Absolutely stunning restaurant overlooking the ocean with delicious food and outstanding service. Located within the Terranea resort. We came here for lunch and all left very happy and with full bellies. We were a group with two little ones and they were provided them with coloring sheets and crayons. They also have a kids menu and the kids food came out super quickly! Everything we ordered was delicious and we split it family style. The watercress salad was amazing, highly recommend. Such beautiful leaves and overall presentation to the salad and the dressing really takes it to a whole new level - I could have that dressing on every salad and be happy. It's a creamy sesame dressing. Shishito peppers were tasty. We got the California blossom roll and subbed sea bream for salmon and I thought it was delicious! We also got lobster fried rice which also had a beautiful presentation and was very delicious. Great for sharing. Our waitress Vianey was amazing! She really went above and beyond to provide us with exceptional customer service. Everyone including the little ones loved her. She had such a friendly attitude overall, and was patient with all of our - and the kids' - requests, including providing them with paper water cups with lids to prevent spilling! We were there celebrating my sister and she surprised us all by bringing her a plate of 3 mochi ice creams on a plate that wrote Congratulations. It was so sweet and the kids/ everyone loved it. We were also trying to figure out which cheesecake to get off the menu - the ube or vegan lemon. We went with the ube and Vianey surprised us by also bringing us a slice of the vegan since we were considering it. So nice!! The ube cheesecake was STUNNING, and everyone seemed to love it. The vegan was also good but it had a grainier texture to it. Thank you to Vianey for making our time here memorable and special!

What a wonderful dinner experience. We were staying at the resort and made a reservation at Bashi for our final night. So glad we did. We sat outside on the patio. Beautiful setting and nice heat lamps for the cooler evenings. Our wait staff were helpful and did not rush us. The food is served family style and comes out as soon as it is ready so our waiter suggested ordering a little at a time. We started with the spring rolls and bang bang shrimp. They were both wonderful. The bang bang shrimp is a must get again! We then got a Red Dragon Roll which was fresh, flavorful and just the right heat. For our entrees we ordered the Wok Fried Garlic Noodles with Beef and the Crispy Seabass Filet. We will definitely get the seabass again and probably more than one order as there were four of us and we could have easily eaten just the seabass! We shared 2 desserts as well. The Whiskey Miso Bread Pudding which was a bread pudding made of croissant bread with whiskey and a to-die-for hot brown butter miso sauce. Served with the vanilla bean gelato. So yummy. The Vegan Meyer Lemon Cheesecake was unbelievable as well. The walnut crust and lemon cheesecake made of almond milk, cashews and cocoa butter was perfect. Not too sweet but very creamy and flavorful. We have stayed at the resort a couple of times and this was the first time we ate at Bashi. We will be back just for dinner soon!

Celebrating at the best restaurant ever!

One of my absolute favorite restaurants. The food here is outstandingly delicious. The staff and waiters here make each guest a priority and treat them so well. Each time I dine here I am impressed by everything. This restaurant is very worth trying, and I can't wait to be back! My brother and best friend held their engagement dinner celebration here and there are no words to truly express how wonderful everyone's time here went. The ambience, food, staff, everything is such an experience I never found anywhere else. The staff truly make everything so special. And the chef is amazing! Thank you a billion times over for such kind and special hospitality.

HE is RISEN! We celebrated Easter here yet again with my family, and it honestly couldn't have been a better experience. We got to sit in our usual spot right in the center, overlooking the ocean and pool, such a beautiful view and always our favorite. Our fur baby Louie got to join us, as always, which made it extra special. Everything we ordered was so good, from the sushi to the shaken beef to the miso soup. And the beer definitely hit different after giving it up for Lent lol! They also added chicken skin on their menu and my husband enjoyed that a lot! We also tried the ube cheesecake, and wow... it was seriously so good and exactly what we needed to end the meal. Our waiter was amazing. super friendly, attentive, and even took what felt like a million pictures of us without hesitation, all while keeping a smile on his face. This is why Bashi will always be one of our favorite spots at Terranea. Cheers, Bashi Team!

