Never again will I pay a tip before I see a waiter. This is an exclusively pay on line restaurant. Nice idea, but they asked for the tip when we ordered. I gave a small amount, just to pay something thinking if we had good service I would pay more. No one ever came to ask if we wanted waters and when the food was brought out, the girl didn't even talk to us. Just dropped the food on the table. The tip said it was going to Alberto, so when I had to go up to the bar myself to request a box to go, I happened to find Alberto. I told him what happened and he said she was in training. Not very good training in my opinion. The food wasn't bad, but not worth almost $50 for a hamburger and a salad. No drinks on that bill. Portions of the meat l were rubbery and unchewable. Orders are placed with a QR code. Our drinks arrived well after food. Our first interaction with a waiter was after we'd finished our meal and someone we had not seen before came over and said "Hey can you close out your tab, I'm trying to get out of here". All ordering is done via QR code on your phone. It took over 20 minutes for my breakfast sandwich to come after it was ordered. The restaurant was nearly empty, so I would worry about how long your food takes when they are packed. The ciabatta bread on my sandwich had a very spongy texture like it had been steamed. Very disappointed. I ordered truffle fries, a ginger ale, and a bowl of chili as we had a quick layover before heading home. Fries were excellent, ginger ale was fine, but the chili was ice cold. I asked the server if they could put it in the microwave to reheat it and he told me they didn't have a microwave. He did take it to the manager, who said he'd get me another bowl. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I recommend giving this restaurant a pass--basically, try anywhere else at Sea-Tac Airport ahead of this place. My companion and I had some time to kill, and Ballard Brew Hall was close to our gate and I was craving a burger, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant uses an online ordering system, so I scanned it and ordered a burger with chips (fries were extra, and I wasn't that hungry), and a bowl of chili for my companion. The sign on the table said "We aim to deliver food to your table in 15 minutes or less" or something to that effect. So far so good--we had plenty of time and were near our departure gate. A server brought us our soft drinks after a few minutes, and we waited. After 25 minutes, we flagged down an employee and asked her if she could check on our order. She did, and a few minutes later, she brought our orders--they must have been sitting for a while, because everything was cold. The burger was tough and tasteless--even the romaine lettuce was tough--I thought I'd bitten into a piece of plastic! Anyway, by that time, we were out of time, so we wolfed down a few bites and left. I received fries rather than potato chips with my order (for which, granted, I was not charged the extra $3 or so), which would have been nice if they hadn't been pretty much room-temperature. The chili was similarly lukewarm. The food was marginal at best, but would have been slightly better if it had been hot. I expect overpriced food in an airport, but the quality was horrible. That was $44 (including tip paid up front because of the ordering system) not well spent. My impression? Any other choice in the airport would have been better than this place--it's a disgrace to the good name of Ballard. read more

Food - We had the Pike Place Chowder. It was excellent with lots of clams. Also the sausage, egg and cheese on ciabatta was delicious. Service - Our waitress, Colisa was very friendly and cheerful. She greeted everyone as they entered the hall. Ambiance - for a restaurant in the middle of an airport it was a nice respite from the hustle and bustle outside. I have truly never posted a poor review before, but my husband was sick and green around the gills for a day and a half after eating here and I was very disappointed in my breakfast which was an egg white omelet. It was greasy and tasteless. Everything was luke warm, even the tater tots and the tea. I have a caste iron stomach, so I was ok, but really it was not good. I tend to ignore fast food restaurants in airports, but at least in those , you're not paying a lot for mediocre food. This restaurant is very attractive and the lone waitress was awesome. They just need better cooks. For those who say "lower expectations" , try the Salt Lake City Airport. They have great restaurants. Airport food doesn't have to be awful. read more

Wow! Just WOW! I will NEVER come here again. Our waitress was atrocious. I can NOT believe how incredibly rude she is. First, our food was ordered and paid for via the little scanner from the table. When I was able to flag her down I asked for an extra bowl for the clam chowder (as we were going to share), 35 mins later our food still had not arrived! I said "Excuse me", and as I was speaking she kept walking away completely ignoring me. I attempted again to ask about our food and she walked away AGAIN! Flabbergasted...I asked what was going on with our order she says "I never got an order for you". I checked my back account and the money was deducted and I showed her. She says I need a receipt. Well there was no receipt emailed or text to me. She comes back to the table and asked for the receipt so I opened my bank and all of a sudden the money was refunded odd right?!?!? Way overpriced, even for an airport. It was maybe my mistake to order a salad at a "brew hall" but I wanted something healthier than a burger or fish n chips. The description of this Chinese Chicken Salad did say cabbage, etc. but there was no lettuce at all. It wasn't cabbage mixed in, just a bed of cabbage with the chicken, oranges, and really salty chip things added in. The server asked how it was and I told him it was awful and that there was no lettuce but he laughed and said "maybe they ran out of lettuce back there" and moved along. So good! I had the Brussels and bacon "small plate" and it was fantastic. I am a regular diner at Seatac due to work travel, and this plate may be my favorite meal here. Ever. So I went up to Jacob, the bartender, and asked where I could order food. He pointed at the table and said to scan the QR code and then he walked away. I am a woman in my 70s so there is a good chance I wouldn't know how to do this. I finally figured it out and ordered. While so waited and waited and waited some more, I saw Jacob going to other tables and taking orders the old fashioned way. All of these other tables had at least one man at the table. It is amazing how much airport food has improved. Is had a BLT (minus the tomato because those are really only for salsa and sauces) with an avocado spread. It was really good and the fries were delicious. You could tell the fries were cooked in the same oil they cook fish and chips but I love seafood so I found this as a bonus. Tina was great taking care of me and you could tell she loved her job. If it wasn't for the manager, I'd give five stars. He was, in my observation, a little lacking in the leadership category. Maybe he is just matter of fact, which I can appreciate but do you really need to holler across the room to staff asking what they're doing or be rude to customers in the restaurant business?
