I met up with a friend here for a quick brunch. Parking wasn't an issue at all since it's located inside The Source OC mall. The interior had a nice, cozy German-inspired vibe and was beautifully decorated. However, when we asked for menus to order our brunch, they told us they only had two copies available. Since other customers were using them, we had to wait just to see the menu. Even though we could check the photos and menu on Yelp, having only two menus is definitely a con. (There are no menus on the wall either).After ordering, we had to wait nearly an hour for our food because the group right ahead of us had placed a massive order. The owner was sweet enough to apologize and give us complimentary macarons, which we appreciated, but the long wait time definitely needs improvement. Fortunately, the food was delicious enough to make up for the wait! The perfectly soft-boiled eggs and fresh salad made me want to come back. It was just a bummer because we only had an hour and a half for brunch, and an hour of it was spent waiting. Other than that, everything else was great.
I'd like to come back when they have their full menu again. We went yesterday and they only had drinks and soufflé pancakes. It really pretty inside. I like that! Not sure why there are placemats on the seats... it's confusing. I think I saw they are in the middle of a soft opening? I've heard their sandwiches are good. Again, I'd like to come back when they have more on their menu. The services yesterday was quite slow. It took about 30 min for one soufflé pancake. But our coffees were pretty speedy.
Well i went on 12/31/25 and they were open! It truly is so beautiful in here. My friend and i went and got the make your own souffle which comes with 2 fluffy pancakes. I wanted matcha but they were out which was a bit confusing since it was only like 12:30pm. I got custard instead with strawberries. My friend got the strawberry cream. Both were incredible!! They are not too sweet which is great. I would love to try their towel cakes. Service was polite and helpful. Plenty of seating. It's in the source so there's parking. I would def come back!
I got an Iced Brown Sugar Latte w/ Oat milk. It was really good. Since it's in a soft re-opening it wasn't very busy during my Saturday afternoon visit. Lots of seating options, inside and outside. Customer service was excellent, was greeted upon entering and the 2 employees were friendly and quick.
We stopped by and had an iced vanilla latte and a hot latte -- both were really good! The decor inside is beautiful, calm, and perfect for relaxing or chatting. The cashier was very nice and attentive, which made the experience even better. It says "permanently closed" on Yelp, but it's open -- and definitely worth a visit!
This cutesy cafe spot is located on the first floor in the Source and it's not hard to miss with its interior and exterior being navy blue. It has that library type vibe decor and feels like a nice study spot because it's not too crowded nor loud. For breakfast, we ordered the fruit soufflé pancake and an avocado toast. I really enjoyed devouring the pancake because it was fluffy and the sweetness was not overpowering. This dish comes with strawberries, blueberries, and banana, so each bite of the pancake with whatever fruit creates a unique flavor. It may look basic at first, but the simplicity itself makes it grand. 5/5. As for the avocado toast, that was at most a 2/5. It was dry and the avocado looked old. The color was off too. Pretty sure anyone can make a better avocado toast for a way cheaper price. Service was nothing special, but the food came quick. If we do come back, I gotta try their teas. Maybe it. Better than Twisted teas.
Came in hoping to get some nice brunch to find out they only had 1 menu.. which was the souffle pancake. Even that they had limited selections. Supposedly they had change of ownership and is undergoing some changes? No sign, letting customer know of the situation. If I knew would have passed. It took them 30 min to to make and serve. 30 min! And we're the only customer. If it wasn't for my son, I would have just left. Oh and they gave us plastic fork and knife? What happened to balisur that served nice silverware and water?!?! This new management and or new ownership gone bad.
Cute little casual place to meet up for a coffee or light brunch. I went twice in a month and both times I remember the place being quiet and quaint. The soufflé pancakes really stand out on the menu and are worth trying once, but in terms of flavors, nothing too noteworthy. In fact, the first time I visited, each of my girlfriends and I ordered a different flavor so we could try them all, and they were all very one note and similar. I think the tiramisu was my fave out of the bunch. Another visit, I ordered Benedicts and they were ok.
Very cute and decorative place. I came with a friend on a Wednesday an evening, the friend actually came to this place a while ago and wanted to try it out again. We ordered the afternoon tea, you get to choose two different tea leaves (English breakfast black tea and some kind of ginger tea). And it comes with a tower of sandwiches and desserts. Roughly 80$ for two people. The staff gave us a number so we can sit down and wait, we got our teas first and cute cups with plates. Sugar and cream and stirrers are on the front near the register. We did have to wait a while for the tower of food to arrive. It was cute and adorable, looks better and mostly great for a photo than a meal but definitely an array of indulgent items. It came with 2 cucumber sandwiches, 2 egg salad sandwiches, 2 scones with jam and cream (cream was amazing), 2 macaroons, 2 mini muffins, a cup of fruit cream and a cup of chocolate cream. Everything was very decadent, it's a lot of sugar and carbs but also very enjoyable and fun! As a treat I'd definitely think it's nice once in a while, but it's also a good thing to take your time so best not as a quick snack. There was only one unisex Restroom inside the cafe near the back. There are plenty of seating area and tables so howling it isn't an issue with overcrowding on weekends.
If you're looking for an aesthetic experience, this is a place I'd recommend to check out. As soon as you walk in you're hit with an artsy vibe--I was reminded a bit of Harry Potter/Wizarding World--but not exactly so it's open to your own interpretation. The Huz wanted a whole Ube Cheesecake (even before trying it because he had faith it was gonna be good--it's also close to $30 at the time of our visit) but we were told that it wasn't available. I don't know if we were feeling moody this day, but it rubbed us the wrong way that it was on the menu but not available. What was available was a slice ($7.00 at the time of our visit), so with a little confusion (like, if you have slices, why don't you have a whole one?) we got one to try. When we received the slice, we were taken aback at how small it was. I think we were expecting a size closer to the ones offered at the famous cheesecake franchise. The cheesecake was good, creamy and all that. We also got an Ube Latte and Strawberry Matcha Latte--both beautifully presented. The taste, pretty good. Overall, we had a good experience. Just not necessarily a repeatable experience for us.
I always remember to come here every once in a while to look for that luxurious, European feelings because their decorations, foods, and overall ambience are just phenomenon. The theme is blue-ish, velvety, so it matches my energy. I like their tea set and soufflé pancakes (sooooo fluffy and will melt in your mouth). Although their prices can be a little higher for some people, I feel like the owner will spend a big chunk of their profits into building and maintaining the aesthetic-looking things around here. And I enjoy it, so I think my money is well spent because I love the experience they give to me. Will definitely be back if I crave for some fluffy pancakes!! read more

