    Reuben with sweet potato fries

This definitely exceeded my expectations. I found the entire cafe charming! But beware, after 11:30 on a Saturday, it can get really crowded and a line will form for brunch. The staff are fairly attentive but there were only two for the multiple tables that were there. The place is giving 90s wood cafe, very much like a Peet's coffee vibe. The food was excellent! We tried the chile relleno casserole which was super flavorful and came with a side of rice and beans. The lemon ricotta pancakes were really good, didn't taste much like lemon or ricotta but was a great pancake nevertheless. The Reuben sandwich and sweet potato fries were really great. Extremely great ingredients and textures. There was also a decent kids menu and crayons and coloring sheets for kids. We were also able to order drinks from the Starbucks cafe. They also had a pretty extensive alcoholic beverage list too!

Such a nice little eatery spot inside a bookstore. Brunch items looks really good. My cousin ordered the French toast got to snag a little bite and it was pretty good. I ordered their cheese burger which was cooked nicely, not over done. Came with crispy potatoes. Overall good experience. I'd definitely come back to try more items off their lunch menu.

Stopped in for brunch and book shopping and was not disappointed. Menu prices are a little on the higher side but I think it was worth it for the portion sizes, taste, and ambiance. The bookstore itself is one of the smaller ones I have visited but staff was so helpful! There is street parking available around the store.

Christmas time is a great time to come to B&N they have loads of inspiring books & magazines & Snacks

Perfect place to meet a friend, have a snack (cookies, pies, bars) and lattes and chat. The tables and chairs make it an easy and relaxing place to enjoy a conversation and eat something tasty (maybe on the mighty list)... I love cookies and their nutty bars... enjoyed lattes. Each of us got something different. It was afternoon so some treats were 50% off. Fast service, good conversation... 90 minutes of happy talk & Christmas shopping ... perfect!

I'll be honest, this was not worth the hype. I had just got married and my husband and I were on a road trip up the coast. We had been in Santa Rosa and had seen a video talking about the only B&N kitchen in California. B&N is our favorite store and we're both foodies so we thought why not add the extra 3 and a half hours to our trip. For starters, everything took forever. We were seated almost instantly but the drinks, the apps, and the food took a while. We were running out of time since we got there around 6:45 and they closed at 8pm and spoiler alert - we didn't get to browse the book selections cause by the time we were done we only had 10 minutes to spare and frantically looked around only to purchase nothing since there wasn't time. Anyways - we got the boneless wings with Korean bbq sauce and that was pretty much the best thing we had. I got a bbq chicken sandwich and the meat was so dry it was pretty much unenjoyable and the potatoes it came with were super soggy. My husband got the feta and spinach turkey burger and he hated it. There was a weird flavoring to it. Overall, I'm glad we went for the experience and to say we've been but if I were ever in the area again I would sadly not be back.

While on a trip to Folsom, I was intrigued an IG reel about this B&N having the only kitchen setup. It was a beautiful cafe-style set-up behind the Starbucks, with as much slightly more seating than the average B&N Starbucks. We were seating relatively quickly. The menu looked like a simple coffee shop menu of sandwiches, salads, and pastas. But the prices were quite on the high side, as if it were a high-end cafe. We took our shot on a chopped veggie ($17) and a tomato soup and grilled cheese ($16). Unfortunately, the only memorable parts of the meal was the a waitress that we seemed to be inconveniencing by being there, as well as the thirty minute wait it took to get the food. While I should give forgiveness for coming on New Year's Day, it is hard to rationalize how we had to shout down staff member to order when there were three dining staff and multiple empty tables. The food did not match the price of the items, but I will respect the salad for the diversity of veggies provided. The Barnes and Noble space was really nice with tons of activity. But I don't see a reality where I can recommend hitting the B&N Kitchen with so many other great and reasonably priced options within the shopping center.

Best kept secret around! We've eaten here at least 2 dozen times and love it! In the winter, before a movie at Palladio, we will stop in for tomato soup and cheese sandwich! Love the tabbouleh with salmon and good burgers, as well. Highly recommend the B&N cafe!!! You can't go wrong with any dish sh you order. Next time I'm gonna try the Reuben with the crispy potatoes. I learned how to make them at home, they are that good!!!

Me and my best bud Kale Jester went here for our 14th birthday and had an exquisite experience. They gave us a birthday candle on our cake and then the whole restaurant sang us happy birthday.

Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Food: 3/5 Drink: n/a Price: 4/5 Parking: 2/5 We stopped by for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. Krysta was our waitress, and she was great! The food was yummy and the prices were spot on. While nothing was over-the-top fantastic, it was an overall nice visit. I would say check it out at least once! Cool concept for sure!

Met a friend here for brunch on Saturday at 11am. It is located in the upscale Palladio shopping center. Very limited street parking but then discovered a parking garage just across from here. I chose this place because I wanted a quiet atmosphere for us to catch up on the last 5 years and not feel like we were taking up space. We walk in to Barnes and Noble and the kitchen is on the right near the check out counter. There is a sign that says wait to be seated. We were seated within five minutes. The kitchen section is small (seats maybe 40?) so there could be a wait if it is busy. The menu has some breakfast items, salads, and sandwiches. She got the BLT and I ordered an omelette. Their standard side is "crispy potatoes". I was curious about these and was pleasantly surprised. They truly are crispy but not hard. They were fresh and not reheated frozen. Service was friendly but not attentive. We had to hunt her down to get drink refills and our ticket. I did appreciate that even though we were there for nearly three hours, we were not pressured to leave. Food was good but not memorable. Its a good place for a quiet quick bite. Great place to just be alone honestly. I would return.

