This truck was at a farmer's market so I stopped by and and had a breakfast taco with chorizo, it was ok, not amazing, I expected a little more flavor. My friend had a shrimp taco which was pretty good, nice little kick to it. I was going to order the chilaquiles but they didn't come with eggs which I thought was weird. There were other interesting things on the menu that I didn't try like the montecristo sandwich so maybe if I see the truck again and there isn't something else I'd rather have I'll give it a try. read more

Paella - $9. Pre-made and assembled to order. i got undercooked rice, 3 small pieces of sausage, 2 tiny clams, 2 overcooked mussels and 1 decent shrimp and a pile of peas underneath the rice. The rice had no saffron flavor or depth of flavor. At least it was seasoned ok. Manchego and Ham Croquettes - $5. Better than the paella, but not by much. Again, the seasoning was fine, not lacking salt, but not enough manchego. Where was the ham? The first one had a nice even golden brown and a slightly crispy crunch. I'd prefer more of a crust. The second one however had an uneven color, a little char on some parts and no color on others. I pulled it apart to see if I could find the ham, but didn't find a single speck. Good, but on par with those I've had at other tapas restaurants. Pros: they accept credit cards. No Lines. I may be back again to try some of the other dishes. read more

Another amazing lunch this week! I was one of the lucky ones to finally try the paella Valenciana which was simply delicious! It was a good mix of seafood, chicken and chorizo, and it was a generous serving - enough to share with a friend. Also on the menu were the bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with chorizo - SO GOOD! We also shared the chicken empanadas which were as good as the first time I enjoyed them. All in all, a perfect lunch for under $20 for two of us! read more

I tried them at OC Fairgrounds Foodtruck Fare on Thursday. I had the spanish grilled cheese and it definitely did not taste good. The meat in it taste weird, so couldn't really get past the first couple of bites. Ended up throwing more than half of it away. The food is pretty good, but it seems like they could do a lot more with the menu. Tapas would be a great fit for a food truck, but their menu has more entree type items than anything else. The only real tapas style item is the bacon wrapped dates. I'm actually always a little surprised by how many strangers will ask me what they are when I order them. I guess I've underestimated the popularity of bacon wrapped dates. Personally, I prefer to be able to try lots of things instead of having one big sandwich (especially when it's an $8 sandwich). Even the tacos only come in orders of 2. They should look into adding some squid to the menu. read more

I really want to give this truck 4 or 5 stars but I just can't. I just can't! $5 for a small container of mac and cheese is just too much. I needed to eat 3 of those to get me full. The food is really good. It is. The mac and cheese is indeed my favorite item. It's creamy and delicious. I tried the chipotle shrimp tacos the last time I saw them and they were good too. I was first introduced to this truck by a friend of mine, and before you knew it, we were visiting Esteban twice a week to eat empanadas, paella, and the steak with chimichurri sauce (my personal favorite). I know that Esteban has been changing his menu around lately, but I have always been a fan of this truck and will continue to patronize Barcelona on the Go. I find the food to be well-prepared, and, more importantly, tasty. read more

We came here for OC din din a go go. We tried various items from the other trucks so settled on only the bacon wrapped dates as we were getting full. I enjoyed the savory sweet combination. My husband did not care for it. We will return to try other items on their menu next time. read more

I truly wanted to like this truck, but it was just... meh. I love a good mac & cheese, so after reading some other reviews I expected to be wowed by the Manchego Mac & Cheese. It was so-so. Sure, it was served piping hot and it had a nice little kick to it, but $5 for a small serving of shells with cheese was a bit of a letdown. The beef tacos were tasty, as were the sweet potato fries but I think they're more like fried yams. Also, I couldn't taste any trace of the lime salt. Anyway, what I really wanted to try was the mac and cheese, but that was the first item to go. Like the other posters noted, what I did try was a bit pricey for what you get. read more

We get Barcelona on the Go at CSUF during certain times. Their fries are pretty good, but I had their chicken quesadilla and it's nothing special. It was pretty bad actually. I don't think I'll try any of their other stuff. read more

