Always a fan of the Seafood Cobb. I came here to meet a friend. It always strikes me as such a random restaurant to have. On the outside it looks kind of run down and unassuming, but it's pretty nice inside. It is definitely the place to have a business lunch. Even though the Seafood Cobb wasn't on their online menu, I found it on their menu when I was looking. There's another salad that looks good that I might try next time, due to inflation the Seafood Cobb has risen in price quite a bit. However, it does have quite a bit of seafood. My friend got the Seafood Cobb too and she mixed the salad together. I ate it in it's deconstructed state. It's a good salad if you want to feel full and satisfied. Service is always great. We were looking to chat so we were there for two hours. We never felt rushed. There's a big parking lot so parking is always a breeze. Don't sleep on this restaurant. I know it looks like nothing from the outside, but it's a very good place to grab a lunch or dinner. read more

My mom and I went for dinner on Saturday evening for the first time. The meal was excellent and our server Carla was superb! Crab martini cocktail was delicious and prime rib was cooked perfectly. My only issue is with the managers. We were sitting an area with 9 different tables. Our table was the only one in the area without a male customer. 3 different managers came through the section and stopped at all the tables except the one with 2 females to check on the it meals and service. It was extremely insulting. While I did enjoy the meal, I am not sure I will return due tot the experience. Clearly a table of 2 females is not worthy of a check in from management. read more

From the first time you sit down until your dessert arrives and everything in between. In this visit we tried the steak tartare and it was so good. We most always order the ribeye and they cook it to perfection. And the cream brûlée is made so well with a great crispy top. We celebrated our 30th anniversary tonight and were eager to try something new after reading numerous reviews. We were VERY pleased with our experience. While this is primarily a chop house, the side dishes and appetizers pleasantly surprised us with their flavor. The wait staff was attentive and provided excellent service. Although we are currently staying in Clearwater and had to drive a bit to get here, it was definitely worth the trip. As residents of the Tampa area, we plan to return in the future. read more

Hands down my favorite steak house in Pinellas! They've been in business a long time and it shows! Truly a throwback to to the past with a cozy and understated atmosphere that's both welcoming and comforting. The way they dry age their steaks are what set them apart. Just phenomenal! Their prime rib is also highly recommended as their specials are not only a great deal, but the quality of the meat is top notch! As good as the beef is in this place, I cannot say enough for how delicious their French Onion soup is! It's my all time favorite soup and I've had it at every restaurant I've been to that serves it from the chains, to the smaller mom and pops joints all up and down the Bay area and this is by far my favorite! Not sure if it's sherry that they use, but I knew at first bite I had truly found a gem! I could survive on that soup alone! Service has always been friendly and prompt as it should in a restaurant like this. My husband and I came here for my dad's birthday and it was my first visit. It's a very nice steakhouse! We arrived on a Tuesday and it quickly got packed due to their steak specials on Tuesdays. Service here is fantastic! I'm so glad quality service has not fully gone extinct! Our server was Jack Frost. I'm not kidding! He was a great server and really added to our experience despite some mix-ups he had. And I'm so sad that when he packed my leftovers, he forgot to put in my loaded baked potato and the creamed horseradish for my prime rib! Ugh! But I got over it because at one point, he accidentally came over with a to-go creme brulee that we didn't order. Then he felt bad about it and gave it to us on the house (on top of my dad's free birthday dessert). Okay, the food. Great food! I tried my stepmom's gapacho (did I spell that right?....basically rare thinly sliced steak) and WOW, I'm ordering that for myself next time!! DELISH! I had a bowl of lobster bisque and it was very tasty. The prime rib was great and Jack told us a few times that it's cooked for 12 hours. I was a bit surprised to hear this because we just made prime rib for Christmas and it was not cooking for 12 hours but was just as--if not more--tender! I do think the prime rib could use a much more flavorful exterior bark. I also had a cocktail called Caribbean Passion and it was also great! We had wanted to go in for a while so when we went in last night we tried a little bit of everything. The calamari was perfectly cooked. The flash fried lobster amazing. The French onion soup was sweet not savory. We didn't eat it. My spouse loved his blue cheese wedge as the dressing appeared to be from scratch. He got the wagyu steak and it was truly amazing. I had the black grouper in pecans and it was so delicious. We got the creamed corn and mushrooms to try. Both were good but the corn was better. For dessert we tried their chocolate mouse which was mostly whipped cream and tasted like pudding. We didn't eat it. The blueberry cheesecake