Let's start with the pros: friendly service, and you can't beat the view. We were sat at a table right against the deck railing and it was gorgeous! My husband got a bacon cheeseburger that was big and juicy! He said it was delicious and it definitely looked it. The fries were also crispy and delicious without being over salted. Now the cons: i got the fish and chips and it was by far the worst piece of fish I've ever eaten. Like I've had better in fast food places. I never knew fried haddock could have the texture of beef jerky before i ate this fish. Overall i would definitely come back and have something else on the menu. The burger looked amazing and i saw some other dishes coming out that looked really good as well. Just avoid the fish! read more

Bayside Betsy's has always been a go-to for me for the many years. While never cheap, always a good alternative to "fine" dining. Food was always fresh, cooked on the spot and always good. When Betsy herself owned it, the restaurant ran like a well-oiled machine. While the restaurant looks the same, it's been going downhill with regard to service, selection and uphill in prices. The hummus platter(filled with feta, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.) has now turned into a bowl of hummus w/ some packaged pita. The fresh potato chips are now off the menu. Lobster rolls are now $36.00. Service slow and fair. Owner's please get the hint and bring back this cool spot to what we all know and love. read more

Great food. Great location, right on the water. Sandwiches--chicken, burgers, fish--are great. It's a good place for lunch. But ... they snuck a Trader Joe's Apple Blossom on the dessert menu. $9. (They're 2 for $2.29 at TJs.) I love them, but they need to be baked--not microwaved--to firm up and toast the pastry, and that would take too long. This aside, I do like the place. This place was a great little stop for breakfast. We glanced at the menu outside and couldn't resist. The portion of the food was perfect, nothing too excessive. The small orange juice was pretty pricey but (I knew it would be) everything else on the menu was very fair. We sat on outside patio and our view was just breathtaking. We sat in the sun and the breeze kept us cool. I'm glad we got to the restaurant as soon as we did, it packed up super quick. We decided to try this place after having had been disappointed at another restaurant. Their clam chowder was very thick, almost too thick in my opinion. But definitely true to their word of containing lots of clams and flavor. I got the Shepard's pie and was not expecting it to be as hot as it was. My fault for getting burnt. The flavor however was delicious with a nice glaze/sauce mixed in with the ground beef and vegetables. The fish and chips portion was very generous and tasted fresh. The gnocchi pesto was fluffy and chewy in the best way possible with a flavorful roasted tomato and pesto sauce. The burger was good, as most burger places are. Service was great. My wife and I had dinner here. The staff was quite nice and attentive, and we had a good bottle of wine. That's where any praise stops. We had the guac and chips, vegan ravioli, broiled haddock entree, and the veggie egg rolls. I don't think any of it was actually made at the restaurant. The guacamole was clearly squeezed from a tube or something onto a bowl, The egg rolls looked and tasted like something out of a Walgreens freezer section. The vegan ravioli looked and tasted like some bought-in pre-made pasta and cheap red sauce. The haddock was fine, but felt like it was frozen and not fresh. All in all, it felt and tasted more like we were at an Applebees and not a cape restaurant. Would recommend somewhere else. You can just find better everything for the same price. read more

Stopped in tonight for dinner as this place is right on the water. The Server very obviously didn't want to serve us. We asked for a table facing out to the water, the place was near empty yet she didn't want to seat us there. Then every item on the menu we asked about; she said wasn't made fresh there. We came for breakfast at brunch time - around 11. Another 45 minutes later we still had no eggs and toast. When my husband went to ask where our food was, a waiter who wasn't our waiter sniped there were other people in front of us. My husband said, "It shouldn't matter how many people are in front of us. It should t take 40 minutes to make some eggs." Then that waiter who was not ours said he'd close our check. We finally got our food and it tasted fine. Then a manager woman sidles up to the table and says, "I heard it took you a while to get your food." And when we said, "Yes," her response was, "And I hear you yelled at my kitchen staff." It's our last meal of a wonderful week in Provincetown. And I'd say start TF away unless you truly don't care when your food is delivered and how you're treated. read more

First, we almost left the restaurant because the hostess was so horribly rude and unwelcoming. But we saw the smiling bar tenders and stoped in the bar for drinks and stayed for lunch. As we sat in the bar, we heard other folks saying how the hostess was "so mean." We stopped by since all the other restaurants in town were packed at peak breakfast time. There were plenty of open seats at Bayside Betsy's. Our orders were taken quickly. However, there was nothing positive about our experience from then on. Upon the first bite into our omelette, we discovered that we received something we specifically asked not to have in our omelette. We had a few bites and left it mostly untouched. We weren't checked on for the rest of our stay until the end when we asked for the check. No one refilled our empty glasses or asked how the food was. This was despite plenty of staff and many open seats. The price was very expensive for what you get. However, this is somewhat expected given it is Provincetown. We were likely better off waiting in line at the many great restaurants in Provincetown. On a positive note, there's a beautiful view of the ocean from the deck. read more

