! There is one bartender and he is not only servicing the bar but running drinks to the dinning area so you would expect the same curiosity from the dining room servers.
