Poke Bowl (Small) DO U SEE THE SIZE BRO it's so worth it

OKAY SO First, like wdym the avocados are free to add into my poke bowl... like many places make me pay 2 bucks to add avocado. The things to add into my poke bowl are also super different from other places and they give me such a big portion. I ordered a small sized bowl and when I was done, they couldn't even close the lid plus I ate well. Honestly, this place is just delicious I loved the shrimp because they give me a lot and the sauces were delicious too. Especially their spicy mayo like that's the best thing I've tasted in a while. Just order a small and add as much things as you can atp... cause your gonna be full after the people are also very nice there and are patient while taking my order. It's really chill and sitting there while eating was the best

Came by because I was craving for poke bowl. They are located in the same plaza of Vons. This place is very clean, and it has a few table inside of the store. I ordered a small bowl with vegetable base with a scoop of salmon and scallop. The portion was huge. I requested to add eel sauce in the bowl. They have a variety of toppings to add on. Price was reasonable. I was unable to finish the bowl. Parking was very easy in this location. I will come by again for more poke bowl.

Great spot to satisfy your poke cravings! It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking. I ordered a medium bowl which comes with three proteins, and it did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and I appreciated that avocado was included at no extra charge. Definitely a good spot to check out if you're in the mood for poke!

They also have a great selection of toppings, and I especially loved that avocado is included--usually it's an extra charge elsewhere. The portions were extremely generous, too. With a variety of seafood available throughout the Southern California area, there is no shortage of cultures that know how to make this food in their own special ways. And with this, poke has been an up and coming dish. I personally have had limited exposure to this poke frenzy on the mainland. But when I saw Bay Poke running a large bowl BOGO special for $19.95 on UberEats, I figured it might be worth the time to grab a bowl and see how the food compares to that of Hawaii. With a customizable system for ordering, each person can make a bowl to their own custom taste and liking. And for this experience, I decided on a white rice base; salmon, spicy salmon, boiled Japanese scallop, and calamari salad for proteins; cucumbers, seaweed salad, imitation crab meat, Hawaiian sweet potato, edamame, sweet corn, pineapple, kimchi, masago eggs, and mandarin oranges for sides; and spicy ponzu sauce, lemon garlic sauce, sesame oil, spicy mayo, crispy onion, seasame seeds, and furikake for garnishes. I initially thought that the portion size would be small, especially with all of the items I was adding to the customizable order. But to my surprise, the amount of food given exceeded my expectations. Each piece of protein was large and thick in pieces which was very pleasant. The sides were also given generously which helped to make for a fulfilling meal. Twenty dollars may seem to be more expensive than a typical meal in the entire Greater LA area. But because this dish contains loads of fresh seafood, it was more than fair. Of the many things I ordered in the dish, everything just seemed to pile on which left no cohesiveness to be had (my fault). But nonetheless, each ingredient tasted as fresh as they could be. I personally enjoyed the salmon and scallop as the salmon had a good ratio of fatty to lean pieces while the scallop was large and included the other parts of the meat besides the medallion. The addition of the masago eggs and imitation crab meat was a nice touch, especially since they were lightly sweet, savory, and did not cost extra to add. For the sauces, the ponzu sauce gave both a sweet and spicy kick to the bowl which really helped combine the different flavors and textures. And for last, I enjoyed consuming the sesame oil as it made all of the ingredients taste more defined than they would have otherwise. It may seem to be a steep price for a meal at first. And without the special buy one get one offer, it could be harder to justify the meal at the regular $20 price tag. But if you can move past this, the proteins are wholeheartedly delicious, the sides are offered in plenty and given generously, and the sauces complement the ingredients well. With that all said, I would give Bay Poke a solid 4 star rating. Definitely give them a go if you're in the Pasadena area, it's definitely worth a try!

Great poke bowl, great service!! Poke bowl used to be very popular. But it seems like it's a little hard to find a good one recently. In searching for a high rating poke I came across Bay Poke. And it was great! Easy menu, Small Medium Large with 2/3/4 scoops of protein. But trust me, they use the same bowl and with all the extra, it will all end up equally BIG!! Nice protein options. Apart from the typical salmon, tuna, shrimp. They got the Japanese scallop (NOT bay scallop but the Japanese one). We tried the spicy salmon, soy sauce tuna, scallop, calamari salad. All excellent. As for the side, so many different options and they are so generous. Basically they will add whatever you want in a decent portion. So if you like me, want to try a little of everything, you will end up having a huge bowl! Price is very reasonable. Ingredients are all fresh. The two servers that were helping us are all kind and nice and helpful. A wonderful poke place in town.

