I hopped into this B&BW store in Ala Moana yesterday, it was a Friday. The first associate, young local girl greeted me with a "Happy Aloha Friday" which was nice of her. She then looked at my purse, I had my LV Speedy which I really loved and always carried with me when I go shopping because of its size and convenience. The next sentence that came out of her mouth was "Oh, it's the OLD Louis...." I was stunned and so shocked at what she said. Those words lingered in my mind the entire 15 minutes that I was in the store and made me so uncomfortable. I did not purchase anything and left the store. It was very inappropriate and unprofessional of her to make that comment and destroyed my fun shopping mood. I never thought that B&BW employees judge their customers by their purses. I would never go back to this store in the future. read more

O.M.Goodness B&BW/White Barn please give these people a raise! What a wonderful crew! I wish I knew all their names! (If you're an employee that reads this- I'm sorry I missed it!) As soon as I come by- a wonderful nice and friendly gal (I'm sorry I didn't quite catch her name with the mall being so loud) inquires about what items I'm looking for. She introduces me to different fragrances available. And then also helps to ensure the capacity of customers of the store. She also gets an associate by the name of "Tomi" to help me. Tomi was so knowledgeable about the products available. She showed me more than one area where they had put the hand soaps in the store. She even introduced her favorites and let me sample a few of her recommendations. I think hers was similar to mine in the sense of strong fragrance but ones I didn't purchase before. She even showed me a wall (i was like "Oh yeah, I've seen this. And then she pointed out the two other sections and then I was like "Oh WOW!") near the back of store that I never noticed before somehow. She even offered her assistance and her name before she left me to shopping by myself. After i picked a few from there, I moved from that station to the back wall of hand soaps. I started smelling some of the testers there. I'm not too sure of his name but there was funny and friendly dude that also showed a tester bottle of the fragrance I was looking for from the shelf- because it got misplaced by a customer he was helping out before me. Awesome dude! I went back to that hand soap wall. Then a nice gal named "Michelle" also helped me out, showed me some fragrances I missed out on- which was a combination of types she personally likes and surprisingly not the same ones that Tomi recommended. Her recommendations were very light, sort of dewy types of fragrances. She was very personable and gave lots of information. After that- she too gave me her name and offered her assistance if I needed anything I needed - she too was willing to help me. I definitely didn't realize the variety of fragrances I was missing out on. As I was shopping by that back wall of hand soaps- There was a different cool dude that had to pick a few things from a drawer under the shelves. He noticed that I was shopping, made nice small talk and eventually left me to do my own shopping. I felt so bad for being near the same shelf (as to avoid bothering him from doing whatever it is he was doing). He was very understanding and I appreciate his patience when I was looking over a couple items. And eventually I made my way to the check out counter. I met a very nice lady named "Rika" there. She did the normal process of check out at a B&BW. & She doubled my bag for me! You have no idea how much I appreciated that! I had 10 hand soaps and it felt like it would've ripped with the one small B&BW bag after holding it around as I shopped. Any how, all I have to say is: that was my nicest experience shopping there. The limited capacity of 36 definitely make a difference form before. Yeah the line outside will be long, but I personally don't mind it given the amount of space in the store we get. It gave me a peace of mind as well. I wanted to highlight that I overheard a couple other associates (that I didn't talk to) dealing with a demanding customer. I just wanted to give attention that I believe they handled her requests very professionally and in also a kind manner. Despite her very specific requests, they kept their composure and a smile. First off, I'm so happy that we have a bath & body works here on the islands now, I remember traveling out of state and going straight to a bath & body works to get those hand sanitizers lol! I am a HUGE bath & body junkie, once I'm in the store you cannot pull me away until I have bought my share fair of products! I LOOOOOVE the sales! 