After reading the reviews on Yelp, I was prepared for our trip and made a dinner reservation for our family of 4 on our second night at Great Wolf Lodge. We showed up about 10 minutes early for our reservation and we were actually turned away even though the dining room was basically empty, so that was kind of off-putting. When we returned again on time, we were seated at one of the outside tables, which is right next to the lobby area and it was extremely loud for the bulk of our meal because they have evening dance party. Our table and chairs were very dirty, so that was not a positive experience either while I spent the first few minutes wiping down every single piece of furniture (and the high chair). We ended up getting a variety of items to share: - Meatball & garlic bread - Soup of the day (loaded potato) - Power green salad - Steak & fries - Braised short rib rigatoni bolognese I got the cucumber cooler mocktail and it was pretty good! The food is what you would expect to get from a resort lodge. Like others have said - I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was here! Ambiance, GWL in itself is chaotic and full of children so you can't do much about that. Our server was wonderful and the food got to us quickly. Started with the nachos, kettle chips with cheese, bacon and the works. My sister shared the wilderness bowl (+chicken) with her husband, I got the bolognese and wow again, pleasantly surprised!!! My brother got the bacon cheeseburger, no complaints. I wasn't too impressed, especially considering how pricey items were. I talked to a few folks that were sitting next to me and they came with little ones and I can see how it's a fun place for them. When looking at how much it is to book a stay there, I was like eeek. I believe it's a minimum 3 night stay which came close $350/night. Filet Mignon not worth it but I did enjoy the sides. You don't need to be a guest to enter the restaurant, but you do need to be a guest to enjoy all the other fun amenities. One of my fave drinks made by the bartender was the Tropical Tango, well balanced with the sweetness. Staff was also super nice and attentive since we sat at the bar. For a water park food was reasonably priced but not a destination restaurant. 2 kids meals (spaghetti n Mac n cheese) both with French fries (?) Spaghetti diner almost put side of ketchup on buttered noodles! Ordered side of green beans noted as charred on menu n told waiter to make sure not too charred since they would say burnt, they arrived without char that pleased both kids n they ate them. Adult meal delivered almost when kids finished (one kid saw waiters at service window n said that's why they call them waiters) was salmon (overcooked) with crunchy glaze, undercooked rice, n green beans (sand char). This is the "fancy" option at Great Wolf Lodge (serving meal items other than non-kid fare) so we made a reservation to eat here the night we stayed on the property. It's a sit down place with table service so it was a nice change from the grab and go style. We started off with a grilled Asian chicken salad (which was big and was more than enough for us to share). My wife got the roasted chicken, I got the braised short rib bolognese, and the kiddo got mac and cheese. The food was good overall. I'd definitely recommend the roasted chicken- very flavorful and moist, even the chicken breast. The short rib was a little dry and not as tender as I expected it to be. Highly recommend making a reservation. The servers are always super friendly. It's a nice welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the resort and the quick food options. The food isn't anything spectacular- but it's nice to sit down and get something different than pizza or burgers. We also sat at the bar later in the evening for a drink and dessert. Barnwood is located inside the Great Wolf Lodge and they offer choices for big eaters, light eaters, and little people. The children's dinners are about $9 each and there are the usual kid choices... spaghetti and a meatball, mac and cheese, grilled cheese sandwich, cheeseburger, and chicken strips and each dinner comes with milk or juice, apple wedges, and a choice of veggie sticks or fries. They offer two items from the grill; either salmon (about $25) or ribeye steak (about $35) and each came with a side of your choice. They also offer a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and other entrees. The kids enjoyed their meals and it was plenty of food for them (a six year old and a nine year old). They were very accommodating when they allowed the kids to have salad the second evening we ate there instead of fries or veggie sticks; I felt bad that the kids didn't finish the salads, but they were huge! I had salmon the first night and it was very good but a bit overcooked for my taste; I prefer my salmon on the medium rare side, but it was cooked through. The ribeye I had the second evening was a bit more cooked than I prefer also; it was more of a medium rather than medium rare, but it was tasty and the kids enjoyed it. The chimichuri sauce that came with each dish was delicious and complemented both the salmon and ribeye. On the first evening, the three of us shared the S'mores Sundae ($9) and it was scrumptious! It was so big that we couldn't finish it. It's definitely enough for at least 4 people (two adults and two kids). Our wait person was very friendly and checked on us several times. Went to great wolf lodge with the family and had the pleasure of dining here we were seated almost immediately and we had a large party. The waiter name was Patrick and he was great!! He was patient and attentive!. The food here was by far the best I've had at a hotel the kids got their food really fast which was great and they enjoyed their meals Then when the adults got our food it was delicious! I had a salmon plate and I was nervous it would be dry but it was nice and moist and the lemon and honey glaze was perfect!..I also had an espresso martini that wasn't too bad!..all and all I'd definitely recommend this place and will go again!..oh and food was so good I didn't even snag a picture lol read more

