I was with a group of 8, and we had our choice of several tables that would have accommodated us. The workers are okay too, I like this little asian girl that works there she seems really sweet and I saw her working hard and serving us at the same time, I can't say the same for the short hispanic girl, (fyi i'm asian and mexican) she just never talked to us and had her nose in the air. My boyfriend and I came here to get a bite to eat before heading off to the movies. When we walked in, lady at the desk gave no greeting and told us we can sit anywhere very rudely. We sat at one of the booths that we chose and she proceeded to ask us what we want to drink. He got a coke and I got a sprite. Both were flat. I didn't let that bother me as much. Then onto the food when she asked us what we would like to order, my boyfriend gets the Mongolian beef combination dinner and I get the orange chicken combination dinner and hot and sour soup as our side. Got our hot and sour soup 1 minute after we ordered and I already knew that they made this hours ago and just kept it heated. It tasted alright. And here is where I found things strange as to why I put a 2 star review... Not even 5 minutes have passed and our waitress (note: this is the same lady that was at the counter/desk) speeds to our booth and rudely drops my plate and doesn't say anything. 1, that was rude as hell and 2, does it REALLY take less than 5 minutes to cook a HUGE, and I mean ENORMOUS plate of orange chicken, chow mein, fried rice, egg roll, and fried shrimp?? My assumption is that they made this hours ago or even nights/week ago and just kept it heated. Same goes with my boyfriends combination dinner. I took a bite into each part of what was on my plate. Fried rice was too dry, fried shrimp and egg roll were previously frozen (who knows how old it was yaknow?) so it has a strange after taste to it, chow mein was really SALTY, and *cue the drumroll* my orange chicken was hot on the outside and cold in the inside. Meaning that these were FROZEN and then reheated. Another way you can tell if your chicken was frozen and reheated is if the meat is dry. My boyfriends Mongolian beef was chewy and previously frozen as well. Usually beef would have some sort of little toughness on it and it didn't. Mongolian beef was also salty as well. And he made the same comments as me with the chow mein, fried rice, egg roll and fried shrimp. Came into the restaurant at 4:40 pm and got the check and left at 5:20 pm because I couldn't stand the negative energy the waitress had. So we weren't even in there for more than half an hour lol. So my issues are with the quality of the food and also, Bamboo Garden needs to learn how to portion their food. It's way too much food all in one plate. Like how can that ALWAYS be a good thing? It really isn't. Especially when your food tastes pretty crappy and not fresh. Yes, that's definitely opinionated, but I guess the large portions really get people's attention since the combination dinner is ONLY $9.25. People talked shit about this place, so I wasn't going to try it. But since I'm new to Ceres and it's the only Chinese food place that I know of, I decided to try it. Glad I did. Overall good food and large portions. Their war won ton soup was the best I ever had, and the egg foo young was right up there too. I would recommend it to friends. So far so good. My boyfriend and I tried out this restaurant for the very first time on Monday not knowing anything about it but we wanted to try it out because we enjoy Chinese food. We got the exact same plate, Garlic chicken, chow mein, & he got fried rice. We were feeling perfectly fine all day then on Tuesday morning it hit me hard. I got food poisoning from this place! I was vomiting, in the bathroom all day, fever, fatigue, stomach pain. Shortly after he got the stomach pain & been in the bathroom. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE. So I ordered the calamari, walnut shrimp, fried prawns, and the lemon chicken combo, and house fried rice. The calamari was very fishy tasting and tough couldn't even eat it. The walnut shrimp had no sauce and maybe 3 walnuts literally. The fried prawns were butterfly shrimp not the usual breaded fried prawns. The lemon chicken was very dry didn't even taste like lemon the fried rice that came with it in the combo was drenched in soy sauce and the spring roll that came with it tasted like it had bad/old cabbage in it very bitter tasting. The house fried rice had a decent amount of shrimp in it but had no flavor at all! Overall the food was not good the customer service on the other hand was good the two ladies that took my order were very friendly. I will not be returning due to the food quality. I really don't understand why so many people are complaining. I've been eating here for years. We also get delivery and they are always super fast and polite. The food is always hot, fresh and tastes very good. My kids love the garlic chicken combo plate and beef broccoli combo. The Kung pao chicken is great also. I have been here about 4- 5 times. Service is fair (girls seem a little bit shy). I like all the dishes I've tried, but I have to tell you, they have the BEST Egg foo yong I can ever remember eating!! The shrimp is my favorite! And the soups that come with it is pretty great too! I would go there just for that alone! I eat here