I asked how long ago it left, they said 10mins ago. I live 10mins away. 13 mins later it shows up! My guess, it hasn't left yet. And the driver has the audacity to say "still hot for you". Needless to say I won't be ordering again from them. Many of the bad reviews were based on delivery service. What a waste of my time and money. Food looks so-so. read more

I choose this place based on the great reviews for their penne ala vodka. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The sauce tasted a little like a creamy tomato bisque. Something seemed a little off, flavor-wise. BUT their tiramisu was absolutely incredible. The whipped cream on top was so rich and melts in your mouth. The mozz sticks were also well above average. The staff have made me feel just like family and have helped make sure the food they prepared would be safe for me to eat. With all sincerity, this means I have had a very simple meal of salad with grilled chicken, olives, and olive oil - but prepared with love! The staff have noted my allergies each time I requested food here, and they even double checked ingredients in pre-prepared items to see if I could enjoy them. The service has been top notch, and this might be because they are well aquainted with multiple food allergies and how to work around this need because a dear family member of the business has this health need also! I love this place. I think it is the best pizza in Bay Ridge, if not Brooklyn. While I can see others do not agree, taste and enjoyment is a subjective experience. Also, for me, it gets rolled up with the experience as a whole. I have never been to a place I've enjoyed more. If anyone can find more caring owners that Gaspar and Tony, a cleaner place with better food and spirits at the value this place offers, I'd love to know about it. That was until we tried Bay Ridge Pizza, and found a gluten free pie that not only our son enjoys, but the whole family! Their regular pies are great too! To top it off it's family run and we always get incredible service from them both in person and over the phone. On a recent visit we told them how much we enjoy their gluten free pizza and they revealed that a family member also has Celiac which is why they offer GF pizza and pasta dishes. This solidified our patronage as we're confident their food truly is GF as marketed as they understand the consequences for our son if it isn't. If I wasn't eating at the Royal Restaurant up the block, I was here. Many pizza-spots in Bay Ridge have been sold to new owners in recent years, and the generational flavor that built them up gets lost in the transaction. Not here: they're still making it like their dads did 40 years ago. I'm a creature of habit, so cheese slices (regular and Sicilian) were my general go-to. They use good cheese, and the crust-sauce proportion is excellent. Two to three slices plus drink was more than a meal. The kitchen is open so you can see everything that goes into your order, and generally the place is run like a well-oiled machine. I know other reviewers had qualms about delivery, but that was never an issue with me. I only lived in Bay Ridge for a couple of years and only really explored the restaurants on 5th Ave., but there's lots of competition on that thoroughfare and Bay Ridge Pizza has 'em beat, hands down. read more

I was craving pasta the other night, and didn't feel like cooking. There aren't a lot of Italian delivery options around so I went with this place. I ordered the capellini with sausage and broccoli rabe and cheesy garlic bread. The meal arrived within the quoted delivery time, which I was happy about. The bread was also really good. The problem was the pasta. Basically, the dish was a little bit of sausage on top of a mountain of broccoli rabe piled on top of plain cooked pasted. There was absolutely no sauce on the dish. No olive oil or anything. The pasta didn't even taste like it had been cooked in salted water. It also didn't have any sundried tomatoes in it, which was part of the meal description. I don't know how this place is for pizza, but from my experience, I would definitely not get any pasta from here. read more

After reading many positive reviews on yelp, I decided I should try the pizza from Bay Ridge Pizzeria. The only thing i can think of is that either the people who reviewed it work there or are family members of those that do, or they simply have no taste buds. The Cheese is bland and flavorless, as is the sauce. The crust is even worse, as it is doughy and far from crisp. Overall I would rate it slightly above that of a chain pizzeria. The only positive thing i could say is that after trying a peperoni slice their peperoni is passable. I tried a sausage slice as well, and the sausage was barely edible. I would not eat this pizza again unless it was free and i was starving to death. read more
