I informed my server about my shellfish allergy, yet they clearly cross-contaminated the dishes because I experienced a severe reaction to the food. Upon contacting the restaurant group, Robert Blasi, the "Chief People Officer," replied rudely, requesting a doctor's note to verify my reaction and subsequently blocked my email. No apology, no effort to make up for such an awful mistake. My guest and I spent almost $1k on the meal and the response I received from corporate was disrespectful and cowardice at best. Honestly, the drinks and food don't even matter because this place is just totally a blast and I cannot wait for my next trip to Miami to go back! We made a dinner reservation for 11:30 on a Saturday night. Let me warn you, this place does NOT look like much from the outside and we almost bailed on sight. But we could hear the party and had faith that there would be more to offer behind the non-descript front wedged between two dingy construction projects. Our reservation was great because we got in and that was really all we cared about. When I checked in with the hostess, I asked for a seat in the courtyard (because what's the point of being inside when the party is outside?). She warned us it might be awhile. That's fine! I said. (By 3am, we realized the table was... not happening.) The drinks were expensive, about what you'd expect for mixed drink quality. I attempted to order Cava or Prosecco, but was told they only pour champagne, which is just a perfect one-sentence description of this whole place. So yeah, the drinks will be pricey, but that's what you're signing up for and you gotta just lean into it if you want to come here. I wish there was a little more space in the courtyard to hang out without being directly in the way of all the food runners, but c'est la. Those adorable string lights? The greenery? The KILLER dj? oh, and ALL THE FIRE. (They keep lighting the bar on fire. Seriously. I've never seen so much fire.) My high roller friend suggested this place to me and my girl. The helping size for the appetizers on average are less than 3oz. Last evening I came to Baoli for dinner. We started with the sweet and spicy edamame and that was the best part of the evening. Which is sad. I had such high hopes for what looked like a fun and exciting restaurant. My steak was salty and did not have much flavor. We had a sushi roll that was horrid. I am a big sushi eater and will eat almost any fish. That roll almost ended up in my napkin. Now to the worst part of it all. There was a photoshoot going on while I was there. The staff and photographer were all smoking hookah. I don't care what you do on your own time but to pay a 20% service fee for the staff to smoke hookah is absolutely absurd. Not to mention our amazing waiter, Tim, only received 1% of the service fee. Where did that money go? Probably a new hookah. RIDICULOUS!! I would NEVER recommend this restaurant, and I feel terrible for the young kids that were there. read more

My wife and I had this place circled on our calendar after reading the stories on it for the Wednesday My Boyfriend Is Out Of Town themed night. We are used to the Las Vegas and LA/OC scene so we expected it to be tight with regards to getting in and they definitely turned away some people who probably felt slighted but unless you have your "A" Game going on here, you aren't getting in. Wear heels and your best outfit if you are a girl and if you are wearing flip-flops and shorts as a guy, let me save you the trouble now and tell you that you have a better chance of winning the Powerball Lottery than getting in here on Wednesday. When we got in, we were treated to a pretty big show and the people watching is off the charts. It's like a sensory overload with all the bottles being popped and sparklers going off. We got some drinks at the bar and did some socializing and people watching. Our bartender was great and also very attentive despite having a billion people in front of her all wanting something like yesterday. We watched the dancers on the bar and also how everyone working there jumped when a soccer star and his entourage showed up. Cool night club that happens to serve very good food. We had a 7pm indoor reservation and even though we were the only ones there, they tried to seat us outside saying that the required seating selection on Open Table is only a request. The hostesses weren't friendly and because it's such a popular place with a hefty $$$ cancellation policy, they don't have to be. We were able to get a high top inside (which had an uncomfortably small table) and we ordered the chef's omakase meal. It was far too many courses and because the food took so long to come out we didn't even get to all of them in the two hours we were there. The food and cocktails were pretty good but I'd say it's over priced and over rated. By 9pm the music was really loud, the crowd was really young, and the vibe was very clubby. Great time for those looking for that. The line was very long and there was a bouncer by the time we left. read more

This place is really delicious . I love this place. I'm really picky but I loved this place. The skirt steak is such high quality and is amazing. The edamame so good. The ginger rice, to die for. The Kobe roll is amazing and is super cool because they flame it right in front of you. This place is amazing and I would definitely come again. A little later this place also becomes a club and has a super cool DJ. The prices are a little iffy but totally worth it. What a place! We had the worse experience one can have. My friends were visiting from out of town, and made a reservation for dinner for us! We were 7 people. When we got there, our table wasn't ready. And they kept us waiting an hour and a half to finally tell us we either sit in the rain or we don't have a table. Seriously?? There were tables completely empty that whole time we were waiting, and when we talked to the hostesses and their manager, they still mentioned that they couldn't accommodate us! How can I put zero stars? Huge issue with splitting check of 9 people! An hour extra because they said it was $90 short!! On top of that they charged $100.00 on water pretax and pretip. We thought we were drinking tap water. I called few days before reservation and told hostess that the check will be split, she told me to let waiter know in the beginning, which I did. BUT once at the restaurant was told that "their system" didnt allow it. I didnt fight it thinking it wasnt going to be a big deal--little did I know it would be! They charged 10.20% on sales tax when its 7% in Florida. That is illegal and I plan to investigate this further. It seems like the reason they dont want to split the checks is so its more difficult for their customers to figure out their little scam! They steal from you! How does an expensive restaurant not have the system to split bills? I attached receipt so you can see the 10.20% sales tax they charged. read more

Went for my bachelorette party and we had a great time. The food and cocktails were excellent and the music after dinner was super fun for dancing. Unfortunately our server was a total jerk (I.e. asked me friend who has a raspier voice "what's wrong with your voice?" When she ordered a drink, was sarcastic about us asking where one of our family style dishes was when it didn't come with everything else, smirked and laughed at my sister when she respectfully asked about something on the bill). It's a shame that the attitude of a server can dampen an otherwise great experience, and that this attitude is the norm in such a restaurant/club environment especially when we paid top dollar for our dinner. Also, the drinks we ordered with our dinner were significantly better than the ones we ordered at the bar for the same price. We got there at 8PM and Timothy our hot server made our experience SPECTACULAR. He suggested a bottle of champagne to celebrate and even did a show with sparklers for us! Then after dinner me and my girlfriends went to the bar to enjoy a few drinks which by the way were fantastic. This place a real gem.