First things first, their AC & ceiling fans are awesome. We stopped for lunch on a sweltering July afternoon & we cooled off immediately! They do have a great deck over looking the bay but it was too hot to sit outside. The interior is very nice, seating is comfortable! Our service was spot on, very attentive & timely! The food was very tasty. Two of us had the haddock Rueben sandwich which was delicious & the fries were nice & hot. The two ladies both had the blackened swordfish sandwich & thoroughly enjoyed it. Prices are competitive for the P-town area. They have a good cocktail menu but a little light on the craft beer menu. We all would go back! read more

Quiet early June Friday morning at 9:30am for breakfast for 4. Love the outside deck! Great view! Egg sandwich with sausage and cheese was good but bland. Eggs Benedict - got the florentine with spinach and Canadian bacon. Tasty but eggs were overdone and not runny at all. Also, asked for well done English muffins and was barely toasted. Bloody Mary was ok. Nice waiter but still had to go find him to get a water refill when only one other table of two was on the deck. Early in the season so hopefully will continue to improve. Stopped in for breakfast on a Tuesday (in the off season)... this was the only sit-down place that was open. Not a bad selection of food - we both had omelettes. Both those Home Fries? THEY were the star of the show. Perfectly light and airy, crispy on the outside and all around perfectly cooked. Not a bad breakfast, but not a great one either - solid 3 stars for food - but a bonus star because of the view out the back of the restaurant. We would have eaten on the deck/patio, but the wind was too strong. We'll be back during the summer - that view was fantastic. read more

Our hotel owner recommended this place. We were seated right away on the covered outside deck with a gorgeous view. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. Now the reason for the 3 stars....our food. I had a cup of the clam chowder.....too thick and pasty. I also had a small side garden salad which was ok. My hubs had the salmon burger special which he said was just "ok". We waited 45 minutes for breakfast- we were the only table, joined by two others 15 minutes after we arrived. All food arrived intermittently for all 3 tables, and the orders were mixed up. A very charming place in Provincetown with a spectacular waterfront view. There was a bit of wait for outdoor seating when we got here at around 1p. The staff is friendly and masks were mandated. Sanitizers were easily available. Calamari was delicious. Lobster roll and Caesar salad with shrimp made an excellent lunch for us. read more

We are here with a group, primarily because they had gluten free rolls for the lobster rolls. Overall the experience was not great. One member of the group ordered an entree that the menu said comes with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The server said that she couldn't get the mashed potato and vegetables, only fries. It was a very odd back and forth, even after she offered to pay extra for the vegetables. I understand that many places are struggling with employees now, so I'll give them some grace there. However, the lobster roll was dry and everyone was pretty underwhelmed with their food. I wouldn't recommend eating here, based mostly on the food. read more

May 17, 2024. Terrible service, bland food, and didn't think you could ruin a Bloody Mary- but alas, you did! Our first and last visit. I ordered the Portuguese omelette for the Portuguese sausage and the tiny pieces amounted to maybe a tablespoon. The coffee was just brown water and no flavor. My husband's eggs were bland and needed condiments to enjoy. The chocolate chip pancakes and lobster burrito were just okay. The waitress was unpleasant and dismissive. Food is good - not great, but the service is ALWAYS terrible. This visit, I wanted at the host stand as she hostess dickered with people's bills and ignored me for a good ten minutes. After walking away, another person coming over, and her coming back, she finally made eye contact and I said "can I get a table?" And she seemed surprised. Why did she think I was standing there? She then seats me as the least easy to get into booth in the place. (I'm a big guy) where i backwardly squeeze in, only to watch my waiter take an order from someone at the more comfortable booth in front of me, who came in after me. The waiter who apparently hates his job from his lackluster performance and dour demeanor eventually came to take my order, and his entire demeanor said "please save me i hate my job". He was miserable and miserable to me. I have the chowder. Good and thick. Quite decent. The seared ahi tuna Nicoise salad was good too. the food isn't the problem here, it's perfectly decent. The atmosphere is nice. But the service and staff are unrelentingly terrible -- and since the new owner took over, it's only gotten worse. (Unnamed P'Townies have confirmed this to me -- that all the good staff took off because the new owner is terrible -- hence the unhappy, unhelpful staff that remains.) read more

What a great interior, with bright colors and eye catching art work all around. Bayside Betsy's was our surprise stop this year. There is a large open front room to sit, but ask to sit in the back to see the bay and enjoy a good airy breeze. We stopped for lunch, and were instantly greeted by a friendly server. He was always on point afterwards and frequently checked on us. With a decent lunch menu of seafood and more, we went right for the lobster roll. We each had a Cape Cod beer to start and then enjoyed a large lobster roll that was very good. Filled from end to end, the lightly dressed lobster meat was delicious! The bun was lightly toasted and a perfect vessel to use. Add the large cut fries as a side and this lunch was one filling meal. Bayside Betsy's impressed us today, an attractive interior, a friendly staff, and a delicious lobster roll were just right. We honestly can't believe we have walked right by so many times and ignored them. We checked out their cocktail menu and plan to return later. read more

Just make sure you get there in time before they turn over to lunch because there aren't many other breakfasts type options in town. Great experience for us on New Year's Day. Went for breakfast with girlfriend and my teen daughter. Great friendly service, super menu selections, very nice atmosphere with views of the ocean.
