A gem!!! Okay so I admit I only knew this place from a post I saw on Instagram however...my date & I really enjoyed our experience here! Everyone was very cool & friendly even the bouncer at the front was super friendly. So first off, if you're hungry they have a taco lady that's setup right before you enter this bar! I didn't try any of her tacos but they looked bomb & smelled amazing. Upon entering the actual bar, you walk down a flight of stairs to go underground & there's a pool table, the bar, restrooms, arcade games around the other corner of the bar, & maybe about 10 booths for parties that wanna lounge & hangout. Honestly really cool. We played pool & some of the arcade games lol. But of course the drinks: we first ordered the Mezcal Paloma & the Mango Mezcal Margarita. My date & I loooove Mezcal so this place was perfect! I ended loving the Paloma more than the mango margarita but honestly both were very good. Next time tho I will try other drinks as I stayed with the Paloma for the rest of the night! Such a fun experience here I'd definitely recommend for a chill bar night! read more

Colud of be a good night. Started good but, from a bartender to a bartender service. Lack of professionalism. Just one question asked and miss understood by bartender. I get it, we all made mistakes or misunderstanding, but the fact that as a bartender antagonizing your customers that is low. Talking to other customer about a orher customer requests It's un unprofessional, and lack of customer service. Waited in a long line to get inside for around 45 minutes, meanwhile, the bouncer kept letting in his friends and acquaintances cut the line and go straight in. It is just like any other bar and definitely not worth the wait. read more

This was a limited bar and they mainly make the drinks on the menu. There's not that many options for vodka based drinks. The seating was also limited so I recommend going early, this would be the perfect place to start off the night! The music was also a vibe however the dj was not taking song requests. read more

Maybe the downtown cozy basement bar name implies the sophistication that us American tourists think of when we think of "CDMX"....like a swank establishment in Polanco or La Condesa neighborhoods of Mexico City. But no, Bar CDMX seems to more represent the more real neighborhood bars of Mexico City. It's a metropolis and all folk live in that beautiful city. And that's ok. What would like to see is a larger drink menu and some food served. And if they served pulque, the Mexican wine made from the fermented sap of agave plants, OH HELL YES I would take up residence at Bar CDMX and this would be a five star review. Music and ambience and great, nice vibe inside. Only complaint is it's too hot inside, the minute you start dancing, it's uncomfortably hot. Not sure if the AC is running but it's not strong enough and they have one fan to ventilate the side where the pool table is. My suggestion is to get stronger AC or stronger fans. Cute, small place. Got there for their happy hour. Good deals with a shot and beer for like $8-$10. There cocktails were delicious. The best one out of the three I had was the Paloma with mezcal. A few coworkers and I stopped for happy hour on a Friday, for reference we were there from about 4-9:30. We parked in a lot nearby for a flat fee which was convenient! The drinks are great and strong without tasting like pure liquor. Even their well tequila shots went down smooth! I would come back for the drink quality alone. 5 stars there. Service was good, a bit slow due to only one or two bartenders during the hours I was there. I hope they hire more staff, but even with the wait, it wasn't a dealbreaker for me. 4 stars there. The atmosphere was great, feels very "underground" without feeling dingy. As mentioned there's a lot of booth seatjng, so it's perfect for a group hangout. The music is great if a little quiet at the time we were there. 4 stars there. All a TikTok hype! No but it was a really cool and chill bar. Everyone is doing their own thing and it was clean. We got there around 7ish on a Saturday and didn't have to wait in line. I know people were waiting for an hour when the bar was literally empty but okay. They have no food here just drinks and beer. The drinks were good I enjoyed them. As far as the music- not really rock en español. The music was really random. They sell tacos and hot dogs outside if you get hungry. Oh yeah restrooms are pretty decent and clean. This place gets loud in the basement. There is no service here outside having to get up from the table you gotta get yourself a drink at the bar. Very limited menu which was disappointing. Was expecting more flair for something using cdmx. Felt a few steps above a dive bar. The part that gets me and everyone needs to pay close attention to, is your recipe when closing out. Since this spot is very dark, they are adding your tip already, but no mention of that from the bartenders. But they ask for a normal tip at the bottom of the recipe, and if course that part is printed more clearly to see in the dark. So people are essentially giving these guys anywhere from a 38% and up tip. Be careful with those tips! read more

This place is great! Arrived at about 6ish on a Friday evening to meet up with some friends and the crowd was on the light side which was nice. The ambiance is really nice, the playlist was great as we consistently interrupted our conversations to figure out what was coming through the speakers and singing along. Definitely took advantage of the Happy Hour beer + shot special! Also had the Carajillo and Mango Mezcal Margarita...all around the 10's!!! Disappointed with my visit. Disclaimer: Visited this place on their second night of being open. About an hour and half line to get in but may change. As a Mexican, I had high hopes because this bar is supposed to be inspired by CDMX. Aside from the drinks/ menu, nothing really seemed to be inspired by CDMX. The music was too low to actually understand. It's really tiny but felt cramped by the number of people that were in there. They have about 3 large booths. My biggest critique is about one of the bartenders. My friend, his GF, and myself lined up as she was finishing up a drink for another patron. We then stood in front of her, we already knew what we wanted but gave her time to finish up the prep that she was doing. After waiting there with not a single acknowledgment from her to us for about 15 minutes, my friends GF decided to lineup behind a different bartender. That guy immediately addressed us.As soon as we left, the previous bartender began serving the people who were originally behind us. The drinks were good for the price but the entire ambiance and service really sucked out the enjoyment of being there. They have a pool table and 5/6 arcade machines if that's your thing. The energy in there is off, when I went it seemed like the bar tender was already drunk. He was a hispanic guy with a ponytail. It kinda just seems all over the place and I feel as though it's not at all an accurate representation of CDMX culture or what it's supposed to be representing.