The strawberry puree they use in the strawberry matcha is really good. However the matcha flavor is weak so the flavor balance is a little off. Still better than most. Do recommend. read more

This place has been on my list for a LONG time now because I've been wanting to try their souffle pancakes. I've had these types of pancakes in Japan twice and a couple times in OC, so I wanted to come here for comparison. Unfortunately, like most other places in The Source, this place closes pretty early around 10pm (early for me). I teach a dance class at a nearby studio and I finish around 9pm, so it's always cutting it close for me. This time I decided to just go and be "those people" who come right before closing lol. But totally worth it. My friend and I shared the Blueberry Yogurt Souffle Pancake and also got a side of Ube ice cream and put that bad boy on top. Arguably the best decision I made that month. It was heavenly. The pancakes were a bit expensive for my taste, but many of the stores here are because of the area, so I totally understand. These types of pancakes usually run expensive too, though I think other locations might be slightly less expensive. But if you can shell out the cash, it's worth a try. At least for a special occasion. Recommend going here if you've never tried souffle pancakes, but there are other good places in OC too. read more

Best eggs benedict I've ever had in my life. Instead of an english muffin they serve it with fluffy pancakes! Total game changer. I ordered the salmon eggs benedict and my goodness, it was heaven in my mouth. Staff is friendly and food came out pretty fast. Also love the vibe and decor inside the restaurant. This tea house is really cute! I love their tin teas and fruit tea cocktails. I tried my first soufflé pancake as well! I'm not super fond of soft textured food but this was really delightful. It was super warm and tasty!! I wanted to try their waffles but since I always hear about soufflé pancakes, I figured I should try them first. Delicious choice. Customer service was okay. The young man working was really sweet (5/8 around 4pm or so), but his female coworker (the one with the really curly hair) was super mean to him. We were waiting to order because she was yelling at him and taking drinks of his service tray and slammed them back on the counter. You can tell she had an attitude and I felt really bad for him because the restaurant was really busy and you could tell orders were getting backed up because she wanted to micromanage everything he did. While we were waiting for our drinks and food she kept slamming the ice machine door open and all and all I felt really uncomfortable there. It was my first time visiting and it just didn't sit well with me. When we left you could tell the young man was really stressed and it broke my heart. Hopefully she is trained to better treat her coworkers, or at least learn if she has a problem to take it in the back. I work retail and that's never okay to do in front of house. All in all though I had a great experience in regards to the food. read more

