Bascom's was such a delicious dinner. They put a twist on all common items found at steakhouses, so it's guaranteed to spice up your usually out-to-eat routine! My group started with their classic bacon strips. They are pricey, but it is worth it! Only order if you are a pepper fan, though, as the taste is very prominent. For my entree, I got the lobster tails. They were breaded which added some interesting flavor. It also came with rice and asparagus. I ended up having leftovers, but it was great! We closed down the restaurant, so we got our dessert to go. It was great to eat it in my PJs winding down for the night. Overall, great experience! Celebrated my birthday yesterday here. The food was amazing and the drinks outstanding. But the waitress Thy was not very personable and we felt VERY rushed our bread was just placed in top of the menu my husband had to move the food off the menus. We received our check with our dessert? What if we wanted something else ? Also the waitress told my husband sorry I charged you for the dessert , but I took it off . My first time here. Sadly, not as good as I had hoped. The good news: My French Onion Soup was a very good start. Lots of cheese, flavorful broth. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I chose to have the garlic shrimp appetizer and asparagus for my main. The shimp came in an opaque orange sauce that spoke more of paprika than of garlic. They were over cooked but still palatable (it's very difficult for shrimp to be cooked so badly I refuse to eat it) but I should have sent the asparagus back. Mostly over-large, woody spears with only two small, properly trimmed stalks. No seasoning at all and no sign of a grill. I ordered the flourless chocolate torte to take home for dessert. It was delicious, but a friend at the table exclaimed "I didn't know they had mini-desserts!" Yes. It was tiny. read more

I have never complained on my food at a restaurant but my scallops was so undercooked they were slimy in the middle. The waiter took them back then they came back black but at least not slimy. We have lived 17 minutes from this restaurant for 4 years and driven by it about a million times. We decided for our 13th anniversary to try this for our celebration. I kinda wished we had sooner. First, the service is top notch. The food could have sucked and the service would have made up for it. The food did not suck. We had the Saturday special, which was the 14oz filet and lobster. with 2 sides. Caribbean lobster. I didn't know they had lobster down there. We had the Gouda Mac and cheese with mashed potatoes. food was absolutely incredible. The filet had a sear or crust on it I had never had before. At first it was different and it quickly became excellent. Since it was our anniversary we received a complementary crème brûlée which was also incredible. What makes a five star review possible. It's a combination of atmosphere, selection, quality and service. This place hits all of those and more. The staff is helpful, friendly and eager to share the history of the restaurant and offer honest opinions on food and drink choices. The French onion soup was excellent as was the Caesar salad. The prime rib and wagyu NY strip both done to perfection. The sides of Mac & Cheese and Brussels sprouts great complement to the meats. The final crème brûlée was perfect. All during the meal the staff was attentive always checking in and two visits from Management staff shows what a quality establishment is like ensuring that you are satisfied and well taken care of. read more

this is literally the best food i've ever had i talk about it every day with my family. if i lived there i would go bankrupt. the first time i went my dad was like "get the billionaire bacon" and i was like "7 bucks for one slice that's insane" but we got it and holy crap it's so good. i dream of this bacon. i'd suggest getting just the single slice cuz when it's on the rack it's not as good. my problem the first two times i went was the regular course, i couldn't find something i liked that was cheap. but like the second time i went out severer suggested we get the burger so the next time i went we got it and its soooo good. it comes with the bacon in the burger so it makes it a million times better. i didn't think the fries were that good but im a total fry snob and i compare all waffle fries to chick fil a, and nothing tops chick fil a waffle fries. for dessert you gotta get the creme brûlée. i hate creme brûlée honestly but when we went the first time the lady behind us was like "get the creme brûlée" so we did and she was totally right like the top is like glazed ice and the inside is so soft. every day i would eat this food. don't get the pork chop it's mid. oh and that lobster tail appetizer is amazing too. read more

