Amazing meal here for Father's Day. The filet was cooked to perfection. The hot honey carrots were great. And the garlic mashed potatoes were fantastic. The service was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. And the restaurant itself is lovely whether you're upstairs or downstairs it's nice. And there is an elevator if you need it to get upstairs.

Truly had a fantastic evening with my family at this restaurant. My in-laws have been there before and it suggested that we all go together. Great vibe and ambience inside we sat upstairs, which had live music. Let me start by saying our server, which was a young gentleman was outstanding definitely knew how to provide great service be entertaining, be energetic, and made our evening that much better. The food was excellent Three of us started with a Caesar salad and I had their lump crab martini. The salads were excellent and my lump crab meat was absolutely delicious and so fresh and they pack a good amount inside the martini glass when it's served For dinner, I had the prime rib. My wife had the pistachio, crusted grouper, and my in-laws had the cedar plank, salmon, and shrimp risotto. Every dish was spot on delicious and they give an excellent portion. The pricing for the amount and quality the food was spot on. Not overpriced and I don't mind paying a little extra for a really good meal. Definitely planning a return visit and if you haven't been, you should really try this restaurant.

My first visit to Bascom's Chop House was with a group of 4 friends for dinner on a Tuesday around 7pm. Making a reservation online a few days ahead was quick and easy. Upon arriving, the parking lot was completely packed, with some guests even parking along the side streets. Thankfully, valet parking was complimentary, which made things much easier. Even with how busy it was, we only waited about 5 minutes before being seated. Once inside, I realized the restaurant is much larger than it initially appears from the outside. One detail that really stood out was the attentiveness of the host staff. Two of my friends were dressed in darker outfits, and the host kindly swapped their white napkins for black ones to better match their clothing. That level of attention to detail was genuinely impressive. Since it was Tuesday, they were running a special on the 38oz tomahawk bone in ribeye, normally $138 but discounted to $108, so naturally that became the centerpiece of the table. We also ordered the wagyu carpaccio, thick cut bacon strips, calamari, and bread service to start. The bread was definitely worthwhile with a nice whipped butter and seasoned olive oil. The bacon was thick with a heavy peppercorn crust and a sweet honey spice flavor that balanced it nicely. The calamari was lightly breaded with smaller pieces, but still enjoyable. Their wine list is presented on a tablet and is absolutely massive. While the selection is impressive, navigating through it can feel a bit clunky and time consuming, especially when trying to narrow something down within a certain price range. Ultimately, the tomahawk steak was the main event. We ordered it medium rare, and to their credit, it was cooked correctly. Unfortunately, it came out a bit lackluster and only lukewarm. We found ourselves adding salt and pepper for extra flavor, and with the air conditioning blasting throughout the dining room, the steak became cold surprisingly fast. There were also several chewy tendon like sections throughout the steak, which took away from the experience even more. While the portion size was solid and the cook temperature was right, it was disappointing that such an expensive steak did not arrive hotter and more refined overall. Overall, I would still consider giving Bascom's another shot because the service and atmosphere were very good. However, if the steak experience falls short again, I will probably stick with places like Bern's or Charley's when I am craving a proper steakhouse dinner.