I've followed bay poke to various locations, Irvine, Anaheim, and now Pasadena. I love their poke, I haven't tried many places since this one has everything I like. I get a medium bowl with white rice, imitation crab, shrimp with spicy mayo, house sauce, and sesame oil, with cucumber. Add avocado, top off with crunchy onion and garlic and spicy mayo drizzle. They never disappoint. Parking has not been bad the times I've gone, it is located in a shopping center with many stores. The shop itself is pretty small, they have some tables inside. Service was good as well, went around 6 and it wasn't packed.

I don't recommend this place. I came in to get a medium poke bowl and Snapple tea. Initially, service was ok. The server appeared to be bothered to have to serve me and gave me attitude. I was eating and after a few bites, I found this worm on the salmon. I politely went back and asked for a refund and they asked me why. I told them I found a worm on the salmon and they tried looking for it themselves. Another server (who was very nice) came out and took over, she also had the audacity to ask for the Snapple tea back. I told her I was keeping the tea because I had already opened it. They refunded the Poke bowl but all had attitude about it. I do not recommend this place.

Was in the area and couldn't figure out what to have for lunch. Have always passed by this location, so decided to give it a try. It's a small shop in a very busy shopping center that is anchored by a Vons market. I can see how the parking lot could get very busy during peak times. Got into the store and was greeted by some very nice staff. I noticed it was "cafeteria-style" poke, so you get to choose your base and toppings. I must say that they have a lot of offerings, so depending on what size you choose, it could be an overwhelming process. Felt a bit rushed by the staff to make my choices...so it might help to choose beforehand (but part of the fun is seeing what they have available). My items were nicely packed into a medium-sized container and filled to the brim. Very tasty and fresh meal (maybe snack to some) and I hope to visit again. Price point is what one would expect for poke...but it's the items that they offer which make it stand out from the rest.

I go here often, Food is mostly fresh and it really taste good, only problem is 1 crew (guy with glasses) gives such small serving, everyone else I ordered from gives almost full bowl, this 1 guy gives half bowls consistently. Otherwise it would've been 5 stars. read more

This place was pretty good, my online order was made correctly and ready when I came to pick t up, the fish was good and they packed it in separate containers so it wasn't soggy when I got home. No counter for pickup orders though, so I had to wait in line behind ppl ordering at the counter for my pickup read more

Poke places are a dime a dozen in the area, having so many places popping up in cities all around socal. Most places are fairly average and do not stand out of the pack, unfortunately, this place falls into that category. I saw the high reviews and praise on Yelp which drew me to try it, but left the place disappointed. I ordered a regular poke bowl which comes with 3 scoops of fish for around $11. (The large, 5 scoops, comes out to around $14) The fish and toppings options seemed fairly standard, with avocado being $1 extra. The two major things that I look for at a poke place is freshness and portion sizing. The salmon and spicy tuna I ordered was fresh and tasted good, however, there was little that I could taste because the portions we're quite small. I mixed my entire bowl together and the fish:rice:toppings ratio was off, with the bowl being mainly rice. With fish being the star of poke, I was quite disheartened to see how lacking it was at a pretty high price point. By the time I finished my bowl, I was still not satisfied which is never a good sign. Parking was fairly easy during the afternoon as it is in a plaza that is not too busy. The decor and interior was clean and bright which is always a plus. Overall, I would say Bay Poke is another pricey and average poke place that can be lost in the abundant amount of offerings in the area. I wouldn't make the trip out to try it, but you could grab a bowl if you are in the area; otherwise I would take a pass. read more

Pretty simple menu here-- regular and large portions are around $9 and $12.50 respectively. The poke was fresh and balanced, and the place was pretty clean. I had previously happened by the Irvine location on a whim, and that's how I made my way into the Pasadena store. Poke is one of those foods that always leaves me wanting more-- tasty and good, but for protein eating Neanderthals like me, I think I could eat 20 scoops in one sitting. Chips, the Macaron ice cream sandwich, and a fountain drink or coconut water helps fill you up. This small chain isn't fast food prices, but I've definitely eaten worse fish before at other places, so I may happen back in here when I'm looking for a snack. If I'm going to gorge on raw fish, best to catch them myself, or barring that, but a few big fillets at the market and make my own poke at home. Still, this is easier and delicious. Can't say I'll make a point of visiting again, but I'm sure I'll find my way back. read more