Had a very pleasant experience at Bashi. We had an 8pm reservation. We were seated within 5 minutes. Our server Jerry was helpful and polite and even practiced his Spanish with us as he stated he was learning. It was very nice of him. We decided to try the crispy chicken skin and spring rolls. It was indeed very appetizing. For our main courses, I ordered the Triple Delight sushi roll and Beef Udon Noodles. My husband ordered the wok tossed garlic noodles with beef. All food thus far was delicious and high quality. I thoroughly enjoyed my sushi roll. I am also usually used to the thick and bigger udon noodles and was surprised the noodles they used at bashi were not super big. But nonetheless it still tasted good. It is a pretty upscale restaurant. When you come for dinner, the inside of the restaurant is in low light. There is also outdoor seating, which would be perfect for the warmer weather days. At the end, Jerry brought out a mochi dessert to celebrate my birthday. It was 3 mochi in the flavors of Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry, which I was happy about. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and definitely recommend checking out bashi. I would come back!

Always a solid option in palos verdes, especially since there are little to no Asian restaurants on the hill. Consistently friendly service & tasty food using quality ingredients. The patio has a nice refreshing ocean breeze with a lot of powerful heat lamps and is more enjoyable than the inside tables - no views of the ocean, mostly of the resort pool. Definitely on the pricier side for Asian food in a casual comfortable setting, but worth it if you want something in a pleasant environment & don't want to drive a minimum of 20-30 minutes to just get out of palos verdes.

Bashi serves as one of the nicer dinner options at Terranea Resort and is going to be your best bet on a Sunday evening when Mar'sel closes early. Located on the second floor, their patio overlooks the main pool which creates a pretty nice backdrop for a romantic dinner. I am always a little wary of asian fusion restaurants, but the food served here was well prepared with quality ingredients. We were correct in assuming that the cooked entrees would be a better option than the raw fish, as the hamachi carpaccio while tasty, was cut a bit too thick and the flavor of the fish was lost in all the garnish. The Bang Bang Shrimp was a much better option, served with a generous portion of beautifully plump shrimp in a sauce as sweet and savory as expected. The crispy sea bass was also delicious with the light crispy crust giving way to the juicy and flaky fish. I was impressed with the execution of both dishes which were well balanced for both asian and non-asian palettes. If Bashi were open for dinner any earlier than 5pm, I would think that the patio location would be too busy and loud to create a romantic ambiance. But as the sun begins to set beyond the glow of the lights of the main pool and cliffs, it creates a very pleasant space to enjoy a nice dinner. My wife and I enjoyed our time here and would gladly return.

High quality Japanese cuisine! The nigiris are fresh and portions are generous. Great view right by the pool. You can pick between outside and indoor seating. Prices are typical resort food prices. This is my favorite restaurant across the restaurants in the Terrenea resort. Expect to spent about 40/person if you get appetizers as well. Service is great as well. They have TVs so great for watching games. Bar seating is also available. Favorites include the scallop carpaccio, crispy tuna rice, seafood plate salad, and the blue fin tuna.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary dinner here and were so amazed with the quality of the beef in the fried rice. So glad we asked and listened to our waiter's reccomendation about the beef quality! Overall, we had a great dinner despite being so full from lunch, we finished everything and enjoyed the beautiful view of the resort.

