ONE GUY did the job (taking out the old tub, walls, fixtures, etc., and then installing the new) in TWO days. Yeah, I know they advertise one day, but folks, let's be real, OK? He consulted with me about the placement of the shower, wand, grab bars, and shelves. Danny Allen (the installer) was great. Showed up on time both days, kept me informed of his progress, and finished as promised. A perfect job, IMO. From the start - Sales - everything was smooth. They made a mistake in the measurements and asked how to proceed. There was no charge to increase the floor (base) of the new shower beyond the original plan, since it was their mistake. Great - advance - customer service. The local sales person, Joseph Andrade, was delightful to work with and followed up with a phone call after the job was done. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. And just one BTW: another company, asked for a quote at the same time I started with BathFitter... called YESTERDAY to offer me that quote - more than a month later!!! Ha! read more

I found out the hard way that after putting a total of 8 tubs in my rental properties, that the are NOT covered by their highly advertised "LIFETIME" warranty. I had a unit fail... water getting in between original tub, the bathfitter insert, forcing water to seep onto the floor. The "5Year" commercial warranty had expired, and I would have to pay for a whole new intakkn not even credit for some work that would not have to be repeated . I plan on calling a contractor, have the entire unit pulled out and pay for a real bathtub and tile. Will have to do them one at a time as I expect the rest to have the same problem. I'm almost. 80, and I'm sure it's buried in the install paperwork, but one thing I know for sure, the sales consultant did not tell me about the exclusion and in fact told me how it would be such a comfort to have all the baths coverd for lifetime. Also, their TV ADVERTISEMENTS talk about the lifetime warranty, with no verbal exclusion. That is probably included in the micro miniature print that flashes on the screen. I'm in the dark why a tub in a one bedroom I bath apartment would receive any more wear than in a house that probably has more people and more wear. I had hoped they would consider a goodwill repair but didn't, and email and calls to corporate were never returned. That's another piece of info they don't tell you up front? But each Local Bathfitters is independently owned. Just disappointed. read more

We were wanting to convert our tub to a walk-in shower and went to the showroom in Newark to see the products. Within a few days, we had an estimator come to our house to talk and do measurements. Some weeks later our material was ready and we had scheduled two days for the installation. Stephen H did most of the work and was skilled and respectful. He arrived promptly and worked all day. This review is on behalf of an elderly family member who just completed a tub-to-shower conversion with Bath Fitters. Although we considered going the traditional contractor route, we ultimately decided Bath Fitters would be more cost effective, quicker, and less disruptive, which was important given this family member's progressing needs. We were not disappointed! From start to finish, we felt like we were in good hands with the Bath Fitter team. The process was straightforward and painless, and we were done two weeks ahead of the anticipated schedule. Here's a glimpse of the excellent service you can expect: * Jim, our sales rep, kicked off the project with a home visit to take preliminary measurements and discuss needs/customizations. He gave us a quote on the same day as his visit, which he said was transparent and true, meaning we wouldn't have any surprise charges (assuming no discovery of water damage or plumbing issues during installation). * We finalized the contract electronically, and then Bath Fitters manufactured the materials, all made of acrylic. About three weeks later, we got the call that materials were done and scheduled the installation for the following week. * As promised, the installation process took only two days! Frank arrived on day one around 9 am. To minimize mess, he brought material to cover the path from the front door to the bathroom, and he covered the bathroom vanity. Frank was excellent throughout the process -- super communicative, informative, thorough, and kind. For example, during our day-one "walkthrough" of the process, Frank could sense that my relative was apprehensive of removing their original 1957 (!) tub/tile. He showed empathy by including her in the process and sharing his own experiences with an elderly relative who needed shower accommodations. His advice helped us pinpoint exactly which type of shower hardware we needed, and we were able to make last-minute changes via another quick electronic contract. * On day two, Frank brought a second colleague, JR, who was also excellent. At various times, Frank and JR brought my relative in to see the progress, ask questions, and help make decisions on small details. My relative, who can be wary of change and strangers in her house, was at ease I think because they went the extra mile to include her. When the job was done, Frank and JR vacuumed and wiped down the vanity counter and floor, showed us how to use the new shower, and talked us through cleaning and warranty processes. * Now, on day three, we wait for the adhesives to cure... and by tomorrow, my relative will be able to use her shiny new shower! She's tough to please, but she was thrilled with the work that Frank and JR did. Ultimately, I think the process took 4-5 weeks from the first day we met Jim to post-install day, with only two days of disruption during the install. My only complaint: * There were limited options for the "lip" of the walk-in shower pan (i.e., how to keep the water in). We chose a rubber bumper so my relative could wheel over it when she needs to use a wheelchair. However, as you'll see in the photos, the bumper is an eye-sore. I wish Bath Fitters offered matching colors for the rubber bumper, and that they offered a pan with more slope toward the drain. Plus, the shower pan isn't fully flush with the floor, so it's not a true walk-in. Hopefully she'll be able to wheel into the shower when the time comes. Some tips for future customers: 1. Trust the process but be explicit about what you want. Your rep will work with you to make sure you get the customizations you need. 2. I believe it's hard (if not impossible) to change anything about the wall/floor/ceiling materials once they're manufactured. However, you CAN change your mind about certain hardware and accessories during your day-one walkthrough. For example, we decided to go with one corner shelf instead of the two we'd originally chosen. We also changed from a magnetic shower head to a shower head that slides up/down, with a second mount closer to the shower seat. 3. Although the installers cover big surfaces to avoid a dusty mess everywhere, they're not super detailed. For example, they covered the vanity but not the medicine cabinets, toilet, or floor. If you want to avoid a deep clean after the project, I suggest covering/taping off things you don't want covered in fine dust. I wish we'd taped plastic over our medicine cabinet because everything inside got super dusty. Whoops! 4. If you get Frank and/or JR, know that you'll be in great hands. :) See photos for the before/after of their work! read more

