I love this place! It's owned by the founder of the Republic of Pie- another favorite of mine- so you know it's going to have great quality food and a chill atmosphere. Base Camp is, "a staging area used by mountaineers to prep for a climb", and this one is filled with snowy mountain scenery via their gorgeous curtains. The place is filled with beautiful paintings & inspirational quotes (restrooms), funny takes on politicians (they're liberals or at least Democrats) and various tchotchkes. There's a lot to look at. Food & drink: First of all, this is the best dirty chai latte I've ever had and I love-love-love the quinoa eggs Benedict so much that I find that I can't order anything else! It's 12.25, and comes with poached eggs, steamed spinach, quinoa patties, avocado, Basil sauce with fruit, salad or potatoes. I've also had the charcoal latte steamer and the lavender latte with espresso- both delicious! I haven't had the courage to try their beetroot latte yet- but I'm sure I will! Their other breakfast and lunch items (courtesy bites from my friends) are tasty too. The food presentation is quite nice. The equestrian center is right down the street so there will be horse people in da house along with millennials and local Burbankians. Very nice atmosphere. That's where my hood experience ended. As I can't have sugar, prior to ordering my breakfast I asked and was told by the one taking my order they do have sugar free syrup and even told him I can't do sugar. We receive our meals, meals weren't hot, and there wasn't any syrup. When I asked the server for the sugar free syrup, I was told she didn't think they had any. She goes and checks, returns telling me they don't have sugar free syrup. She never offered to exchange meal for anything else. Waste of money for breakfast. Our last visit here. read more

Went yesterday morning for breakfast and was super disappointed. Not sure if management or cooks changed but definitely not the same. Been going here for years and always enjoyed it. Started with the staff not as happy or friendly. Then my coffee was cold and tasted odd, not sure if it was burnt or old (house coffee). Then I ordered Lavender waffle with chicken sausage and my husband ordered the brisket burrito. Not impressed at all, had me wanting to go to IHop for my breakfast fix. My waffle tasted like it was an ego popped in the toaster and sat out too long and chicken pieces were cold and hard. This place is so cute! Staff is super friendly. You order up front and eat outside. They have limited parking but there is plenty of street parking which is easy to get access to. I got their french onion soup and was really happy with it. It was a cold and rainy day so the soup was perfect! The cheesy top and sourdough bread underneath was so good. The soup was also super hot. My friend got the panini chicken sandwhich and she really enjoyed it. Her dad got the same sandwhich but with parmesan garlic fries. The fries are DELICIOUS but they are VERY strong in garlic content. They also have self serve fruit infused water. It was VERY refreshing. My friend and I love fruit infused water! I really enjoy eating here, and I place orders for delivery pretty often. EVERY single time I order food they do not include napkins, ketchup or ranch. These are always requested when I place an order, it's obvious they just don't read the note section of their orders. Typically this would not bother me as a one or two time thing, but every time? On the bright side, their food is consistent, and taste pretty good. I really enjoy the grilled chicken wrap and their salads. Super cute place for lunch and the outdoor seating is great for summer! I met up with a girlfriend here for a weekday lunch since she works in the area. You order at the counter, grab a number, and then seat yourself. I ordered a chicken cobb salad and she got a burger. Not sure what was in it but she seemed to enjoy it. My salad tasted super fresh and everything in it was of high quality. A minor pet peeve of mine is finding even slightly wilted greens in my salads, but this wasn't the case here. The egg, the bacon, and the avocado were well done and looked appealing. The salad was very nicely put together. The dressing was very tasty and surprisingly light. The parking lot is pretty small so you might have trouble finding a spot during the lunch rush. There's usually street parking a little further down in either direction. read more

