I came here twice within two weeks: once for brunch and once for dinner and I had mixed feelings between giving this 4 stars and 5. For brunch: They have a great bottomless deal. $15 for bottomless sangria, mimosas or bloodmarys, when these drinks normally cost $12 for a glass. My sister and I ordered the octopus, breakfast pizza, and burrata and we ordered literally the perfect amount of food-we just didn't order food we enjoyed a lot. The octopus was good, it was sweet and a little salty. The burrata was creamy and plentiful, and tasted delicious! The breakfast pizza though... was disappointing. It felt like cheddar cheese was melted on top of thin crust with little bits of egg and chorizo. There was no sauce so essentially it was a piece of bread with melted cheddar. Egg and chorizo... and it wasn't very appetizing. I wish it was more like a regular pizza with tomato sauce and mozzarella instead. And our server that day was ABSOLUTELY amazing! She kept getting me a new glass of sangria without me having to ask, and if that's not great and attentive service I don't know what is. I also recently had dinner here with 4 of my friends and had mixed feelings. they don't take reservations after 6 pm... and when we called about a party of 5 they said they had no wait. 15 minutes later when we actually got there, there was an 'hour' wait. Sincer we were going to eat dinner at Barrique (and the bar was full) we went across the street for a drink. We didn't even pay for our drinks yet (8 minutes after leaving barrique) when we got the call that our table was ready? It was annoying that we all had to chug our drinks to get our table, since we were under the Impression it would be atleast an hour. We were happily seated though, which was nice. I got the drink that mixed the sangria with the frose and it was unique and delicious! We ordered the octopus, charcuterie board, grandma pizza, clams + tuna tacos. The octopus this time tasted and smelled very fishy. And no one at my table enjoyed it. The charcuterie was unbelievable though, it was SO good and I definitely would go back to munch on that again. Tuna tacos (5) were bite sized... literally, they were smaller than munchkins, so I'm not sure if they're worth ordered if you're with a group of 3+. The clams.. I don't remember them being amazing or horrible so I'm thinking they were mediocre. + the pizza was delicious. I highly recommend eating and finishing the pizza the second you get it, because it's on thin crust and if it gets cold it tastes soggy. read more

I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints! Prior to COVID this place would be packed, standing room only at times. With the new guidelines the bar has partisans up to separate the groups and the dining room is appropriately spaced as well with partisans. They have a great selection of one and cheese as well as a variety of small plates. Most recently my table ordered a cheese board and Barrique pizza which we all enjoyed. I came here with my dad and we split a bunch of plates. They all come out at different times which the waitress let us know in advance and I actually preferred it because it would be too overwhelming to have everything come out at once. Tuna tacos were pretty good. Tuna was fresh and the shell wasn't deeply fried, more on the lighter side. I had two different types of cocktails which were just OK and mostly ice, given they are a wine bar. Barrique pizza was pretty good. Lamb was cooked perfect, but the charred octopus was really overcooked and a small portion. My favorite thing was probably the short ribs. There was absolutely no fat on it, but it was so tender. My only suggestion is that they switch back to polenta with the short ribs instead of mash potatoes because the lamb chops also come with mashed potatoes, so we had two plates with the same side and we didn't really eat it. The desserts were just OK as well. They didn't have much texture or flavor. The waitress was really attentive and sweet. Overall really great experience. I'd come again! read more

This review is for the bar and the general atmosphere of Barrique only. But I do wish to be able to come back soon and try the food and spend some time. I was early for an event nearby so decided to walk around the streets and maybe grab a beer before heading back for my scheduled appointment. Just passing by on the street I knew I had to come inside and see what this place was all about. Very rustic decor and a relaxing vibe that just grabs you as you enter. A hostess station as soon as you walk in and a long bar that invites you to come sit and have a cocktail and unwind. Bar service was great as it was before the dinner rush and I had ample time to discuss the business with the bartender- who was, by the way, very friendly and had been there for a number of years and knew the skinny on the establishment and the area in general. The atmosphere in Barrique is so inviting and relaxing that if the food is a fraction as good as the ambience, I'll really love the experience when I get back. I've always wanted to eat at Barrique since noticing it in the Village when I was dating my husband. When our friend was over I suggested we eat there for dinner because there was outdoor seating and we could take the baby. Once hubby read the menu online he was all for it because it reminded him of the cafes in Paris. So on the night of August 27 we came here with our friend. Our server was really nice, I forget her name unfortunately but she served us during our indoor and outdoor visit. