Hey, my mouth and stomach are happy! I've been here twice now. Each time I had the vegan salad. The salad could use some pineapple maybe? But its much better when you add sriracha! The salad is pretty basic. The kelp noodles make the difference (ask for extra). Ohh, maybe even fresh rice noodles.I tried some of the fresh juice - good. Today I tried the onion tomato soup, yum! Ughh I hate giving bad reviews...but decided to come back here as it's been a while and I do actually enjoy their salads. Again, I ordered online and pickup time is 1220. I arrive at 1230 and no order. I see the ladies start to put orders on the counter for 1250 pickup times. So I kindly ask the African American lady behind the counter if they got the online order for Ashley (thinking possibly someone took mine by accident) she responds with an attitude "yea, I'm working on it right now" ok fine "thanks." I waited. 5 min or so later she places my order on the counter and mean mugs the crap out of me nudging me that my order is there and stares me down the whole time I pick it up. I know you remember me miss. I was very nice asking about my order and didn't complain as I understand it's busy and the lunch hour. Never experienced bad customer service here. I have had their carrot drink before, it was ok but felt a little too expensive (then again this is bay area). How disappointing!!! So I went to pick up my $17.20 salad, ciabatta roll and sunrise juice. Everything was fine, got home to sit down and eat and there was NO DRESSING! I got back in the car and drove back to baygreens and tell them that they forgot my dressing - they apologize, I get 2 sides of dressing and go back home to eat...when I poured the dressing over and started mixing it in, I realized that one of my favorite toppings (tortilla strips) were basically missing. There were a few crumbs and a piece of a tortilla chip, about the size of a dime, and that was it. I hunted every millimeter of that salad and could not find the tortilla strips I ordered and paid for. So I went through my salad list and realized I had NO SCALLIONS and NO HERBED MIX! Three toppings I paid for were missing! I'm so annoyed but I'm not going back up there and I don't want some "store credit" ... I would rather they just double checked my salad, or maybe they ripoff their takeout customers who they know will most likely walk out without visually checking their food, maybe their employees are just sloppy at their jobs and weren't paying attention, but I didn't get the salad I ordered....and the real kicker was after I placed the pickup order on the Eat24 app, I received a message saying they needed to charge me an extra $1 for topping price adjustments. An extra $1 for 3 less toppings and 2 trips due to missing dressing. The food is decent, but you can get basically the same thing from the Whole Foods salad bar and at least that way you can be sure that everything you want ends up on the salad. Ordered: Phucket and Tuscany. Both were meh and we were very disappointed. Dressing lacked flavor!!!!!! Phucket salad- dressing was almost non existent and NO flavor. Cashew dressing tasted like absolutely NOTHING! Shrimp was well cooked, but only got 4 in a $14 salad. Had to add salt to get though it. Tuscany salad- filled with arugula which normally wouldn't be a problem, but again the dressing was lacking everything, but garlic that all you tasted! Fresh, quality ingredients and a great lunch place, although yes it is a little pricey. I would have given it 4 or 5 stars, expect there have been multiple times where I've had allergic reactions from my salads there. Once was due to them forgetting to omit nuts from my salad, and the other time was when I found pieces of walnuts in my kale salad that should not have had nuts. Although I applaud their food, I would suggest they be more aware of the risk of allergen cross contamination since food allergies can lead to dire allergic reactions. read more

I usually order either the Chicken Kale caesar salad, which has the perfect amount of dressings and anchovies or the Alaskan panini, which is bomb! They are super expensive though. Tucked in the middle of a bunch of buildings by Lake Merritt, this place was actually a perfect find for after my run when I was craving something on the lighter side. The staff here is super friendly!! And they understand the lunch rush enough that you'll be in and out before you know it. I did the create your own salad option, which is a great deal for just $8! If I can recall properly, I got the butter lettuce with edamame, mushrooms, bacon bites with the avocado cilantro lime dressing. I added grilled chicken for an extra $2.50. So for around $10, I actually got a pretty packed salad. I was pretty full when I finished it. We're a small 30 person company so we understand that importance of supporting local businesses. That said all 5 of the 6 enjoyed the food I ordered. The last person is on a special diet so they were unable to enjoy the wonderful food Baygreens. I'm going list the order and their comments. 1 - Kale chicken caesar salad: "I liked mine, it wasn't skimpy, lots of both kale and chicken : ) 2 - Chicken Pesto Panini: "mine was good. maybe needed a little more salt. :)" 3 - Oaktown Baby Salad: "It was delicious!! Perfectly dressed, good mix of ingredients and the prawns were super tasty. The vinaigrette was a little mild, but probably best for the average eater, I'm a bit if a salt-and-chile head. Delicious! We ordered from Baygreens for our whole office and it was a hit. I had the Avocado and Shrimp Panini with a small side salad. What's the first thing you judge in a sandwich? The BREAD, and this place has it down; Fresh bread, with just the right amount of crunch. As for the contents, loaded with plenty of shrimp and avocado; this place doesn't skimp. Flavors were tasty! The reviews are spot on about this place. It's fantastic! On the basis of the other reviews, I decided to try for lunch today. They offer daily specials, todays were either a pre-selected panini and soup of the day, or a 3-item combo of pre-selected juice, pre-selected panini or pre-selected salad, and soup of the day, I choose the 2-item combo, the panini in the combo being their steak. It also came with a side green salad. My intention was to eat 1/2 of the panini and 1/2 of the soup and save the rest for dinner, but the panini was so incredibly delicious I ate the whole thing, had a couple sips of soup and am saving the soup and salad for dinner. Their menu includes a small breakfast array (oatmeal or egg sandwiches), house salads, juices, paninis, and they also offer a DIY salad menu. It is popular with the new Uptown Hipster employees, so allow plenty of time to stand in line order, & have your meal made to order, because the ordering line was pretty long. But everyone who worked there was very friendly and did their best to make it a pleasant experience. Pricing is definitely on the higher side, compared to many restaurants in the area, but I think the taste of the ingredients is enough to justify a few extra dollars for your lunch. There was a small line but it moved pretty swiftly. I ordered the oaktown salad and the weight watchers juice. The juice came first, which took about 3 min. I was sitting outside, they have a couple tables and chairs setup outside to wait for your order, and the waitress came out to deliver my drink; I felt that was very customer service oriented. The juice was okay, not too sweet, I make my own so I feel it's hard to top that. The salad was okay also. I wish they would've placed more shrimp and an extra dressing. Good yummy Organic salads and Acme bread Panini. This place always has a long line, but it moves quickly. That tells you that this place has good stuff. They only serve non-gmo, no added hormones meat. Fresh salads, well tossed, hearty ingredients.
