    Cobb salad

We came here for dinner after camping in the Eastern Sierras for a week and were not disappointed! Service was friendly and professional especially for such a young staff--we were genuinely impressed. We ordered the country fried steak which came with grilled veg (asparagus, squash, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower) and potato wedges, and a Cobb salad. Great value for a small mountain town. We sat outside in the garden patio and enjoyed all birds flying past. Definitely recommend if you're ever in town.

This place is super cute. You order at the front then you find a table. We had the Philly cheesesteak and taco salad, both were good. I absolutely loved the outside seating. The service is friendly. You do clean up your table when you're done. Don't forget! Great spot to stop at! Unfortunately no dogs so I'm leaving that here just in case you wanted to bring your furry friends.

Omg. This was so yummy. The chicken fried chicken was A+! the potatoes were okay, I wish they were more cheesy but the star was absolutely the chicken. I was here 4th of July weekend but our service was still great and I loved eating in their beautiful outdoor patio. It was so magical.

    Tri tip w/ macaroni salad

Basin cafe was such a welcome surprise! Definitely the spot to eat at Lee Vining. Friendly staff with a nice outdoor dining area. We stopped by after leaving Yosemite and had such a great experience. The tri tip sandwich was delicious and the tostada salad was perfect. The menu offered a lot more variety than one would expect, but the quality still exceeded expectations. Very unassuming spot that will deliver you a smile. Definitely worth a visit if you're passing through and need a bite. Would visit again!

The food here was very overpriced, especially for what you get. Our salad and bbq chicken sandwich were each $20 and were bland. The cafe itself was very cute and their garden was lovely, but that doesn't make up for below average food.

Ribs and elk burger in the back

Went here for dinner with my husband and the food was solid and flavored well. The servers were friendly. My husband ordered an elk burger cooked medium rare with a side salad. I ordered the half ribs plate. The portions are huge but my husband and I finished all our food pretty quickly as we enjoyed both. The elk burger had an interesting taste since it was elk and not beef. It was slightly gamey but less gamey than lamb. It had onion rings in it and the overall flavor was really good with all the toppings in it. My ribs were sweet and also had an interesting marinade - blueberry and blackberry sauce. The ribs came with cheesy scalloped potatoes and vegetables. Yummy food and big portions.

Wonderful patio for outdoor dining. Grilled burgers and hot sandwiches starting at 12 pm - delicious veggie burger and BBQ pork sandwiches. Homemade coleslaw is strongly recommended as well. Friendly service! Will be back when visiting in June Lake

    Philly cheesesteak

5 for the service - the girls at the counter were killing it on a busy night and still super friendly, helpful, patient. 5 for the oatmeal cookie we ate while waiting for our meal. Have a feeling all their baked goods are gonna be good 5 for the carne asada southwest salad, my only gripe being that the plate was too small (don't wanna say the salad too big because I finished every bite) so it was challenging not to make a bit of a mess 3 for my partner's cheesesteak - may have been end of night (they stopped taking orders a little after we placed ours) but partner reports insufficient cheese and veggies, and the meat in cubed form (which was disclosed upon ordering by our kind servers). Their burgers and sweet potato waffle fries looked bomb and they have mammoth beers - next time!

The staff were very friendly and attentive, always coming to check if my fiancé needed more coffee. I ordered the Mike's special and my fiancé got the Nicely's special. We also got the bread pudding Ala mode. It was sooo delicious. The crinkle fries were nice and crispy and the sandwich was nice and flavorful as well. It is definitely great diner food. This place reminded me of a diner we had back at home in Hawaii and it had history just like this diner but due to COVID that diner closed its door. It was one of the last standing diners that we had and they got closed. So I was very happy to experience this diner vibe again. If you're on your way to or from Mammoth, you should definitely stop to try if you haven't.

My daughter had the chicken strips and fries. The chicken strips were probably made there - didn't seem frozen. Very fluffy and crispy. Loved them. Crinkle cut fries could use a bit more salt. But that's totally fixable at the table. THE RANCH WAS DELICIOUS!!!! We will absolutely be back on future trips up and down 395.

Been eating here for years, and along with all other places in town, you just can't go wrong with this place, no matter what you order! This morning specifically, I got another meat lovers breakfast burrito. So big, easily enough for two people! But I would suggest buying one, and saving half to eat on later, because it's that good. I've ordered probably everything on the menu at one point in time or another. Everything is always great, and please keep in mind. EVERYTHING IS MADE FRESH TO ORDER, So during peak season, there's usually a line of people. So just be patient, because it will be worth the wait! The burgers are amongst the best along the 395! Julio is one of the cooks, and that boy knows his way around the kitchen! Cheryl is the owner, and is usually taking your order at the counter. She is one of the most wonderful women in all of Bridgeport! They have outdoor seating, and across the parking lot I believe there's still indoor seating, but I haven't been in there in years. Aside from great food, You're almost guaranteed to run into PCT hikers, campers, fisherman, etc, and most have interesting stories to tell! Thanks for the burrito guys! I'll stop back in and see ya next time I'm home! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. So if you find yourself this part of town while there's snow, and Tioga Pass is closed, don't even bother. Second, it does take a while to get food since they seem to make them to order, so if you're in a hurry, grab the ready-made items or snacks. We were pretty skeptical of fish tacos all the way out in the mountains, so we settled for the lobster and crab taquitos. Honestly, the taquitos felt like they came out of the freezer and weren't that special, but the rice was really good! I'd come here for a pit stop, but it's not like I have to eat here, unless I have a long journey ahead with no food. Bonus: they have plenty of seating including outdoor seating with a fantastic view of Mono Lake!