Marta B. Shower Doors Nightmare I am extremely disappointed with the shower door installation service I received. In July, I had glass shower doors installed, and almost immediately, I noticed a significant problem: water was constantly sprinkling outside the door closest to the shower head. What followed was a frustrating ordeal of installer visits to troubleshoot the problem that ultimately resulted in a subpar solution. After weeks of installers visits, one of teams claimed that lowering the doors would fix the issue. But that attempt also failed! After three months of back-and-forth, a silicone slider was added to the bottom of the door. Although this prevented water from escaping, it introduced new problems: the door with the silicone slider is difficult to open and it sticks when sliding. To make matters worse, the other shower door is now wobbly! I reported these new issues to the company and was asked to have "tolerance" with the wobbly door. This is completely unacceptable. I paid for professionally installed shower doors that don't function properly. The company's refusal to properly address these two new issues demonstrates a lack of commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. For this reason, I do not recommend this company. Be warned that if you encounter any problems with their work, you may be met with delays, ineffective solutions, and ultimately, a lack of accountability. I deeply regret choosing this company for the shower doors installation. read more

Bath Fitter experience was both good and bad. I originally gave Bath Fitters five stars on Google on install day, but don't know how to go back to give them two stars so I'm writing it here. Stacy O'Farrell sales consultant was professional and really knew her stuff! She was great! The shower install was done in one day, which is what we needed and why we paid more and went with this product. On that same day, I went on Google and gave them five stars because at that point we were happy. The negative is that after it was done, we decided we didn't want the shower curtain and we were going to install a shower door but found the walls were not plum. There was a half inch visible gap so a shower door was probably no longer an option but wanted to discuss it with Bath Fitters. We tried to call and it's been two weeks of calling and we cannot get anybody to return our calls. Told repeatedly oh yes someone will call you back. Finally I called Stacy the original sales person and she said I will get on it immediately and have my boss call you. I don't doubt that she did that but it was four days ago and we still have not heard a word. So after two weeks of getting nowhere we are done with Bath Fitters and cannot give them a good rating. They are totally unresponsive and dropped the ball. Very disappointing. read more

This is our second review in 2 months. Bathfitter sent Frank Valuenzela and Skylar to lower our shower chair that was installed too high (about 3 weeks ago) by the original Bathfitter installer. Frank and Skylar arrived within the window time frame they said they would arrive. They advised me on the appropriate ADA recommended chair height and double checked the height with me. In the process, we got new shower walls. All in all, the shower chair is currently working well for me. They also advised us on using a liner for the shower curtain (our low threshold shower cannot hold a door) to keep the water in. In short, they, particularly Frank as well as the salesperson (Ken) were very professional and attentive to my disability needs in the shower. We would highly recommend Bathfitter. read more