Nice restaurant inside of Great Wolf Lodge Manteca. The service was kind of hit or miss but our server did seem really busy (we wondered if they were shorthanded). Making a reservation worked well for us but it wasn't clear that it would be needed (not advertised) and it was difficult to create a reservation in the lodge app, we had to go through front desk staff. Adult meals were good, limited options, felt a little like mass catering, but better than fast food, and nice to have a sit down dinner. Kids options were basically the same food they serve in the water park but on a breakable plate. Overall we were mostly craving a slower sit down dinner and this was fine. Very clean restaurant with excellent service. Everything we ordered was perfect. I especially enjoyed the firecracker shrimp. The portions were huge! Iced tea was good. Restaurant was well-lit. Restaurant staff had a meeting prior to dinner service and showed great teamwork. They also had a little team cheer that they did before opening the restaurant. Diners line up at the hostess stand and those with reservations are pulled from the line and given priority to check in. Not one complaint for everything we ordered. Given the mediocre reviews and lack of recent photos, I was a bit worried about what to expect...however, I was pleasantly surprised and my expectations were exceeded. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. It was hot but the hot sauce and chicken wasn't flavorful. I had to add honey to it. The bun was cracking and falling apart also. The cornbread appetizer was the winner in my opinion. My wife ordered the half chicken, that was pretty good. Nothing blew our socks off but the server was really nice and gave our little girl a dessert. The ambiance is nice BUT, like the rest of Great Wolf Lodge, it just seems like they never do standard cleaning. All of the glass is dirty as if it never gets cleaned. We were there for 3 days and the restaurant never looked spotless even before it opened. Not sure I'll ever go back to Great Wolf Lodge, if I ever do, I MIGHT GO BACK HERE. For the cornbread. The food is not that great. We had friends warn us and I said let us give it 1 try. That was it. I got an island colada and it wasn't blended very well, think snow cone texture. All the food was something I wouldn't even serve. Lack of flavor on everything or just plain gross. We have pretty good service. But I'd rather eat out of the hotel. The only sit down restaurant in GWL, make sure to get a reservation if you are dining between 530-730. Great drinks and we ordered a variety of dishes for a large group. The vegetarian bowl is huge for $18 and portion sizes are massive all around. The NY steak was very good and the full rack of ribs could easily feed 2 and comes with cole slaw and fries. Barnwood is located inside the Wolf Lodge. Party of 11! Considering the place is brand new and almost everyone is in training, they did a wonderful job in providing great service. We expected some mishaps, but they made sure we were happy. Point is, this is a new kids resort so come with a good attitude and patience! The food was actually not bad. Grilled Salmon was pretty good and flavorful. Mushrooms were a little bland but the chimichurri spiced it up. Wedge salad with no bacon was good 7/10. Definitely order the Buffalo wings and the calamari. The spinach dip wasn't it for me, so I would pass on that. read more

Ate here twice for dinner while at wolf lodge. Honestly best place to eat here. Service was good. All staff was helpful from recommendations and resolving issues. Food was mixed. Turkey sandwich tasted fine but looked like came from 7-11. Need to upgrade that if charging $17. Everything else we ordered was good. I'd recommend the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. This place is ok the food is ok it's not worth the price the service can use some work the ambiance is good and the drink are good.

As this is the only "formal" sitdown restaurant at the lodge, you're basically stuck between this, Buckets by the pool, or the pizza place if you don't want to leave the property for dinner. That being said, it's overall not a bad option with some caveats. If you think you might eat here, make a reservation as soon as you book your room. The prime time spots fill up quickly, and you otherwise might be stuck eating at five or 8 PM, which is probably not ideal. You can do this either here on Yelp or via the GWL app and can always cancel if your plans change. We had 2 adults and 2 kids for dinner and had the following: - Appetizers: - Wings (6 total, 3 each of the buffalo and Korean hot and sticky). These were pretty good and I thought the buffalo sauce was the better of the two. - Lettuce Wraps - these were really good, definitely recommend. - Dinner: - Full rack of ribs - this was actually not bad and for ~$5 more it's worth getting the full rack and sharing with the table (or eating yourself ha!). The ribs could have been better but were halfway decent and the slaw on the side was good. - Bacon burger - this was ok. The burger was over salted and just a little over cooked from medium rare. The bacon only added to the salt issue. Bun was a pretty good brioche. Fries were crispy and tasty. - Both of our kids got the kids meal with a burger. It comes with the burger, fries and fruit (which was like 3 grapes in a cup) as well as a drink except not the upsell "fancy" drinks they put right below the food on the kids menu. The burger was small but for $10 each it filled them up. - Dessert: - the Campfire Table S'mores (I think that's want they're called) - this ended up being a mistake. We're fairly certain the "chocolate fondue" is just warm chocolate jello and it comes with broken pieces of the pretzel appetizer, mushy marshmallows that were quick hit with a crème brûlée torch and some pieces of fruit. Skip it and get ice cream across the way instead. Overall dinner was fine, nothing to write home about but not totally overpriced and decent. I'm sure there are much better options if you're willing to leave the property but the convenience factor here is huge. read more

