I had lunch today and ordered the western hamburger with steak fries on the side. I noticed that the fries had a dark red seasoning on them. I've had this meal before and didn't think anything was wrong. After I took my first bite of the fries I noticed a intense and strong heat from the seasoning on the fries and we complained to the server and all she said was that she liked hot spicy food and while she was talking I suddenly noticed my throat was starting to burn like hell on fire. I suddenly started coughing which turned into choking and then I started uncontrollable vomiting onto the restaurant table. I haven't ever experienced such an explosive amount of burning and heat before in my entire life. The manager, the server and the restaurant patrons all watched me choking and vomiting very loudly. I bolted to the restroom to finish vomiting and clean my self up and I returned to the table to find that the manager had left more paper napkins on the table so I could clean up my vomit. The manager, Brandy, came back and with a very disconcerting attitude said that they might have mixed the seasoning incorrectly. She offered no concerns or apology regarding my experience in her restaurant, neither for my experience nor my wellbeing or health. She just left the whole bill for us to pay and walked away. This Brandy is a real piece of work. The few times she has served us in the past she's always made weird and bazar comments. I noticed that other reviews have mentioned her in a similar way. I don't think she's very happy and really needs to be behind a desk in some warehouse and away from people. When I told her that I would not be coming back to her restaurant, she didn't even flinch. Just a stone cold burned out soul of a woman. People like her should not be responsible for serving people food. It's extremely obvious that she does not have any concern regarding our health with the food she is putting in front of us and how it could hurt us. That is one dangerous situation that I'm not going to deal with. The health department should close this place down because of her total lack of professionalism towards her customers. read more

Unexpectedly good place for delicious sandwiches and veggies. Stopped by the bookstore and decided to grab a drink before heading out. Ordered a Coke and was pleasantly surprised they serve the bottled version from Mexico (original recipe with cane sugar). Rarely do I leave without a book or three. Another nice part of those location is the Starbucks coffee/tea area in what they call the Kitchen. There is some outdoor seating also available. A good place to hang out overall. Today I dined here for lunch with my toddler, 7 month old and few other family members that also had children. The entire experience was unfortunate from the start; the workers continuously kept giving glares to the table due to my toddler being a toddler. The kitchen is inside the Barnes & noble bookstore which entails a children's section. The restaurant provides children menu. So I was very alarmed by the confusion of seeing a table with children present. After we paid (and left very generous tips) I stood up with my 7 month and the manager came up and asked me to move due to being "in the way." Mind you the restaurant was 80% empty. As we left the manager, named BRANDY, also made a remark about my child "messing up the walls." I do not condone my child misbehaving in public nor doing outrageous behaviors and make sure to correct behaviors as needed but I was so alarmed by the comments. As we walked out, another worked followed behind to reiterate what the manager stated and continued to say things to us, there were others dining outside so I found it very unprofessional and I felt borderline harassed. My husband and I have come to this Barnes and Noble over the years and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in this weekend and saw their kitchen/restaurant was up and running. The hosting station is kind of in an awkward spot, in my opinion. You could easily walk past it - it's like a small desk covered in adverts, papers, and signs. The two families after us also waited about the same time. Not sure if this is due to short-staffing or if they're figuring out all the kinks. It didn't really bother me though! I've waited for much longer at traditional chain restaurants. Once you get seated, it's mostly smooth sailing from there. The appetizer we had was the burrata, heirloom tomatoes and toast. It was 10/10! My husband ordered the Brisket Burger and I had the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. We shared a side of parmesan and garlic Broccolini. I enjoyed the tomato soup! It was creamy and warm. The grilled cheese was pretty good but the ratio of cheese to bread was lacking. I feel like they need to swap out the bread to something thinner or add more cheese. Maybe it was just the way they made mine that day! My husband thought the brisket burger was okay! It was average - but it did the job. Our favorite was the broccolini! It was salty, crisp, fresh, and aromatic. The garlic added the right amount of flavor, and I thought it was cooked to perfection. I