Absolutely love this place!! The food great, wine delicious and service even better. Came here for girls night and we had so much fun. We got a bunch of tapas to share and of course a bottle of wine ($10 off a bottle of wine can't go wrong on a Wednesday) we sat outside and love the set up. Food is definitely underrated. We got the prosciutto and watermelon salad, Brie pretzels, polenta Fries, Oysters (I didn't have them but that was the least favorite), Goat Cheese Ravioli (my personal favorite of the night) and the shrimp and stir fry and lastly the Short Ribs. All so good. We got way to much food for three people but everything was perfection. But I think the best part of the night was the service and management. We wanted to take some leftovers home and as they were bringing them back to wrap them they dropped it. No big deal and we wouldn't of made a big stink of it. But the manager comes over to us with the biggest apologies and tells us she is bringing us all never leftovers and she's sorry that happened. We didn't even know and honestly wouldn't of cared, accidents happen. But the fact they did that and went out of their way. Was so sweet and is the biggest reason I will forever promote this place!! Went last night for a birthday party. We tried to call ahead to make a reservation for 7 people, but we were told that they didn't take reservations after 6pm. That's fine. We arrived at 7pm and were told that we would have a 45-min wait, but they would take down our number so we could grab a drink somewhere else while we waited. After about 50 min, we called the restaurant to check in and they said the table was finishing up on dessert. So we headed back over. Then we proceeded to wait about another hour at the crowded bar area. The host was apologetic and bought us a round of wine as we waited. There also happened to be a bar fight in the area we were waiting and the police were called. The food and wine was delicious, but by the time we were seated at about 9pm, I could have been served beef jerky and I would have been thrilled. I understand that a Saturday can be busy, but it would have been better to have the host tell us up front that they probably wouldn't be able to seat us in a timely fashion so we could have found another restaurant. read more

Great wine. Great food. And great service. Came here on a Saturday night without a reservation and the two of us were seated right away. We were even able to switch to a bigger table when another friend joined us. The wine was delicious and the waiter never let my glass go empty. I ordered the oysters to start and they were fresh topped with tasty cheese and breadcrumbs. We also shared the meet and cheese plate and the prosciutto watermelon salad which tasted like summer on a plate. Def recommend! The braised short rib was the real winner, it didn't last 2 minutes on the table before it was devoured. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. I'll start off with the good, the waitress we had was very sweet and did all she could to accommodate us. The bad- the food sucked. The pizza on the menu says stone oven pizza which one would think is made there by the description, but it was very obvious it was not. The crust part I'm talking about, it tasted like a stale tortilla, not pizza crust. She was nice and took it off the bill, but that shouldn't be happening. Also the wine I had was basically something I could get in the liquor store for $10 a bottle, they don't offer orange wine or anything super special. Lastly we got a prosciutto/Brie board and the prosciutto was tough and hard not soft and silky how it's supposed to be. The toast served with it was literally stale and gross and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. My friend also got the short rib grilled cheese, was ok, cheese wasn't even melted and there was a lot of oil/butter on it. I had been here a few times with friends, and once or twice with family as well. (Because not everyone in your family is your friend, remember that.) lol The staff is always very nice and knowledgeable, they explain each dish perfectly and really go the extra mile. The food is always good and it's in a Tapas style, so it's pretty much finger foods and smaller dishes that everyone can share. My only gripe would be it's a little pricey due to the trendiness of it all. Would I go back yes, just make sure your in the mood for finger foods and a loud atmosphere once the place get's hopping. read more

Barrique never disappoints. We came the weekend before Valentine's Day around 7:30 on a Saturday night and they were able to seat us right away. Although the restaurant was crowded service was still great and we didn't feel rushed which sometimes can happen when restaurants get very busy. Food was great! A hidden gem in Babylon. I've been here a lot for the wine, but recently went and shared a cheese plate and wine with a friend. The bartenders are nice and really take care of you. The only major deal breaker of the place is that the music is always off. One time I went and an old school Rihanna mix comprised of about 4 songs played on repeat all night...Not okay!! Other than the music, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. They keep the lights pretty dim though. In the summertime they have outdoor seating as well. When I visited Barrique last, our waitress didn't seem too pleased that we were only interested in ordering a small plate to share. After we ordered, it took a while for the food to come out even though all we ordered was cheese and bread. The waitress took a while before coming to see how everything was and to grab our check. Next time I'd like to try the pizza, perhaps while sitting at the bar. For now though, I think I'll stick to wine. read more