however was perfect and delicious. Ok don't ask what we were doing in Florida. Suffice to say it was a quick business trip and pretty exhausting. This is the land of strip malls and chain restraints and megastores so our expectations were pretty low. We were there just before the holidays and reservations were hard to get. When we pulled up at 8pm, it was clear why. This place is enormous and was filled to the brim with parties and families. Still we were serve promptly and the service was really good. We wanted to get our orders in as we had a 7am flight the next day and they were super accommodating. Suffice to say this is classic over the top American cuisines. For instance the appetizer is a maple glazed bacon. These things are enormous and at least inch think and list have a gallon of sugar and maple on them. I have to say they were delicious hit so rich I'm sure my boood glucose popped to 1M. They serve them dripping on foot high racks which is definitely an interesting presentation. They have a massive wine list and we had some very nice Italian wine. For our main course we tried the coffee crusted steak. I think it was a rib eye. The meat was well cooked but the coffee grounds meant that it couldn't really get the deep sear which we love so much. We couldn't have the sauce (dairy everywhere), so I'm sure that would add to the flavor. This was grain fed beef I think as the actually flavor was not that robust but it was very tender. Overall YMMV, but we like our steaks much more seared and then grass fed. The ambience was like an old English manor which is pretty interesting in suburban Florida but it worked. The happy families and people all around were great. The service was great and attentive and they were working really hard that day. Having to pay extra for all sides didn't sit well with me. $49 & $36 for a piece of meat on a plate with nothing by onion straws? It seems like a small dollop of mashed potatoes, rice, or a few pieces of broccoli would be an easy add. The bread was appreciated but it would be better if warm. There are a lot of wine options. I opted for a nice cab; he got a beer. The baked lobster and cheese appetizer was tasty but had very little lobster to be honest. 6 very small pieces in an escargot vessel smothered in cheese. I came here for a business dinner earlier this week and had a wonderful time! Excellent food and great service in an elegant setting! I began the evening with Bascom's Smokey Old Fashioned, which was both beautifully presented and delicious! The Billionaire's Bacon - with a tasty black pepper coating - was quite tasty (and I normally don't even enjoy bacon)! I enjoyed my six ounce filet, as well as the multiple side dishes our table shared. The wait staff was attentive, prompt, and took good care of our group. The space had a traditional steakhouse feel. Subject: Immediate Attention Needed: Disturbing Experience at Bascoms Clearwater, Fl I visited Bascom's on August 15, 2025 to celebrate my birthday and unfortunately encountered several issues that I feel should be brought to your attention. The oysters ($35) were of very poor quality--tiny, slimy, and unpleasant. The chicken marsala was unbalanced in flavor, overly sweet, and paired with runny mashed potatoes. The only Chardonnay offered by the glass was $20, which felt disproportionate for the quality provided. More concerning, while at the upstairs bar for an after-dinner Sambuca, I observed a cockroach crawling on the floor near the bar. When I alerted staff, it was simply crushed by the manager with a napkin at hand in full view of guests. Given Bascom's reputation, these issues raise serious concerns about both food quality and sanitation. I went to Bascoms to get a good steak . My friend and I decided we would share the $139 Tomahawk steak that was supposed to weigh 36 ounces. We thought for sure with over 2 pounds , it would be enough to eat for two guys . That was a huge mistake . They brought out this rediculously huge boned steak that had to have much less than even one (1) lb of meat . The bone was 2 inched wide and a full 18 or 20 inches long . The steak was cut into 7 ,fatty pieces and was really maybe enough for one person . I felt like we were absolutely Ripped off and we will not be going back to that place ever again . I recommend choosing another local steak house like Texas road house or Longhorn steak house for a bone in ribeye for a super great steak that actually comes with a potato and sides for one reasonable price . We had shrimp for our Appetizers. The garlic cream sauce and shrimp cocktail. It was the best. For sides we had grilled asparagus Oscar with lump crab meat. They were yummy. My husband had the porter house ave it was cooked to perfection and delicious. I had the Australian New York strip. It was very tender and juicy. I would recommend this restaurant. Been coming to Bascom's for a few years. Always been good, really good, great, actually. Tonight the service was next level. Manager greeted upon entering, friendly, welcoming, like always. Server--Scott--immediately we could tell that he had experience. We asked for appetizer recommendations. Without outright badmouthing one of our initial recommendation, he politely steered us toward something we would never consider--the crab martini. He was so sure that we'd like it, we loved it! Delicious. Also had the friend lobster app, also great. Ordered steaks and sides. Gouda