But that seems to be changing recently, as I've found several small places that can get my mouth watering when I think about them. My girlfriend and I realized we hadn't eaten on this day and it was 3:00 PM. The problem was we had 6:00 reservations for a fancy dinner train ride. Bardstown Burger was a last minute stop for us but glad we started in. After having a few drinks around the street we needed some food and burgers sounded perfect. We walked over and ordered at the counter. I will say the prices were very good here. $7.75 for a Double Cheese Burger. $2.50 for fries or onion rings. You're just not gonna find the quality for those prices. Our food come out pretty quickly and my burger was very tasty. The fries were crinkle cut which seems to be the way here but nice and crispy. Tip, you gotta get some cheese sauce for dipping. Will take them to the next level. The onion rings were good too but the serving was on the smaller side but that's cause I also want more. think 6-9 rings. Found this place after walking out of Scout and Scholar for lunch due to unwelcoming host staffing. But THIS place, holy moly some of the best burgers I've had in a while. We had the spicy burger and the outlaw burger with fries. They last maybe 5 minutes on our plates before they were gone. Fries were the perfect amount of crispy and the burgers were well balanced between condiments and meat and buns. We will definitely be back here for burgers again. I had a pretty good burger here! I've walked into this place so many times and I was excited to finally get to try it. The inside is pretty small, with only a few tables and then a top with some barstools by the window front. The burger itself was pretty solid. One of my fellow patrons was eyeing it, saying how big it was and how he was glad he ordered a single and not a double! The portion was pretty satisfying for sure. 4/12/23 At 2:15pm we would have had to wait 30 min for a table at another place. We mentioned being hungry and the hostess mentioned Bardstown Burger as just a quick walk away. She said it was just a "hole in the wall but had great burgers. That sounded perfect to us. We were there 2 minutes later. The menu is very small, burgers, chicken, friend onion rings, soda, bottled beer, and milk shakes. We ordered at the counter with the help of a very friendly young woman who repeated our order to make sure it was correct. We sat down and what couldn't have been but 10 min later we had juicy and flavorful burgers, a beer, the onion rings and a chocolate milk shake that was super thick and very chocolatey! Food doesn't have to be fancy to be good. Simple food done well! Sure worked for us. We were walking back to our car by the time we would just have been getting seated. Oh, Bardstown Burger has won awards in 2020, 2021 and 2022 for the best burger in Bardstown. I sure understand why! read more

Location and price are the best things about this place. The food proportions were way too small. If you're getting a burger you better get a double, and if you get the BLT then you should buy two! It is very rare for me to still be hungry after eating, but I had the BLT which basically had just a few bacon bits. While the prices are low it's about average for what you get. I almost walked out twice and didn't care about getting my money back. Had to force myself to stay and I'm glad we did because the burgers are fantastic! The reason I almost left was because of the KITCHEN!!! Wow, on their phones will cooking food which is so disgusting anyway but when the prep cook used the restroom and the phone went with him I wanted to barf. The restaurant seems small but there is plenty of seating that stretches behind the kitchen and we had no issue getting seats. The staff here is so welcoming and kind. This has been on my radar for quite sometime. I loved the small town feel and the ambiance this place has. Upon entering the menu is posted and you order prior to sitting down. You can either choose from a list of different burgers, or build your own. For a side order of fries or onions rings those are purchased separately. Drink options include: alcohol, fountain drink, or a milkshake. My meal consisted of a spicy burger which had jalapeños and pepper jack cheese and a side of onion rings. My friends and I sat on the patio outside and awaited our food. Food was brought quickly and piping hot. Overall, meal was tasty delicious and fresh. This place blows my mind. It's so cute and unassuming and yet, the burgers are just fantastic. I consider myself somewhat of a burger eating expert, and I'm telling you, these burgers are damn good. I had a steak burger at another place in town the night before and it simply didn't compare to this place. The first time that I came here was with my husband and another couple. I'll admit that we may have had a few pours of bourbon, and we ended up scarfing down our food and then ordered seconds!! The place came recommended to us by an employee at Maker's Mark and he described it as "a hallway, but a really good hallway". Haha! We had no idea what that meant, but I'm so glad that we gave it a shot. It's small, but has a hallway leading to more indoor and outdoor seating. The burgers are cooked on George Foreman grills. Seriously. When I saw this, it blew my mind. And so we went back again, this time stone-cold sober and the burgers were just as incredible as I remembered. The staff is friendly and super efficient. The place is decently busy, but we've never waited long for food. These people know what they're doing. I will stop at this place every time I'm in Bardstown and would hands down recommend it to everyone. I wish I had photos of my food, but it gets eaten too quickly. read more