Our server was very nice and really liked him. BUT! Totally not worth it. The scallops were way undercooked and like eating slime. We sent them back and they came back super burnt. It was like the chef punished US for HIM serving undercooked scallops. I ordered the very expensive Japanese Wagyu steak, it was very burnt on one side so they hid the charred side on the bottom hoping I wouldn't notice it. I ended up just scraping off the burn because after what they did to the scallops I figured the chef would have his precious little pussy feelings hurt and spit on the steak. Amazing date night spot for me and my fiancé! The service is quick and efficient plus he loved that he was able to see the bar TVs for the game from our favorite booth. It is still very intimate and the food is always so delicious and perfectly presented. I usually get the lamb chops or salmon. He will get porterhouse or bolognese pasta (when it's available). A delicious meal fit for kings! Alyssa was super nice and accommodating as was all the staff we interacted with. The dining room was comfortable and quiet with dim lighting. Mom and dad had filet mignon served with yummy onion strings. I had the 18oz ribeye. Our sides were yummy asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. I tried the smoked fashioned with the recommended Whistle Pig which was yummy and a Gravel Pit Pinot from Russian River. OK, let's see where do we start? We had a party of eight and they started us off downstairs which was very crowded, loud and then between ordering drinks, wine, appetizers, somebody decided to move our party to the second floor. As we continued upstairs, we then ordered several different appetizers for the table. The bacon app was OFF the chain delicious absolutely out of this world, the flavor was phenomenal. Definitely give it a taste Lobster appetizer cooked perfect could not have been better. We also had some calamari and that was just so so so Did not impress as it seemed like it was rather overcooked... Now let's get to the service impeccable, very, very good. The waiters and waitresses were phenomenal. The service we received was absolutely the way I would expect it... Now let's start with the food all of our entrées from the ribeye steak to the wagu beef, Everything was cooked perfect. I heard several comments. The salmon was absolutely delicious. Shrimp phenomenal taste. So I would have to say this was an absolutely perfect evening for all eight of us... Bascom's is our go to place if we want steak or chops. The service and ambiance is relaxing and very enjoyable. It is a place we go for special occasions as it is a little pricey, about $90pp (9oz fillet & pork chop) with apps, sides and a drink but so delicious wish we could do every week. They do have specials if you don't mind eating after 8pm that are affordable. The waitstaff is the best, attentive but not hovering. Parking can be a challenge when they are busy but they do have valet parking too. We have enjoyed every meal we have had there. Dress code says business casual but we have seen Florida casual, dresses to shorts worn. Highly recommend. read more

Both drinks were perfectly prepared & were presented very nicely. We ordered the Garlic Shrimp appetizer & Calamari appetizer. It wasnt cohesive. Bread service? Really? We ordered it instead of an appetizer. Usually bread is complimentary, yet no free but rather is included in the overall cost of the items in the restaurant. Now, if you want to call it "bread service", in my opinion it should include a variety of different types of breads and butters/spreads. Great local chop house in the area. Was able to make reservations online and was seated immediately. They were packed and it was a bit loud in the resturant. I was able to try their French onion soup. It was delicious and wasn't salty. I ordered the filet with side of broccolini. Steak was cooked medium well and it was perfect for me. The steak did come with side of crispy onions. As for dessert I got to try their banana foster with brown sugar ice cream. It was delcious and enjoyed the hot and cold mixture of the dessert. Went to dinner at Bascom's for an early Mother's Day / birthday dinner for party of 7. Mother in law uses a mobility scooter and they were very attentive in making sure she was settled comfortably. Christopher, our waiter, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We never had to request a refill on drinks or ask for dishes to be taken away. Appetizers, main courses, and desserts were excellent as usual. I also suggest joining their free rewards program. The points add up fast and can be used as real dollars off your bill. Bascom's is one of the most underrated steakhouses in Tampa Bay. I would put their beef / entrees up against the more 'popular' steakhouses any day. Will be back, hopefully soon. read more

