I came in at the start of the week and was greeted by the sweetest lady wearing a hijab such a warm and welcoming experience right from the start! I was placing two cake orders, and she was unbelievably kind, patient, and asked all the right questions. She even checked in about the different sprinkles and frosting for each cake. I really appreciated how honest she was about what could and couldn't be done. It made the whole process feel so easy and stress-free. And JESSICA the cake maker WOW. She did an absolutely AMAZING job! I sent her inspo photos and even brought in some extra Legos and toppers to get the look just right, and she completely nailed it. The cakes turned out PERFECT. I've been to this Baskin Robbins many times when they had the other owner. The current owner does nothing to improve the store no matter how many complaints they have. Customer service is horrible, the girls are very rude and very disrespectful. They do not greet given that that's their policy, they are not kind when helping you with your order if anything they rush you to keep talking. The reason why i'm writing this review is because not only are they super rude when I come with my kids but the ice cream they gave me had mold and when I questioned them about it, it was something in the freezer. That's insane I could only imagine how they store their cakes. I do NOT recommend coming to this certain Baskin Robbin's unless you're looking for horrible customer service, bad quality cones and moldy ice cream if so, this is the perfect spot for you. It's 8pm and I need a fix, and I need one quick! My mouth is salivating, and my muscles begin to get weak as I sit in the passenger seat. My girlfriends honda rips through the streets of east los until we find our mark. The fading pink light from the store front barley lights up as we pull into the parking space. An employee finally greets us, "I want the ice cream cup with crushed Reese's and chocolate and caramel syrup along with a mango smoothie with no banana for my girlfriend." The front door opened a few times and now the place is packed with customers, luckily we arrived just on time. Our order was up, the vanilla ice cream was creamy as it began to slide down my throat. The pinch of Reese's peanut butter cups crushed to bits added a crunchy element to each bite, along with the punches of caramel and chocolate syrup! My muscles began to relax, I was satisfied. The mango smoothie was quite pungent, but very good. The mango flavor tasted genuine and natural, not artificial. My sweet tooth was fixed for the night, and I enjoyed each sip and spoonful. Small but it gets the job done. This Baskin Robbins is in the corner of the 1st St. plaza. It is highly overlooked... I noticed that because everytime I go, it is nearly empty. But mention an evening of FREE icecream and the line goes around the corner!! (it happened last year) Maybe Boyle Heights just doesn't like great ice cream that costs money. Well recently I went and got great service, ordering my cake as well as when I picked it up. I am very picky on ordering cakes, but they captured everything I wanted on the cake and inside the cake.