This was my first time at Barrique and the service was excellent. I was impressed on how the manager was attentive to us and and everyone around us. Riley was our server and she made sure we were taken care of. Outdoor seating was great but get there early if you want to get a table. They have a great selection of shareable plates. My best friend loved the Barrique pizza and I recommend the steak. I think that they should have a slice of cake on their dessert menu. Will be back ! read more

This used to be one our favorite spots in Babylon for years; the waitresses would reconize us and say hello and were really down to earth/friendly; however, it seems to have gone downhill progressively and that's really upsetting. They slowly started replacing some great dishes on their menu, which I understand so maybe the menu doesnt get outdtaed/stale, but the replacements just weren't up to par so it's been a little while since we've been here. Finally went back tonight and unfortunately will probally never go back. It used to be always PACKED everytime we went and atleast a 40 min wait, even on a weeknight (in the summer for outsoor seating). When we went there tonight there were several tables outside free and that should have been the first hint. We were sat immediately. He asked which table we would like, so we picked our favorite that we've sat at before with no problems. It was covered in small ants. He apologized and wiped them off. I'm sure if we asked, he would have sat us somewhere else, but we stayed hoping it would clear up (and it mostly did, but there was the occassional ant throughout our evening.) 2nd bad part - our waitress. She came over initially to give us the menu. After she left, it took forever for her to come back. We were starving and wanted some wine. We waited so long we were just about to get up and go somewhere else. She finally came over and apologized and took our order. 3rd bad part - our food. Our meats/cheese dish came out and it was solid, as usual. However, regarding the mini tuna tacos app which is made with raw tuna - 2 of the tacos tasted fishy....raw tuna should not taste fishy.... We both got steak for our entree (one flatiron that was their special and one reg flat iron) - ordered both medium rare, but they came out welldone and comepletely bland. She never asked how our steaks came out - I was planning on letter her know they were overcoooked, but I felt unconfortable telling her unsolicited. Not to mention, my wine was empty before I recieved my steak entree and I wasn't even offered a refil until I was halfway done with my steak. Let me start off with saying we've NEVER done this, but we only left a 10% tip and struggled to even leave that much. We always leave anywhere from a 20-25% tip wherever we go, and sadly she proably just thinks we were being cheap. In fact, we passed her as we were leaving before she got to our table to take the signed check and she didnt even acknowledge us or tell us to have a good night. Maybe it was just an off night or we didnt get the best waitress. So to sum it up: the best part is the outdoor seating during summer months; romantic for couples and fun for girls night. So if you're looking to grab a glass of wine and some meats & cheeses, I say go for it! (great wine selection btw). But other than that, no bueno. So dissapointing, Barrique. read more

They are top notch and knowledgeable. The food is amazing. I've tried majority of the menu items and my favorite has to be the steak tip pasta. Love the Mac and cheese as well and the pizza. Also the cheese boards here where you can build your own are incredible. Seriously this place is great, and even better in the summer with the outdoor seating. The food is always spot on and so is the sangria (delicious!) and wine. As for food I have had the following and loved all of it: -barrique pizza: filled with meatballs and very yummy! i love the thin crust -mussels: super flavorful and you get a TON. i think they might be my favorite place to get mussels in general -sauteed shrimp with polenta - absolutely delectable -short ribs - melts in your mouth its so good and tender! -meats and cheese - simple and wonderful. love all the sides which come with it I always look forward to coming back! Barrique is your typical trendy, sultry, wine-bar great for grabbing cocktails but also with a menu for sharing small plates and pizza or nibbling at the bar. And I love it all. I've never eaten at Barrique but have been countless times before to catch up with friends from home. They offer over a hundred varietals which would please the snootiest of connoisseurs to the most "regular" of people. Prices are typical for a wine bar - around $9+ per glass. I love that the bartenders are exceptionally knowledgeable (at least one sommelier on staff) but also are all incredibly cool and fun people. They banter with people sitting at the bar, hustle to keep glasses filled, and are carefully attentive to people standing farther back in the bustling crowd. I love the exposed brick and wine bottle atmosphere. The room on a Saturday night is usually filled with late 20-40 somethings all dressed to impress in their "nice jeans" and good tops. The atmosphere this restaurant provides is a cozy and intimate gathering which is great for a date or mid-sized gatherings. There's plenty of seating outside and I'd say there are more seats outside then there are inside. However, dining indoors provides its own rustic atmosphere with a great bar to sit at and great views of the wine racks. The service was great from start to finish. Our waitress was attentive and super sweet. We ordered the grandma pizza which was great. Nothing more to say about that. However the braised short rib was a little dry for our pleasure yet still flavorful. All in all, belly's were full and smiles wet eon our faces from the food and the wine selections. I came here with my wife to enjoy a nice dinner date with her and there was only a 5 minute wait so that was nice but when we were seated not more than 5 feet from 2 bathrooms and not more than 8 feet from the kitchen whose door constantly opened where cooks were speaking loudly which wasn't their fault and uplighting that's in the floor was blinding me it made for a extremely bad ambience which is one of the reasons why we went there. I expressed my concerns to the hostess and asked if we could move but apparently they only have 3 tables for couples. If you can avoid this seat the place is nice otherwise but I had a unpleasant time because of my table. read more