I frequent Poke places time and time again, and this was my first time at Bay Poke in Pasadena, coming hungry from college just a few miles away. Parking is in the same plaza as Vons, and other stores. This location is really clean, indoor and outdoor seating, and doesn't have that nasty fish smell when you walk through the door! The employees are super nice and informative. The Poke tasted very fresh and every bite was into perfection. The fish portions are cut a little bit too largely, but they are generous with their amounts. You can practically get extra anything! Extra ginger all the way! They have many different drinks, ranging from coconut water to green tea in a can. The overall price is a little bit expensive but location matters and if you want good quality, this is the place to be. read more

We were sad to see Buzio's Frozen Yogurt leave but when I saw Bay Poke pop up in the space, I was excited to try it. We received a 10% off coupon in the mail and figured we'd give it a try. The place is newly renovated and was very clean and inviting. There were quite a few people working the line behind the counter so service was pretty good. It was busy which I took as a good sign- we had to wait about 10 minutes. They make it pretty easy to choose what you want as it's all "chipotle-style" dining. I went down the line and chose a regular (3 scoops of protein vs large- 5 scoops of protein) of ahi tuna and brown rice and topped it off with cucumbers, seaweed salad (my fave!), edamame, crab meat, ginger, corn, house sauce, sesame seeds and crispy garlic! It was all very good. My only complaint is that the sauce was a bit bland. Maybe next time I'll try the ponzu sauce or add an eel sauce drizzle on the end. This is my go-to poke place. I love how fresh everything is as well as how fast and efficient the service is. I was super glad when they opened up a few years ago in the same shopping center as my grocery store- it's easy to pop over when I am done shopping. I've also done delivery a few times during the pandemic and it was still just as fresh! Highly recommend. read more

Poke has taken over SoCal! There are so many poke shops around now, it's insane! So when Bay Poke opened, I was iffy about trying it because of how good it will compare to other shops. However, I wanted to grab a quick lunch and headed to this location. The fresh, clean interior of the restaurant was very nice. What I like about this poke place was the variety of choices they had. From spicy salmon to albacore, there were a great amount of fish selections and fixings as well. Also, the price is very reasonable! I bought myself the bowl with 3 proteins for around $9! In addition to the great price, the line and stations went by in a smooth, orderly fashion. When I was devouring the poke bowl, I really loved how the rice was nice and warm below the cold fish (Hawaiian style). Overall I really enjoyed this poke shop, and it is one of the best in the Pasadena area. read more

Just ordered and picked up take out from bay poke. It's nice that they provided two containers one with the protein toppings and sauces, and the other with the base. In my case I got: Toppings: - spicy tuna - scallops - shrimp - avocado - sweet corn - edamame - imitation crab - sweet onions ? first time and I loved ! - sauces: shoyu spicy ponzu and spicy mayo + rice The only thing I was annoyed with was that I couldn't get half rice and half salad through the grub hub app But delicious!! read more

Just stopped by in the middle of the day, the experience was good. I usually go to the poke restaurant in Long Beach, this is the first one I been to in Pasadena. So, generally food is good, but a little bit off my expectation, might be related to the light flavor. And some tuna might be made before enough cool down so that there's still feeling of ice-water inside. But overall, the experience is not too bad. More attention on the food quality will be a plus. And definitely come back for the unagi bowl next This is Update---- Will strongly recommend the Ugani bowl, very good, love it so much read more

This is my first experience when it comes to the Poké craze. That said, I am pleasantly surprised at how tasty a bowl with rice, Ahi tuna, albacore, Salmon, & a plethora of other fresh toppings can be. I added avocado which is an extra $1.00 but very worth it! On top I also added all the fresh toppings including the variety of fish eggs(very tasty) into my bowl. Every bite was very good. The staff were all very attentive, friendly, and most importantly had their smiles on. I'll be returning soon, yum! The staff that Pan, Daniella, Kevin were amazing! Thanks Bay Poké! read more

the food is good and it is definitely one of the better poke restaurants in the area, but the service is bad. All the employees have an attitude and apparently don't know how to use the register. They over charged me because I paid with cash and card and when I pointed out that the total was different they pretended like the price difference was due to tax, even though my total was shown on the register before. Gave me a receipt that said misc charge that they entered in manually. read more