Business dinner here on a Saturday evening. My wife and I were excited because of all the great reviews and ads we have seen. It was very busy, as expected for Date Night. We were directed to the elevator and 2nd floor, where a private room was set up for our group. We were told we could order drinks from a waitress, so caught one in passing and ordered a couple soft drinks. It was very beautifully decorated and much larger than we had expected. I walked around a took some pictures. We were seated and business owner gave a short speech about the state of the economy and state of the business. This was very interesting and uplifting for all the attendees. Then dinner began. We were brought a small tray of veggies, fruits and cheeses. Then came salads, which were delicious. Our waitress brought a warm small bread loaf and sat it near us, so four of us by it, each took a piece. Then we realized she only brough one load for a table of eight, so were a bit shocked. Later we caught our waitress, who covered several tables, passed by and i caught her attention. I asked for more bread and she said she would try to bring some. Strike 1! She did bring several loaves about 15 minutes later. Salads were cleared and main courses brought. My wife chose the Filet Mignon and I opted for the Prime Rib, a special that night. Both came with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Onion Straws, and Vegetable Medley. Our courses arrived and they looked wonderful. My wife loved her Filet and said it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. However, when I tried to cut into my Prime Rib, I couldn't do so! The sides were so tough I couldn't cut through them with the steak knife, So I decided to cut around the tough outside to the pink interior. I was horrified! Even the interior was tough. I managed to cut off pieces and chewed them awhile because I didn't want to spit them out. It was the worst Prime Rib I've ever (tried to) eat. I've had better Prime Rib on cruises - in the regular dining room. Please see pics of before and after on the dish. Strike 2! Then dishes were cleared and desserts were served. Both of us ordered the Chocolate Torte. It was very good, but so sweet, I needed coffee to help wash it down. I had seen servers bringing coffee to other tables, so I caught our waitress and asked for coffee. She replied, and I quote "I'll see if we still have any." What? A very popular restaurant and they run out of coffee?? Needless to say, we were never brought coffee. Strike 3! It was a pleasurable experience overall, to sit and chat with other attendees. The salads and sides were excellent. The ambiance was great. Service was certainly lacking, and food was very disappointing.

Had a fantastic birthday dinner for my wife. Impeccable service and they made her feel special. Comped dessert and the blueberry cheesecake was delicious. Steaks perfectly cooked and seasoned. One of the best baked potatoes she's ever had. Lobster bisque and French onion soup both good. Very nice old steak house vibe. Plenty of parking and complementary valet. Although I wish my steak frites had traditional fries but the sherry sauce made up for it. Worth every penny!

Some words to describe our meal and experience... wow, amazing, delicious, attentive!! Honestly I had gotten a little upset stomach so I couldn't eat much but took my fried lobster home and heated it up in the air fryer and let me tell u if it's good after a reheat then the food IS DELICIOUS!!! The bacon was phenomenal, mon enjoyed the short ribs, we were here for my dad's bday and he loved the steak. Everything was great I would definitely come back! Thanks for making my dad's bday special. No complaints!

This was our meet and greet spot for dinner and what a dinner it was. Started with the billionaire bacon which tasted like a billion bucks. It was really good. The lobster Mac was decent, no complaints. Let's get to the steak... great New York cut, seasoned well with plenty of add-ons if that's your thing. I kept it simple and opted for a little extra salt n pepper. Great place, bring your wallet! I'm will return

Wow! Bascom's is now our personal favorite steakhouse in Clearwater. We went to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and this place hit every mark with flying colors. Let's start off with getting reservations, it was beyond easy to do through their online reservation system. Parking was beyond easy too no charge and we were able to get a front row spot on a Friday night! Now moving on to the food, we started off with the Wagyu Carpaccio which was amazing. I'm not one to try anything raw but I highly recommend getting it! It was paired with garlic butter and arugula salad. My only wish was that there were 6 slices of the bread crisps instead of 4 because the pieces were so small we ended up eating the meat by itself. Still it was delicious! Next we each ordered a steak accompanied by sides and wow! I got the filet mignon and my boyfriend got the New York strip both medium rare. For our sides, I got the salad and mashed potatoes and he got the Mac n cheese. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had and the Mac n cheese was rich and creamy. The salad even had a great Italian vinaigrette it was tossed in. Lastly, dessert was the icing on the cake literally and figuratively lol! We got the flourless chocolate cake and it was one of the best restaurant desserts I've had. In all seriousness, I am a very picky person when it comes to making a quality dessert and you could tell this has top tier ingredients. Overall, we will definitely be back and might even possibly make this our new anniversary spot since Timpanos in Hyde park really let us down last year. Thank you!

Okay -so for me -this was a nice family owned steakhouse --service was excellent !!! Food was tasty !!! Atmosphere like an upstate New York hunting style restaurant (my perception). Seemed to be a crowd of all kinds. The drink specials and menu specials were terrific. We got tomahawk and lobster appetizer with mashed potatoes and mushrooms: yummy.

