This is the second time I have gone here. The first time the place was packed and we only stayed for 30 minutes. The second time we stay a lot longer. My husband and me played some games and enjoyed it. They have a good variety of games. Seating is limited and if its busy there, you might not find a seat. Trying to get a drink was crazy and almost waited 20 minutes to get one. Another thing that irritates me is when people do not enjoy or like their job. One of the bartenders literally hated his job and would take forever to get people drinks. He would also skip people and serve people he wanted. Sorry not sorry for giving you a bad tip. Would I recommend this place ....not really, there is other arcade bars in Detroit that you can go to. It is just the hype right now. read more

This was our first time experiencing Barcade so we were super excited to have some fun . Food was mediocre , the drinks were good , but the service was absolutely horrible ! Every server was absolutely rude , kinda like they didn't want to be at work so they came off super rude get another job if you not happy , if I'm spending my money then I should get great service ! If we needed anything and had to finally get their attention it was as if we were bothering them now Iam the type that will ask to speak to a manager but I didn't and now that I think about it I wish I did ! This is a fun place to meet up with friends or have a retro date night. It's pretty big, with myriad arcade games to choose from. And I found the staff to be really friendly here as well. It's a little off the beaten path, but that also means there are more places to park. I would come here again. read more

I was reluctant but ended up having a great night. First of all this place is a lot bigger than it looks on the outside. I love that we were greeted by a host and pretty much told how the games , food and drinks go. We sat at the bar had a few drinks that were good btw ! And ordered cheese sticks. This place had a lot of really great classic games and pinball machines and it was pretty busy on a Saturday night but it was easy enough to play what you wanted. Bar service was good, they have a pretty good selection. The music was really loud which made it hard to have a conversation and there is not a lot of seating. The bathroom smelled like piss and urinal cakes. Like really, really bad. So bad. I was glad that the games were on a quarter but pinball is $0.75 per play which is weird, but they had some of my favorite pinball games from back in the day so that was fun. The atmosphere was super cool, and we didn't order food. We did get drinks at the bar. I really liked the manager, I don't remember his name but he was so kind and simply amazing. NOW I will say, the guy who rocks 49s on his knuckles was rude. My review has nothing to do with which sports team he likes because I don't follow football, and he was definitely rude. I might not have all of the info for a full review because we didn't eat or drink (the drinks look really good, though, wasn't expecting them to have what looked like a fancy martini). PacMan, Streetfighter, Frogger, Simpsons, RoboCop, pinball, Donkey Kong..lots of the old school games. Not a HUGE selection, but good enough. Whoop whoop!!!! Guess what just opened up...Barcade Detroit!!!!! I've been waiting for this place to finally open her doors. After meeting up with friends who were setting up an event for tomorrow, we headed over to Barcade to check out the hype! Wow, this place is on slam. Being a throwback arcade fan, I love coming to places where I feel like a crazy kid again. They have tons of old school video games and pinball machines. It was packed so we ordered a few drinks and played some pinball. They have an adorable outside patio and a few areas for seating on the inside. The machines take tokens so you'll need to have some cash on hand. The food coming out of the kitchen looked yummy, but we were not going to wait on that scene because it's just too busy today. I will most certainly be back to enjoy a game of Ms. Pac. I wonder if I can make it to the high score board...bragging rights, you know! read more

