This Thai restaurant just got new ownership, new menu, new chef, etc. They have one of the most unique, authentic menus I've come across and wasn't sure what to order. My family and I all came here and ordered Cream-Cheese wontons as appetizers which BLEW US AWAY. We all got different entrees and... the best Thai food I've ever had! I ordered the spicy eggplant with tofu online for lunch and it was really good, very flavorful but my only downside is that the portion was small compared to other places I've ordered takeout. So I'm not sure if the portion sizes are smaller when you do take out vs dining in. The staff I interacted with was very nice and the place was clean, pretty easy to find since it was in a food court area right next to the Regal movie theater. read more

Like out of this world perfect, exactly what I needed at that moment. I got pad see ew (one of the greatest culinary achievements ever made by a nation) with beef. The price was right (like maybe $12??) and it came with some salad and rice on the side. When I say the flavor was perfect .... I mean I ate the entire thing despite KNOWING I was going to be in pain. Worth it. They give some sriracha on the side so you can customize your spice journey, which I appreciate. The beef was so soft and good. I hate the phrase melt in your mouth but that's exactly what it was. Service was really friendly too, and food was out quick! Obsessed. We love getting Thai food here on a regular basis, the noodle selection and the curry selection is our favorites. We always come back to get the Pad Thai and a curry dish as comfort food and we try the seasonal dishes. It is one of the best tasting Pad Thai dishes I've had since moving near the area. The service was great as well. We normally come here on a weekday as it's less busy. We would definitely be back to try more of the dishes. read more

Bangkok Thailand is one of handful places open at Food Festivals during the Safer-at-Home period. The open door was an indicator they are open for business. They are plenty seats in the food court, and many more under umbrellas under the sun. So patrons can order food to go then enjoy hot food steps away. There appears to be just one person manning the shop. I had to ring the bell to let him know I was waiting to order. When he was cooking my order, another guy came in wanted to order some food but he never came out to help him and he walked away after waited about 5 minutes. Portion of food was good but they are bland. I had to add a lot of chili sauce to add flavor. Based on that I filed it under mediocre. read more

My wife and I decided to try Bangkok Thai for the first time last night for some NYE takeout. I was initially hesitant because the reviews are only 3.5 where there are plenty of 4+ star Thai places around. Regardless, I thought I should try it myself to see. I was so, so pleasantly surprised. Is there new ownership? What's up with the overall rating of this place? It should easily be 4 or 4.5. First off, the lady on the phone was friendly and accommodating to my wife's vegan diet. So just an FYI for any of you out there. Second, the place is small, but I knew that. It's in the Foothill Ranch food court area. Anyway. We walked in and were greeted my an additional very friendly woman. She had our stuff all packaged up and she made my Thai iced tea. She handed me a huge plastic cup of Thai iced tea. I've never been given a bigger portion of it at another Thai restaurant. Probably way more sugar than I should be having, but it was really good. Not the best Thai tea ever, but among the better ones (and didn't taste watered down). We got home and opened up our food. Pad Thai with pork, drunken noodles with veggies, and a yellow curry with veggies. Portions were very good, especially for the price, and the food was piping hot. The curry was among the best I've had. I haven't traveled the world, but in my OC bubble I'd have to say it was probably the best. The pad Thai was also super good. I always have low expectations for pad thai because I'm constantly disappointed, but this one really was up there with my favorite. Was not too sweet, and was not bland. Noodles had a good texture too. Drunken noodles were delicious, hard to go wrong there. Overall, we were both really impressed. I hope they can get their rating up because I don't think it's fair at all 3.5 based on my experience. This will be our new regular Thai spot. read more

Tried this place for the first time and we were very impressed! We ordered 2 different soups, Tom Ka, mild coconut soup p, which is my favorite. The other soup was red curry , which was spicey, but they added more coconut milk to make it more mellow for us.....both were very good! The star of the meal had to be their Sweet Mango Sticky Rice for dessert, pictured below....it was a Work of Art and DELICIOUS! Food was just ok not really the best Thai I've had and too pricey for what you get. We paid $18 for a thin slice of crying tiger cut in to tiny pieces. Wasn't even enough for one person. That was disappointing. Sauce was tasteless I would Not order that again. Pad see ew a bit dry, chicken was tender. $13 and you get a small portion. I really wanted to like this place as it's in a convenient spot. I ordered shrimp red curry and shrimp pad thai for takeout. Curry: not happy that it was not what ordered. They gave me yellow curry. The flavor of the curry was ok but felt like it was watered down. They put small carrot sticks that were really undercooked (hard, practically raw carrots). Pad Thai: very oily. Normally pad thai is usually a bit oily but this was almost unpleasantly oily. Also if they put egg in it, it's usually scrambled in. But here they kind of put an omelette-like egg clump on top. Another thing that's not really a flaw but something that I look for to see if they put in some extra care is whether they devein the shrimp. I've worked at a seafood place before so I know what a pain it is to devein shrimp, but I think it speaks to the restaurant's quality. They didn't lose a star for it, it's just my opinion. Really feel bad not giving a good review for a local spot. Hope they improve. I will give it another try some time later. read more
