To start, when you walk in, it looks so much smaller than it is. The vibe is so chic and trendy. It really feels like a place for everyone, you could come in dressed in shorts and a t shirt or a nice dress. It's upscale casual, which is perfect for literally any time! The portions are HUGE and the drinks are phenomenal. I had a specialty latte & let me tell you- worth. It! we came for brunch this visit but I cannot wait to go back for dinner. They were busy but hustling, not a long wait at all even though it was a Sunday during prime time. The waitresses were attentive & fast paced. Everyone worked as a team so no one was forgotten which was great. 10/10 recommend & I cannot wait to go back. This location does have tight parking and because the location is a little small, accommodating large groups seemed to be possible but with a wait & a little tricky. Best bet would be to call ahead for groups larger than 4 & be patient while waiting. Bar area is first come first serve (there's 2 bar locations, one central dining and one small one in the back of house). Come in hungry & ready to be kind to wait staff as they are totally kicking butt at their service game! :)

Large place with many windows, very inviting. Seated quickly dispute being packed. Smelled so good upon entering. Friendly staff and comfy seating. We tried many delicious items and none of them disappointed. Tried two versions of the Sammie, one as described in the menu and one with all bacon and eggs over medium which was wonderful with each bite. Breakfast shots were so yummy!!!! Lobster Eggs Bennie fantastic. French toast was perfect. The perfect breakfast.

Spinach and Crab dip very good!

I just love love Bay Local and decided to go for their Saturday happy hour since i had a late start to my day 3-5. My favorite apps are half priced and my favorite Raspberry sorbet mosa is a great price as well. I always get good service and the food is always good.

A nice option if grabbing brunch/lunch if you're in the Red Mill area or before or after visiting Owl Creek Landing, Adventure Park or the Aquarium especially if you want to avoid the summer chaos at the oceanfront. Parking isn't as challenging as it's located in the parking lot area of a strip mall. So if their lot is full, you can easily park in the general shopping lot. Food is great and plentiful! There is an abundance of seating inside and they do offer outside seating. It gets extremely busy so either come really early or at least an hour prior to closing. It gets quite loud inside, so if you're looking for a calm, quiet atmosphere probably aim to dine outside. I ordered their wings appetizer as my entree and added some parmesan tater tots. Wings were fantastic, crispy and filling. I asked for buffalo flavor and a side of old bay . The wings are a fairly good size! I ended up eating 4 of the 10 wings and was full. They do have 3 locations - shore drive (closer to lynnhaven inlet), laskin (closer to oceanfront ) and general booth location (closer to Sandbridge). I feel like this is their largest location.

One of the my favorite restaurants in Virginia Beach. There is a great vibe here - it is very bright, updated, and clean. They have good brunch deals and live music. I ordered the Fried Chicken BLT. It seems simple on the menu under the BLT section, but this sandwich is great. It is a big portion and a big piece of chicken on the sandwich. Paired with the regular BLT ingredients, made it a great sandwich. The fries were excellent too. They were similar to a potato wedge in texture, but more of a fry instead of a wedge, which I liked. They have an excellent seasoning. Overall an excellent spot for breakfast, lunch, or brunch. Would recommend and will return.

Great, delicious food- huge portions, beautiful set up in the restaurant. FYI- there's an automatic 18% gratuity added to your check. Thankfully, we had a great server who was very attentive. We will definitely be back!

It was time to eat and I had no idea where to go. My Bestfriend said she wanted a waffle and to sit outside so I headed to the Yelp Search to see where we could go. There were a lot of places in the immediate area, however, the pictures from Bay Local drew me in and the reviews absolutely sold me on making this our brunch option. Bay Local was easy to find and the 6.8 mile ride wasn't bad at all. We pulled in, found a parking spot, and headed inside. The hostess was at the stand and greeted us with a bright smile. I advised we needed a table of 3 and added my name to the list. She advised it was about a 45 minute wait and I didn't mind waiting. As we waited, we sat outside in the seating area. The ambiance is very casual and the bench style seating coupled with the archway adds such a cozy feeling to the exterior atmosphere of Bay Local. About 30 min into my 45 min wait my table was ready. We headed in and were immediately taken to our seats. The inside ambiance is amazing. Super vibrant, great use of space, and a beautiful use of plant, art, and lighting design. Cursing the menu made me smile as the options are so enticing and there was nothing I didn't want to try. lol. The hostess was super sweet and arrived at our table within moments of being seated. She welcomed us in, took our drink orders, and allowed us time to cruise the menu further. Guess What... They have Sweet Tea!!!! I was sooooooo excited. lol. Once she was back, we were ready to place our order. I decided on the Buttermilk Pancakes with Bacon for my meal and I was in anticipation for what was to come as everyone's food around me looked and smelled amazing. The Arrival... The food comes and oh. my. gosh!!!! Talk about an Eyegasmmmmm. The playing is superb. The smells make your stomach do flips, and as they place the plate in front of you, your heart begins to smile. Pancakes: Buttery. Soft. Perfectly made. Perfect flavor profile. Pillowy. Filling. Addictive. Bacon (4 pcs): Meaty. Great texture. Crunchy on the edges. Soft in the middle. Listen to meeeeeeeeeeee. I love it hereeeeeeeeeee. You can Bay Local me anytime I'm in Virginia Beach. This is my newfound Happy Place. Thank you, Bay Local. You have a friend in me.