I wanted to love this place, but sadly it didn't live up to my expectations. The service was spot on, the ambiance was lovely, but you've got to nail the food at that price point! We started with the beef carpaccio and the buffalo cauliflower, the carpaccio was delicious probably the best thing I had all night the cauliflower was muh. I've had the boneless ribeye as my entrée and it came with fries. I ordered it medium rare should be a warm red center but it was overcooked more of a medium and for a steakhouse you've got to get the cook right... Fries are the easiest thing in the world so why are you serving broken bits for the bottom of a frozen bag?! Now I know why I waited so long to try Bascom's chop House, first and last visit... Amazing food and service. I ordered the house salad to start. The Parmesan cheese on the salad was worth the price of admission alone. I had filet mignon cooked a perfect medium rare. Not all beef is created equal and the taste was fabulous. I paired it with a lobster tail and I can tell you being from New England he ships those in fresh. Added the grill asparagus and I have half of everything to take home. Sadly I'm dieting but you will find crème brûlée on the dessert menu which I will post below. I've been to a lot of restaurants, specifically steakhouses. The service was good but my husband's steak was underdone. For high end restaurants, I have high expectations. We did notify one of the managers (I think he was a manager), but he was caught by surprise by husband's comment and just offered to touch up the already eaten steak....Our waiter said the same thing. Neither apologized, which is upsetting. Honestly, we just wanted some type of discount, because my husband left half of his steak on the plate, but we didn't get any discount at all. We would probably come back, but this place won't be top of mind for this and a couple other reasons when it comes to an amazing steakhouse experience. read more

I came here for the Valentine's price fix menu. There is a $79 option and an $89 option. I opted for the $89 option and ordered: Billionaire's Bacon - easily the best item we tried all night. I don't have any idea how this is seasoned, but wow oh wow is it delicious! I'm not really sure how to describe it, but it's super sweet. Caesar salad - standard All natural bone in ribeye - The steaks are fine, but superb, not bad. I felt like the steaks are missing seasoning and some butter. It's like they bought the steaks and out them straight on the grill without doing anything else. I ordered medium well and it was right on the spot. There's almost no lime in the key lime pie. The Rosemary and orange old fashioned was straight shots of bourbon. We sat upstairs and the is live music. Luckily we were far away as it was loud. Some people did get up and dance to certain songs. The staff was attentive and always came by to fill up your water. I'd totally come back for the bacon, but you can get better steaks, salads, old fashioned, and key lime pie elsewhere. read more

Went back again to give another try after the owner Paul reached out (didn't ever call him or his manager back or talk with him but appreciated his concern and he seemed to genuinely care) when passing through the area on way up to Alabama. I wasn't sure what to expect so me and my partner came dressed up. Didn't know if this was a T-shirt and jeans or fancy tux kind of steak house. We chose to get dressed up. Well it didn't matter. People wore shorts, jeans, fancy dresses, tuxes and a lot in between. The ambiance was nice. It was dark enough to convey privacy but bright enough to read the menu. One of the tables by us was celebrating graduation another was a bachelor party there were a few dates and people eating dinner. We didn't have to wait long we had a reservation, you don't need one if you're at the bar, but you may have to wait. The food quite delicious I got seafood and my partner got steak. We both got a few cocktails. I didn't take any photos because I brought my appetite. I didn't realize the food would take so long so next time I'd order an appetizer. Will I go back? Out of this world! I've been many times with the hubby & friends. I have not had a bad meal or drink nor have my crew. I always recommend a great filet & several in my party recommend the dry aged Wagyu ribeye! Freakin phenomenal. Cooked to perfection. Servers are well-versed on menu items & give the feeling of a high end dining experience. If you enjoy a "Cadillac margarita", order it! Every time we visit my hometown of Clearwater, we make sure to eat here & all friends are more than happy to meetup here for dinner. The nearby neighborhood I grew up in (Feather Sound) has a history of revolving restaurants, but I believe Bascom's is here to stay! It better be! read more

We decided to check this place out for my birthday dinner and it's been there for years so time to pull the bandaid lol. So I give it 4 stars because it was good and I did leave satisfied but compared to other steak places I have been to I can't say this was top on our list but a place we could come back to. To start we got the fried lobster which was amazing and I highly recommend. The billionaire bacon was good but the lobster was better. I got the ribeye and my husband got the filet mignon. My ribeye didn't loom big as it should for the ounces but it was cooked well and it had good flavor. My husband liked his filet mignon. The baked potato was awesome. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions and the manager was super friendly. This is a good place to visit and I could see us coming back. read more
