Food was bland, tasteless, and seriously overpriced, lunch for one person to-go was over $40! While I was waiting to pay, the radio was playing with some very bad language "f**king b***h". I told the cashier that I was offended, and to please change the station, but she didn't respond. I was rather shocked to be ignored, and the tab for my to-go lunch was over forty dollars! Took a long jaunt over to Bamboo View due to a Groupon available right now: $12 for $20 for two people. We were really impressed with the family style meals-chose the A option-$11.95/person. Each person chooses an entrée and it also comes with soup, eggroll, 2 fried shrimp, and a wonton for each person. (They also had dinner combination plates available-not something we're used to seeing- comparable to lunch specials at other restaurants.) We ordered the Cashew Chicken and Beef with Bell Pepper. Cashew chicken was not shy on the chicken or cashews- love that extra crunch! Beef with Bell Pepper had giant chunks of green pepper and carrots- very fresh veggies and also not shy on the beef. We also couldn't help ourselves and ordered some pot stickers to start. Really good-although I haven't met many pot stickers I didn't like. The atmosphere was super cute, did not feel like I was sitting in a strip mall once inside, love the beautiful mural on the wall. Service was friendly- a bit slow to start- but food came quickly once ordered. Pretty far drive from us- but definitely will consider going again-especially if we have a large group craving some regular old Chinese food. Great value! read more

Wow, wait a gem. We found this place late night Friday for dinner. Very clean, comfy seats, and friendly staff. The menu was easy to understand and navigate. The soup was much better than most egg flower soups I've had. The egg rolls were tasty and well cooked. The hot mustard was awesome. Then the main dishes came out, great portions and great testing meat. The sauces were right on and the sides of egg roll/grab puff was nice. Meals were filling and had extra to take home. I always gravitate toward their orange chicken and recently kung pao chicken. Last time I tried their Wonton Soup and it was so delicious and reasonably priced! Atmosphere is clean and friendly. Staff was presentable and very attentive. The appetizers came out fast. I am not a fan normally of egg soup, however it was very flavorful and the texture off egg was the best I have ever seen in this type of soup. I enjoyed the egg rolls. This is probably becoming one of my favourite places the more I seem to come here. I've been averaging a monthly visit with my mom and her friend, and I've never been disappointed. You'll notice right off the bat is just how clean the place is, and someone behind the counter will come around and seat you almost immediately, and take your drink order. I've only been here for lunch, and they have a good lunch special. Entree with hot and sour or egg flower soup and an egg roll. You get the little crispy things with sweet and sour sauce as well. If I don't feel like getting a larger or slightly heavier entree like the beef broccoli or house special lo mein, I will go off the kids menu (same price!) and you get a chicken wing instead of an egg roll, and I get the teriyaki chicken. While some other lovely yelpers have said food is hit or miss, I do agree with that in terms of Chinese food, but I've had nothing but good experiences here and the service is wonderful. read more

This place has a definite love affair with cornstarch. I am saying an overpowering awful love affair & addiction to cornstarch. I mean simply Awful. I lived in Asia and adore good Chinese; But it is so rare to next to impossible to get good Chinese stateside. I just don't understand what is so hard about it. A lot of the sauces are simply chicken stock, a pinch of sugar, pepper, sesame oil and then a pinch of oyster sauce, soy, maybe some chilis and rice wine vinegar. Most Chinese restaurants in the states know that us Americans just don't get this. As a result, they give us (what they think we want) ... soy sauce, garlic, sugar and water as a sauce and salt for seasoning. I recently watched a video on Netflix about this. (The search for General Tsoa's Chicken.) When the Chinese first came over to the states back in the late 1800s, they fed us what they thought we'd eat and it has remained so to this day. This place is no different! What they don't get is in today's culinary mature world, we want authentic. We came here like a lot of the reviews say with a Groupon. We both ordered a soup or should I say a "paste". There egg drop soup is so thick with cornstarch that one can put their spoon in it, and it would stand up straight never touch the side of the bowl. I ordered the wonton soup which actually came with a clear broth. It had some barbecue pork and vegetables in it. Two of the pieces of pork we're old and ready to throw out. The wontons, which I'll show you in the picture, had The tiniest smidgen of some unidentifiable filling... pork paste??? Again, I just don't get it. They were mostly just pasty dough. This is a HORRIBLE representation of what a won ton which should have: a filling of ground pork, seasonings, and water chestnuts with a little bit of cabbage. How hard is that?? For the money they spend on cornstarch, they could buy some fresh authentic seasonings. Next came our main dishes, after a 25 minute wait of watching the waitress run around like a chicken trying to serve the entire dining room by herself. My partner had northern vegetables on a deluxe platter. I had tofu with mixed vegetables. Hers was seasoned with garlic, salt, sugar and a very thick cornstarch paste. Mine had the same except for a bottle of soy sauce thrown in for good measure. What is funny is, the longer it sat there on the table as I picked through it, the thicker the sauce seemed to get... Again note the picture. I was washing the vegetables off in the broth from my soup, so I could taste them (not the salty thick soy.). We both left more than half our plates untouched. The waitress came by after another 15 minutes, smiling and asking us: How was your meal? I looked at her and said: Not too good. I also added, since she was Asian herself: And not very authentic. She gave me a blank stare and then, She offered to make another one and I told her: No thank you. When she brought us back the check she gave us a business card that had a five dollar off discount for our next visit. No way is that happening! I handed it to a gentleman who was dining by himself. Another adventure in our many travels to find an authentic Chinese place. I think I will have to go back to Asia to get it... Maybe San Francisco or New York Chinatown might be a bit closer. read more