love how it's all on the same floor so you can stroll from the restaurant straight into the bookstore after you finishing dining. There are big windows that overlook the Palladio which makes for a tranquil dining experience (as long as passersby don't stare at you too long while you eat lol). The food is so tasty. They were definitely short staffed there was a young girl inside the cafe making coffee for the folks that were ordering, then there was a sign that said "Please Wait To Be Seated" I stood there for about 5min in silence the young girl never said "be right with you" etc. we were then seated place was pretty bare lots of open tables. I asked for a high chair the girl went to look then came back and said they were out. Um, are you kidding me? I had my 1yr old that is still too small for the booster seat. Um alright I looked around and two highchairs were not in use. Thankfully she sat well this time around. Its pretty cool that they have places where you can sit and look through your selections. Remember, its not a library... The Palladio stands out above many of the B&N locations. First off, its a large store. Its set up allows for employees to great customers as they walk in. I love the friendly vibe, the warm glow of the lights, and the book selection is enough to make any bookworm happy for hours. I love that its not just a book store. While they sell all types of books; pick a genre, and you'll find it all. If you cant find what youre looking for, they will happily try and locate your book selection. The cool thing is that it can be mailed to you, or you can pick it up in the store. Barnes and Noble also carries magazines, and some pretty cool items that can also be given as gifts. Its one of my go-tos for gift giving. They even have gift certificates! What goes with reading? Eating? say what??? This location has an entire cafe. #mindblown. Its not coffeeshop munchies, but upscale gourmet cuisine. They really offer great bites. and if thats not enough, they offer bar service. All you need are jammies and a pillow. The seating arrangement sucks at this location. It blends their Starbucks and dining seating areas and they keep changing the boundaries for where coffee vs. dining customers can sit. I was sitting in an area historically for coffee customers (I come every week) and was rudely told the whole seating area is for customers only (I had my coffee in hand obviously a customer). This is the second time they changed dining boundaries and I have been rudely treated. The food is also overpriced and mediocre. Despite being a weekly coffee regular, I will not be going back even if they restore previous boundaries. This sucks, and I was already having a shitty day trying to make it better with a bookstore coffee trip. I am still a customer even if I didn't order a specific classification of items. It wasn't even packed, they had 3 customers and 20ish tables. From now on, I will be going to the other starbucks down the block for my coffee. read more

On my last visit , I had the chance to enjoy the bricked cooked chicken and the burger , with a side of sautéed broccoli. Oh mylanta, everything was mouthwatering !! Both the chicken and burger was seasoned and cooked so perfectly! So delicious! The quality of the dishes that are being served can justify the rather higher then anticipated prices. We love this place!!! I have yet to dine at their restaurant, but we do get snacks and drinks from the cafe, and they frequently give us drink and snack coupons. We are members of the bookstore and use our membership card to rack up points and get a reoccurring discount. The staff, guys! The staff! They are really helpful and quick at finding books for me. It's also particularly fun when they suggest books when I'm asking them questions. They are never in a rush, which I really like. It's classy as well, with the ardonak (?) chairs. When I first came here a couple years ago I was obsessed. Their food is generally pretty tasty! And feels pretty fresh, not like typical stale cafe food. But the service has been steadily declining. Have very low expectations when eating here. I have had to wait nearly 40min for an iced tea on one occasion because the waitress "forgot" and then proceeded to forget to check in on our table. We had finished our food and had to sit there for another 30min before she remembered we existed. Also, if you order food from the cafe and sit in the communal study area, YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR DIRTY DISHES TO THE COUNTER. Not a bad thing, but they don't tell anyone that. So if you don't do it, they won't pick it up for literal hourssssssss and the people who sit there after you have to deal with it, which is not nice. Be a nice human and clean up after yourself! Other than that, it's a great spot and the food is pretty darn good overall. Hard to go wrong. I think the only dish I wasn't super impressed by was the mac n cheese. It was reallyyyy bland. Craft does better. Try other dishes. Don't waste your money on the mac n cheese here. The breakfast sandwiches and burgers and literally everything else is delicious though! read more