At the Terranea Resort there is a sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor called Bashi. We ordered one roll just to check it out and it was not that great. We got the Bashi hamachi roll with spicy albacore, yellowtail, yuzu de gallo, serrano cucumber, with a balsamic glaze. Honestly balsamic glaze does not mix well with these ingredients gave it a weird tang. Thankfully we only ordered 1 roll. Dont get me wrong maybe they have other things that are delicious but based on that roll not that good for $26. We came at night since we are local and the ambiance is great next to the pool and near the ocean. Our server was nice though

Great views, great outdoor ambience, friendly staff, and delicious food. Rainbow Roll - a classic roll, can't mess this up. Fish was fresh. Sashimi bowl - one of my favorites. Fresh, great presentation, just all around delicious. Ube cheesecake - I love Ube so thought this would be my favorite. I just thought it was ok. Ube flavor didn't stand out. Banana pudding - This was my favorite by far. Delicious, moist, warm, and a nice whiskey miso flavor. Salt and pepper calamari - Crispy, tangy, light. An awesome appetizer. While I wouldn't come back here just for the food (Rancho Palos Verdes is pretty out of the way for me, and this hotel is more out of the path), this experience was awesome and I enjoyed every bite.

Went on a date here and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was great, the food, service, and the overall ambiance! Abraham was our server and gave us great recommendations since it was our first time there. He was very attentive to our needs and answered all of our questions :) The food was delicious and there's so many more things I'd like the try in the future! The crispy rice was AMAZING! I'd go back just for that but overall 10/10. I'd love to visit again soon!

We came here 2 nights in a row to celebrate my niece's 40th birthday while staying on the property. We were impressed with the food both nights, but we were only impressed with the service we received from Tim the first night. Server Tim was attentive, gracious & warm from beginning to end. He went out of his way to acknowledge my niece's birthday, which I really appreciate! Our food came out at a paced speed: Green Beans - tender, wok tossed & served dressed in a mildly spicy soy based sauce. These were so delicious, it was my favorite dish & we ordered it both nights. Crispy Rice w/Spicy Tuna - sadly the only food disappointment; the rice was cold & so densely packed before cut into squares, that it was a bad kind of chewy - & not crispy at all. The spicy tuna was good, but this was still a regrettable choice. Kaisen-Don - a chirashi-like bowl of very fresh uni, tuna, salmon, ikura, tamago, scallop, masago, hamachi w/a dab of yuzu pepper, spicy tuna, seaweed salad, sushi ginger & wasabi over sushi rice. This was such a big hit with us, we repeated it the next night. Shaking Beef - super tender chunks of beef on a layer of thinly sliced potato, in a delicious sauce, & a dish of lime juice to accent the flavors. Delish! Garlic Noodles w/Tofu - a very generous portion, with whole soft cloves of garlic & chunks of fried tofu. We ate a lot of it & still had leftovers to go. Mochi Ice Cream - who can resist vanilla, chocolate, & strawberry mochi covered ice cream! My niece had the Yukimi martini that came in a glass mini carafe set in a bowl of ice chunks, with a few edamame to enjoy with it. Tim even had Fernet Branca brought over from the next door Catalina Kitchen to serve me a shot as a digestif. I needed that after overindulging in the garlic noodles! The following night, we returned & all the food we ordered was excellent (Kaisen-Don, Green Beans, Brussel Sprouts, Chili Mansi roll, Bashi Hamachi roll, Yukimi martini). We should have asked for Tim that night, but we had a different server. He set 2 big bottles on our table when we ordered a sparkling water to share "just in case we wanted a 2nd one". We had barely finished the 1st one when we asked for the check. Without asking us, he cracked open the 2nd one & was about to pour when we stopped him, saying we didn't ask him to do that & we were done. He said "well, since I've opened it you can just take it with you". We were taken aback at his premeditated blatant upselling after warm service through our meal. Only after I protested, did he take the bottle away & remove the charge from the bill. What an icky move to dump on us. My niece & I are picky & particular about food and we both gave bashi (and really all the food on Terranea grounds) very high marks. If you appreciate authentically warm & gracious service as we do, we recommend Tim.

