This review is based on my experience with one drink only, so disclaimer: it may be a bit biased! My awesome team leader treated us all to bubble tea this afternoon, and he ordered delivery from Bambu. I ordered a Thai milk tea ($4.75 on the delivery website, unclear if this is the true price in-store) with 25% sugar and no ice. When it was delivered, it had 100% sugar and 100% ice. It still tasted pretty good, but what is the point of customization if the customizations don't make it into the final product? The Thai milk tea was quite good, but didn't blow me away. It tasted very standard to other Thai milk teas that I have had. I did like that there was a lot of boba at the bottom, but I think the amount of drink given was on the small side. read more

So in order for them to not rip you off, you have to pay them more! That's crazy to me. In other boba shops, you can control sugar and ice levels, not here. I like the bambu franchise, it's a great modernized Vietnamese dessert options if you want something different. My usual go to drink is the pennywort with young coconut water since it's kind of a pain to get the pennywort and juice it yourself since it's really only best freshly juiced as it will oxidize pretty quickly. This shop doesn't do it fresh, it came out almost brown and there looked like chunks in the juice. It didn't taste any better than it looked either. Mine came out without any young coconut either, I had to clarify with the cashier and she took it back in to add. In the end it wasn't drinkable and I just threw it out. Also, considering there was no one else in line before or after us, I don't know why it took 20 minutes to make 2 drinks. Maybe not let teenagers run the place all by themselves? Location is right by Murphy street, across from orangetheory fitness. If you're lucky, you can park in front of the location. If not, just head across the street and park at Macy's. This place is great for studying, since they do have a group study room in the very back. (First come first serve!) They do have a few couches, and quite a few tables indoor (and 2 outdoors) for you to sit and chill too. Not sure what the wifi password is...but they do have wifi! Ask for it! Ordered: 1. Bambu Combo #2: red, white, mung bean; taro, pearls, pandan jelly, combo jelly, coconut milk // Slurp and scoop is the key here... +1 SO MUCH TOPPINGS, like a dream come true! +1 Strong coconut flavor (I mean, it is coconut milk). -1 Beware, it will get very sweet since all the toppings are sweetened. Pros: +1 Great service! Super fast and efficient guys. +1 Clean and great ambiance. Quiet enough to study, but average loudness to chit-chat. +1 Great menu! So many things to try.... Cons: -1 Kinda pricey? A cup of boba would be a dollar or two less, but the che here is around $5 a cup. However, it is very filling so definitely worth it! Tips/Observations: -Accepts 5stars! If I had the ability to give 3.5 stars, I'd probably do that. The food itself and general ambience was good, and they have wifi! The one thing that really made the experience not so great was the long wait time to get our pandan waffles. The milk tea was out super quick, so if that's all you're ordering, you'll be fine! Pandan waffle: delicious tasting, ordered it crunchy. It was crunchy on the outside and had the chewy pandan taste on the inside! They have at least 3 waffle makers from what I could see in the back, but it took them over 20 minutes to give us 3 waffles. I'm really not sure why, maybe people don't order it as much or there was only 2 of them in the kitchen? In any case, I'm not usually in the area, but the waffle was good tasting so maybe if I'm back there again and craving it I'll try it again. read more

I am usually not a fan of Asian drinks or sweet dessert type drinks but I thought I'd try this place out since I live near here. I went with the Awesome Trio and it was so delicious! The coconut milk offered a nice creamy base to the beans and jelly. I paid abt $6 for my drink which was good for a pretty good sized drink. Friede, I read your message and gave your store another shot. Stopped in right before closing and asked for the #5 with ice on the side, to go. Also subbed out pearls for pandan jelly and asked for the jelly to be on the side since it gets really gross and hard if I don't finish the drink in a few hours. Please see the attached photo I have uploaded. It finally makes sense why the last drink was gross and watery; majority of it was ice! When the drink was handed it over, it was filled slightly over half of the cup. Cupertino and San Mateo gives a FULL cup without ice. Your prices are already higher than other locations yet you blatantly cut corners. I pointed it out to your staff and she just blinked and smiled and told me it was because I asked for ice on the side and this is just "how we make the drinks here!" I paid and left, took two steps away and realized that when I ordered take out here, the staff doesn't toss in a straw and a spoon so I had to go back in. The same girl at that point then said "oh here's a few coupons for your next visit to make you feel better.... except they expire in two days so hurry back." UM. WTF. You had TWO opportunities to make this better. 1) Make me a new drink or top it off at the moment I pointed out that you were being extremely cheap and stingy 2) Use the coupon at the moment I paid for the drink after I realized I wasn't getting anywhere with my complaints. Oh... and I called the store to relay my concerns to the manager... only to be told that "oh yeah sorry about that, we're still training." Um. Shouldn't you do that BEFORE you open!? Worst customer service ever in terms of working on Net Promoter Scores. San Mateo also just opened and strangely enough they seem to have their sh*t together! Seriously you except me to go back!? This is the last Bambu location I'd recommend to anyone. Make the drive to Cupertino or San Mateo. Avoid this location. Think about it... You pay 1 dollar more per drink. Assume gas is at 4 dollars a gallon, at a measly 24 miles to the gallon, you save by driving to Cupertino since its only 3 miles away from this location. That dollar you save? Came here for the 1st time this afternoon since it was on the same route going back to work. This place is located on a prime corner area and hard to miss. It is a short distance walk across the street from Macy's and main road leading to Target. I did my due diligence a bit before driving off to this place and I already knew what I wanted, however I was a little puzzled when I got in line and looked at the menu. Seems that the website menu did not clearly reflect the same menu listings for milk tea. I was hoping to get a T7 hazelnut but instead almond was listed. So I had to punt and try another drink. Instead, I opted for the Che #5 avocado. I must warn you- the avocado is quite thick. I learned too late that the shaved ice topping above the drink is there for a reason- mixing it with the avocado, dark brick and pearls makes it drinking it more easier. First time to have dark brick- little did I know that it's coffee- now I won't be able to sleep for hours this evening =P Anyhow, the drink is very fresh. Che according to the menu means no dairy and gluten free. From the taste of the drink, you find neither. Very natural and refreshing. The server gave me a straw and long plastic spoon to scoop out my treat, although I'm having much more fun struggling to sip it through the straw. I understand that avocadoes are quite expensive, but the price is pretty steep for the #5 ($6.25). Milk tea alone is $5 with free add-ons included. A regular milk tea around the area runs about $4 with .50/.75 cents worth of add-ons, so the free seems to be already factored into the price. I might bring my kids here once to try but just the price alone will probably scare some folks away from the normal milk tea price range of $3.75-4.50. I was almost tempted for a Pandan waffle, but for $3.25 a waffle, I think I'd rather direct that money towards an 8 pack of Eggo's homemade instead for home. However, the ambiance of the place is quite chique with nice modern chairs, sofas are abundant. read more