Another excellent experience. Booked for Christmas Eve on Open Table... Dan was an excellent server, as was his associate whose name I forgot. An extensive wine list, we were very satisfied with our choice ( a Pinot noir / Jen Wright Cellars). All food was delicious, from the French onion soup, to the rib eye which was melt in your mouth tender and flavorful, to the Chilean Sea Bass to the outstanding and my favorite thud meal, Seated Diver Scallops ( with a phenomenal beurre blanc and pomegranate reduction)...OMG! Crème brûlée was delicious as well. Great atmosphere. Need to dine here more often.

LOVE the French Onion Soup WOZA. A must order :)...

Love Bascom's "Chop House & FRESH SEAFOOD." That's what the sign reads "Chop House Steaks & FRESH SEAFOOD" It's been way too hot in St Pete for heavy duty meat, steaks & potatoes. It's summer & in the summer, I eat FRESH SEAFOOD. Bascom's has the best Seafood selection. They do the best Wedge salad I have ever had. Add their Blackened SALMON it's a masterpiece. You must try it if you love Salmon like I do OuiOui. I have had it salt crusted as well it's also superb. The Salmon Florentine is usually a special, but it's also moi fave. I get it every time it's on the special menu. All three, Très magnifique OuiOui. One of the reasons Bascom's Salmon is so delicious is bc they get their salmon from Patagonia. They serve a very nice thick piece. Excellent quality Salmon. I have not found any better, yet. Bascom's also serves LOCAL FRESH GROUPER. The local grouper they serve here is WILD caught off Madeira Beach. Moi fave beach here also OuiOui. The Local grouper tacos are very yummy here as well as is the Local "Grouper Piccata." They serve the Piccata in a simple lemon butter white wine sauce. Simplistically gorgeous as it is delicious. The french onion soup here is the best on the planet. No one does it in the giant footed bowl like Bascom's. It has a 3 cheese gratin top & it's enormous. A MUST ORDER !!! :)... Way better than Berns in Tampa. Most of those people work here now anyway OuiOui. The oysters rockafella are also some of the best I have had. I have also added them to moi list of Fave oyster places OuiOui. The service here is just phenomenal. I have not had one bad service experience since I been coming here in almost a year now. Fall is coming quick, so i'm really excited to try the fall/winter menu & get into the Steaks & Lobsters that are just calling moi name.. Love that you can add any sauce like béarnaise, Hollandaise, Black garlic, etc., Cannot wait for the cooler weather so Moi can try them all with the filet & lobster OuiOui :)... The wine list is also superb with lots of amazing celebratory Champagnes. Christie (server) turned me onto the small pink bottle of sparkling rose. It's so pretty & so refreshing. Goes great with the seafood dishes & shrimp cocktail. Another MUST ORDER. You can order Bascom's online to go, you can drive right up to the front door & they bring your "to go foods" right out to your car window packaged beautifully. Sir Hubbers fave. Quality, professional service all around "la vie en rose" OuiOui. One of our favorite Restaurants in St Pete.. Added to moi lists of fave restaurants in St Pete/Tampa area, fave seafood places, fave oyster places, fave steaks & fave salade places. Highest Recommendations.

Now I'm down to a two. I have never in all my dining experiences watched a restaurant prioritize one patron over an entire section. I spent my dinner listening to a man use vulgar language loudly without regard to others in the area. The wait staff heard him, one table requested to be moved, and even after we reported him, they allowed him to continue. A manager finally came over and asked which guy was it and said I'm going to stick around and see if I hear anything. I had seen him in the area before and again the entire wait staff could hear this guy, not to mention their waiter who continued to serve him drinks. What I know is that since I do not matter to this restaurant as a patron, I won't return. Go where you are valued and appreciated. Far too may steakhouses in the Tampa area.