I had very high expectations coming in here because the place seemed very nice and clean. I might have gotten the wrong item but the tiramisu pancake was not good at all. The cream on the pancake tasted nothing like tiramisu and honestly tasted like there was sweat in it because I think they added cream cheese to it. The only reason why I gave this place 2 stars is because of the service. The staff was nice and professional. Water was provided to wash down the taste of the pancake. If you come here, don't get the tiramisu pancake. read more

5 star for atmosphere (in comparison to other small cafe/ tea spots), 4 star for the teas, and 3 star for the food. I personally really enjoy the milk teas here. They are kind of expensive but very flavorful and distinct. Finally tried actual food after half a dozen visits or so, and it was ok. I would probably recommend sticking with their specialty soufflé pancakes if you're willing to spend the $$ over their Benedicts. The salmon egg benedict was cold all around and I don't even think they warm up the English muffin it sits on. The taste was fine but the presentation was poor compared to the soufflé pancake. Overall I would at least stop by and try something and hopefully something will spark your interest. read more
Visited on a Sunday afternoon and the cafe wasn't too busy! The cafe is located on the first floor of The Source. There is a parking garage and parking is free. This is more of a self-serve cafe than a restaurant. You place and pay for your order before getting a number and seating yourself. Our group has been eyeing this place for a while because of the souffle pancakes. We ordered the matcha souffle pancakes with fruit, tiramisu souffle pancake, smoked salmon benedict, and eggs benedict. The food was mediocre and the plating was not up to par. Pricing is quite expensive for the quality of the food. The benedicts were laid on top of a souffle pancake instead of the typical English muffin which we found interesting. The tiramisu souffle is on the sweeter side compared to the matcha souffle. If you've never had a souffle pancake I would definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

jiggly pancakes ya'll. Ive had his place bookmarked for over a year so im SoO HAPPY to unclick that bookmark button. Basilur is located in The Source on the bottom floor. Its on the hidden side so you have to look for it. My first impression was that this place is aesthetically pleasing. I loved the colors and the table set up. Its def more on the cafe end. Basilur offers specialty teas, lattes, coffees and finger foods along with their fluffy souffle pancakes. I didn't really look at anything else because my eyes couldn't leave the souffle page. We landed on the blueberry yogurt souffle and choose a seat and waited our 20 mins. When we were waiting we noticed that visited at the right time, at brunch time. The place pretty much cleared out and we were able to order and get seats immediately. Before we knew it, the pancakes were ready. When i tell you these pancakes were melt in your mouth amazing, they almost left me speechless. These pancakes were so buttery and fluffy and smelled amazing. Not only were the pancakes fluffy and amazing the fresh blueberries and yogurt were a perfect tart topping that pared well with the buttery rich pancakes. I loved the, so much! I can not wait to go back and try the other flavors! read more

After discovering the incredible concept of soufflé pancakes in Japan, I went on a search to see where this was in California. Basilur is one of the very few places in Orange County with amazing soufflé pancakes! Love the strawberry and cream one and the tiramisu pancakes! The lattes here are amazing too. The best part about this place is the decor looks like a chic library. It's perfect for brunch date, girls get together or even during the weekday, to study! read more

