Cocktail menu, one side of 2
    Judy F.

1ST time customer. All the staff members were polite and pleasant. There's a hostess near the front door and a bartender behind the bar. The waiters and waitresses and even the kitchen stuff were nice and accommodating. It doesn't have all the liquors available though. And the cocktail we selected, they didn't have or couldn't make. There's a dining area and separate bar area. Different ambience in each room, less lighting in the bar area vs more lighting in the dining area. We ordered the fried chicken burger, popcorn chicken and french fries. Each food item came out piping hot and fresh. The prices are comparable to other places in the area.

Ordered a custom burger with organic grass-fed beef with oat milk cheddar, caramelized onion, wild mushroom, sweet pickle and garlic aioli. It's not bad, but it's not mind blowing. The meat quality is decent for the price and I was really surprised they offered dairy free cheese options. The mushroom and onion gave it a nice flavor. But could do without the garlic aioli sauce. Overall the menu was really large and similar so it made it difficult to choose one. Prices are really high but I guess you're paying for the quality of the protein.

Salad that had dressing left out, but old lettuces at the bottom.

I've been craving a smashburger for a minute, and since Forest Hills is still waiting for the greatly anticipated 7TH STREET!!, I searched smash burgers, and Bareburger came up. They have a whole section of their menu dedicated to smash burgers and various options, so I figured this would be a good choice to hold me over. It was not. I'm not sure how you can sell smash burgers while demonstrating you don't even know what a smash is. Should be thin, crispy around the edges, which leads to a cooked through burger. What I received was basically raw, no caramelized edges, and zero taste anywhere. I tried the regular and the truffle. The truffle wasn't even in the room with me, but it did have about 50 huge mushrooms. Just call it a mushroom burger at that point, because truffles and mushrooms are NOT even remotely the same, and are they are not interchangable, so basically false advertising to use the word "truffle" as your burger's name. I had to take all of them off because there were just so many, they were so big, and didn't taste great. There was not even one pepper flake or one salt crystal added to season the beef. Literally tasteless. I upgraded one burger to a meal and got a side salad and water, the salad stating on the menu that it came with green goddess dressing. For almost $30, I got: a tasteless burger, a raw burger, a salad with not dressing, but rotting lettuce pieces instead. Huge disappointment to have given almost $30 to this place. What is even the point of serving people food like this? It only ensures a lost customer.

Two Wagyu Smash burger combo with milk Milkshake

Decided to have a weeknight dinner. Shared a Wagyu Smash burger combo with hubby. Mine was a single while he had an extra patty ($4). He also ordered a coconut milk shake. The server explained that they were 3 oz patties. We had more than enough fries to share and even left some. Oh -- he gave us water and a small serving of popcorn soon after we sat. Happy with the service and the food. Would go back to try the pastrami!

Triple Lindy - Pickle Chips - Wagyu Smash Sliders - popcorn chicken

Went to Bareburger in Forest Hills and shared a Triple Lindy which included Smash burger sliders, pickle chips, and popcorn chicken. Great value at 18.99. Definitely enough to share with two ppl. Our server was nice, but failed to mention the promotions for Sunday. The restaurant very clean overall with a causal feel.

Went to Bareburger in Forest Hills for an early Sunday night dinner. It's a fairly large spot along Austin Street, when you walk there's a big bar area (where you can also eat), and the dining room with tables and booths is on the other side, separated by a wall. I ordered the smash burger combo ($23 for the burger, fries, and a drink) with a gluten-free bun (+$2) and the special sauce on the side. To my surprise, it came as a double patty, which made it a lot of food. I finished the burger but only managed a couple of fries. The burger was tasty, though not as crispy as a typical smash burger, but still enjoyable. The restaurant was pretty busy, and service was a bit slow, but my server was helpful whenever he came by. The space has an eclectic, fun décor, and although there was music playing, it wasn't loud which I appreciated. Overall, the meal felt well-priced for what you get, and it's a good spot for a casual burger or a healthy and tasty dinner in the neighborhood.