broccolini and Gouda Mac&cheese both delicious. One of our steaks was initially a bit undercooked ($h&t happens). They made it right. The attitude was beyond apologetic, polite and courteous, too. Food is always great. Service, too. PRIME BEEF? We ordered Prime ribeyes cooked MR and R and they were both very tough - very hard to cut through with the provided heavy steak knives (Prime ribeyes cut through almost like butter). Bascom's is clearly NOT serving Prime beef yet claiming on the menu that they are "Prime" steaks. I am very qualified to make this statement and very sad to make this discovery. I do not work for a competing restaurant or company (retired). Shame on you, Bascom's, we trusted you! NOTE: Management's comments in response to this review do not address the reality of what we encountered. A well marbled Prime ribeye cooked medium rare or rare never requires a saw to cut through it! This was a culinary injustice and downright theft of our money. Bascom's Chop House After evacuating for Hurricane Milton with 9 family members and 7 pets, I promised myself a proper steak dinner once things settled. On Thursday, after returning home, I saw on Facebook that Bascom's would reopen on Friday at 5 pm. I quickly booked a reservation for 7 pm. When I arrived, the place was bustling--no surprise, given that it was not only a Friday night but also one of the few open spots. Despite the crowd, I was seated within minutes. I started with an EH Taylor Small Batch bourbon and a Bell's Octoberfest beer--a seasonal and satisfying choice. For my appetizer, I ordered the French Onion Gratinee ($12). It arrived piping hot--almost dangerously so--but it was absolutely delicious. The rich, beefy broth, combined with the garlic croutons, melted Swiss and Parmesan, and green onions, was comforting and flavorful. My only critique was that a few of the onion pieces were that of the outside layer of the onion and were too tough to bite through. Overall, I'd rate the soup 8/10. For my main course, I went with the Creekstone Farms Bone-In Ribeye--a generous, all-natural 22oz cut ($54)--along with a side of the mushroom medley ($11) and a loaded baked potato ($9). I ordered the steak medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender, juicy, and well-marbled, with just the right amount of fat expected from a ribeye. I only managed to finish half and took the rest home, but every bite I had was exceptional. The baked potato was perfectly dressed, fluffy, and flavorful. The mushroom medley had a nice garlic flavor, though I felt $11 was a bit steep for what appeared to be just button mushrooms--I would have preferred a mix of varieties for the price. Overall, the meal was a solid 9/10. William, my server, was attentive and provided excellent service throughout. It felt like almost every manager in the restaurant stopped by to check on my experience, which added a nice touch. It's prob a good thing I do not live in Florida or I would be eating too much red meat coming to this place all the time. Billionaire bacon has a little too much pepper for me. That was alright. Thursday evening I had the privilege of dining at Bascom's Chop House for the first time. The restaurant was quite busy so we opted to sit upstairs at the bar for a quieter dining experience. We started our dining experience with a few cocktails and the crab cake appetizer. The crab cake was a blend of spices and panko mixed with fresh lump crab, house made remoulade, paprika with a tomato and arugula salad. I also opted for the French onion soup, a beefy and herbaceous broth with garlic croutons, Swiss and Parmesan cheeses and green onion. It came out piping hot and was delicious. For the main entree I went with the Lamb Chops, fresh white lamb, three double cut chops. The lamb chops were very good and meaty and were deliciously paired with the enhancement chimichurri sauce. My only complaint was the lamp chops were quite fatty. My guest went with a 12 oz medium cooked filet. The tenderness & flavor were top tier. For the side we decided to split the Lobster Mac & Cheese which was absolutely Devine. It was extremely creamy with large clumps of lobster meat and more than enough to share. Although I was extremely full I did keep room for dessert. We were lucky enough to snag what we were told was the last Bread Pudding for the night. This dessert is not on the main menu but I believe is a seasonal item. It was absolutely delicious and without a doubt the best breading pudding I've ever had. It paired perfectly with the expresso martini as well. I also had to take a salted flourless chocolate Torte home. I did try a bite and it was also delicious with the perfect amount of richness. We've been in love with this place since 2019 and visited every time we are in Clearwater usually celebrating birthdays. This time we were in for mine and my daughter's birthday and enjoyed everything as always. We didn't have a chance to take pictures of the desserts because we ate them at once! We had Truffle fries, few salads, pecan flounder and steak. The food was delicious. Jason was very knowledgeable and pleasant. And the whole atmosphere is perfect very fancy and exquisite. Our first mistake was using OpenTable to book it, we told them it was our anniversary and hoped for an intimate dinner, When the Woman seated us, it was in a hallway off the bar on right where two large parties were sectioned off from us on the left.