This salad was DELICIOUS! It was the Asian salad. Wine was great, ravioli was great, amazing place!

Barnes & Noble Kitchen is one of my absolute favorite spots in Folsom. It serves many different great purposes! I love grabbing a coffee and doing a little work in their coworking area from time to time, the vibes are relaxing and motivating. Their kitchen is also fantastic. The bruschetta, although a seemingly simple dish, is so incredibly fresh and I have to get it everytime I go. The service is always great, everyone is very friendly and helpful! Sometimes it takes a moment to be sat but I love practicing my patience so it's not a big deal at all. Of course the bookstore element is also great, I love browsing before and after my meal, and sometimes a little more than browsing! I've heard great things about their brunch so that's absolutely my next try. Overall, an absolute must try!

A Great Breakfast Stop After a Hike in Auburn! We came here…read morefor breakfast during the week after a hike in Auburn. We had just finished the Lake Clementine/Dam hike and were very hungry afterward, so we headed into town and ended up at Mario's. First of all, Mario's is a very pretty space. I loved the black-and-white aesthetic and the simple but thoughtful décor. There's bar seating, booths, and tables both inside and outside. Parking is plentiful, so that's definitely not an issue. I started with a regular latte, while my cousin ordered a chai latte. My latte was beautiful and served in a very original, deep, low cup that I absolutely loved. It was delicious and just perfect. Unfortunately, the chai latte wasn't really to our liking. It didn't taste much like chai to us--it had a strong cinnamon flavor and a combination of flavors that made it difficult to tell exactly what we were drinking. So, the chai was definitely not our favorite. For breakfast, I ordered what I would call their breakfast sampler, with eggs, bacon, and hash browns, which also came with a portion of French toast. My cousin ordered their Monte Cristo sandwich. My eggs and hash browns were amazing, and there was plenty of bacon! I chose all bacon, and it was thick-cut, smoky, and cooked to perfection. The plates here are HUGE, and the portions are definitely abundant. My cousin's Monte Cristo was their lighter take on the classic. Instead of being deep-fried, their version is dipped in batter and cooked, which makes it a little less heavy. It looked beautiful and had plenty of ingredients inside, but for us, it was just okay. We've definitely had better Monte Cristo sandwiches. Now, the French toast... WOW. This was easily my favorite part of the meal. The bread had this delicious cinnamon-sugar coating on top that took it to another level. Add the soft, fluffy butter and maple syrup, and it was absolutely superb. That French toast alone would bring me back! I also appreciated the nice, cold ice water that was kept at our table throughout the meal. Service was super nice and pretty quick, especially considering how busy they were. I also loved how many options they give you to customize your meal. I could choose between different types of bacon, sausage, or turkey, and my cousin was able to customize her sandwich and ended up choosing cottage cheese to go with a healthier, higher-protein option. They also have sweet potato fries, regular fries, and plenty of other sides that you can substitute depending on what you're looking for. The ambiance was great, everything was clean and well maintained, and even the bathrooms were in good condition. Overall, this was a very good breakfast experience. Not everything was a home run for us, but the service, atmosphere, generous portions, customization options, and especially that French toast made it a place I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area. And after a hike? Even better!

There's another room on the left side of the cafe but I didn't have a chance to check it out since we left to get lunch at Belly. According to my friend, the room is gorgeous as well; I'll have to check it out next time I visit. They had a lot of scrumptious-looking dessert but they were a little out of my budget. They're beautiful though, and I'd try one for a special occasion (the coffee bean dessert cost $20). The cashier (owner, I'm guessing?) was welcoming and helpful when I said it was my 1st time there and pointed out a list of specials. I'll have to try the cherry blossom and banana drinks in the future! They have private shared parking with a bunch of other businesses; I found a spot easily on a recent Saturday morning. Thank you!

We were seated for dinner pretty quickly. The only problem I had was deciding what to order. The luau shrimp salad? Meatball sub? I finally decided on the lobster mac and cheese. While the portion wasn't large, it was delicious! Creamy and mild with fresh lobster (not fishy) and garlicy breadcrumbs. My husband got the ribeye and was thin but large with great seasoning and veggies. I'm not a big steak fan but I really liked it. We ended up grabbing some beignets to go for the kids, which were really tasty and came with 3 dipping sauces (our favorite was the Berry, although we ended up eating most of them without sauce). The atmosphere was upscale, but very casual, quiet and fun. We saw families with young children, couples on dates, and friends enjoying a meal together. The service was fantastic from start to finish. We had the chance to chat with Julian himself along with a couple other staff members, and everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The stars of the meal were definitely the breakfast wrap and the bacon, egg & cheese croissant. The breakfast wrap had the perfect balance of scrambled eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, avocado, and cheddar cheese. Everything worked together without any one ingredient overpowering the others, and the salsa on the side was a great addition. Honestly, it's one of the best breakfast burritos/wraps I've had. And the croissant... wow. It was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the croissant was light, flaky, and buttery, and every bite was packed with flavor. The Nutella crepe was also very good. The crepe itself was perfectly made, though there was a little more Nutella than I personally prefer. Next time I'll probably ask for less, but that's purely a matter of taste. The avocado toast was the only item that didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was good, but the honey flavor dominated the dish and drowned out some of the other ingredients. I'd love to taste a little more balance there. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality made for a great breakfast. We'll definitely be back, and I'll be dreaming about that croissant until then.

They insisted I find the order number so they could confirm I was telling the truth and that "they didn't undercharge me for the drink". Real nice. If you're in this part of town, I'd skip this place and go a couple doors down to the Coffee Republic instead.