5 for $18 hand soaps 7 for $24. On off seasons when they try to get rid of things the sales get even better! Sometimes soaps and body mists and lotions for $1.75! Yesterday I decided to come here because I saw that they had new Halloween scents and one with a sugar skull soap berry flavored, so cute! I'm totally obsessed with anything dia de Los muertos to begin with so the soap was a plus! They had tons of new selections, so I decided to get a 7 for $24 deal. I was helped by a young man named Brandon I believe? He was really nice and he was cute LOL! Nah but he was helpful, the guy at the register total opposite, didn't talk to me until the end of my transaction to tell me the price and blah blah, but it's alright I won't knock the rating down because I had great help on the floor. They recently changed the hand sanitizer shape, so I'm not too thrilled about that, I have so many so I probably won't stock up on the new shaped ones just yet, and that's going for 5 for $6 rather then 5 for $5. I stopped by just to buy one foaming soap for our hotel room, I usually pack one by totally forgot this trip. Anyway waited outside for about 5 minutes, no big deal. The girl managing the line was very nice and was chatting up all the customers prior to entering the store. Once inside several associates approached me to ask me if I needed help , a little over kill as I did not need help finding one soap! I told them no, but thank you! When I reached the register, the cashier had a question about my purchase and called the manager over, I'm not sure of his name but he was very rude never even looked up to address me after I asked him a question needless to say I couldn't get out of that store fast enough! What can I say, this place is the best place to get soaps! Don't ever pay full price, because they always have sales and/or coupons! My BF and I stopped by the other day because they were having a $2.50 soap sale and it was crazy! Super crowded, but the employees were all nice, upbeat and so helpful! I was looking for a certain scent and one employee could tell that I was searching for something. He immediately asked what I was looking for and went hunting for it for me! The store didn't have the particular scent I was looking for, but he did find something similar, so I bought it! I went in to purchase 60% off sale items today at ala moana store! Their clerk put In The Stars on the sale shelf and when i questioned clerk 3885776 a dumb Caucasian gal about why it was not on sale, she replied it's not a fall item! I said its on the 60% sale shelf, i went to take a picture, went back to show her. She replied no it's NOT on sale! I requested to talk to a manager got a gal named Meredith, just as dumb as the first clerk! I said you have to honor the sale, it's not my fault that your clerk, put the wrong item there! Then they called the store manager on the phone, to ask if i could get the sale price! "She finally said just give it to her!" How rude! I have been a loyal customer & have spent thousands of dollars at your store! You guys need to learn how to take care of your customers! Bath & Body Works located on the second level mountain side in the Diamond Head Wing of Ala Moana Shopping Center. I really love the deals that this establishment offers to the customers. The friendly employees greeted me as soon as I entered the retail shop. This retail shop sells hand soaps, hand sanitizers, hand lotion, fragrances, body lotions, and bath body soaps. The deals that normally grabs my attention is the buy 4 bottles for $20 or buy 6 bottles for $24. Of course I would normally grab either the hand soaps or the hand sanitizers. Every now and then I would grab the travel size hand sanitizer, hand lotion, and even a small bottle of fragrance. My recent visit I had grabbed $30 worth of merchandises and the employee who helped me at the checkout counter said I could purchase a soft warm blanket for $20 more. I gave in and spent a little over $50.00 for my purchases. Darn it...I wished I had a $20 gift card to use for this transaction. Oh well...next time. I love BBW products, however do not like shopping at the Ala Moana store. Every time I want to exchange (not return) an unused product for a different scent, I am given a hard time. They require a government ID bc they cannot seem to find my purchase with my credit card number. I only have one credit card that I use for all my purchases, so it should be found under that credit card. So far, they were not able to find my purchase. Now, I make sure I donʻt throw away my receipt but at the same time I only buy what I know I like. I donʻt even want to try something new bc if I donʻt like it, Iʻll have stress trying to exchange it. Also, I always leave BBW with bags of products but every time I walk into the store they watch me as if I am going to steal something. A couple of times, I was paying at the counter and I wanted to get another product so I decided to grab it really quickly. Two different managers on two different occasions noticed that I was grabbing something and asked the cashier what was going