Bardstown Burger Co makes one incredible burger! The family and I were very happy we stumbled into this spot!

OH YUM! We dropped in for lunch after walking around downtown. We were promptly greeted by the counter staff, who took our order and gave us a number. We both ordered their Bardstown single burger which features grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, bacon, mayo and cheddar cheese. It was freshly made, hot off the fryer, and the onions were grilled and soooo good. The burger was very tasty! The fries were hot and fresh. I had a Strawberry Shake, and that was tasty as well. My wife enjoyed her iced tea. Seating is available in the front, the side, and the back, and some outside seating is available in the back. The bathroom is next to the pop machine in the front.

Best burger I've had in Kentucky. The Bardstown burger with grilled mushrooms, onions and cheddar.

Wow. This is a damn good burger! Just named best burger on that "Best of Kentucky" list in my Nolin RECC "magazine", so my friend wanted to try this place out. I was a little dubious about the whole best burger thing as I've been to a few of the past winners, and they were very disappointing. I don't know if it's the best burger in Kentucky but it's definitely in my top 3 burgers I've ever eaten. It's a small quaint little restaurant, a little dark in the front but lit up in back. There's not much seating, a counter at the front window and 3 booths, and a few small tables in the back so assume most people take out. The staff was friendly and greeted us as we walked in. The menu is small which is fine as the main attraction is the burger and they do it very well. They have a grilled a chicken burger, chicken rings and a veggie burger if beef doesn't interest you, but then what's the point? We both got the Bardstown burger, which has grilled onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, mayo and bacon though they forgot the bacon, still the first bite of this burger was sublime. The burger was smaller than your typical gourmet burger but was well seasoned and very juicy. The grill onions, mushrooms, cheddar, mayo just added to that delicious beefiness of the burger. You can make your own burger and they have two other signature burgers. The fries and onion rings were crispy and piping hot, nothing special, just good sidekicks to their super burgers.

Onion rings were great. Burger was good. Half of the Spicy chicken was so tough it couldn't be chewed. Lots of people on a busy night. Fountain soda machine had zero ice.

My husband and I had the Outlaw burger, a double. It was delicious!! I could have eaten a triple!! The service was great and we got our food within just a few minutes!! Will definitely be back!!

Build your own burger with pepper jack cheese and bacon. With side of onion rings

If you're in the Bardstown area and trying to figure what to eat, I would check out bardstown burger. They are always super quick and fresh. I have been multiple times now and wouldn't complain! The building might be a little small but plenty of room to eat and enjoy your lunch. Plenty of options. I would definitely recommend a perfect midday lunch spot! Service is always great and willing to help you out if needed. Perfect spot to try if you're in the area and want to grab lunch.

The burger was one of the best I have had. The service was quick and correct. We highly recommend it during a day of bourbon tours.

When we confirmed with the waitress it did have that ingredient, the waitress shrugged and said sorry while walking away. It was a skillet so there was no picking around anything. We sat at the bar because it was still pretty packed. The place was fun - the service was a bit silly in a good way. Great cocktails. Great ambiance and decor. My bourbon-grilled pork chops were fantastic. Good cornbread. Green beans were fantastic. The fried apples were just okay - a bit on the dry side. My friend's chicken and waffles looked amazing. Another friend's ribeye looked a bit overdone to me, but he seemed to like it. I wish the souvenir store was still open when we were there (it closed at 6pm) because I would have liked to bring home a trinket or shirt. Maybe upon next visit - because I will definitely eat here again the next time I'm in Bardstown. Make it a priority to stop in!

Other than that, I was so disappointed in this place. Walking in, we were greeted by the overwhelming smell of some kind of cleaning solution or pungent air freshener. It took awhile to acclimate to that. To the point I wondered if my food would taste like it. They have pizza, some basic Italian food and a whole separate menu of Indian food. My son loves Indian food, so I compromised and went there. He got an appetizer of Samosas which he really enjoyed. I don't like Indian food, so I personally cannot give an account, but he loved it. I got potato skins. They were fine, but nothing worthy of note. Husband got spaghetti and meatballs. It said spaghetti AND meatballs on the menu. But they charged extra for the meatballs. $13 for a mediocre portion of spaghetti and sauce, and then an additional charge for the meatballs that were supposed to be part of the meal as on the menu. And they were not good meatballs. Probably something from a vendor like GFS, and then boiled. They were very...gray. And bland. Olive Garden is not the bastion of Italian food, but they charge about the same price and it's good. And they include breadsticks and soup/salad. I'm not a chain restaurant kind of person, but this place makes me want I got a pizza with extra cheese. Good thing I did or it would have no cheese. If you get green peppers, they will be diced into very large pieces and put on top. Almost like having fresh peppers put on top of a cooked pizza. The crust is good and has a good chew to it, but it is "flimsy" like a NY style pizza and it cannot support the weight of the toppings. Son surprised me and also got pizza. While he loved the samosas, he likened his pizza to a glorified Tombstone pizza. For $20+, that's kinda sad. $80+ for food that was underwhelming at best, is a pricey little lesson learned. I'm not going back, but if you like Indian food, this will probably be a great place for you.
