I've used Bark & Lather twice before in 2023, and had been extremely happy with the results both times. But now I've been trying to schedule another grooming, with no luck. I requested an appt through Yelp over a week ago (no response), I left a VM (no response), sent a text message with all my contact info and what I needed done (no response), and sent an email with all that info as well (no response). Not sure if they are still in business, or if they're just too busy for a return customer, but I guess I'll have to go elsewhere for my dog's grooming. It's really too bad. read more

He arrived on-time with a mask and was super-friendly and asked all the right questions to determine if Bailey needed any special attention. Amazing experience. Our elderly dog Pacha hates going to the groomers and being left at the facility for hours but we were lucky enough to get in for an appt with Jason. Pacha fell in love with him and had a great time. My boyfriend and I were able to pop our heads in to reassure her that she's actually still at our house. Jason was beyond helpful, taught us a few tips and tricks for at home grooming. We are hoping she makes it another few months so she can see him again! I used them for the first time April 5 and Anais did my sheepdogs cut and bath. She did a great job and I was very happy and booked my next appointment via email with who I'm assuming is the owner. My next appointment was scheduled at 9 am and I hadn't received any text by 9:10 that morning so I texted them to confirm the groomer was still coming. The person (owner?) responded thinking I was another client named Julie and said the groomer was running late. I replied that this is Emily, not Julie. I never got a reply & nobody ever showed. I even sent a follow up text to ask about rescheduling and it was completely ignored. I never have received a reply back from either of those messages, no email, no apology, nothing. It's beyond unprofessional and I'm not sure how you run a business like this. It took weeks to find another mobile groomer. If your fine using a business that might no-show on you and basically ghost you, then go ahead and use them, like I said I was happy with the time they did show read more

This was the first use of this service. I especially wanted them to trim the dog's long nails. Everything when well with the groomer giving positive feedback. After they left, I noticed the the nails were not trimmed so I called the office. It took 4 business days and multiple calls to reach anyone. They said they would have to ask the groomer. They never called me back so I called again and finally someone said the the dog looked like she was in pain so they stopped. Strange they did not say anything in the feedback after the visit. I have had this dogs nails trimmed at this length several times with past groomers, nobody ever has had a problem. I think it is this company and specific groomer that is the problem. Not recommended due to poor communication and not taking care of the issue. Since they didn't complete the job, why should they charge the full amount? read more

I called to check if they were running late, and 4 HOURS later, they called back and the response was, "This is so weird". No apology. I asked to rebook and was told the next appointment was over 2 weeks away. Highly disappointed in the lack of professionalism and customer service. I don't know if I will be using Bark and Lather again. This was my first time using them and I will be honest, I am not overly impressed. My appt was set for 12 pm and I understand the 30 min window. If they are spending so much time on another dog, that makes me feel like they will spend that much time on mine and not rush just to 'make it to their other appt' so I really do appreciate that. HOWEVER, my appt turned into 2:45! That is quite a difference. They stylist contacted me and apologized profusely and I didn't hold her accountable. She said the scheduler didn't allow for drive time and she was far into Scottsdale. Again, I understood. It happens but this is my first time using the company so it didn't give me a completely 'professional' vibe. The girl that came was as sweet and as nice as could be. Gentle with my dog, seemed very patient and soft spoken. Listened to my concerns regarding her ears. But I did mention I wanted a 'summer cut' and even mentioned how the last groomer left my dogs tail too think and bushy. Especially with the summer, I wanted her short. My dog gets very hot. She came back really really clean! Her fur was super silky which I loved but she didn't look cut much at all. the groomer said she had a beautiful coat and she thought she would leave it a little longer so she could show it off. That's not at all what i asked for and I know I should have spoken up right then and there and told her I wanted it shorter, but I didn't want to hurt her feelings. She seemed like she took such good care of my dog that I didn't want to seem as if I didn't appreciate her patience. But I spent $100 and I feel like it was in essence just a very expensive bath for my dog! That's too much money to be spent when I know I am going to have to book another haircut probably in 3 weeks, if that long. I gave 3 stars as I liked the shampoo they used and the girl was so nice but I don't think I will use again. read more

I got my dog Buddy groomed with them a few weeks ago. My brother was present for the appointment because I was at work so I never got to meet anyone, but wow was I disappointed when I got home and saw the dog. I groom horses professionally and it was clear to me that the groomer was extremely inexperienced or lazy. Inconsistent cut marks from the razor were all along his back, missing spots as well. My dog is a schnauzer, his extremely long face hairs were barely touched? It's just so inconsistent with every schnauzer cut I've had done on him before. As a groomer myself, I can't believe someone really looked at my dog and said "yup! that looks good!" Get glasses, or better lights, or new employees!