on. The second time this happened, I was standing behind the manager as she was asking the cashier what was going on. I asked the manager what is all the questions for. She turned around and responded with a frown, "I am the manager and just making sure you are okay." I thought to myself, if you wanted to check if I was okay, then wouldnʻt you ask me instead of the cashier. But I replied, "Iʻm good!" As I was walking out, I noticed she walked back to the cashier to talk further with her, with her dismayed body and facial expression. I donʻt care that sheʻs the manager, sheʻs a terrible one at that. I just sold all of my BBW shares (at capital lost) bc every time I go into that store I give it the benefit of the doubt, though every time I leave that store feeling uncomfortable. This is the only store that I love going to for its products, but at the same time hate going to for its management. My poor husband have to listen to my experience every time, and every time leaves him confused to why I always come back to the car upset from BBW. I am an accounting manager in the hotel industry and I know that bad customer service impact the bottom line and brand name. read more

I'm definitely a fan of Bath and Body Works and was one of those gals that were thrilled to find out that they'd FINALLY be opening a branch on Oahu at the Ala Moana Shopping Center. I have been shopping at Bath and Body Works stores for years and have always brought their lotions, soaps, lip balms and hand sanitizers back for gifts and omiyage for family and friends as well as for myself. It's funny how I would be one of those people checking out with one or two large (double bagged) packages out of their mainland stores and one or two of their workers would always ask me if I was from Hawaii because they've seen other people from Hawaii shop just as mad in the store as I would. I still don't understand why they took as long as they did to open shop in Hawaii, but sure am glad that they finally did. I like their stores because they tend to be clean and pretty well-organized and well-stocked on most items. I love a lot of their fruity smelling products such as their awesome hand sanitizers, anti-bacterial soaps, candles and room sprays. I don't really care for their Cherry Blossom line or any of their other floral stuff. I'm a happy camper just as long as they keep stocking all their fruity products. When checking out, it's awesome when you are handed a coupon or two with your purchase for your next visit. Those 20% coupons are always very much appreciated and I can say that I almost always try to make use of those coupons when received. It's a great way to keep customer loyalty. This is our favorite store for hand soaps, car fresheners and sanitizers. Not only do we use these on a daily basis, but they are great gifts and stocking stuffers. I LOVE going to the Ala Moana store. The sales peeps are friendly and the cashiers never look overwhelmed. They always have a smile. Considering the busyness and craziness of this store, they never get upset or irritated. I love getting coupons in mail and through email. And now that the store is renovated it has a nice homely feel to it. I am glad it came to Hawaii because their products were always on my list for friends and family to get from the mainland. The only con is that it can get overwhelming as a customer to see so many new fragrances being introduced so often. Call me cheap but I hit this place up a week after Christmas, which is when they have their 75% off sale. I stock up on seasonal fragrances like Holly Wreath, Gingerbread, Twisted Peppermint, Winter and Fireside. They also have a bunch of Fall fragrances for 75% off sales price. Foam hand soaps, Wallflowers scent diffusers, shower gels and lotions are all marked down as well. Although the crowds in the store are at maximum capacity, Bath and Body have the smarts to have extra cashiers, even one off to the side of the store. I also love the fact that there are extra salespersons walking the floor checking on items for you. The sinks in the store are a nice touch so you can wash off any fragrance that you don't really like. I forgot my printed coupon at home but the sales associate at the register told me that she'd have me covered; she rang up my sales minus the coupon I forgot to bring...talk about service! Finally! They are here! No more overbuying online to get free shipping or bringing that extra bag to the mainland to carry all that good smelling stuff back. I went today which is the grand opening. I was towards the front of the line to get into the store. Just like every other store (VS, Target, Nordstrom) that finally decided to open up a store in Hawaii, I'm sure the grand opening for this location will be it's biggest ever. It's located on the mall level in the Macy's side, where Disney store was (Sharper Image before that and then