If it's your first time here, the #1 Bambu Special Che is a safe choice with a lightly sweetened coconut water base. If you like something slightly heavier, order the #6 Fruit Addict Che with a lightly sweetened coconut milk base and assorted fruits. - Pandan waffle: If you love pandan, this is a must-order. The waffle is warm, fragrant, and lightly sweetened. It goes great with any of the che drinks and it's best eaten right away or else it gets soggy and gross. Service: - Slow. If you're picking up your order in person be aware the service is slow, really slow, so order AHEAD OF TIME on any food delivery app or directly through their website. The waffle takes forever to make and we've had to wait upwards of 30-35 minutes at one point. If you want a classic Vietnamese dessert then you came to the right place. There are many different types of Che. So it is hard to review all. But I love the 3 colors Che. It is has beans, fruits, and coconut milk. The dessert look like a drink because it comes in a cup but it's actually a dessert. I recommend you eat it with a spoon that way you get all of the flavors. I feel that in my experience that if you use a straw you will drink all of the coconut milk and leave you with the beans and fruits. The taste of the dessert is not too sweet and is rich in flavor. The best part of this particular location is that there is Disney macaroons. I love Disney as much as the next girl. The macaroons are to cute to eat. Each character has there own flavor. I've always seen Bambu on my way to Murphy street, but never tried it out until now! I'm pleasantly surprised by how decent this place is. They serve bubble tea and a wide variety of "Che's", or their own special version of tea with different jellies and fillings. I've yet to try those, but they sound interesting and I plan to one day. The bubble tea itself is pretty good too. Ive tried both the macaroons and mochi ice cream, and I'd say get the macaroons but not the mochi ice cream... the macaroons come in a huge variety of flavors and are 3 for $6. They're slightly chewy, and melt in your mouth... I prefer a bit more chewy though. Still looking for that perfect macaron place. Also, the flavors actually taste like what they are! The mochi ice cream was a bit way too frozen solid, even after letting it thaw for a while. The mochi wasn't very soft and chewy, which was a let down. read more

Great variety of Vietnamese desserts (che), they literally have every combination you can imagine. The taste is pretty generic and comparable to most places. I recommend getting the bambu special if you don't want the creaminess of the coconut milk and the bambu combo if you like coconut milk. The avocado che (5) is also interesting. It is not as sweet as the other che desserts but I personally prefer getting the avocado smoothie instead of the avocado che if you like having avocado for dessert. I was so excited to try their pandan waffles but unfortunately it was pretty disappointing. It came out soft and soggy and the pandan flavor wasn't as strong as I wanted it to be. But, the waffle has bits and pieces of shredded coconut which was interesting. I miss this place so much since moving to Cincinnati; a Che Wasteland. The service is always friendly and quick, and if it's not quick they communicate that to you early. The drinks are so refreshing, and the quality of coffee and tea they provide is also stellar. I seriously have zero negative things to say about this place. I used to come here often because I worked nearby. Never once did I have an issue with either the accuracy of my order, or the friendliness of the staff. I appreciate that they'd cover the extra drinks I would order with a little plastic wrap for easy transport. As if maybe I wasn't going to drink all 3 of them right away.. in my car... They have a self serve machine and then they call your name and place your drink in the box by the cash register. Absolutely no human to human contact. They also have hand sanitizer. After we ate at Ramen Seas, we noticed a Bambu location in downtown Sunnyvale. I always like Bambu and gone to a few locations in Milpitas. The interior was very spacious and clean. The Honeydew fruit tea is one of my absolute favorite drinks! It is refreshing, not too sweet, and has extras like basil seed and fruit chunks. It's good even without boba (though I still get it). They added a self service kiosk to quickly order without much interaction. Staff wears mask, there's a plastic screen, and have safe protocols. It's also right by the farmers market every Saturday morning which is fun to stop by and grab food or some veggies. read more

It literally was guacamole smashed into a cup with ice on top and a straw/spoon. I wanted a drink not a dip! Got it to share so we split the ice and contents into 2 cups and neither of us could drink it. Gross and never again. I come here for the pandan mochi waffle and I stay for the pandan waffle! I love the bubble waffle or regular. The taste is subtle but delicious. I like it crispy but sometimes they don't ask so you get it how they want to cook it. It takes a bit to make so don't be in a rush. Plan to wait maybe ~10 mins or so. read more