This place is amazing. It's a tiny restaurant, as the pictures show, but because what they offer is so good this place is constantly busy. That's a testament to what they're offering and their overall quality. The large poke bowl is indeed very large. I double up on salmon and shrimp. Very yum. They give you free reign with a huge variety of extra toppings as well. It's a great idea. Large portions, a great variety of free additional toppings, creative sauces and fresh seafood and ingredients. I don't actually live nearby by but have already been here a few times. Good stuff. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch, while we were in the area and I thought it was pretty good. My boyfriend thinks he may have gotten sick from the food, so my review will be based solely on my experience, since we had different fish. They have several different selections to choose from that it's a little overwhelming. I got the regular size bowl and it was plenty of food. I tried the albacore and tuna with a few different veggies, ginger and brown rice. The restaurant is very bright, clean, and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful with the selections. Everything seems fresh and there was always a steady stream of people coming into order. Prices are reasonable and you get a good amount of food. There's plenty of seating inside and outside and plenty of parking. I'm not sure if we'd go out of our way to go back, but I may try it again if I'm in the area. read more

Please keep up the quality of your fish! I've been to several poke places that started out great and headed downhill from there. For the time being, Bay Poke is legitimately good! I got a Regular size bowl (three scoops of fish) with all tuna and the tuna quality was surprisingly great! No sinew-that chewy white stuff so many poke restaurants have. In my opinion, this place and Pokeworks is the best I've tried-and I've tried pretty much every poke place around! The new one at the Arcadia mall isn't great because of the price and also because their tuna always has those chewy white pieces. One thing I really liked is Bay Poke offers tobiko (type of fish egg, not the orange masago kind) for free! We will be back! read more

Yesterday around 7pm on a Wednesday I decided to go out for some poke. I'm fond of this place a lot, and rely on their fresh food. But as soon as I entered there was just a FOUL smell of rotten decaying fish. Gross! I was hesitant but I had already placed my order online and took it home. When I got home to eat, the salmon was a little darker than usual. I was a bit concerned because the restaurant smelled real bad. (I have no idea what they do when it smells like that but it gave me the impression that something had expired.) Anyhow, I was being positive and whatnot but today, (Thursday) I'm SHITTING my ass here and the restroom stinks like the restaurant. I definitely know I got FOOD POISONING and now I'm not sure if I want to go back with that traumatic experience specially if it smells that bad in there. Maybe they should open doors and whatnot because that was the worst poke experience I've had, ever! read more

See this place everyday on my drive to work. Decided to pop in for lunch. Everyone is super helpful. Asked for my base half spring mix and half brown rice. Got 2 scoops of the salmon. AH-mazing. Food was so good. So many things to chose from. Not pricey at all. $10 for the small, which is BIG. Fresh ingredients. Home run. If you're on the fence, this is a must try place. There are hardly any GOOD poke places around, but this one wears the crown. My "to go" food never made it out of the parking lot. read more

My new favorite poke joint! They give large portions (3 scoops of fish in a medium). They have a ton of toppings too and you're welcome to add as many as you want onto your bowl. The fish quality itself is average, but bay poke makes up for it with their price. Total for a medium comes out to $12 which I think is super fair. read more

I loooooooove coming here for poke!! the workers here are always so generous with their scoops and they also don't charge for additional toppings, i always thought it was such a scam when poke places charge like a dollar extra for another scoop of corn or something. for protein, i love their savory tuna and spicy salmon. they have squid too but i believe it's marinated in ginger which i personally don't like. they have so many options here that you could add to your bowl, like mandarin oranges which i've never seen before but now i always have my poke with it. they also have a wide variety of unique sauces that i'm not adventurous enough to try, and lots of other food / drink options on their menu (like poke burrito, fruit teas, milk teas). they even have dole whip. bay poke goes above and beyond as a poke spot and i definitely reccomend giving it a try! read more