Cute little cafe- good for tea and the soufflé pancakes. They take around about 20min to make, so sip some tea and relax for a bit. Milk teas- earl grey is a bit flowery. Milk tea with breakfast tea is a bit more of a standard black tea, I think. Florentine eggs benedict: not bad. Nothing to write home about, but still ok nonetheless. Comes with a small side salad. Hollandaise sauce is ok, eggs were standard. Pancakes- pretty good. Eggy, as these types usually are. You get two of them with plenty of whipped cream and toppings. Pretty filling if you're eating one by yourself, albeit- it's basically dessert. Great overall experience. read more
Such a great place for brunch! The ambiance here is too cute- perfect for your Instagram aesthetics, from the food to the interior design of the restaurant. We came on a Saturday at 9:30 am for brunch and it was quite empty which was nice! Lots of people started coming soon after, so I'm glad we beat the rush. We also brought two dogs with us, which was nice with outdoor seating. It's a little pricey but worth it for the aesthetics of the place. ORDERS * Floretine Benedict - eggs benedict served with pancake, spinach, and tomatoes. I am a huge fan of egg benedict and thought this dish was okay. Pancake gave the whole dish a very sweet taste instead of the usual savoriness that you would have with egg benedicts. This also came with a salad that was super duper drouched with italian dressing and it was very soggy. * Hot Ube Latte - super tasty and subtle ube taste! Usually most ube lattes are super powdery, but not this one! Place has lots of indoor seating. This is located in the Source OC so parking available in parking structure. The only saving grace besides the ube latte would be the very cute and quaint vibes, reminding me of Europe! They also sell their tea in books which is very lovely! YES, THE SOUFFLE PANCAKES ARE AMAZING. Now that, that's out of the way. Let me give a little more insight. I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw this place. The location was alot smaller than I pictured, but the interior had alot going on. It seemed like a tea house and library came together. Moving on, I was very disappointed at the variety of items on their menu. I was hoping for more breakfast items, sandwiches, and other cafe type foods. But, they really only had Eggs Benedict & Souffle Pancakes. Which were both AMAZING! The place was a bit pricey, for such small portions, but the only reason I would come here again would be for those PANCAKES. Wow, just wow. Just try the Souffle pancakes all I got to say. ever wondered or imagine what clouds would taste like if they were edible? Well the souffle pancakes here at Basilur is what i would imagine clouds taste like: fluffy, light, and airy! My friend and I got the ube flavor and tiramisu flavor. Both were great but i like the ube flavor a little bit more. The pancakes, oh man, till this day i am still thinking about them. I wake up wanting them and wishing to have just one bite before i go to bed at night. I'm not overhyping it, it was just that good. It was buttery, soft, and very airy. They serve the souffle pancakes all day which was great! if Basilur is anywhere near my house, i'm in trouble because i will be broke. all my money will go to daily souffle pancakes. The cafe is really cute too, they have a wide range of beverages as well. i did not try any of the drinks nor other food. I only came here for their pancakes and now i'm hooked!! Headed here for brunch and was absolutely delighted! We got the Eggs Benedict and Florentine Benedict. The yolk on the benedicts melted right onto the fluffy soufflé pancake! I loved how instead of using traditional english muffins, they used their signature soufflé pancake. It makes the BIGGEST difference. The dressing on the salad complimented the benedicts really well! Of course we had to get the Tiramisu Soufflé Pancakes, which were SUPER fluffy! The vibe inside was really peaceful and aesthetic. Definitely coming back here for brunch the next time i'm in Buena Park. read more

Place looked promising for desert after dinner. Walked in than proceeded to wait ten minutes for service. No attempt at apology worker just straight looked at us and continued to wash the dishes. The soufflé is small for the price and the americano was basically a coffee. Skip this place read more
I come here for the fluffy pancakes. I haven't been able to find them anywhere else and my god they are delicious. They are really sweet tho, so I don't necessarily need any of the extra toppings. Plain will do. Other than that I don't try anything else here because the source is full of other treats and I save room for everyone. read more

The place has a really cute and nice aesthetic and I especially enjoyed the Ube Latte and their eggs benedict. Their benedict base uses pancake, which makes it unique and lighter to eat. However, their strawberry pancake wasn't paired with strawberry pink cream, but just a regular cream, which was a bit disappointed especially because I was expecting it to look like the picture they have on their wall. read more
The wife and I were down in SoCal for our anniversary and wanted to find a tea shop to chill and relax at. Yelped it up and found this location close to our hotel. This place is so nice! When you read about this, let me note that we were there for a few hours on their patio. They have inside and patio seating. The outdoor seating sits under the walkway for the upper levels, so you aren't sitting in the sun and there is a nice breeze coming through that keeps the temps nice. Food and drinks... started off with the hazelnut latte and the raspberry & rose hip milk tea. Both were so tasty! We got both served hot (you can choose). I finished mine (the raspberry/rose hip) and had to order a second. For food, we ordered the salmon Benedict and the croissant sandwich (pesto, ham, cheese, lettuce, and tomato). Both were great. The sandwich is served on its own. The croissant was soft and flaky, the toppings went well together. The Benedict is served with a small salad. Unlike a traditional Benedict, this uses a small pancake instead of an English muffin. It went so well together. The hollandaise was well crafted and not overpowering. The eggs poached perfectly. The salmon was so flavorful, it just melted in my mouth. Later on, we were joined by family and tried the banana soufflé pancake and the fruit soufflé pancake. The pancakes are thick and fluffy. Both are covered with a very light, sweet whipped cream, and adorned with bananas and a variety of fruit. The banana is also drizzled with caramel. Just delectable. As for the service... They are great. The young lady working the counter, Sam, is very friendly. The cooks do amazing work. The young man preparing the hot drinks, Brendan, is an artist. I also asked Sam to make me an off menu item, mango and pineapple black tea with milk. Just delicious. We've been here for 4 hours as I'm writing this with no plan to leave anytime soon. This review is solely based on the matcha soufflé pancake we had! The soufflé pancake itself was super light and fluffy, but the matcha whipped cream on top wasn't sweet enough at all, and tasted a bit odd (almost like durian...) Since the pancakes weren't sweet either, it overall just lacked flavor. However, I can tell the cafe is a really cute place to study and potentially get breakfast. The decorations are adorable, so i'll have to come back and try their other dishes! read more
YES. IT'S TRUE. THEIR SOUFFLE PANCAKE IS AMAZING. I've never had one up until this moment and mannnn, my life has changed forever. It's located on the first floor of The Source and is next to Jamba Juice. The inside is very modern and has a very elegant aesthetic to it. Their floors and table tops are marble and their chairs are velvety-suede! I felt like royalty sitting in that place! Plus, the place was clean and well-kept. We ordered the PLAIN SOUFFLE PANCAKE and the EGGS BENEDICT: The eggs benedict was okay. Wouldn't really buy this again considering how steep the price is. Isn't really worth what the price is listed as + I've had better. Docked a star because of that disappointment. On the other hand, the souffle pancake was to die for! SO JIGGLY. The texture.. the creaminess of the whipcream... i- i have nothing else to say. Do yourself a favor and come try it. I know I'll be back for more. TLDR; Come for souffle pancake. I ordered the original egg Benedict for brunch. The price is decent. However, I think the portion is kinda small for me, it didn't fill me up. The egg Benedict that I used to have usually comes with bread but this place serve it with soufflé. It looks very unique to me. This place has a good collection of tea but I did not try it this time. I will definitely come back here to chill with my bf next time. They also have high tea here, only 25 dollar per person. This place also has a table for people to study. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for some time and finally went to try it a week ago. Their tea service included with the afternoon tea set I ordered came in a paper cup which is not how I like my hot tea served when I'm dining in. The black tea the cashier recommended was good however. The croissant, croissant sandwich, and macarons was great as well as the scone. However, I wasn't a fan of the cake, it tasted like it had been in the fridge way too long. They gave me two identical cakes for some reason. The soufflé pancake was good and I will definitely come back for more of their pancake in the future. I'll have to come back again once all the COVID issues are resolved and they go back to China tea ware for the tea service. Service wasn't that great and it looked like one of the workers was super stressed out with bringing food to the tables and sending out to-go orders. All three workers in the front were nice and considerate. read more