I was a little disappointed by this truck, but maybe it's just what I ordered. I looked at the menu for awhile, and decided on the steak quesadilla. When I was about to order, I noticed that it had blue cheese, which I am not a fan of. I asked the guy taking orders if I could get it without any blue cheese, and he told me that they pre-made the quesadillas in the morning, so I couldn't change it. He then said that there was very little blue cheese and that they just sprinkle some on the top. I should have taken this as a sign to order something else or just forgo the truck altogether. But alas, I hate being troublesome, so I got it. Yea...what he said was "very little" clearly was not what I consider very little. The whole quesadilla tasted like blue cheese. I couldn't enjoy it at all and ended up giving it to one of my friends who doesn't mind the taste of blue cheese. read more

The only answer I have for "Why one star?": Steak and Fries. I ordered two orders of these. @ $9/serving (REALLY expensive for food truck fare). You'd expect to have some special for this price. What I got were some fries that tasted like they came out of a bag with a piece of very fatty meat that was burnt on the inside and raw/rare on the inside. Not a medium steak, some inedible. We also ordered a chicken empanada - the only thing we didn't throw out after a couple bites. So if you're at a food truck event, look straight at Barcelona to Go and then head to the food truck to it's right or left. You'll be better off and have more money in your pocket for later. read more

Go Lionel Messi! Oh wait, wrong Barcelona... This is Barcelona (On The Go), a food truck serving up Spanish Bistro & Tapas. Unlike other gourmet trucks, they don't usually do small stuff here - they serve up full-on meals. So for those looking for little $2-3 sliders or tacos, check their Twitter to make sure they're offering it. I got their short rib slider combo - two short rib sliders with fries. The short ribs are marinated and braised in a red wine & tomato sauce, and is served on brioche bread. I gotta hand it to them - they know how to braise a meat. These sliders are out of this world, and very few sliders I have ever tried can compare to these. The meat has great flavor, and falls apart easily, true to short rib style. The fries were less than impressive, although I heard they have sweet potato fries, as well as a serving of fries that comes with meat and a green sauce. The fries that come as a side to a combo are just regular fries, so don't get your hopes up. I think I've fallen in love with their sliders. Truly a work of art. I think I'll have to chase them down again just so I can have some more of that meaty goodness. read more

I was very impressed with this place. I thought it would be ok but it was definitely DELICIOUS. I ordered the Spanish BLT. It had these real thick bacon slices which were magnificent because it mostly meat and not too much fat. And a thin slice of what looked to me prosciutto with some chipotle sauce that did not over power at all on this small little torta bread. It was a perfect combination. And for an extra dollar, I added the Sweet Potato fries TOTALLY DELICIOUS. So if anything, order that for $3 as a side by itself. read more

I've been a supporter and happily told people about your truck for over a year now but I won't be any longer. I order bacon wrapped dates today, my favorite thing from your truck and something I've eaten MANY times! After watching the 2 or 3 people who were behind me in line get their sandwiches and fries after I'd been waiting for 10+ minutes I walked up to the pick up window to ask if my order would be up soon, I was not cranky or crabby when I asked. the response was "it's coming up, I have to do tickets in order" which is when I DID become cranky because I KNEW I'd watched people pick up their food that had ordered after me. Instead of just saying "sorry, we missed your ticket" I got a blatant lie AND under cooked bacon wrapped dates. If this is the way your truck is being run now I'm happy to spend my money elsewhere. read more

I've seen this food truck here and there around Orange County and I finally decided to try them out last Thursday night. I purchased the house special, the prime top sirloin steak fries with chimichurri sauce. Let's first talk about the chimichurri sauce. The sauce was good but I wish it had more a of a zing to it, more citrus flavor. I love lemons/limes. The color itself looked a bit darker than other posted pictures. Maybe its because it was in a to go container and therefore the steam from the hot food "cooked' the sauce. I believe there is parsley, oregano, garlic, olive oil, vinegar and lime in the sauce. I order the steak medium but it was closer to medium well, again because of the closed container. Next time I'll order it rare if I take it home to eat that way it would be a perfect medium. I dipped my fries in the sauce or ketchup, both tasted great. Although the steak was at a medium well it was still tender and moist. It had a nice sear on it which I love to see on all of my steaks. My fries were unsalted which was fine because the chimichurri gave it a nice aromatic flavor. One thing for sure though, the other yelp pics of this item seemed to have a larger piece of steak than the one I received :( I hope they return to Huntington Beach so I can try another item from their truck. The only regret was not running to the frig for a lime wedge. I was too exhausted and tried to get up. Would it be weird if I were to add feta cheese to the dish? I mean it has a salty profile to it which I think would complement it quite well. Hum? read more