Chef came out and confirmed options, ordered a grilled cheese and fries right away (if you have a 2yr old, you know.) We sat and waited for that grilled cheese and our two entrees for over an hour and a half. We had to ask for updates, which never came. Many tables around us with small children were waiting this long too. We got the grilled cheese at the hour and a half, ours did not come with, and after our toddler finished half his meal we opted to cancel our order altogether. We missed nap time, we missed eating our meals, and left really frustrated with the lack of communication with a blank statement apology.

Service was stellar, our server checked up on us multiple times. Plus this restaurant is pretty spacious inside :) The zesty Bloody Mary was really good! The banana French toast was fantastic also! I loved that it came with so much. The avocado toast for a starter was good but I was hoping the toast part would be a little more toasted. My fiancé's fried chicken fried rice special was probably the best thing that was ordered at the table. The side of potatoes were also DELICIOUSSS. I would definitely come back for brunch. And honestly I was so impressed with it that I would come back for dinner also!

It was fine, but no substitute -- the honey made it a little too sweet for my taste. Still a solid pizza, just not the same. For apps we went with fried green tomatoes, truffle fries, and crispy fried wings -- a great spread to share. The tomatoes were excellent, still a little firm and not soggy, with just the right amount of crisp on the coating. The wings had a nice hot-and-sweet buffalo glaze, and the truffle fries were so good we ended up ordering a second round. The kids went with sandwiches. The Triple Smashburger was massive, towering height, though I'll note the patties were thicker than a traditional smash burger. The crispy chicken sandwich was excellent -- moist and crispy in every bite, and we upgraded to hot honey on the waiter's recommendation, which was a great call. Still one of my favorite spots in St. Pete, but Noble Crust, please bring back the Noble Pig.

I was here for a friend's birthday dinner, they aren't very crowded on weekday nights so it's easy to get a large table. I read my last review, which was that I should get a different dressing with the kale salad. When I read the menu, I saw that the blue cheese dressing is standard for the kale salad, but this time I asked what my other options were. I decided on a raspberry vinaigrette, and it was the best decision I could've made. So here is my order from now until probably eternity, it is the kale salad that has delicious amount of cheese and candied nuts so I don't feel deprived. I get raspberry vinaigrette which, even though I don't specify, I think they always bring dressing on the side just in case. And I add grilled shrimp. It is delicious, healthy, and just a great all-around salad. Parking was super easy on a Tuesday night there is tons of parking in this parking lot. They do close at nine, which I think is a bit early especially because there's so many people that live now in the apartments around. I hope one day they decide to stay open until 10. Our server was fantastic and we had a great time.

After about 10 minutes a manager named Arthur came around and asked if we had been helped yet and we said no. He said ok just be patient someone will be with you shortly. After another 10 minutes he said to just go up to the bar and order with the bartender. When we approached the bar the rude bartender said to go sit down and that she would be with us shortly. Again, no one ever came. No one ever gave us menus and we sat there for over 30 minutes before walking out. Terrible communication between management, hosting staff, and bartenders. Terrible staffing issues. Everyone was telling us to do a different thing and we were still never greeted or served by anyone!

Man, I don't hand out 1 star reviews often or lightly, but this place blows. The service was lame,…read morethe food was below average and the wait time was excessive. 4:30 PM on a Saturday evening. The bar was fairly busy with folks drinking and one other person eating. We bellied up, ordered 2 brews, an order of mild chicken wings and a medium classic burger, which was just meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. I wanted a different burger, but the prices were crazy high. The basic freaking classic burger was $10.50. After 20 minutes of waiting, we asked where our food was. The bartender went to check on it and returned roughly five minutes later. Unapologetic, he handed us our food. I cut my burger in half, and the damn thing was beyond well done, but since we were in a bit of a rush and hungry, I just ate the thing. First bite was crunchy because the edges of the burger were actually burnt. Nothing made up for the $10.50 price either. It wasn't a particularly large burger, it was dry, there was little-to-no seasoning and the bun was far from fresh. I mean, it's been a really long time since I felt so gypped. I ate half, got the rest to go and we bounced. I would have mentioned the ill-cooked burger had the bartender ever came back around to ask how the food was. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend eating here. There are much better options nearby, like Burger King and Moe's.