I don't leave many one star reviews. Here we go. I showed up after my wedding with a party bus full of 16 people. Everyone had their ID except my sister in law who is in her 50s. She wasn't let in. So be aware of this policy. I hope the owner is aware of the business the manager turned away. Great new addition to Midtown Detroit! Who doesn't love a great barcade?! Alcohol mixed with our favorite childhood arcade games....ummm, yes please! So excited to check them out as a part of a Midtown Detroit pub crawl. I love Ready Player One, Pop + Offworld, and 1UP and Barcade is right up there. They are a fairly large barcade with two floors. Lots of cool pinball machines like Stranger Things, Metallica, Adam's Family, and Alice Cooper themed pinballs. Teris, Tron, and my personal favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are all there! Pinball machines are mostly on the second level and regular video games are mostly on the first floor. Racing games and shooting games are there too. Nicely spaced out so doesn't get as crowded and crazy as Ready Player One. They have over 60 arcade and pinball machines and over 24 beers on tap. Great beer selection, the bartender was super helpful! I ordered the Brewery Vivant Pumpkin Tart and he gave me at least three more samples of pumpkin beer and sours on his own without me even asking before he put the order through because he said that beer was pretty sour. All of the recommendations were great but I stayed with my original order that I much enjoyed. They also have a great cocktail menu for your non-beer-drinking friends with things like Moscow Mules, Palomas, original concoctions and wines. Barcade also has a larger food menu than I've seen at most barcades with items like quesadillas, nachos, fried cheese curds, fried cauliflower, and fried Oreos. Is fried a theme? Perhaps but I'm a kid for a day playing video games, so deep fry everything please just don't tell Mom, shhhhhhhhhh!! A friend got the Buffalo chicken wings and loved them. Another friend got the fried Oreos with a marshmallow dipping sauce and omg! these were so good!! Order them please! Your tummy and tastebuds can thank me later! When you order food, you order at the bar and they give you a number marker for your table and bring it out to you. Unlike most arcade bars, they do not give tokens for games with drinks which surprised me. Games only take tokens, not quarters and they have change machines throughout the building so only change ad much as you can play. Beer and video games, what could be better?! This place is great. 21 and older so keep that in mind before you go. I have been here twice and look forward to coming back. Games are a throwback from the 80's and 90's with a lot of newer pinball games. Most games here are a quarter and the pinball games are seventy five cents. Finally made it to Barcade! This place is awesome! Very diverse crowd which was super cool! I especially loved the fact that the Pac Man game was new and super fast!! The drinks were good. The place was a little too crowed for our liking but that's good for their business. The bartenders were nice and attentive. I also noticed a few managers in the background checking to make sure the bartenders were servicing everyone at the bar in a timely fashion. We also had a little incident where our beer spilled, one of the managers was nice enough to replace it which was super cool! Just for that we'll definitely take the drive back. This place kind of sucks, the person at the front door was nice but every single other employee was rude. To order anything I had to open a tab, which was no big deal, but then they wanted my drivers license as well as a card which seems suspicious. All the games were in good working order but they really don't have that many games, and the games they do have are kind of crappy. Very busy place so fast paced but no response when asking questions. My food was cold!!! I only ordered fries & had to wait literally 25 minutes for them & they were cold. I don't understand, I had to ask a server where the fries were & that we had be sitting with our number card for them to easily see us. My friend ordered Buffalo wings & they are no where near spicy. Went there the other night and tried to get a seat but there was this group of Wanks sitting on the patio drinking Nain Rouge beer with a bunch of children they brought. Weird they were bar-hopping with kids but it's a free country. This place is clearly not for kids, and they were told this very politely by a bartender who came out. They were rude to him and said something about getting a "Trump 4 Lyf" tattoo on their face before leaving with their brood. Like who brings babies to a bar? I would give this establishment ZERO stars. I took my fiancé here for date night on 9/10/2021. it was the first time ever being there. I parked infront of their building, literally INFRONT of it. My car was vandalized and when I called to have them check the cameras, I was first told that they would give me a call back once they figured out the cameras. I never heard back so I called again and spoke to the general manager. He then stated that he won't pull the camera footage because it's not his problem and that it happened in a public street and not inside his building. My car was directly infront of the building. I wasn't parked across the street or down the street. I was parked INFRONT OF IT!! Be aware of this bullshit establishment and be aware of your car potentially being vandalized and the management not helping. Also, they have security, so that tells you how terribly they run their service. DON'T GO HERE!!!!! read more

Time crisis is always my favourite and they have TC3 so played that one like crazy, but also had fun with some old school asteroids, point blank, adams family pinball and of course Daytona. My fiance and I went yesterday to hang out and to record some footage for out enagement video before walking into Barcade we ask security was it okay to record our engagement video in the establishment he stated "yes no problem"! When we arrive everyone was so friendly no one had complained about my videographer recording. Then her comes racist Matt (the manager on 3/3/23) I believe was his name harrasing us about my vidoegrapher recording us with a light.Minding you we had already been recording 20/30 mintues prior to him harrasing us. He even threathen to trespass us and call the police if we did not stop recording and leave. He got to talking about policies, and since we a young black couple he felt the need to harass me and my fiance. If this was so much of a policy why did everyone in this establishment tell us it was okay. I didn't even want to finish the food I ordered let along give them a dollar of my money.