Came here on a Sunday , after finding out another restaurant would be a 2 hr wait , It was me abs my mom's first time here . My friend that stays down there came along as well . The Ambience of the restaurant is cute and cozy but definitely gets cramped . Had about a 30 min wait . The food is really good which big portions. I would definitely come back .

California brought east with a southern twist! Lots of space to accommodate all the people and we got lucky with only a 2 min wait. We prepared for the average 45 as other reviews noted. Fast drink service. My Bloody Mary was a bit on the light side but heavy on the pepper. Oysters were freshly cooked and clean. Grits were the way I liked them, not soupy so that was first to be eaten. Never even got to the potatoes but luckily we were a group and nothing was left over. My friends got the avocado toast, bacon, coffees, and crab cake Bennies with tots!

Our last meal at the beach and we went to this eatery/restaurant. It did not disappoint. We got seated in less than 15 minutes for a Sunday brunch hour. I had the hazelnut latte - OMG so good. The one gal had the spicy Bloody Mary and she gave it a thumbs up. Food was fresh and so good. I had the crab cake Bennie with tater totes - Devoured it. The other gals had avocado toast and just right. Definitely a must come back!

Very chic as soon,as you walk in the door. Nice, clean and modern decor. Got seated right away, and service was spot on. I ordered the "Light Tower" omelet. I am a dipper so I opt to have the hollandaise sauce on the side. Plus I really like to taste my food. It normally comes with fries or tots, but since I have soy allergies they we're kind enough to change it up for grits, and English muffin. I couldn't go without my bacon. Lol Honestly, they we're truly kind to do this for me! The experience, food and hospitality will have me coming back for sure! And definitely and as one of my favorite place!

Probably my favorite location for Bay local. The inside is casual, bright, and welcoming. It was very festive and loud while we had brunch but I enjoyed the ambiance nonetheless. I had the One Love breakfast which offered a variety of options. So for those of us that want a little of everything, this is the perfect dish. I had my eggs over hard with their Parmesan tots, roasted avocado, salad, tortillas and a scoop of their chicken salad. I was so full, by the end I took home the chicken salad and greedily inhaled it as a snack later. This speaks volumes as I am not a leftovers kind of gal! Would definitely come back here for a boozy brunch and overall good times.

The servers and staff are observant and focused on small details that really set Heirloom apart. I especially love the part of the dining room filled with lush hanging plants. We visit several times a year and are always impressed by the quality. We always order the She Crab soup and a Wedge Salad as appetizers to share. They are both so good, I'd probably request them as my last meal! The She Crab soup is absolute perfection, creamy and full of lump crab. I will not order She Crab soup anywhere else after trying theirs. The wedge has pickled onions, candied bacon, blue cheese and some kind of marinated or pickled tomato. Paired all together to make the perfect bite. We have tried a lot of the menu, it does rotate around seasonally, but there are some items that are consistent. The burger was absolutely decadent but not overwhelming. I usually order the "secret", not so secret Shrimp dinner that's not on the menu anymore. You get 6 of their amazing fried shrimp, a magical dipping sauce (cant' describe it!), and 2 sides. (see what's their seasonal sides!) Heirloom will remain one of our favorite places in the 757 to celebrate special occasions!

I had high expectations, and somehow they still exceeded them. They're the highest rated seafood restaurant in the Virginia Beach area on Yelp, and for good reason. There was even a small wait on a Wednesday night, which honestly told me everything I needed to know before we even sat down. Our server, Jenny, was absolutely wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and always seemed to show up right when we needed something. The head chef also stopped by our table and was incredibly kind and genuinely invested in making sure everyone was enjoying their meal. That level of hospitality really made the experience feel special. The meal started with a complimentary amuse-bouche of roasted golden beets, goat cheese, candied walnuts, and balsamic. It was a classy little bite that got the evening off to a great start. Then came the sweet potato biscuits with apricot jam...listen, I could've eaten an entire basket of those and been perfectly happy. For my entrée, I ordered the crab cakes with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. These are the kind of crab cakes people are looking for. They were packed with lump crab, full of flavor, and had virtually no filler. Every bite was delicious. From start to finish, everything was on point. Great food, genuine hospitality, and a team that clearly cares about what they're serving. It took me over a decade to make it back, but I can promise it won't be another ten years before my next visit. Highly recommend.

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.