Came here with my husband after work and had a delightful time! Was served by a wonderful waiter who deserves a raise (Erick M) for the hospitality and being awesome at his job. My husband ordered the Wagyu Smash burger and I got the Cali bowl of course because I wanted to be healthy. It was good as I expected and was interested the way the beets were basically puréed. Loved that there were potatoes and everything just works well together. Wagyu burger was so juicy and a bit salty but to be expected with burgers. Was definitely really good and cooked just bite so you're able to savour every bite. Would def return next time! We were full this time but def want to try the milkshake.

Had been craving parmesan fries and expected to satisfy it by ordering bareburger, but I was so disappointed by how little parmesan and garlic aioli there was. I could probably count the number of fries that had any sort of sauce on it :( unsure whether this was just a one time miss but for an add-on of 1.95 (in this economy!) for so-called loading my fries with additional toppings... rip

My daughter and I had dinner there on a cold and windy night. The place has plenty of seating and there wasn't a lot of people on a Wednesday night. We were told to sit anywhere and a friendly waiter handed us some menus and brought us water and some popcorn. The menu has changed a little since last week came. There is now an option to get the burger on a bed of lettuce. I got the elk burger with blue cheese, kale, and an egg. My daughter got the standard burger medium well done without the pickles. Her burger was simple but full of flavor. It was a solid burger. My elk burger was done medium and it was very juicy. If you had told me it was a hamburger instead of an elk burger I would have never thought it was elk. There was a slight gaminess but the blue cheese hid it well. The lettuce, kale , and tomatoes were very fresh. The food is still good after all these years.

Came here for dinner a few times. The service is always REALLY spotty. I feel like it takes forever for someone to take your order and they never come back and check on you. My brother ordered a burger and it had a hair in it and the server replaced it, but didn't seem apologetic or fazed by it at all. The food here is standard, nothing special but nothing bad either. The happy hour seems amazing. I might check that out and sit at the bar and perhaps there is going to be better service there, but I don't think I would recommend eating here. Station house has way better burgers and service so would definitely recommend getting your food there instead.

The floral displays are fun and are probably the highlight of the visit. They seem to go the extra mile when it comes to creating a celebratory atmosphere. Service was excellent from start to finish. The staff at reception and at the table were attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Food-wise, we tried the Kung Pao calamari and wagyu meatballs after seeing other reviewers rave about them, but both felt a little gimmicky to me. Our group mostly stuck with more traditional brunch items, including breakfast burritos and omelettes, and those were fine. Overall, I would not necessarily come here just for the food, but I would recommend it for the atmosphere, service, and special-occasion vibe. It is a great spot if you want a pretty setting, good hospitality, and plenty of photo-friendly areas.

My fellow yelpie Jeannie has been raving about their duck à la pressie for ages and we finally organized an outing so she can share her love of Tourmaline and the duck with us. Thank you Jeannie. The duck in itself deserves an award. You can tell that Yvan the head chef and owner has put so much detail into creating this magnificent dish for his customers. From picking the perfect farm to order the duck from in PA, to purchasing the machinery for churning out the sauce from the bones and internals of the duck, to incorporating different aspects of duck preparations from different cultures (French Normandy, Chinese roast duck) and teaching to Daniel in the city for some tips. You know Yvan has put his heart and soul into this one dish. I love how this dish is prepared table side by the chef himself with so many different stories and presentations. He starts off the duck with a serving of the perfect tot crispy skin served with his seasonal sauce. We had rhubarb. We were the stars of the room with everyone envying us. I can't recommend this experience enough. Worth every penny! In addition to the duck, we ordered some apps, salad and a fish dish. The seasonal cocktail Noveau Peach so refreshing and delish and dessert wine was a perfect accompaniment to the desserts. The atmosphere or the restaurant was cozy and high end.
