I placed an order for pick up on 3/30/2024. At 8:04 PM, we picked up our $70 order to take it home, only to find that nothing was correct. First, I ordered a Carne Asada burrito, only to find I was given a BEAN AND CHEESE burrito. Secondly, all the sides were cold. Third, my husband ordered carne tacos to find they were NOTHING like the tacos he ordered from another location. Less meat, smaller quantities of everything. Overall, a disappointment despite our previous experience at an alternate location. We would like this to be recompensed in some manner. Go to the Avondale location over this one and day! read more

Came right at opening 11am and there's a line outside. That's always a good sign, right? As I walk in you are greeted with a beautiful bright and colorful aesthetic that made eating here fun. Really disappointed with the "Mexican food" here. The short rib tacos were extremely salty. And the tortillas were MICROWAVED. If you're Mexican or know about tortillas you KNOW when they are microwaved. That's nasty...the tortillas were hard and rubbery. The mole enchiladas were eh....way too sweet for some reason. I went to the Arrowhead location in the past and enjoyed the food enough to try a more convenient location, but not enough to battle traffic within the area of the mall. It was completely my fault for visiting on a Saturday night when it was really loud and busy. Not only do the acoustics make it tough to hold a conversation, there were obnoxiously loud vehicles out the night that I was there. In any case, I just decided to work the visit into my night of shopping for the week. It took about 30 minutes to get a seat, which really wasn't too terrible considering. It was appreciated that the crew was pretty efficient with filling a table as quickly as it became available, it just wasn't appreciated feeling rushed during the meal. Maybe it was just overly attentiveness. I don't know. Anyway, our party sits down and gets our order in. We were disappointed that the elite fries were taken off the menu as it was a favorite appetizer in the past, but it is what it is. When our drinks arrived, there was no offer of a straw and I know restaurants are doing that now, so again, it is what it is. Something changed with the fresh salsa that comes out with the complimentary chips, it just didn't have as much flavor or spice as I remembered. It's still some of the better salsas out there, maybe it was just an off day. Even with being really busy, food came out pretty quickly so, that was good. I got the veggie burrito and it seemed kind of small with not much in it. Some squash and onion made up most of the filling, would have liked a little more variety, but that's just personal preference. Overall, it was good even with some extra salt used in the seasoning. The others at the table got different tortas and each person has the same feedback, the meats were good, the excessive salt killed any kind of flavor that they were going for. 'Salt it is used to bring out the flavor, it shouldn't be the flavor' was mentioned. Through the meal, our server checked in on us 8 times before we got our check and with the extra attention during the meal, anxiety was kicking in along with the feeling of they really wanted us to leave once we were there. She was cute so, I personally did mind seeing her multiple times. After the experience of what turned into a fast food experience, my mental health is suggesting to allow time for the new place to settle in before trying it again. read more

We were mostly disappointed with our visit and won't return. The first thing is that there are a limited number of booths (our preference). They do have a number of half-booths, but they all appeared to be the "high-top" configuration, which we find uncomfortable. We got a table instead. The second thing is that it was a cool day (55F outside at 1pm) and the two doors to the patio on opposite sides of the dining room were wide open to let the servers easily access the two tables that were in use out there. As a result, the interior was almost at the outdoor temp and very uncomfortable. Our server did offer to have them closed, but we figured that would last about a minute until another server used the doors. I had to go out to the car to get a coat and while I was doing that, my wife talked to the couple sitting next to us and they were chilled, too. As for the food, it was higher in price than most of the local Mexican sit-down restaurants and at the same time, the portions seemed somewhat smaller. The entrees we had were OK, but pretty bland, even the salsa. The mole on my chicken was sweeter than I've had elsewhere. Fortunately, they were good about keeping dairy products out of my wife's plate. However, we both ordered corn tortillas and got flour, and my choice of beans was ignored by the kitchen, too. In common with all the restaurants and stores in this new retail cluster near Costco, the traffic snarls badly, especially when trying to leave, if you can figure out how to navigate the maze. I don't know who designed this shopping area, but they need to go back to school for traffic flow design. read more

Stopped in on a Friday at 5:20. We did not make a reservation because A. I didn't know they took reservations and B. It was early so I never would have thought it would be busy. Waited over 30 mins for a table when I could see LOTS of open tables available. Not really sure why that was. We could have sat outside but even with the heaters it was a bit too chilly. Thankfully people on the waitlist in front of us must have left because the wait was only about 10 mins. The server was VERY nice!! Bar was backed up and she was very apologetic about that. Again, not that busy so not sure why things were backed up. Food was OK but not hot. None of our meals were hot. Over all it was OK, I know we will be back because we don't think there are many good "Mexican" restaurants around. But we will remember to make reservations next time. read more

I have eaten here twice. The first time, I got a bad case of food poisoning from the fish tacos. I decided to give it another try since the ambience is inviting. So sorry I did. The food was terrible. Maybe I am too versed on what a good carne asada burrito tastes like because this one was so bland. It tasted like black beans and had no flavor. I put some of the salsa on top but it didn't help. It took the waitress a long time to get my son's Dr Pepper and this was during lunch on a Thursday. I do not recommend this establishment for mexican food. Overpriced and not worth it. Been here twice and we have been disappointed both times. The food is good but the service is definitely lacking. On our second try we left after only having a beverage because after three requests for our salsa to be refilled we were frustrated. The dining room was not full and we watched three other tables have to go to the bar to get their check and beer after waiting unattended for too long. While we saw our server continue to walk past us after the multiple requests for salsa, each time he acted as if we weren't there. To his surprise on our fourth attempt to flag him down and just ask for the check he asked "no food today?" ‍ We were not about to attempt to order food at that point. We spent a total of 45 min at our table and were tired of being ignored. We will not give this establishment a third try. read more