The place serves on a first come first serve basis, so you CAN'T MAKE RESERVATIONS! I went there on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed and soooo noisy, I wanted the dinner to be over very soon. You literally cannot hear your partner across the table. The food was great though, but quite expensive compared to other tapas places I have been before, such as Swallow in Huntington. The service was excellent. My favorite restaurant in Babylon village. The lamb chops are my favorite - however they changed the sides recently and I'm not a huge fan of it, bring back the mashed potato! Their pizza is super refreshing and light, always have to order it. The portions are small for sharing. Between two people I normally go for a pizza, two apps and two main course. My favorites include, clams, tuna tacos, steak, lamb chops, seared tuna, half roasted chicken. Their wine is really good too. On Thursdays $6 glasses of wine and $10 pizza! read more

Went back here this past Monday night with friends. It was amazing. I'll start with the wine list. It truly has something for everyone. We started with a half bottle of Faust Cabernet Sauvignon. It was wonderful. Followed by a bottle of our favorite Caymus, both prices were extremely reasonable. The food... every dish a culinary masterpiece. The octopus was tender and had just the right kick. The beef short rib melted in your mouth and the lamb chops were perfect! The service was top notch and the environment never disappoints. This has always been one of my favorite wine bars but with the addition of pretzel baked brie it just got even better! It was nice enough to sit outside for dinner but the music was a bit loud for a quaint wine bar. We split the shrimp oreganato pizza, pretzel baked brie and polenta fries and each dish was more divine than the last. The pizza was a regular sized pizza, so easily could be split amongst a few people & it had a thin crust and just the right amount of toppings. The pretzel baked brie was basically 2 pretzel stick sandwiches with melted brie oozing out and fig jam for dipping or spreading and the polenta fries were fried to perfection, not greasy at all, with a side of honey to dip in. I passed on ordering the wine this time as I drank quite a bit at the wineries the day before. Our server was friendly but inattentive, we had to ask for water multiple times but the prices are reasonable. I'll be back! read more

I was extremely disappointed. Our server must of been having a really bad day. I asked him about my flight choice of the "Red Head" and Anthony's response was if you like red. Is this a wine bar? All food items came out before our wine. Nothing was amazing but the Brussel sprouts were good and the calamari. This place is so cute. Came for a dinner date with my boyfriend, and it was either this or Monsoon. Monsoon just looked off to me (large, empty, your basic sushi). On the other hand, this place had such a nice vibe (not as pretentious, outdoor seating, plenty of diners!). We ordered the steak special and calamari. They emphasized that everything is meant to be shared (YAY that works because sharing menus are the best). The steak was very good and the mashed potatoes/green beans that came with it were cooked to perfection. The calamari was just on the ok side (I was not really a fan of the sauce). I was intrigued by other options on the menu - such as that huge selection fo dessert shooters. Unfortunately, we ran out of room. I would come back here. Barrique is amazing. We just had our company holiday party here and I was in charge of organizing and planning it. We were a group of about 60 people. Everything was catered to what we wanted and it couldn't have been more perfect. I worked with Amy, who was a pleasure to work with. She had great suggestions and always accommodated whatever we needed. The staff the night of the party was also great. They were quick and efficient. The food was great. We had an array of passed appetizers and a buffet station of chafing dishes. The mac and cheese with shrimp was delicious. The braised short ribs were out of this world! I can go on about every dish! The dessert shooters were so yummy. I had the peanut butter and chocolate mousse one - highly recommend. Overall, our company had a fantastic evening as we celebrated the holidays. Much thanks again to Billy, Amy, Emily and the rest of the team at Barrique. We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate. read more