I can't remember what was before that). I was disappointed...no coupons or free eco bag or anything for coming on the first day or braving that awful thanks to Osama traffic this morning to get towards the front of the line. The lady walking around did say that there were social promotions going on though for today. When the maile was cut and the doors opened, the frenzy began. The store has 3 rooms so to speak. The first one when you walk on has all their signature lotions, shower gels and sprays. Sweet pea is a classic btw. They had tons of new scents: Forever Sunshine, Country Chic and my favorite catchy scent name... Carried Away. LOL, that's perfect for all of us locals. Today is the day we get carried away in our excitement that Bath and Body is finally here. The second room is my favorite so I beelined it there like everyone else. The second room has candles, lip glosses and... The antibacterial soaps and hand sanitizers. There were tons...I'd estimate at least 30 different small hand sanitizers. I saw their regular ones (vanilla, cucumber melon, etc), social zodiac ones, Mothers day specials (One hot mama caught my eye), their spring ones (loved the watermelon) and even fourth of July one (s'mores, hmm). Then the soaps, there weren't as many but still tons. Great deals: $5/5 small antibactetial hand sanitizer $20/6 antibacterial soap buy 2 of the signature scent stuff, get one free And that's what I could remember... I grabbed what I could and figured I'd sort my bag later. Good thing I did, that antibacterial corner got bombarded. I think that corner needs to be antibacterialized! LOL Then the third room has all the true blue spa stuff, travel size stuff, VS lotion, those wall plug ins, aromatherapy scents (newest one is energy), some last minute impulse stuff on the shelves and then the cashiers. As I was perusing, I got stopped for an interview, probably because my bag was quickly filled less than 5 minutes of the doors opening. Time to check out, the lines moved well. The cashier was a bit confused because I asked for 4 extra small bags for gifts but he emptied the big bag he put my purchases in and then put them in 4 small bags. That's ok. It's their first day. I was happy that all the promotions rang up right and I was charged correctly. When I left at about 10 am, the line wrapped around the corner twice almost to the back entrance of Shirokiya by the Sanrio side. Other than the unexpected traffic (Osama died but he's still getting his revenge!), great opening day. As I visit more, I mag have to update my review...opening day isn't always a good measure of how a place is. Workers are fresh and on good behavior and there are usually some kinks to still work out. I'm sincerely thankful to the soap and scent gods for answering my prayers and finally bestowing upon the people of Hawaii, especially those who vacation on the mainland frequently, with the Aloha State's first Bath and Body Works store. Located on the mall level in the Macy's wing of Ala Moana Center, the store is welcoming, bright, and spacious. It's divided into 3 main rooms or sections with the cash wrap located in the rear of the store. Within this mecca of scents, you will find your standard antibacterial soaps, hand sanitizers, shower gels, body lotions, AND one of the best products BBW has introduced recently: the mini antibacterial hand sanitizer and holders! Yes, yes now in a smaller and compact size, these mini sanitizers are more "hand"y than ever. Although the fragrances and products are the main stars and attractions here at BBW, let's not forget the people behind the scents who greet us at the door, stock the shelves, offer shopping bags, and provide assistance to those in need: the hard-working sales associates. Please join me in giving them a standing ovation and round of applause for the dedication, perseverance, and patience they exude, especially during their inaugural Christmas shopping season of 2011. I did a lot of my Christmas shopping over the months of November and December at BBW, and I truly appreciated all the help I received from the employees at this location. TIP: My most recent visit was last night and they had lotions and shower gels from their Christmas line for $3 each! Hurry hurry while they're in stock! Lastly, on past trips to the mainland, I would be meticulous on stocking up on items from BBW and hoping my luggage would not be overweight on the return trip home. I came here with my friend and daughter and we were immediately greeted at the door! Love that!! We were then told about the specials for the day, they're soooo on it!! :) although they did not have my sanitizer scent Hibiscus Strawberry, they did have that scent in foaming soap. 5 for $5 hand sanitizers and $0.50 holders are the way to go! As a kid, there was no worse torture than to bring me here. My sensibilities have changed drastically