My favorite poke place ever!! Their portions are gigantic which is my favorite part about this place. Their fish is so fresh and tasty and they do not skimp on the other toppings. I also love how they have so many different toppings available to choose from. The texture of the rice is also perfect and I love how you could do half brown and half white rice. Really tasty fresh poke bowl ,super plus because they have thai tea boba, gurl that was helping me forgot to put boba in my regular size cup, gave me a large for the extra boba . That's wonderful on customer service and I felt a lil happy too because its happy nurses week. A bit disappointed on no mango for the toppings but the fish was delicious overall so that's ok. Food was great not gonna lie about that. My first time ever trying this place and the moment I started to give my order, it was nothing but attitude and they seemed annoyed that I was asking them questions about their menu (again it was my first time there) and I couldn't hear them good enough. ( I have bad hearing so ) y'all it was to the point that I wanted to leave without my order but I was on my lunch. Overall management needs to either teach them better customer service or hire people who actually want to work there. read more

This place is truly a solid place! It's not the best in Pasadena but it's pretty good and the staff are so friendly. It's my second go to spot and sometimes 1st because of convenience to my house. I always get a small with half salad half white rice, and my own qualm with the place is that unfortunately the salad tastes kinda dirty. Maybe it's the kind they use, I'm not really sure but unlike other places I just taste too much of the salad when I get it here. The fish is really fresh and tastes delicious. I love their spicy tuna and especially their spicy salmon. The marinated tuna is also really delicious and one that I swap the spicy tuna out with occasionally. The toppings are pretty good here because of their wide selection and the staff is very generous with portion sizes of toppings and sauce. They don't really overdo the portion on the fish which I wish they would but they definitely don't gyp you so for that reason I can't complain. Bay poke is a really solid poke place that I'm happy to have found and will definitely be returning to! read more

Not welcoming to certain people. I walked in and the girl with the long black hair just looked at me. Not a word, I just thought maybe she doesn't speak much. This place is gooooood! I'm hooked on poke! It's really clean and the food tastes fresh.Nice customer service too! Plenty of parking out front (I didn't say available) it gets pretty crowded in the parking lot sometimes They have some kind of ice cream, mochi maybe? I got the regular size poké bowl with purple rice, and it's cooked perfectly that it has a fluffy texture very similar to white rice's. What I really liked about this place is that they mix your sauces with the protein in a separate mixing bowl before putting it into your poké bowl. Most poké places I've been too won't do this as an extra step - they'll just drizzle a bunch of sauce that sometimes the dry ingredients gets drenched and soggy. As for the fish itself, the portions are very fair, and the quality is good. They gave a pretty generous amount of avocado as well, which was very fresh, and you do not have to pay extra for it. One of my favorite things to get at Fish King is the plate with the swordfish skewers. This dish is honestly so unique, and I haven't found anything like it anywhere else. It's basically two shish-kebab style sticks of seasoned swordfish, peppers, and tomatoes, and it's served with a few sides in addition to fried veggies and shrimp. I also really enjoy their tacos. They also have very generous servings of poke (I personally don't get the poke from here because it's already mixed in with raw onions and I don't like raw onion). Prices are all very reasonable--the swordfish plate I mentioned earlier is around $15 and a pretty large amount of food. Fish King does get pretty busy especially around mealtimes so it's better to order in advance and pick up so that you don't have to wait around as long. I think if you order in person, you can expect a 20-30 min wait when it's busy. There's a small lot on the side of the market and sometimes you can find street parking too. There are some tables on both ends of the market so you can dine in, it's very casual.

Wow! Kudos to Bay Poke! I'm so happy to see Bay Poke finally opened for business. I've been waiting so long. I went there with my friends today, and it was their first day of business. The place was super clean, and the staffs were very friendly. More importantly, the poke bowl was superb. I had a regular bowl with ahi tuna, salmon, and albacore for my choices of proteins. The fish was very fresh. I added house sauce and spicy mayo, as recommended. They have so many toppings, but I decided to go simple today. I'll be alternating my choices each time I come. The staffs seemed a little under-trained, but it's totally acceptable for soft opening. The quality of the bowl makes up whatever may be lacking. This place is far better than the other poke joints in town. I higly recommend Bay Poke to any craving for poke. read more

Food is tasty and they have a good selection of proteins and a good amount of choices for your sides to make the poke bowl. AND - the price is very, very reasonable for the freshness and quality or their fish.
