My experience here was terrible. I've been coming here over two years but the last time broke the camel's hump. The place stinks like moldy sewage that has been fried over dirty elderly diapers. There was this one skinny mutha who was awkward and made me feel uncomfortable and this crazy dude who was in his run dmc clothes... not in uniform. He smelled too. The ice cream was decent but a little raw. What can you expect from 2 week old cream. The ice cream cakes looked like they were made by 5 years old. No offense to five year olds. I would have to say that I've been here a couple of times and the store is brightly lit and kept clean. The ice cream selection is a fair amount and each flavor boasts its own unique taste. The ice cream is definitely creamy and has a cold milky texture to it. It doesn't feel light as it feels like a heavier treat. I like the coconut flavored ice cream here and the chocolate rocky road. I absolutely LOVE this location!!! I love Baskin Robins to begin with and I was stoked to see a couple locations around us when we moved here from Arizona. We began going to the location on Capital Expressway but the staff there had no idea how to make a Root Beer Float (my fiancé's fave). We came to this location and the Owner made him the best float he has ever had! They always have the flavors I love as well as new ones. The owner and staff are wonderful and friendly. Excellent service!!! The craving for a frozen, sweet-treat hadn't hit me until later on in the evening, and upon my arrival, disappointment quickly set in as my friend tugged on the locked doors. The store had closed 30 minutes prior to our arrival, and upon closer inspection, we could see the staff busily performing their after hours/closing duties. Luckily for me, the gentleman inside had noticed us, and with a welcoming smile, he immediately opened the doors and welcomed us in! Whoa, what, WOW! We gratefully thanked him for his kindness, and I made my selection which resulted in a single scoop of the Vanilla Pomegranate Parfait Frozen Yogurt in a sugar-free cone (which was absolutely delicious b.t.w.). The gentleman was in fact the owner, accompanied by his wife (who we learned is responsible for making their selection of truly beautiful cakes). Their willingness to open the doors and serve us 30 AFTER THEIR POSTED CLOSING TIME in itself, no doubt deserves at least 4 stars, but they get a perfect score from me because after all was said and done, when I tried to pay for my scoop, he refused my payment and said, "It's your lucky day. It's on the house! You guys have a great night!" Somebody pinch me because surely I'm dreaming!!! Thank you, SO MUCH! They've just acquired me as a forever customer, for sure. The shop was very clean and well organized. Ice creams were properly labled, neatly displayed, and well placed. Their store is small, but completely functional. Windows and signs were clean, and well lit. The owner's all too rare, but incredibly refreshing passion for making customers happy, and ensuring that their experience is a pleasant one, even if it means going above and beyond what is required; absolutely blew me away. While there, my family and I discovered they make more beautiful cakes than the book stationed in every BR. They make mostly anything you want created from "Despicable Me" minions, to gorgeous simple layered cakes.They have also brought back many flavors, such has cotton candy, and have made new flavors like my new favorite "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" which has pop rocks in it! Note that the very early (bad) reviews were for the previous owners. The current owners are awesome. This is the best Baskin Robbins in the Bay Area. Period. The owners are very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure that you are getting the best service possible. They also care very much about their store, their cakes, and every detail possible. The primary reason to visit this location out of all other is their custom cakes. They are phenomenal - great designs, extremely fresh and made with great care. I highly recommend that you drive a few extra miles to visit this store for ice cream or a special cake. Have visited this location a few times before and it has always been a good experience. Went in today as the place had just closed five minutes ago and as we were leaving the owner came out and asked us what we'd like, if it was something simple he'd be able to give it to us. Unfortunately they couldn't make a Banana Royale as the ingredients had been put away and everything cleaned but instead he decided to give us free ice cream :D He was a nice guy and he also directed our attention to the cakes on display as me and my brother were chatting about cakes prior to leaving. It turns out his wife makes them, and they are gorgeous. He showed us some cakes she'd made for other people before on his phone and they were incredible. They were varied, intricate and beautiful; they definitely didn't look like any amateur work. I will definitely consider her in any future cake endeavors, as I suggest any readers to check the place out if they are looking for awesome cakes. read more

My kids love this place... The staff here are very friendly everytime. During Halloween they offered us a free scoop of flavor of the month and my kids had fun with a staff that was dressed like a zombie. Today, took both my kids and the younger one was impatient waiting for the ice cream while the elder was picking his choice.