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. She had long semi wavy hair and glasses. Unknown server if you stumble on this review props to you for being so awesome! The first time we ate outdoors I ordered the grandma pizza to share with my friend, the rustic baguette with Gorgonzola sauce, a cheese plate (we did two cheese for $12), a 6 oz glass of malbec and a 3 oz glass of pinot grigio. Everything was terrific. The wine was tasty (this place definitely serves up awesome wine). The cheese plate was presented well with bread, the two cheeses we chose, honey, peanuts and a fruit that we didn't know the name of. The grandma pizza was thin crust so my friend and I easily polished it off because we can eat, it had a good ratio of cheese and sauce and interestingly enough was served with bread crumbs as a topping. The rustic baguette in Gorgonzola sauce was tasty, the sauce was warm, tangy and cheesy. The second time we came was our wedding anniversary dinner and we went without the baby. We had to sit indoors because it was raining right before we came and all the outdoor seats were wet. We had the same awesome server. We ordered whispering angel champagne to celebrate 4 years of being married. I had the vegetariano pressed sandwich, we split a 2 for $12 cheese plate again, the brussel sprout salad without the pork and hubby and I split the polenta fries. The salad was delicious full of veggies and a poached egg for some protein. The pressed sandwich came with a nice little side salad and the sandwich was placed around the salad it was delicious. The polenta fries were good but I wish we had more honey to dip them into and they were very hot for a long time. Overall I'm really impressed with Barrique. Here's a little info on the place before you go. Be prepared to drop some money. The prices are reasonable but everything is a small plate meant to be shared or eaten alone. You need at least two small plates to feel as if you've had a whole meal. Each plate is reasonably priced but the bill will be pricey because of the amount of small plates ordered as well as the drinks ordered. This is such a delightful little place. My first compliment goes to their effort to run their business in coronaworld without the need to hang up shower curtains all over the place or put those dumb stickers on the floor. We get it, set up your tables a little bit different we will do the rest. Now onto the actually review. The wine list is fantastic. They really cover all the bases for different flavor profiles. It makes matching your meal pretty easy if you know what you're doing. The wine is superb if a little pricy. The food was absolutely exquisite. We ordered the goat cheese ravioli, the tuna tacos, and the little lamb chops whatever they're called. So after eating like a charming gentleman and offering my date the last bite of each. I decided I really gotta come back here by myself and pig out. All joking and conjecture aside, this is a great place for a date whether it's the first or the 1000th. So, while my visit has always been delightful (big ups to Melissa on the wait staff) and the food good, I don't think there's much on that menu is absolutely rave about. Don't get me wrong, it's a larger portion tapas spot which I'm all for, and their dishes aren't bad at all, most of its good but so much of it leaves something to be desired at their price point. It's worth the try but it's "re-dine" potential just isn't there in my opinion. If I've said it once I've said it a thousand alcoholic times: get their Moscow mule with figenza. It's one of the better Mules I've had. The wine list is decent, the drinks are great (my girlfriend likes the butterfly- for both the name and the cocktail itself). This was my first time to Barrique and I am already planning my trip back. I got word that the chef was amazing here so I brought my entire family to try it out. To say it was fantastic would be an understatement. They have an extensive wine menu but my family and I aren't big drinkers . We went solely for the food and enjoyed every single dish. The polenta fries and brussel sprouts where my favorite! I also tried the Margherita pizza and the guacamole and they were amazing as well. Everything is just so well made, fresh, and flavorful. This place is my SPOT. If it wasn't so packed all the time I would definitely come here even more often. Barrique never fails, the Moscow mules and the shrimp oreganata pizza are my favorites. Barrique is one of my favorite wine bars to go to in Long Island! The wine list is on par with many places in the city, changes every so often to keep things interesting, and has a wide variety of wines. The variety is definitely the best point of this bar, because no matter what your tastes are or what price range you are looking for, you'll find a wine for you here. They also will open any bottle for you if you commit to two glasses, which is a plus. Another highlight of Barrique is that they sell Opus One by the ounce! Service has always been good here. The bartenders are friendly and the owner is especially helpful when it comes to great wine recommendations.