since I got my own place. The store is bright and happy, and obviously always smells so nice. There are always friendly staff there to greet you and make you feel welcome during your shopping experience. I enjoy the sinks throughout the store to try soaps or just make your hands feel clean after a long shopping trip. They have consistently valuable sales, usually giving away free products especially at the beginnings and ends of different seasons. I am partial to the Autumn, Winter, and Hawaiian themes. The last two times I went, I took advantage of 7 soaps for cheap prices, and lately their 3-wick candles 2/$22 plus a free soap. Their products make my home and hands always smell so fresh and nice, especially around the holidays. read more

Shopping at Bath & Body Works is just not the same for me. Is it because of the crowd? Is it because it's small? Or is it because we have one here in Hawaii and that's why it's not exciting anymore? When I use to visit BBW in California, each shopping experience put a smile on my face. Walking into the Ala Moana BBW store, there's just no sparks. Sooo overwhelmed with different scents. And not any that I really prefer. I found this scent called Butterfly Flower last year. I haven't been able to see it in the store yet. I just hate it when I get to LOVE a scent and it's not carried at the stores anymore. Just sooo disappointed. P.S. At the cashier counter, I did manage to smell something I like. BBW was promoting their new scent Paris Amour - a blend of white tulip and pink champagne. I hope this doesn't get discontinued like Butterfly Flower. read more

I made sure I mentioned his name at the register (didn't catch his name but he was wearing a beanie and a beard!). I found out that the only item in the store that is exclusive to the Hawaiian islands is the Aloha scented hand sanitizer. It smells soooooooooo good! This place has the excitement associated with any new mainland chain store that comes to Hawaii, and it was NUTS. They have a great way of displaying the many fragrance products much like all of their stores. When I visited, I found that many of the popular scents were sold-out and was a little surprised by it especially because they had just opened. If you like a scent and don't want to spend a bundle, i recommend buying the mini's which were 3 for $10 and they conveniently fit in your purse, car or gym bag. They also offer deals on the larger sized items but unless you use a ton of the stuff all the time, you might end up like me - with a huge collection of body sprays and lotions that go bad over time. i think i'll stick to the mini's from now on. ok, what was I thinking? Came here night before mother's day and looking for a gift. During the afternoon, there was a line outside. NO WAY am I standing in that line. Came back about 830 at night and cruised by. WOW, no line. Good, I'll get in and grab my stuff. As I walk in, BAMM right into a wall of crazy women! Then on the sides were all these bored men. After a wonderful lunch of the Jalapeño Hamburger at Ala Moana's "Islands" casual diner (a must visit for lunch when they open at 11am or Happy Hour). Anyway, while carrying most of my very large burger in a doggie bag for dinner tonight, we came upon a 75% OFF Sale at Bath & Body Works. My wife wanted to stop, so I took a photo of the outside of the store and posted it on Yelp. I then decided to see why there was standing room only in there at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon. It was the 75% OFF Sale. I decided on a nice candle, which I burn while working on my computer or just watching TV on the computer, etc. it's SO RELAXING. The candle I chose was $20. I didn't mind because I love candles. (I also have a tranquility waterfall and Buddha on my desk. I enjoy the peace these items bring me). I digress. While looking further into the deep packed crowded area near the cash registers, I came upon 2 large candles on Sale for $4. I immediately placed my $20 candle down and picked up the two $4 candles and also a $2 lotion and $1 men's cologne. My wife found some hand soap for home and the total saved us MORE THAN $46 in Sale priced items. I lit the candle of a night time woodland scent while watching TV online and clearing e-mails. It was perfect. Should they have more candles the next time I return to the Ala Moana Mall, I will buy 3-4 more. Great Christmas gifts. Plan early my friends... I've shopped at BBW over the years...I used to bring a lot of thing back home from the mainland...now that they are here I rarely shop there.. The other day I went in to purchase a holiday mint hand soap. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They always let you try the products prior to purchasing and seem to always have some "special" going on. The only problem is after a while, the smells get to me... I used to work for Limited Brands, the parent company of Bath and Body Works and Victorias Secret. And while I don't agree with a lot of Limited Brand's policies, I do buy things from Bath and Body Works. Here's the catch: I only buy things when they're on sale/via promo deal on facebook/if they're 75% off. Yep, they have products 75% off sometimes. I bought pump soap for $1.50. Woopwoop! The lines for the cashiers are really awk and disorganized. The last time I went, they had run out of Bath and Body Works bags, and put my purchases in a Victorias Secret bag..... read more

