Tried this place for the first and last time. Was hoping for a quick meal before heading home. The restaurant was empty except for the two table that entered after us. Food took so long we had to get it to go. In 40 minutes they hadn't even brought us our soup. After I asked the young waitress why the other tables that arrived after us got their food before we even got our soup, she rudely responded with sorry have a great night! Rude staff, slow service. However it took about 15 minutes to wave down the waitress just to get our order in.. when are soups arrived it took about another 15 minutes to receive some chili oil.. we had to get up and go to the counter to retrieve it our self.. The waitresses were constantly on their phones.. One time the waitress walk by our table and knocked off the chopsticks off the table and just turned around and walked away.. she also reached over me to me trying to grab a bowl on the other side of the table and pushing her shoulder in to my face.. We have always been bamboo view fans but tonight they truly shined! It was outstanding because they share a menu with dragon palace we accidentally called the wrong location. We got our food and it was horrible nothing looked or tasted good at all. We were so disappointed that we went to the store found out we had called the the wrong location we called dragon palace and a very smart and wonderful Sally said because we were unhappy she would call bamboo view and have them make our order over again. We really enjoyed this place. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated; even the bathrooms are tidy and decorated. The food was very tasty, good size portion, and nicely priced. I've been meaning to try this place for a while but I didn't realize where it was! I was getting my tires replaced next door and decided to try it. Now I wish I would have tried it sooner! We were greeted right away, (which is super important to me) we sat down and our drink orders were taken. My husband and I decided to order the lunch special which comes with an entree, egg roll, fried or white rice and your choice of soup. I ordered the general Tso's chicken and my husband got the Mongolian beef. Wowzers! The veggies on my dish were so fresh and crisp they literally squeaked in my mouth. The chicken was fresh and hot. The first thing you notice when you walk in is how clean the place is... and first impressions go a a long way. I have only been for lunch and I can say that the lunch specials give you a substantial portion very fairly priced. You get soup, egg roll and white or fried rice with your lunch special. My go to Chinese dish is Lo Mein and their House Lo Mein ($6.95 on the lunch menu) did not disappoint. Chicken, beef and perfectly cooked shrimp laced throughout a bed of noodles and vegetables, served tongue-blistering hot. As a matter of fact, all of the dishes I have had there have been fresh and served hot, with little wait. The pork and hot garlic sauce on my last visit was a deviation for me and maybe just wasn't my cup of tea, but still tasty. I usually go with the guys from work and this is a little bit of a drive but we will go out of our way to come here. Over all the food was a disappointing 2 Stars, but I'm giving it 3 Stars because the waitress was pleasant and the Crab Rangoon was yummy. We ordered Family Style B for two, Hot and Sour soup was good, not great, but better than others I've tasted. The Moo Shu Pork was very disappointing, unappealing, and overcooked. It looked and tasted as if it had been made two or three days before. It was served with cheap store bought flour Tortillas and not Asian 'pancakes'. The Shrimp in Hot Garlic Sauce was okay (closer to icky). The few shrimp were perfectly cooked, but the rest of it was a weird mix of fishy tasting goo. I usually like fish sauce in dishes, but this was missing 'balance'. The stir-fried rice was puzzling! it was almost like they soaked it in brown dye then threw on top a few American peas and carrots. It did have a couple, literally two, tiny bits of tasty egg. Lovely crab rangoon. Good, not great, egg rolls. Fatty, as in blubbery, BBQ Ribs, but at least the meat part wasn't over cooked...our dog thought those were wonderful. We used the $12 Groupon for $20 of food, I wouldn't go here again even with a Groupon. My husband went in to pay, saw the employee answering the phone, didn't wash his hands, and then went to the line to place food into the boxes with his BARE HANDS!!!!!!!!!!! He was disgusted and left and when the guy called us back he told him "yeah I left because I saw you didn't wash your hands, you weren't using gloves, and saw you touch the food!!". Delicious! The kids menu portions are huge and my 15 year old said it was more than enough. The sizzling rice soup was the best. The meat pho had a very authentic broth. I just moved to this side of town, and needed a place that would deliver some Asian food. I checked out yelp and this place had some good reviews. I ordered chicken lo mein and Mongolian beef which came to $21 before tip (slightly pricey). It only took about 15 minutes to get to my place which was awesome. I opened it up and the portions were slightly smaller then what I was use to getting, but they sure made up for that in taste. This was very very tasty food, and I say that having gone to a lot of Asian places in town. If this is what is just the basic meals, I will Def be back for some more. If you are on this side of town give it a shot. Just know that for delivery you will be paying a decent amount, especially if you are ordering for a family. read more

There are VERY few restaurants in Tucson that offer A Groupon. I really wish more would because it is a great way to get people to try a new spot. I purchased a 22$ Groupon for a 40$ meal and I couldn't be happier I did. Since I didn't know the prices at Bamboo View, I thought I'd play it safe and get the larger Groupon. After perusing the menu, I realized I could've easily bought the 20$ one for 12$ and been perfectly content. I ordered a shrimp entree and some wonton soup. My wife had sweet n sour chicken and the hot n sour. Everything was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. I mean each item was better than anywhere else I'd had it anywhere in town. They also serve sweet n sour pork. I haven't tried it anywhere else as it isn't always offered on menus here in town. It was very good. We've returned several times to dine in or to pick something up to take home. Each time every single item has been excellent!!! Every single time...every single thing we ordered. I could go on all day here but I think my point had been made. If you live anywhere in Tucson, Bamboo View is a must if you really want to take your Chinese dining to the next level! Worst chinese food I have ever eaten. Starting with not getting all of our food that we ordered, we got half the order. Ordered General So's chicken, it looked chicken nuggets from the grocery store with sauce splashed over it. Brown rice came with chicken and beef pcs in it, no taste at all to either one of them. I ordered chicken, not beef. Who does that. They don"t tell you on the menu what you're getting. It seems a mystery. Horrible, horrible food. We can definitely cross them off the list.