The food was sub par. Super disappointed as I loved everything that I saw on the menu -Steak chimichurri fries= soggy skinny boring fries with too much garlic and the meat was chewy and tasted weird -Bacon wrapped dates= you can't go wrong with this -Fish tacos= just okay -Steak quesadilla= the best thing we ate. Which is sad, since it was cheese, tortilla and 2 slices of steak in each slice. Overall.. not sure I would eat it again if I saw the truck. read more

Waste of time! Drove 30 minutes to get some bacon wrapped dates last week and they changed the calendar last minute to go to another location instead... So this week I drove through 35 minutes of traffic for one more attempt on the bacon dates and they didn't have any. I am pretty disappointed here in comparison to all the other trucks. we've only tried 2 items...and they're both meh... they were out at the farmer's market at the great park in irvine one sunday....we really headed out there for the burnt truck....but i'm always willing to try new trucks....i've seen them at the teller lot a lot...but haven't tried them yet....there's usually 0-2 people hanging out by them.... i wanted try to the mac & cheese based on some yelp reviews i skimmed through....but they were sold out i made sure to check my selections w/ the girl at the window....we were only getting two items and my guy wanted the chilequilles....she suggested the paella b/c they only make it on weekends....she claimed that it was very tasty chilequilles.....i'm not a huge fan of chilequilles in general...this is my 2nd time trying chilequilles ever......i had them add egg on top too...all of it was just ok..i don't think we finished the whole thing before it made it into the trash.....i think adding some kind of meat would improve this dish a lot more....but this just makes me not what to ever order chilequilles again...anywhere. paella....big disappointment....it lacked flavor, texture, and seafood.....it was just like tomato flavored rice from rice-o-roni.... we will not be ordering those two dishes again....but i'm willing to try other items before i completely write this truck off....i still want to try the mac & cheese...but i have ultra high standards for mac & cheese b/c i LOOOOOOVE mac & cheese.... so..we'll see.... read more

Unsure about what exactly tapas and spanish food entails I asked the friendly cashier to steer me in the direction of a delicious food-gasim. And she did just that, I ordered a smorgasbord of food because it all sounded... and smelled so good. The steak over fries topped with chimichurri sauce was great, and my boyfriend was a huge fan of the ham and cheese panini. Its amazing that something as simple as a ham and cheese sandwich can be made gourmet and served right out of a food truck, but barcelona on the go did just that. It was thinly cut hame and delicious bread. My favorite though was the top sirloin tacos. They had a little kick to them, and while simple it wasn't a typical taco with the spanish spices and the meat was fantastic. I was surprised by the prices, I think I was expecting the typical taco truck price range forgetting about the gourmet aspect. Then again we did decide to order a lot of food. I will definitely be a regular at this truck I just need to remember that this is the equivalent to going out to dinner, so make it into a picnic of sorts. Rather then the take home routine I did my first go around. The mac n cheese is calling my name. read more

Our meal from Barcelona OntheGo was part of a company sponsored event where my gf works. We had a choice of two other food trucks but decided we would try the sirloin steak & fries with chimichurri sauce. While I can say that the sauce was delicious, the steak was chewy with a lot of fat on the edges. I know that $9 is not a lot of money for a prepared steak but I'd rather have a smaller portion of higher quality steak. They should also use a larger cut of fries to prevent the oil from the sauce making the fries into oily mush. Less salt would also be desirable. I realize that this is food truck cuisine but with other choices in the type of fare, I think will make a different choice in the future. To be honest, I am not caught up in this fad. read more

Tried for the first time. We expect good/decent food with good price from food truck, however, food truck in OC is OC price. Two very little (yummy) tacos, nothing on the side for $5.00, veggie pannini (also yummy) $7.00. We liked the food but the price is just not right. Taco Tuesday at Taco Mesa, you can almost get these $5.00 tacos for $2.00. They also have no free water to offer, so we are forced to get $2 or $3 drinks. After spending $8 + tax we were still very hungry. Nothing personal but unless they really adjust the prices people will not go back... too bad the food was good. Oh and also, for most of the food we did not see anything about Barcelona, it's just Mexican tacos, etc. read more