A trio of us met at Basecamp Dinette X Scout's Honor BBQ for brunch on Super Bowl Sunday and we had a "super" experience with the customer service and food. I ordered the Bagels and Lox with a Latte and both were delicious and hearty. The place was crowded and there was a short line to order. The inside ambience was nice and comfortable with many seating options to hang out and "shoot the breeze" with friends. I really enjoyed the artwork and cool furniture. There is outdoor dining too with dining tables, chairs and picnic tables. It was a cold day and finding a warm spot was not easy. I recommend a warm blanket, jacket, shawl or sweater if you dine outdoors in the winter. The customer service is friendly and attentive. My bagels and lox was delicious and tasted very fresh. The salmon was served in the shape of a rose and came with a sliced bagel, cream cheese, tomatoes, and capers. Our trio was happy with their food selections and we stayed until it closed, which was about 3 pm. There is a parking lot and some street parking available. Drink: My friends got coffee and I got a Moroccan mint tea. Hmmmm! So hot water + a mint teabag that tastes just like any other mint tea bag for $4.70?????? I'm shocked. That's laughable. The audacity to charge nearly $5 for tea is insane and then give the option for an 18% tax too? Hilarious! The only upside is that the tea was super hot which was great on a cold rainy day. I live in the neighborhood and have been a big supporter since it opened. Even through the pandemic I made sure to order take out and left extra large tips for the staff. Today, I was so disappointed at how I was treated. We took a walk and decided to pop in for a coffee. I asked the cashier what was in the London Cream because I wanted to know if it was sweetened with anything. The cashier didn't know so she asked the barista next to her. The barista rolled her eyes at me and said "I don't know. It's on the menu on the door over there." I walked about half way to the door, stunned. Then I returned and told the cashier I didn't want a drink the barista didn't know the ingredients to. I honestly would have walked out, but my daughter was so excited for her chai latte. My go to bbq spot in Burbank! BBQ is on the weekends and it's great. The food: my go to orders are: the tri tip sandwich, brisket, ribs, and spicy coleslaw. Everything here is really good and since it's been smoked all day, it comes out pretty quickly. The meat comes out very soft and tender. And their sauces are great too--my favorite is their house sauce (over the spicy one). Dining area: intimate outdoor seating with plenty of bench seating and heaters. I was excited to try out a new place to support small business and this place had good reviews. Well I went and purchased a couple coffee and was extremely disappointed by the quality of the coffee. Super watered down Americano and the cold brew was awful I asked for syrup in my cold brew and I had to add at home because they didn't even give me any syrup. The pastries were the only upside. Sunday lunchtime with the pup. We met a friend, and the amount of dogs and waiting for tables is a lot. The food is delicious, though it's very stressful to figure out logistics when you order your food. You need to sit on the right to wait for people to leave, and then people seem to hover once you're ready to go to get your table. There are a lot of families with dogs. Some are well-behaved, some not. If you go with friends and want to wait with no hurry, then this is the place. Recommend not taking big group and or pup or you'll wait a bit longer. read more

Basecamp is always a solid caffeine destination for folks in the Burbank area. I've been here multiple times and tried the teas and lattes, never disappointed. There's a small lot to park in the front, but come early because when it gets closer to 9am work rush, the line can be a tad long. There's a pretty extensive latte menu with interesting and unconventional flavors... even a MCT latte which I wasn't brave enough to try. What a really cool spot to get breakfast or lunch! A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine who lives nearby the restaurant suggested meeting there for breakfast. I hadn't been in the area for decades so I had no idea what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised when I got there. The restaurant has a very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Even though it is on the main street of Riverside Drive, the traffic passing through is quite light plus the restaurant is set back about fifty feet away from the road so you hardly notice any cars that do pass by. I had the omelette and it was delicious and very filling. Just a note, each weekday has a daily special which is basically an offering from the regular menu but discounted. I may give those a try the next time around. Although I'm not a coffee drinker, my friend's wife is, and she loves the coffee they serve. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven't already and even though outdoor dining has been put on pause for now, I think this place is worth getting a meal and coffee to go vs going to a corporate owned and operated place like Starbucks et al. read more

Where do i start,this is an update on my last review of Basecamp and now Scouts Honor. We moved to Rancho February of 2022 and found Bascecamp and fell in love with the place and food but there was something missing until recently and that something was Amanda and Mathew the new owners. Talk about doing a 180 the food has always been amazing but now with the BBQ on the weekends it's turned out little Rancho neighborhood into a community and not to mention the staff some old some new and all are super cool. We have met so many incredible people from far and near and there's nothing like getting people to talk when your chowing down on mouth watering pulled pork. The only problem i have is 5 stars isn't enough we need to crank it up to 11. Thanks for completing our neighborhood. read more