This place has a nice variety of tea and coffee selection. It's small and cozy . The food was delicious and the only reason it's not getting a 5 star is because the food takes a long time. I would still recommend going and grabbing a matcha oat milk latte read more

One of the few cafes that serve soufflé pancakes. I always passed by the cafe, but this was my first time trying it once I saw they served soufflés. Inside the cafe is beautiful with a British themed decor. Also, most people in the Café were studying and didn't get food, so it was pretty quiet when I went. Their specialty is tea, and you can get their own tea leaves they sell. The food is little pricey and it's not enough food for a meal, but you can tell the quality is great. Soufflé pancakes were very fluffy and the fruit was fresh, while the pesto sandwich had a very nice crispy croissant and fresh pesto. read more

Been meaning to try this place out for a long while now and figured today would be the day. Basilur Tea & Coffee is almost on the corner suite of the bottom floor at the Source in Buena Park. It's right next to the Jamba Juice. At first glance this place looks pretty cool with the interior decorations and high ceiling. The vibe is pretty unique. I came early morning on a Thursday and ordered an Eggs Benedict and a Macadamia Latte. The Eggs Benedict was good, however, I did not expect not having an English Muffin at the bottom, but a little soufflé pancake instead. The texture and flavor of the soufflé pancake added a sort of chewy sweetness that I did not really expect, and to be honest, care for. Otherwise the hollandaise was pretty standard. There's a simple salad with a vinaigrette on the side of the Benedict. The macadamia latte is pretty good. Get it. There are also other pancakes/waffles, sandwiches, and similar brunchy-type offerings. Including an Ube flavored waffle/pancake! I will make an effort to come back and try it next time. Very cute and attentive service! The soufflé pancakes were light and airy just like the ones in Japan. Some places make them taste a bit too eggy, but this place they nailed the recipe. Also had the Eggs Benedict and matcha tiramisu roll. Nothing too special for the brunch food but the cake was decadent. The space is very cute and picturesque. If I was back in college I'd like to have studied here. read more

It's contains actual milk the milk teas are pre-made

There is oat,almond and soy milk but it's gonna be a dollar charge

Saw some people studying and sitting for as long as they want talking, so I think so

It's like a chocolate trifle and yes, all layers were edible. I did not eat the flower on top when I've ordered this, but I think they do use an edible flower too!
When and what time is your non-peak hours?
The last time I went there was around 4pm on a Friday, there were my table and the other two tables of 2. So I believe their non-peak hours can be after the lunch and before the dinner rush. So around 4-6pm!
Is this the same owners of Souffles in ktown LA? The food and drink menu is practically identical...