Our usual not-so-usual go-to for Chinese in the South Bay had been Seashore at Calle Mayor and PCH but I remembered the food being somewhat bland on the last visit several months back. We have also enjoyed Lunasia (for Dim Sum) and Ruiji farther east on PCH but it has been a long time (at least for Ruiji) and the reviews and pictures for Lotus looked really good. I also liked the All-Day Happy Hour! $3 house wines, beer and hot sake as well as the complimentary (and delicious) garlic noodles with $50 purchase ($11.95 value). We ordered the Crispy Crabmeat Cream Cheese Wontons ($10), Spicy Orange Crispy Chicken ($21.95), Kung Pao Chicken ($21.95), Sweet and Sour Pork ($20.95), Beef with Broccoli ($20.95), Mongolian Beef ($21.95) and Crispy Honey Shrimp ($25.95). Yeah, the prices, I know, but again the All-Day Happy Hour and the free noods! The food was a hit...everything was great, fresh ingredients, packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken wasn't spicy so don't worry if that's not your jam...the Mongolian Beef was probably my favorite and the crispy honey shrimp was lightly fried "to perfection". I hate that phrase but it is appropriate here, truly. Service was excellent. The food came out very quickly and our server was fantastic. It was my 87 year old Mom's birthday and they brought out a cheesecake and candle for her too. We did have tons of left-overs so it will go a longer way which helps with the cost. The first time I ate here, it took maybe 20-25 minutes for me to get my food. This time, I had my food in around 10 minutes. I was very impressed with this big decrease in wait time. This time I tried the new Hokkaido cream pasta, which tasted super fresh and made to order. The cream was warm and rich without feeling over the top like some other cream-based pasta sauces from Italian/American places. I liked the addition of spinach and mushrooms as well. The restaurant is in a food court with a few other options, and a decent amount of seating. It's also inside of a grocery store, so if you're with a picky group, everyone could theoretically order something different and eat together. I remember I was a little put off by the anime branding of the restaurant at first (it seemed a little childish to me) but Pasta Stories is really a solid wafu pasta place, and I love that they focus on different regional flavors of Japan. Ordinarily, I don't care for the texture of shredded beef, but that's not on them, and the food was terrific. The banchan were plentiful and tasty; the cabbage kimchi was a standout. So why only 3 stars? From the beginning, the waiter, an older gentleman, was unsmiling. That's ok. I don't need him to smile or be friendly. I just need him to be a good waiter. But he wasn't -- at least not to me. He didn't check back on me even once. Never asked if I needed water, more banchan, another beer, never even glanced at me. He passed me multiple times, however, to dote on the other 3 tables that were occupied while I was there. I was the only one he completely ignored. There are three possible explanations that I could come up with, since when I spoke to him he assured me I had not offended him in some way. The first explanation, although unacceptable, isn't sinister. The other two are problematic. 1. I was the only one sitting by myself, and he thought he'd get a bigger tip at the other tables. It's not an ok thing to do: ignoring solo diners. But it happens, and I know everyone's got to make a living. This is the *most* benign explanation I can come up with. Or . . . 2. I was the only non-Asian in the place. 3. I was the only person with a visible disability in the place. I gave the waiter a chance. I calmly and quietly asked him to explain why he had ignored me completely and served the other tables to my exclusion. His answer: "I didn't want to disturb you." No, I didn't buy that either, and I told him so. I'm not quick to jump to conclusions like #2 or #3, but it's not looking good at this point for Kim's BBQ. I have friends who live and eat in PV, and God help this restaurant if I ever conclude that either of those is the reason for my treatment today. If I ever conclude that, I will not let it go. Clean it up, Kim's BBQ. There's eyes on you.

I typically let them suggest the sauces; yesterday I got ponzu sauce as well as a shoyu sauce that was suggested. Then the items are delicately mixed by (gloved) hand and the bowls are handed over to you with a side of wasabi, ginger and packets of soy sauce. Went there yesterday For dinner and was disappointed. Portion is too small for the amount of money…read moreI paid. Fluffe up salad and a spoon of rice. And salmon was undercooked. Literally an appetizer. I made eggs ri after I ate this bowl. Never going back
