Never again. This place is so overrated! Maybe people go there because of the cute outdoor seating or maybe the drinks are great, but whatever it is they include in the tortilla shell with those wee tiny, salad size shrimp was so disgusting that I ended up just eating the shrimp by itself, and even with 4 orders of shrimp tacos, when your taco comes with 4 tiny salad size shrimp - who's stomach would that fill? Complete waste of gas, time, expectation and money. I'll stick with Pappasito's, Takorea or Las Flores for delicious tasting, real sized tacos that cost the same as this place. Carlos and Cecilia (the bartenders) are fabulous. Carlos makes the most delicious margaritas and Cecilia is very courteous and attentive. It was my first visit to Bartaco and I will come again. The staff are courteous and helpful. The food is delicious and the ambiance is pleasant. The live music livens the ambiance. Overall, Bartaco was phenomenal and it made my first visit to Atlanta all the more special. Thank you Carlos, Cecilia and Carlos (the manager) for a great experience. read more

Home of the half taco for double the price. $4 per taco and it takes maybe 2 bites to finish. Great atmosphere, good service, but terrible value and portion size. I had five tacos at lunch today and left hungry. It felt like I just finished a small tapa or a small app. I paid $23 total without any cokes, drinks, chips n salsa, guac or queso for one person. I love this location! Service can be a little off sometimes, but the food makes up for it! I love the guacomole, mushroom tamales, plantains, corn and the bowls! Food is served family style all on one tray so that can get kind of confusing if you have a group of more than two. It can get crowded on weekends. Try to sit on the beautiful patio is you can! My guy was looking for a place to eat late night when I was visiting his place. We decided to drive up Roswell. He loves tacos and I knew that Bartaco had recently opened in the area. I pointed it out as we drove past and we turned around so we could see if they were open. Yes, they were. Open late night, too. We walked up to the counter and made his to-go order. He ordered a soda and they asked if he wanted to start drinking it now or wait for this order to be ready. He opted for the former. He ordered his tacos with specific instructions, but unfortunately they were delivered not matching these instructions. So why the 5 stars? The business dealt with this in an amazing manner. They started cooking up a whole new order of tacos, comped him the tacos, AND gave him a discount for a future visit. What?! They were so apologetic about the whole ordeal. The only thing he paid for was the soda. And, luckily, he ended up really liking the tacos. Says alot coming from him. Kudos for great service and management. read more

I've been to bar taco a few times at the Marietta Street location. I was in the neighborhood and decided to drop by the midtown location. The place is quaint, not as big as the other location but still has a great vibe to it. I sat outside and got lost in what I was working on. About 20 minutes had passed and a server came over to take my order as I had previously placed my menu card on the stand to indicate I was ready to order almost 15 minutes prior. After the server took my order the manager drop by and said he apologized that I had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to greet me. I said it was not a big deal I really didn't notice the time because I was wrapped up in what I was doing. The manager offered to get me a drink from the bar. I said it was not necessary. The manager insisted so I said yes and I decided on a Mojito. The manager walked away and the server brought my food about five minutes or so after. I sat for another 15 to 20 minutes and enjoyed my meal. The original server came over and apologize for me waiting and cleared my table and offered me the check. I sat for another five or eight minutes then paid. When the server came back with my receipt I said to her that the manager offered me a complimentary drink from the bar but i did not get it. I Told her to tell the manager never mind and I left. My post would've been significantly different had the manager not offered a drink, personally apologize for me having to wait then did not follow through on what he offered. again, I sat there for 15 or so more minutes waiting on a drink he offered me from the bar. Not sure how long this location has been in operation but there are a lot of kinks to be worked out. I was very disappointed that the very thing the manager apologized for was exactly what he ended up doing. On the upside I did enjoy my tacos! read more

My favorite taco place in Sandy Springs, Bartaco offers delicious fare in a cool atmosphere. The menu includes traditional Mexican standards, great seafood options, and some scrumptious options with an Asian influence. Tacos are small, 2-3 bite sized, and most appetizers can be split between 2 people. My absolute favorites are the duck taco, port belly taco, and the shrimp bahn mi taco. The guac and ceviche are solid. The house margarita is one of the best I've had. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and the vibe is relaxed and cool, with nautical artwork and lots of interesting photography. This place gets busy and loud in the evenings, and is a great choice for a date night or a laid-back weekend lunch. read more

My roommate and I have been trying new restaurants and stumbled across bar taco. Both of us have food allergies, and our waitress made sure our food was prepared as we had requested. Unfortunately, I did not like my dish (which was fine! I did not complain), and our waitress insisted multiple times that she give me something else, which I declined. During my first and only visit, I found the food to be very good and the service mechanism intriguing. We did receive immediate attention when we put up a call card, but our food took forever to get to us! One order was totally forgotten; an entire meal took nearly 3 hours for a party of 6! We were ignored for long lapses of time; we overheard our server attempting to get some compensation for us from the manager when it was time for the tab to be paid, but no action was taken. Always reliable and great drinks. The ribeye and pork belly are go to for sure. The guacamole is awesome. The drinks can be a little spotty so do not hesitate to send them back. I have noticed turnover can also be an issue but the food has always been spot on. Sometimes it looks crowded but I have never had to wait on the table. This is by far the best taco restaurant in Atlanta. They prepare all their food using organic ingredients. Their tacos are smaller and tastier than other alternatives. I can go and eat there almost every day. Just a warning: it gets very crowded in the evenings, so i strongly suggest making a reservation in advance if you are headed to this restaurant for dinner. read more

Very good food, exceptional atmosphere. I give this restaurant 5 stars overall, with the food coming in at a "4." The atmosphere, the drinks, and the service make up for the imperfect food rating. I've been a few times and each the service was excellent. Their drinks have a pretty good kick, so be prepared for them when you order. The tacos are smaller, and I normally can devour three for part of a filling meal. There is a more "authentic" taste for the food when you compare to other Mexican/Tapas type places. Ordered takeout through their online ordering system and was left with much to be desired. I ended up having to work with 5 different people just to pick up my order as they all seemed a little confused by their own system. Everyone I worked with however were very friendly and so I brushed off the wait. Eventually I was given my order but I noticed on my way to the car that the $7.50 bottle of hot sauce I ordered was not in the bag. No problem, it happens. Finally, I get home to dig in when I realize they also had forgotten my order of guacamole. I feel that if a customer has prepaid for their meal that someone should be checking to make sure that all their items are there. I guess I should have spent more time checking each box before I left. The food itself was mediocre. The pork belly and duck tacos were pretty good, but the pork tamale and grilled corn were a huge let down. Maybe the experience is better with sit down service. read more