Surprisingly good prices and decent food. The rest of the options in the resort are typical amusement park type food, so this is by far the best food choice (in regards to taste and options). Prices are high but compared to everything else nowadays it's actually good pricing. Depending on the entrée, it wasn't much more expensive than the fast food options. We got an appetizer, beer, 2 entrees, and a kids meal for $75 (not including tip). We ate here 2 nights in a row and the servers both nights were friendly and efficient. It's not a restaurant I would go to if it wasn't inside the resort, and If I had more than 1 kid eating dinner, it would probably be a bit too expensive, but it was perfect for us. read more

This place is for children, are you will be surrounded by them. The food menu was great. Original dishes loaded with flavor. They are a bit pricey!! The service was outstanding and our server was insightful. She was able to answer any question regarding the menu as well as thee establishment since this was our first visit there! The food here is a 4 star but I would like to give 4.5 stars for the service. Location is convenient as its located at Great Wolf lobby. Beware total menu change The first thing we noticed when we arrived after a full day of great wolf lodge fun ( for our 9pm reservation) was that the menu was entirely different so no pomegranate martini, no wedge salad, no potato chip nachos no tri color broccoli no chimchuri - the list went on as the server asked and let us know that the menu had changed completely a week ago and everything was different. I ordered drink and We let her know we were gluten free for allergy ( celiac) as the hostess had asked us to remind our server. Dispite the menu being changed and it not looking nearly as appealing we ordered a gluten free burger for our daughter, our server cut me off when I started to ask for no American ³cheese, could we have cheddar or Jack letting me know that her burger already came with cheddar cheese and was plain we asked if she could have a tomato slice she said yes , okay perfect- Next my husband ordered his smokehouse burger and no American cheese- could he have cheddar . She said yes it would just be the meat and cheese and bacon it would be plain . She immediately came back and said unfortunately the frys were not possible they are gluten so he asked for a side salad since the only options as sides are mash potatoes, green beans or frys . I think she was thinking their is gluten in dairy because she kept being adamant that we could only get the balsamic dressing . After a long debate she agreed the ranch as gluten free and she brought a mini salad for him in lieu of the frys - now we have food on the table and no silver ware when we asked the server for silverware and napkins she said that wasn't her Job !! - so now we have food at the table and noneating utensils or napkins . confused I asked another employee walking around if we could have some silverware , he said" no problem ofcourse " next our server comes out and she has 4 black napkin silverware rolls and my daughter's burger and my husband's burger. I said can she have the mash potatoes since now u are saying the frys are gluten? she said the chef had added more carrots and celery already to make up for the loss of frys . I said she would like a potato carb with he burger , could she please have the mash she said yes, we realize that her burger has American cheese while she is gone and also my husband examines his burger and it's only patty, bacon and bread with BBQ sauce and pickles no cheese no smoked pork . The smoke house has pork and cheese and more - when she comes back we ask her why his burger has no cheese and where is all the other toppings , she just acs very detached and says this is what they gave me to bring to u . My husband said ,"what about the cheese and the pork and stuff ? she just acted wierd and said strangely, " I put your order in and I put gluten free and this is what they gave me for u, " I can't do anything" . I said where would we get some cheese???? she just looked confused, I said it repeatedly ? Like 6 times. I said let me talk to your manager? she said that was who gave her this food and walked behind me at that point I stood up and she said hey!! " their are kids here ! I said what ??? just take me to your manager. I will handle this!! she said hey I'm supposed to be off right now and I also have another table and just walked away . We were floored !! One of the managers Came to our table she asked what was wrong my husband said he just wanted to leave i said no our food is wrong and we need help - The young chef came out next with our remade food in hand. I explained that my daughter's salad had come out but no salmon for some reason ? She's already done eating the salad part by now.My other daughters burger came and it was American cheese , that we had been told it was cheddar he said they don't even have cheddar would jack be fine and I said yes .- he says , " The smoke house order said "NO CHEESE" we are all in awe at this point. My green beans taken away again because they are under cooked so at this point im eating my salmon with my hands and no plate under. Bringing the under cooked beans again he says , oh I thought u said u wanted them less cooked" he brought each item wong 4 times each and finally getting my daughter's alacart salmon past 10 pm . We finished- all standing now wondering whos now taling care of us. we see the young lady manager come towards us .She finally says oddly ... THIS IS A ONE TIME THING but we are going to comp your meal!! I had to talk to many people to get this done but everything but the alcohol is comped- my husband looked at me confused !