I used to live on the mainland, so i'm not as ga ga over B&BW as most people in Hawaii. One thing I know for sure- the scents here are strong. When I'm near Michael Kors, walking towards Macy's, I can already smell B&BW. Ick. The employees here should be paid above min. wage for having to tolerate the scents (I want to say stench, but that would be offensive) On the plus side, they do have great sales. Once I bought three 3-wick candles for $30 (retail $19.50 for one!) I gave them away; my friends loved it. read more

Quick shout out to the two retail workers, Josh and Julie. It was a packed house on 11/17/18 around 0930 because of their $2.50 hand soap sales. Julie was super nice in getting a manger for us when one of the clerks messed up our order and helped us find things in the store. Josh's enthusiasm was infectious and his good humor helped start our shopping adventure. Love the location since everyone is so friendly. Definitely recommend! read more

Everything is always on sale! Yes! I cannot believe they FINALLY opened a Bath & Body works in Hawaii! AAAAAAAA. ok. now that I got the squeals and screams out I'm fine. So...it's what, September, and ALL the Halloween stuff is coming to shelves EVERYWHERE! This means Holidays are starting! Which means: MORE SALES! and yummy scents and decorations and... Anyways, I was hoping that there would be some Halloween antibacterial hand sanitizers for my purse holder...and it was 8 for $5! cool! :P sadly, there was only 2 scents...skulls and bones...I wasn't about to get 8 of 2 scents. uck. I also picked out some cool other ones cause it's 5 for $5 on the other scents. I noticed the zodiak sanitizers but then kinda got a little grumpy when I couldn't find mine- Gemini. But I did buy some other goodies, mostly fruity ones. I bought 2 fall/halloween foaming soaps, the candy green apple has a glow-in-the-dark skeleton on it. (cool!) and it smelled like a green apple jolly rancher. Too bad it isn't candy cause I was so tempted to drink it out of the bottle! yeah! The other soap I got was Autumn leaves or something like that but it smelled like fall..and that smell was amazing. I also got a few mini candles. I've never bought candles from Bath & Body Works because I love my Yankee Candles and Partylite but I just couldn't resist the smell of the fall and halloween scents (again with the seasons) I ended up getting smores, spiced madeline, and mint chocolate. yum, dessert to go with all my holiday goodies. I cannot believe that I can like this place so much and not get tired of going back again and again. I would have given a full 5 stars but I was extremely disappointed with the limitation of the halloween scent...really, 2? that's it? I do have to say I was very impressed at the service of the staff. Everyone was very helpful from the storefront greeters to the ladies and gents at the back. I didn't even have to look around for a shopping bag, one automatically appeared on my arm. I also tried the spa hand scrub and lotion (I don't remember what It was called). My favorite place to go because Hawaii finally has a bath and body works! Lately, this place has gotten more male than female workers. I could not find one female worker as I went around the store asking why the female bathroom was locked. yes, there is a public bathroom at bath and body works! It's towards the back of the store. I love this place. It could be improved however, if you don't have someone asking you if you need help every 2 minutes. Also, some of the guys that work there that just rave and ooh and ahh about certain scents kinda creep me out. The cashier line could be improved...it seems chaotic most of the time as 2 lines split into 8 registers. Other than that, I love this place! read more

The store is great and I'm a fan of their products--lotions, candles, air fresheners, you name it--but I wouldn't be writing a review if not for one of their employees, Mike. He helped my partner and I when we were browsing one day, and there's just something about him that's really personable; he stands out as someone who is genuine, and who also sincerely loves the products. (He talked about his candles at home.) That was kind of amazing. I think they're all really nice there, and I also hope you get a chance to meet this guy. He's really good at helping find stuff you'll like. read more
