As others have noted, I came in on a weekday and it was pretty quiet, and yes the guy inside was chilling there, kicking back and watching TV. A little unprofessional, but it's a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant so whatever. Service otherwise was friendly. Food was pretty good. Beef noodle soup was good (though different than what I'm used to -- much lighter and with more vegetables) as was the corn and egg soup. Those things are hard to screw up though. This place is great! It's kinda hidden in a little strip mall and it's easy to miss considering how hectic it is just to drive through Valley blvd. The owners are very kind and will make sure you're doing ok. The food is also very delicious. My favorite items were the Mongolian beef and the beef chow fun. I totally love this place. I live right down the street from the restaurant and THEY DELIVER (with a purchase of $25). It's great when I don't feel like going to pick up food or if I am too busy. The food is great and I have never gotten anything that wasn't fresh. They're are also really inexpensive. The delivery guys are really nice and fast. I have never actually been into the restaurant so I AM NOT REVIEWING ON STORE EXPERIENCES!! The orange chicken is delicious and all of their fried rice is good. I have to admit the side rice is not always the best but it's not awful either the chow mein isn't greasy like most Chinese food places that you would go to such as Panda Express or rice garden, which is definitely an added plus. The menu prices are a scam, they clearly told me and I quote we never change our prices and we always print off the original menu, then they raise the prices on the spicy chicken by $3.00 over the phone. She sat right in front of us watching us and talking ish about us.(in Chinese) then we ordered she was like no you should get this, we're like no we want this so she argued about what we should get. Then we ordered white rice for myself only. She said no she only had a family size I said but im the only one who's going to eat it. She said no we don't have small bowls my brother said before but what if I want a bowl of rice again she said we don't carry small bowls. So we were about to leave she said no no I do have small bowls. Then she brought out waters, mine had a fly in it. Then she brought the bowls of rice and threw them at each one of us. I am glad I stopped and looked up Yelp reviews to find this spot. I would give them 5 stars if the portions were big like how I am normally used to when it comes to Chinese food. So happy I found this place!!! I recently discovered this little gem of a restaurant. It is not very big, nor fancy, but the food and service is wonderful!! Helen or Kenny will usually greet you at the door, and also take care of your orders. I've had many of their lunch specials, as well as the dinner special, which is great if you have several people with you, this way you can get a variety of dishes to share. Sung is the cook and his dishes are authentic and wonderfully fresh. The portions are very generous, as well as reasonably priced. My family and I had a HORRIBLE experience at this restaurant. Guided by all the positive Yelp reviews we arrived hopeful not too mention hungry. We ordered our food and drinks. At the time we ordered the server was nice and helpful with the menu. When we received our food - we were happy campers. Food was tasty and we were in good spirits already saying how we found our next Go-To restaurant. But this is where it all came to a screeching halt. Halfway through the meal I noticed that my sons glass of fountain soda (root beer) had some ants sticking to the inside of the glass. Some were still moving around inside. Mind you the glass was half full meaning he had drank half of it. We hadn't noticed since root beer is dark as are ants so they blended in and we were focused on eating. I was disgusted of course. I immediately stopped eating and showed my husband the glass. He motioned over the server and the server had the audacity to tell him it was Tea Leaves!!!! Really?!? Tea Leaves!! I didn't realize Tea leaves came to life and swam/drowned in drinks. At that moment an older lady came out of the kitchen and started yelling in her language at my husband. Mind you my husband was calmly talking and this lady started Yelling god knows what. They made absolutely No effort to fix the situation. Did Not apologize. Did Not even offer to take off the drink from our bill. I couldn't believe how ridiculous they were. My husband and I were determined not to make a scene which we did Not. But the servers obvious and complete disregard were beyond upsetting. My husband paid the bill and we left. We were totally and completely blindsided, disgusted and not too mention angry. As a patron we'd never experienced this kind of service. We came to the conclusion that the fountain where the root beer is stored might not have been cleaned in a While. It couldn't of even in the glass because I'm sure the server would have seen it. Regardless the point is that my son drank half a glass of ants and the owners yelled at Us for it. NEVER going back there again. If they had even attempted to make things right it wouldn't have been so upsetting but the fact that they didn't even apologize and even yelled at us was just unbelievable. I called in an order for delivery & despite the language barrier with the gentleman on the phone, it rather smoothly. I was told my order would be delivered in 30-35 minutes and I got it in 25 minutes! Not only was it hot & fresh, but it was delicious! I will definitely be ordering from them again.