knowing I will have enough leftovers for 2meals at home! It's priced reasonable, and usually you can be seated right away! I did order chicken in tin foil but wasn't to happy about getting it out of the tin foil... Some chicken did stick to it but other then that it was good... I didn't like this restaurant when it was a buffet, but I thought I would give it a 2nd chance when it changed ownership. Anytime before 3:30PM is considered lunch $6.50 after 3:30PM is dinner $8.50 & up, the only real difference is you're paying 2 dollars extra for a piece of shrimp and 1 eggroll, however the portion size is the same. I ordered the orange chicken combination dinner and was unsatisfied to say the least. The orange chicken was actually orange breading fried with a speck of chicken that would suffice for a mini eggroll. The fried rice wasn't at all flavor and the rice looked mushy and sticky as if too much water is added to the pot when it cooked. The chow mein was the only thing satisfactory and I still had a large amount of food leftover. I know my taste buds are probably more favorable of thai food so this review may sound picky, but I wasn't alone in this conclusion. It's safe to say I will not return back nor refer anyone. The place however does seem a lot more spacious and welcoming than the last layout, but the food isn't comparable to a 3 star restaurant. I would have to say FOOD 4 LESS franchise "Chinese 4 Less" is by far more tasteful than this place. I know the hispanic community favors chinese food, but if someone introduced them to Thai food; I have no doubt they would come to favore it more. read more

Food is always good however the service HORRIBLE!! Apparently the owner thinks it is ok for his young daughter to be left in charge and working in Yoga pants while she sits at the front with her mouth full of food and just tells you "sit wherever" no hello or any welcoming greeting whatsoever. She also got the order wrong and treated us as if it was our mistake. Then once I finally brought her lack or manners towards her customers and stated she was rude she told another worker "Oh well, I don't care shes a Bitch" after this we decided to leave and she replied "theres the door!" in front of the rest of the customers eating their meals! She is an embarrassment for her parents who have probably worked very hard to establish their business and she really made them look bad. I will never spend my money there again! read more

My niece and I ate here recently, and the food was great. Had sweet and sour chicken plate. The staff was somewhat unfriendly (as others have said before). I felt like we were putting our server out by being there. Glad we stayed and ate in spite of lousy service. But probably won't be back, there's too many other Chinese restaurants around where they are glad to have you there. This place used to be an amazing value and I would rave to family and friends about it. I noticed about 3-6 months ago the prices had started to slip along with the service. Quality as well with the hot and sour tasting like some bad sweet Ragoo tomato re-creation from a can. So, it's been awhile and today I decided to give them a try again. Well they've now removed eggplant entirely from all their dishes and I was told I would have to order an entire plate if I wanted tofu instead of flesh in my dish. The server was very good (one bright spot) and even told me that I could substitute tofu for chicken in a dish, than reniged on it a minute later when the boss told her that wasn't an option. This is now my go to place. Garlic Chicken AWESOME! Foo Yung with their "gravy" YUM! Chow Mein and Fried Rice also very good. And as another diner has stated the best Hot & Sour soup around. Not everything is perfect here, but I am willing to take consistently good over inconsistency any day. I can honestly say I have not had a bad meal from Bamboo Garden EVER! The waiter expected me pay her even before I had made my order. I been coming to this restaurant for about three years already and I had never been charge before I ate. First, This is such a shame for the restaurant. Second, I knew they had a very poor service qualities and I didn't care because after all my food has always been what I expected. After this incident, the waiter (the person in charge) shall be a shame of herself. I was very hungry, the host was very friendly, but our waiter was not on the mood. I took this very personal because I had never been treated like this in my life ever, in any other places I visited before. Just because I am Mexican does not mean that I will not pay for my food or run away before paying. I work as hard as the people from the kitchen does. This is a discrimination that I faced tonight. The chow mien I've had better but was not bad. If I don't like the food I would have left it but I took the leftovers to go because I did like the food. Also very friendly place. I will never forget how disrespectful this staff was. My gf at the time had some lunch there and needed to get picked up. I walked in and went to her table. As she was grabbing her bag and standing up to leave, I grabbed a piece of the left over orange chicken on her plate and ate it. We walked over to the cash register to pay and they rung up 2 all-you-can-eat buffets. Confused, we asked why she was being charged so much. The lady said it was because I had ate as well.
