It has been years since I have been to Bento and I had been a fan of theirs during my college days but now 10 years later I figured I'd check them out again. I got an ad that it was rewards week so better now then never to check them out again. I was Monday of rewards week so if you send $10 you get a free Mt. Fuji Roll so that's what I did. I know it had been a long time since I had been here cause I couldn't find my go to menu option at first but that's when I realized they must have changed the name. It used to be called the Spicy Cream Chicken but now it's called Pao Pao Chicken but I'm just glad they still have it. I tried ordering online but the site was having some glitches so I just called it in. Once I arrived my food was ready to go and it was easy to pay and get out. The Mt. Fuji Roll was good but wasn't anything special but hey free is free right and I'm not going to complain about that. The Pao Pao Chicken was like a remembered it. It maybe could have been a little more crispy but it was to-go so it did get steamed a bit and would have been more crispy if I had eaten in. I updated my Pao Pao Chicken Bowl to Udon Noodles which was as good as I remembered them to and for sure is a good servicing size. I am not normally in the area of Bento but I do see myself coming back for the Pao Pao Chicken. read more

This place has turned to trash. It's been over 4 years since I was last here; back then they were booming with customers and they had a lot more staff. Today, I walked in and the inside was dead; they had one table, a hostess girl in the front, one sushi chef and maybe a cook or two in the back. You would assume with them being dead, the service would be fast but no. It was extremely slow!! We waited 57 minutes to get 3 sushi rolls. A table who came in after us asked for a refund and left bc they took so long. Ordered: Miami roll, Mt. Fuji roll, deep fried Cali roll The sushi was good. They got a one star because of horrible service. Side note: I see they replaced their servers with self serve kiosks to take your order. I hate that everything is going AI/electronic; there's no more intimacy and human interaction anymore. read more

I hadn't been to Bento in ages but met up with some friends this week. It was fine, nothing special but came out quickly and we enjoyed it. They recently added roti to their menu so I had to try it and it was good but came out at the end of our meals so we didn't eat much of it. read more

I remember loving Bento in college but I haven't had the chance to try it again since, and honestly I just think of it as another chain now. But I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their poke bowls! The fish tastes pretty fresh, and I love that they have eel as a protein option too. I do wish you could pick more additions and toppings, but it's still pretty filling with what they give you. read more

What a shame that all of the other Bento locations are no longer in Jacksonville, but as always, the food here was very good! The menu offers plenty of options and never disappoints. The miso soup is great and only a dollar more when added to a sushi order. The service was also excellent, even though you don't really interact with staff until your food is brought to the table. The restaurant was nice and clean. We'll definitely continue coming back and supporting this location, I'd love to see it stay in business for many, many more years! read more

I havent been into Bento in years, so we were in the area and popped in for a quick bite. You order on electronic tablets then they bring the food to your table. I got the Miami roll and have to say I was so disappointed when it came to the table it looked so boring and definitely not worth the $16 price. There was nothing outstanding about it, it wasn't bad just not what I was expecting. Kids meal was good, and the people working were very sweet. Should have tried something else. read more

I ordered the build your own bowl the same way I did at every poke bowl restaurant and it just did not hit. The rice was hard and not good. It takes about 30 min when other places are like 15 max. I've had so many poke bowls and this one is at the bottom of my list. Portions are also not sufficient it's like half the size of a normal bowl. :( read more

- Drinks 16oz: [Reality] You got a baby cup to sip out of. All drinks come in this small size and for that price, boy.. go to a gas station near by and get a drink from there. - Protein: I've had their Katsu before and you would get a whole piece of chicken that would cover 4/5 of the rice. But apparently if you choose multiple proteins (which costs more) they will remove your original amount of chicken and throw in these tasteless tofu on) so now I'm missing 3/5 of my originally deserved chicken WTF?! - Japanese Curry (DO NOT GET) it's literally just roux from a box just water and roux, no potatoes, carrots, marinated meat chunks nothing. That's a damn injustice calling it Japanese curry. It's just a slurry. + Portion size: that's the only good thing. If and only if they portion the ratio correctly. Because they do come in a decent sized bowl. For that price just ain't worth it, find a small local Japanese location, they'll have some integrity and hook you up. read more

Grabbed a bubble tea with my mom while out shopping. The restaurant has outside and inside seating. They also offer a happy hour. We ordered a strawberry milk tea and Thai tea. The staff was sweet explaining the various teas to my mom. FYI they are cashless, so bring another form of payment. The inside was a great escape from the hot sun. Drinks were great! If you like bento boxes, hibachi, etc then you will like Be to Asian Kitchen and Sushi in Town Center. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It is your standard order at the counter, get a number and they bring it to you. We had the Garlic Broccoli Bento Box and a Noodle Bowl with Mongolian Chicken. We also had a Hot Lava sushi roll. It was more food than we could eat as the portions are large, especially the bowl. I chose low mein noodles it you can get udon if you wish. The food came out hot and was delicious. The sushi was large and delicious. The Hot Lava is covered in warm crab meat which was good but was a little heavy. Overall, this place is delicious and we will become frequent visitors. read more

I used to frequent the Bento in Gainesville, and when I saw there was on in Jacksonville I was eager to order. I love Bento. I placed an order for takeout and there was a significant wait past when our food was estimated to be ready. The restaurant only had about 5 tables full. While waiting for our food, several cooking employees were told to leave for break. I've worked in restaurants for years and value employee breaks, but I felt this could have been timed better. Whatever. HERE IS WHAT GOT ME Then a woman named Jasmine (I think this was her name, I could be mistaken) came to the front to deliver the washed blender top compartments and was told that it was obvious she washed them too well and with SOAP when in reality "everyone else just quickly sprays them with water" and to not wash them next time, just quickly spray. She was told the rest of the staff only actually wash the blender tops once a day at most. This kind of grossed me out and is definitely not what I like to know is happening behind the scenes. Especially when I was already drinking something that had been made with dairy. I wish I had video proof or something, but I didn't go in there looking for a problem and I'm not one to record. Finally got my food almost 30 minutes after the estimated ready time. Also heard staff commenting on hot regulars and planning to ask them on dates. Kind of gross. Kind of unprofessional. Probably won't be back. Wishing I was still blissfully unaware. Bummer. read more

Super tasty! I got the crunch roll and taro and Oreo shake. I used to get this meal in Orlando when I went to UCF. I was so happy to find they had one in Jacksonville. It's your typical Asian chain restaurant, so I wasn't expecting anything great. The boba menu is basic, but the jasmine tea was pretty decent.