I was really impressed with our Bamboo View meal! Ordering is super easy online - lots of options to choose from and it's all reasonably priced. Make sure you scroll down and view the dinner combo meals before you check out (they're the same price as a normal meal but come with crab rangoon/egg roll + soup). We also used a coupon for a free order of egg rolls. We picked up the meal and the interior looked clean and nice. The portions are large like always and I really liked my cashew chicken. I ordered the sweet and sour pork dinner with steamed rice and hot and sour soup. My husband ordered the beef chow fun. The hot and sour soup was not liquidy enough- too much cornstarch in the soup and not enough of the other ingredients. I had chunks of cornstarchy looking pieces in my soup, but I did not like that I taste the sour and spicyness kind of. The crab rangoon and eggrolls were okay, but not amazjng. Crab rangoon was missing probably sugar or something other ingredient that would have made it better. However, on Thursday, I wanted an order of their 'House Lo mein' and so stopped in and requested a take out. When i got home, I found in the entire order one shrimp, a piece of what could have been described as beef (I guess) and two tiny slices of chicken. I work in a no man's land and can't go out to lunch without driving at least 15 minutes. There are limited options for a sitdown meal near my office, and this is one of them. So I tried it out with a friend. The place was nearly empty around 1 p.m. on a Tuesday. I was greeted immediately and given a menu. Our server was very friendly, polite, and attentive, and the restaurant was comfortable and clean. You probably can't beat the prices. The lunch special, which included soup and an egg roll, was only $7. This was not a lunch portion though; you get a large amount of food. That being said, the food was just okay. Ordered takeout three times from Bamboo View and each time our order arrived fast, fresh and hot. The quality of their food and generous portions makes this one of my favorites in Tucson. I love egg foo young and their house version is my favorite! I tried the chef special Singapore Rice Noodle (also house version) and this might be my new favorite....I had to order it two nights in a row because I couldn't stop craving it. I also recommend their pot stickers (fresh and not greasy) in addition to their crab puffs....sauces that come with are very good. Drove by the restaurant last night and it looked clean and modern as expected....will dine-in someday (hopefully soon) for sure. Overall, my favorite Chinese food spot in Tucson! This place does it right! I have to say, bamboo view has probably some f the best Chinese food here in Tucson. It's was hot and delicious. With big proportions, you can't go wrong! I got the General Toa's and my lady got the chicken lo mein. We had started with a appetizer sampler that consisted of ribs, shrimp, potstickers and something else that I can't quite recall. However, all of it was excellent! Definitely hit home with my cravings. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars was because our boba tea took quite a long time to get out. It was good, very authentic boba tea but was a wait. Maybe they had to cook the boba first, not sure but it was a while before we got them. Besides that, the place was clean and the staff friendly. Me and my son were served rotten eggs in our egg drop soup. We showed the server and all she did was tell us that the cook removed the remainder of the soup. No apology our anything else. They added a 18% tip to our bill there were only 4 of us. They did remove that from our bill after asking about it. The server was rude to my wife and my 10 year old son. She asked who needed refills and my son said yes please and she totally ignored him. Unfortunately we forgot to grab our receipt but I do have my Groupon that I used.
