There's a substantial amount of fillings, both protein and veggies; the ratio of fillings to bread is perfect. Fancy pork and pâté is my usual order. I've tried the BBH (bun bo hue) with consommé dip, which is quite unique. However, the flavor was just ok and it was too messy to eat. The store is embedded within the medical building, but not too challenging to find since there are signs. The place isn't huge so no place to sit so you would most likely order to go. The Banh Mi's are good and prices are very reasonable. I've tried most of the Banh Mi here, and my favorite continues to be the combo pork with pate, fancy pork, ham, and mayo. The bread has a nice crunch and is warm/toasted. Lots of veggies including pickled carrots and cucumbers accompanied in the sandwich. Another recommendation is the BBHD - house special beef brisket with side of beef soup to dip your sandwich in, similiar to a french dip sandwich. The beef is tender and moist, and the soup has lots of lemongrass and slightly spicy. While the soup is good for dipping, I found it a little too salty to just drink. I've had Banh Mi Love on my list for a while. I'm really surprised I didn't make it sooner since it's in my neighborhood, but at least I finally made it. I pre-ordered the bun bo hue banh mi and dip for pickup before the shop was open for the day. Later, I drove to get my order, and it was already prepared and packaged. Once I got back to my place, I unpacked the sandwich for a late breakfast/early lunch. The first thing I noticed was the mayo oozing out. In the order instructions sections, I had requested "light mayo, please". Apparently, what constitutes light mayo is subjective. I should've just omitted it entirely. Upon biting into the sandwich, I was struck by how bland the brisket was, more like American pot roast than Vietnamese seasoned beef. It relies entirely on the consommé for flavor, which was a bit disappointing, as I would've liked more flavor in the meat itself. The brisket was sliced into larger than bite-sized strips, so some pieces slid out of the sandwich into a single bite, but then other bites had no meat. Also underwhelming was how mid quality the brisket was. One large chunk was pure fat and sinew - inedible. I'm not really sure what the hype is. The BBHD, their specialty, is just average - rare but not unique. I've had BBHD at another place before, and it hit the spot with flavor throughout. My friend raved about this place for their pandan panda cotta, so perhaps I'll try that sometime but skip the banh mi. read more

Hmm... having been raised on Saigon Sandwiches, it's hard to justify paying for a BBQ Pork with Pate at $11.75 and a Combo Pork at $11. My total came out to $26.71 for two banh mi's. Imagine that. The banh mi's were good and the bread was toasted nicely, but their banh mi's are noticeably on the smaller side and for some reason, it wasn't as good as my first visit. We were excited to try out Banh Mi Love but did not love it. Tucked away in the Stonestown Medical Center, you can follow your nose to the banh mi. Veggies were fresh and the carrots were not pickled enough. The pate was not enough to get that creamy mouth feel in the banh mi. Portions are on the smaller side but is relatively cheaper around $10, similar to San Jose prices but nowhere near the quality. This is a tiny spot in the medical building across from Stonestown Mall. It's only for take out as there are no tables or chairs to eat in-house. Because we got there around 1pm and dinner was going to be at 5:30-6, we thought to split a sandwich. I ordered a lemongrass chicken sandwich and a lychee hibiscus tea. After about a 5-10 minute wait, I got my order and left. My bf and I started eating about 1/2 way down the block and noticed we got a combo sandwich! I stopped by right at opening after my dentist appointment upstairs. I frequently passed this place and have finally jumped the gun and decided to grab a sandwich for my sister and I. We ordered the combo pork ($9.25) and garlicky chicken ($8.50). There was a customer before me that ordered 4 sandwiches so it took maybe 10 minutes to make. The sandwiches were a decent size for the price of a Vietnamese sandwich. It doesn't beat the inner sunset for the prices but I would say it's still cheaper than other places in that immediate area. The combo was filled with the paté, fancy pork, headcheese, ham with mayo. There was a TON of paté. So if you are a fan of that, then this sandwich is definitely for you. The paté was definitely the winner of this sandwich and I can see why they have the Paté and fancy pork on its own. The fresh veggie ingredients made this sandwich a 5/5 in my book. I had to transport it home which was about 20 minutes away and the bread was also still crunchy on the outside. All sandwiches includes pickled carrots and onion, cucumbers cilantro and house soy, jalapeño upon request which I definitely took advantage of there. The pickled veggies were delicious and you can tell that it was not just sitting there for days because there was a crunch to them. The Garlicky chicken consisted of garlic soy marinated chicken with the garlic aioli and veggies as well. The Garlicky chicken was good, but I felt like the sauce made the sandwich way messier than I would have liked and because I traveled 20 minutes home, it was super soggy already. I tasted the garlic but felt like if its covered with so much garlic marinade and aioli that it really needed more of a kick. Overall, fast service, yummy sandwiches and for those that are wondering there is plenty of parking for ease of pickup/ordering.
